Lovely small group tour with well-chosen wineries, olive oil maker, and distillery. The highlight was the lunch/tasting at the Spanish-style winery and restaurant.

Such an amazing day at Waiheke island.Grant was a perfect tour guide.Very helpful and welcoming and so passionate about the island. The wines are fantastic ,the food at Casita Miro was delicious ..highly recommended day out when in Auckland
Lovely day out with a very friendly guide. We enjoyed the tour, the guide was waiting for us coming off the ferry and explained what would be involved. He was knowledgeable and friendly. The tour was varied some extra virgin olive oil, a good selection of wines and some beautiful views of the island.
i really like this nice tour, nice guide Helen, very nice food and wine testings, i really enjoyed the tour.
This was the most amazing experience! Grant was amazing and we had the best time-best tour guide EVER! All of the places we stopped were so much fun and so good. Batch Winery, Casita Miro, Heke, and All Press-would highly recommend the Gourmet Food and Wine Tour! FANTASTIC!!!
Grant was an epic host , very passionate and informative on everything Waiheke. Great wine/vineyards great food. We were a group of 7 from varied countries and backgrounds , Grants sense of humour put us all at ease. Cheers Jeff and Daile
Very organised tour with knowledgeable guide. Easy paced and a fabulous lunch and a relaxed whisky tasting to finish up
Helen was our guide ~ very personable and very knowledgeable about island life. The tour was part of our Scenic experience and so worthwhile. Small group - 10 in total. The venues visited were excellent with no pressure to purchase, although we did. Thoroughly recommend this activity if one has a day to spare in Auckland.
Great guide, well organized, very small group (6), great food, generous servings of food and drink. Never had to pay for any extra.
Fantastic tour. Really nice guide. Loved it!
Really nice tour, 100% recommended. Craig was an incredible tour guide!!
Great tour from Craig, a local who knows this beautiful island. Very enjoyable, eclectic restaurant/winery for lunch. Wines are good, but conversation with the people at these boutique vineyards is the fun part. The tasting at the olive grove was a nice plus.
This was an amazing experience! I was hesitant to go on a guided tour, but it was more convenient than trying to figure out our own transportation on the island. I am so glad that I decided to go with Ananda Tours. Our guide, Kelly, was a local and so friendly. She knew all about the island and told us all about it as she drove us around. She brought the whole group together so by the end all of us ended up getting a giant group photo! I haven't even mentioned the wine and the food. OH MY GOSH. It was sooooooo good. The lunch at Casita Miro was to die for. I cannot express how much I want to go back to New Zealand just to eat there again. The next time we go back to, I promise, I am booking this tour again!
Although the weather was not very cooperative, we had a wonderful day out on the island with Michael - who was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable host. (Smooth driving and informative narration)… enjoyed the lunch at the Spanish winery. We also much-enjoyed the company of our fellow tourists and had some good chuckles. The stop at the olive plantation was a bonus! We highly recommend this tour - Thx Michael!
Loved this tour! Michael was a wonderful guide -- very informative and humorous. We especially enjoyed the lunch at a lovely restaurant, accompanied by wine tasting there. Highly recommend this tour.
Excellent tour. The tour guide knew the island very well and pointed all places on the island. The vine tasting was very informative and good as well as the lunch. I would do it again and highly recommend.
Craig was our guide and each stop was great! He had knowledge of the island and the people and history behind each place we visited. We were on our last day of a 17 day trip to Australia and New Zealand. All 8 in our group rated this day to be of their favorites! The smaller group size made it special.
Michael, our driver, was great! Gave us a wonderful tour accompanied by a great sense of humor and patience. Was disappointed with the change in the agenda as the tour was not quite as advertised. When I signed up, we were to visit three wineries. Later, the app said it was 2 wineries and a distillery for whiskey, gin & beer or a glass of wine. I don’t drink whiskey, gin or beer nor did they offer a glass of wine. So this stop was a waste of my money and time. I would have used a different tour company if I had know they were dropping a winery for a distillery. Came to the island for wine, not booze.
A full on day of eating and drinking. Be prepared! The tour was informative - both about Waiheke as well as the stops for wine, olive oil and whisky. The lunch stop was excellent apart from the SLOW service …. Which meant the last stop felt a little rushed.
We loved our tour. Took the 9am ferry over with reserved tickets and Michael, our guide, was waiting for us with our name on a sign. The van was fine with good people to hang out with. The highlight for me was lunch at Casita Miro. Such a beautiful place and view. Our food was excellent with wine tasting as well. The olive oil tasting a different place was also very nice. Michael also showed us highlights on the island including the beaches. Our tour ran a little over schedule so we weren't able to explore Oneroa. Caught the 4:30 ferry back with reserved tickets. Overall, well worth the ticket price and I do recommend it.
This was our first tasting tour in New Zealand, and a wonderful introduction to the wines and local delicacies of Waiheke Island, Our guide, Martin, was extremely knowledgeable and provided lots of interesting information as he drove us around. The tastings themselves were great and the platter lunch at Casita Miro was delicious. A fun day, and one I would definitely recommend.
What a lovely day! Our guide was competent, and gave us information about the culture, the wines, the island, and we never felt like we bothered him with our questions. There were a total of 6 on this tour and they were lovely. The wineries and lunch were exceptional. Can’t say enough!
The island is amazing and people are so friendly. Our wine tour is a must! Paul was a fantastic tour guide. The vineyards and places we visited were the best experience.
Had the best day tastiing great wine and food with our tour guide grant who was very knowledgeable and funny and made the day a great success
We had the most wonderful day out on 6th November. Grant was our amazing guide; so knowledgeable and considerate to my needs. We were picked up from our holiday home in Enclosure Bay then on to oysters and award winning wine with Sean, then olive oil tasting and on to Castia Miro for lunch and more wine! The whisky tasting was such a treat for me with a special tasting of their lovely smokey award winning whisky. I highly recommend this tour. It gives a wonderful taste of lovely Waiheke plus an eclectic choice of food and drink. Every aspect from booking this tour and being dropped back home was efficient and friendly. Do it!
Fantastic day. Our guide Helen was super friendly & knowledgeable. Our small group got along great, and the food & wine were top notch too!
Just had an amazing day with our guide Michael. Our 2nd day in New Zealand and if this is a sample of things to come, I’m very happy. We had a marvellous day, Michael was a gem, and the food and wine (and beer, and whiskey and gin) were all top notch. Thanks for a fantastic day.
Our guide, Joe, was very friendly and informative. We had a great time with her seeing and experiencing amazing stops in waiheke. Joe was a wealth of information. Recommend this tour to anyone who has a day in Auckland or Waiheke! Plenty of food and drinks were served, all delicious.
I picked the perfect day for a tour of this beautiful island. Booking and communication was easy and explanations of what ferry to catch and where to meet were clear. There was a small issue with the lunch being delayed....whilst the food was ok it wasn't quite the gourmet lunch expected (again possibly due to the kitchen struggling without its chef). The tour guide was fantastic and I would definitely recommend this tour.
Grant was a fantastic tour guide, wonderful knowledge of the island. Great stops and fabulous food, sights and knowledge. Highly recommend.
This tour exceeded all expectations - gliding across Hauraki Gulf from Auckland to Waiheke on the ferry, the beauty of the island and most importantly (and memorably) our guide Jo was warm, generous and oh so knowledgeable about island life, its superb wines and delicious food and knew just the right places to visit … local wineries Kennedy Point Winery, Batch and Casita Miro were all outstanding in their own distinctive ways. We loved every moment, sip, mouthful, view and conversation…
Wonderful wine tasting at three vineyards with lunch and a little shopping at end. Michael was an amazing guide. Informative and fun.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We went to 3 wineries had great wine and delicious food. Especially Casa Miro. We had some time left and went to a distillery. Wonderful Day!! Paul was grea.
Paul was an excellent guide. Provided lots of interesting information on Waiheke Island. Three very unique wineries, beautiful scenery, and great food. Highly recommend!!
This is a rich and righteous shout out to Debbie, who was beyond professional, knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating and exceeded our expectations for this Waiheke tour. Thanks to Debbies “down home” bapproach to discovering sites and delights, we find Waiheke Island now one of our top work remote locations in the word: Big Sur California + Hawaii + a little slice of Heaven!
We had an incredible day on the Waiheke Island Gourmet Food and Wine Tour, and it’s an easy five stars from us! From start to finish, everything was relaxed, well-paced, and thoughtfully curated. Our guide Jo was a true gem – warm, knowledgeable, and made us feel instantly at ease. She brought such a lovely energy to the group and gave great insights throughout the day without ever feeling overbearing. Our first stop was Kennedy Point where Nikki hosted us with passion and care, sharing the story of their organic wines with real heart. The coastal setting was the perfect welcome to the island. At Batch Winery, we were looked after by Hannah who was friendly and informative, making the tasting experience really enjoyable – plus, the views from the estate were absolutely stunning. But the standout of the day was lunch at Casita Miro. Aries hosted us with flair and humour, and the food was just outstanding – creative, beautifully presented, and incredibly delicious. Easily one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. Waiheke’s charm, paired with such genuine hospitality and top-notch food and wine, made this tour one of the highlights of our trip. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the region!
We had a fantastic day on this tour with Jo as our guide. She was knowledgeable and friendly and fun. We saw gorgeous vistas, enjoyed good wine with snacks and lunch was incredible. I wish I could remember the name of the vineyard where we enjoyed it. Just a really great day!!!!!
Deb was ana amazing guide! All the stops were unbelievably gorgeous. Lunch was fantastic! Can not recommend this tour enough
One of the best excursions we tried in New Zealand. Wonderful wineries and scenery. Small bus of only 8 people. The last winery had many unique mosaic features. Food pairings for lunch were spectacular.
Outstanding! Stunning views, lots of great wines, and an amazing lunch. One of my favorite excursions! This excursion was more than I expected and I HIGHLY recommend it.
Our tour was with Ananda Tours and it covered a portion of Waiheke Island to include their chosen wineries. It was a small-group minibus tour (16 people on our tour). A big shout out to our driver, Michael, who knows the island inside out, and who gave us snippets of information as we drove between the vineyards. He really was a great guide. Just to clarify: although the title of the excursion is "Gourmet Food and Wine Tour", it is primarily aimed at the wine-tasting experience, but with each of the 3 wineries we visited advising how each of their wines are best paired-up with certain types of food. (Kennedy Point; Batch Winery; Casita Miro). I will also add that we are not "wine buffs" by any stretch of the imagination, but we still very much enjoyed the whole experience. Lunch was a tapas style at the Casita Miro and was very nice. I mentioned that we visited 3 vineyards, but, in addition, we visited a great little whisky/beer making facility (The Heke Kitchen, Brewery & Distillery) and had a tasting there; Ananda are in the process of deciding whether to adopt this venue as a regular part of the tour, so were keen to see how it went down with the punters - and we all loved it! The full day all went very smoothly and ran bang on time. All in all very enjoyable.
We’ve just completed this fabulous wine and gourmet food tour with Ananda Tours. Our guide for the day was Michael, his knowledge of the island was extensive and we all really appreciated and enjoyed his wonderful sense of humour. We caught the Fuller Reserve Ferry as instructed and Michael greeted us as we disembarked. We visited two wineries, a whiskey distillery (who also crafted local beers) and finished off the day with the most delicious lunch at Casita Miro, another local winery with Spanish style wines, tapas and shared plates. I highly recommend the tour and hopefully Michael is your guide for the day.
On our full day gourmet food and wine tour, we visited three wineries on the beautiful island of Waiheke. Each winery was different from the previous, and we received a good mix of different wine qualities from each vineyard. The wine and food were delicious, and everyone at the wineries was knowledgeable and welcoming. Our driver and guide Craig did a wonderful job of helping make sure we had a smooth day. At the end of the day, he recommended we stop by a different winery to round out our day on Waiheke Island. A visit to Waiheke Island is a must-do while visiting, and this tour is a great way to experience it.
Fleur was fantastic. As a resident Waiheke islander, her insights and shared knowledge of the island and its history, past and present was wonderful.
We had a lovely time exploring the island of Waiheke with our guide Paul. While seeing the beauties of the island (paired with excellent food/wine options), we also enjoyed learning from our guide throughout. We would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the island. What a great way to spend the day!
We are both born and bred Aucklanders and have been to Waiheke many times over the years, but always to specific events or locations. Being driven around the island by Fleur, our lovely guide for the day, made us realise how beautiful and interesting the island is as a whole, particularly how the wine and olive industries started and have developed. The vineyards we visited were all brilliant, each with their own character and stories, and with very friendly and knowledgeable hosts and staff. In all it was a very easy, fun and well organised day and we have already recommended the tour to our Auckland based friends!
This was our first activity in New Zealand and it set the tone for the rest of our trip. We had a wonderful knowledgeable tour guide who kept us engaged through the tour. We visited 3 or 4 wineries and had a lovely lunch and olive oil tasting. The views, as we meandered through the island were spectacular. This was a small group tour and we had a wonderful group of people. The van was very comfortable. To top it off it was an absolutely beautiful day.
Jo was our tour guide for the half day and she drove us all around Waiheke Island. We went to Mudbrick Cellars, Allpress Olive Oil, Kennedy Estate Wines and had a huge platter lunch at Wild Estate. We shopped at Timmy Smith art gallery and bought a necklace that she made.
It is another world on the island, a great city escape! A great mix of vineyards and the views were spectacular. Casita Miro was a lovely spot with a lovely lunch and family story. Loved the mosaics!
Steve, our guide, was excellent from start to finish, friendly, welcoming, informative and a great driver. His commentary did not miss a beat, and his enthusiasm for life on Waiheke and its history was infectious. We had a fabulous day on a beautiful island, visiting three wineries - Kennedy Point, Batch, and Castila Miro - all quite different in their own ways, but each outstanding. Thanks Steve and Ananda!
