The Inside Loop: An Electric Bike Tour Of Auckland's Coolest Neighborhoods

We always do a guided bike tour when we get to a new city so we have done many. I didn’t give it 5 stars because we have been on others that were more comprehensive and saw more sights. This one passed through many neighbourhoods in order to get to the top of Mt Eden and that was execellent for getting a good view of the entire Auckland area. Then we rode back. Our guide, Dennis gave us lots of good information on the way and we felt very safe on the roads. It was our first time having a radio intercom in our ears so that Dennis could keep talking while we rode and that was helpful. The e-bikes certainly made it easy to climb Mt Eden. I recommend this tour for getting an excellent view of the entire area and seeing some of the city on the way. Dennis took many photos of us but we haven’t received them as yet.

Dee is is the best Ebike coach and travel guru you can have. He is patient, extremely friendly and forgiving and revealed the best of Auckland in the time we spent. Best.

What an amazing e-bike tour of Auckland! We loved it! Quality bikes, amazing safe and extensive cycle path network all around Auckland and Eddie was a brilliant guide! He took us up to Mount Eden (volcano) and the views were out of this world! His commentary was great. When we are back in Auckland we would love to do another of his tours, thanks Eddie and thanks also for the comprehensive list of restaurant and cafes recommendations!

Best e-bike tour of our trip! Our guide, Eddie was a wonderful guide; knowledgeable, fun with a friendly calm energy. The e bikes were top quality - very comfy and easy to use. The headsets were a great idea so we could always hear Eddie. Auckland is very bike friendly which makes it easier to travel this way. It is quite hilly so e bikes are the way to go. Great use of your time to do a tour. I highly recommend this tour.

We were on a New Zealand cruise, and pre-booked this bike trip tour. Finding the shop where Power to the Pedal is located was easy. It’s just off the ship as you walk towards the port. It was a fabulous and easy trip. We love these electric bikes. I wish there would’ve been room for us to do the classic longer tour because we loved this. We safely road through the city up to the top of the nearest volcano and down. We would totally do this again and loved Eddie’s comments and touring expertise.

Was a blast, the tour guide Eddie was absolutely hilarious, saw so much of the city I would have never seen. If you have time in Auckland, it is a must do, the bikes were badass and the trails, especially the downhill heading back downtown was amazing, would do the tour again in a heartbeat.

We had a good time on our tour and Matt was very knowledgeable. He was great at letting us know where to ride, when turns were coming up and at keeping our group together.

Eddie the owner & guide is a fantastic host and made our trip so much fun! Our group was 5 and several of us were first time riders he gave great instructions and took us on a great tour starting at the harbor that was a buzz of activity as the Gran Prix was sailing that day, then looping around Auckland and back to the pier. Eddie takes photos along the way and sends you a link afterwards at No Added fee! For anyone coming in on a cruise ship you’ll find Power to the Pedal a short 5 minute walk down the pier - so easy! He also points out many great shops and restaurants along the way so you can enjoy Auckland just like a local! This tour will be a favorite I’m sure and it’s a great value too!

Perfect way to start our visit to New Zealand. Thank you Matthew for your informative stories and humor. This was a perfect way to fight through our jet lag after 24 hours of travel, haha. Appreciate your restaurant suggestions as well! Eddie was very helpful with all our questions in the days and weeks before our tour. Highly recommend this to anyone as an introduction to Auckland. We were able to see so much more by bike.

My sister and I absolutely loved our eBike tour with Power To The Pedal. It was such a fun and easy way to explore Auckland, and the eBikes made getting around effortless while still feeling active. Our guide, Eddie, was excellent—friendly, knowledgeable, and really engaging. He shared interesting local history and insights, made sure everyone felt comfortable and safe, and kept the tour enjoyable from start to finish. We saw parts of Auckland we never would have found on our own, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our time in New Zealand. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Auckland!

My husband and I were lucky enough to have Carson give us a fantastic tour around Auckland. As cyclists, we quickly adapted to the e-bikes, enjoying how easy it was to ascend and descend. We rode almost 17 miles, saw many neighborhoods, homes and sights. Carson tailored the tour to best suit our abilities and what we had already seen, and took a number of photos that were shared with us.

Carson was an absolutely fantastic tour guide! This tour is easily the best way to experience both the heart of Auckland and its charming inner suburbs. A really thoughtful touch was Carson taking photos throughout the trip and providing us with a GPS map video showing our route.

It was such a great experience! I loved the history, the views, and the bike made it super easy to get around. We were lucky with the weather, which really made me appreciate Auckland even more. The host was fantastic; funny, thoughtful, and even adjusted our time to suit the weather. I also loved that he took photos of us along the way. Eddie is a fantastic and knowledgeable guide. He knows the roads really well and it shows with how he kept us safe at all times. At the end he even gave us a sheet of places to visit which was really helpful. The ear piece provided was awesome and all operators should do it as it makes it really easy to hear the guide whilst riding.

We received a prompt response from Eddie, who was able to accommodate our last minute reservation request. The bicycles are in great shape. Carson was our guide and he shared a lot of information about the city and about the culture of Auckland and of new zealand. We felt safe the whole time, all the equipment worked, and we highly recommend this activity and business. Thanks to Carson for the great ride! (We added that red bell pepper to a salad- it was delicious!)

My wife and I had a fabulous afternoon with Carson. We had never ridden e-bikes before and he explained clearly what we needed to do to get the most out of our ride. Once we were on our way we had a commentary of the areas we were riding through, which we really enjoyed. The best part though, was the ride itself. We highly recommend it for a fun afternoon.

The best way to see the City of Auckland and our Guide Eddie, gave us a truly fantastic tour of his home town. Starting with a very professional safety briefing, he guided us on our e-bikes through the highlights of Auckland City. His situational awareness in relation to keeping everybody safe and his indepth knowledge about locations and general history, were extraordinaire. Eddie and this e-bike tour deserve a clean 10 out of 10!

Had a great tour today biking around the city. Our guide Carson was fantastic and very knowledgeable about facts and information. If you had a question he had no problem answering it. Very concerned about our safety and had his first aid kit out to help one of riders! You don’t have to be an expert rider to enjoy this tour.

What an excellent tour of Auckland. Carson gave us a good introduction to get started and the radio commentary throughout was a nice touch to allow everyone to hear him no matter where they were riding. Bikes were in good shape and the route was very safe; mostly on separate paths, but always at least a bike lane.

Carson did a fabulous job. He explained the areas. We stopped along the way. As you ride he tells you about the sights. Most of all he keeps you safe as you ride on the left. Would definitely recommend

Awesome way to get a feel for the city and the E-bike makes it so easy with the hills. Leave it off to burn all the calories you like or engage it to take a nice break and just cruise up the hills. Our guide Carson was fantastic and I’ll take the tour again if I’m ever back around this way!

Last minute booking was not disappointed :) Carson our guide was awesome . Friendly, knowledgeable and easy to understand instructions for someone who had never ridden an enoke before. We road out to the bridge and the up Mt Eden ( which was a tough climb made easier by the electric boost.) So worth it for the fabulous views. Easier ride back down and great overview of restaurants and cafes to Check out later. Thanks for a great afternoon ride.

This is one of the best tours I've done! Our guide Eddie was friendly, professional, knowledgable and took us to so many places I wouldn't have explored by foot. We received headsets so as we were riding we could listen to the history and local intel of Auckland. It also made it easy to ride as Eddie gave clear directions when having to veer right, turn corners, speed up/slow down etc. At the end we even received a handout Eddie had put together with all his rec's of the local cafes and restaurants. I'd choose to do this again in a heartbeat and have told all my friends and family about it.

Loved this bike tour. Eddie was a wonderful guide. Use of the microphone under the helmet made it so easy to hear the commentary ad we rode along. So much fun to travel to. Mount Eden.

Eddie was a great tour guide/trip leader! We are in our mid sixties and felt safe as he was very clear with his directions and he let us know what to expect next as we navigated the bike lanes across town. Headsets and helmets were provided as was a place to store our bag/backpack on each bike. He gave a good orientation to our e-bike and safety procedures and provided time to get accustomed to it before we started out. We should have taken this trip at the beginning of our visit to Auckland as he was very knowledgeable about the neighborhoods we biked through as well as New Zealand history. Thanks Eddie for a fun adventure!

I loved the e-bike tour! Lots of fun! Our guide Eddie knew the history of the city. It was my first ride on an e-bike. Eddie explained everything, we tried it out, then went touring.

Our guide Eddie provided us very interesting facts and history of Auckland and NZ, through one way radio headsets. It was great to be provided photos and videos from our guide at the end of the ride. Highly recommended.

Carson guided us through a @20km loop in and around Auckland. The tour was an incredible way to experience some of the top sights and learn about some off the beaten path neighborhoods. Carson is a great guide. We loved the ride!

Carson did an amazing job! We were all inexperienced at electric bikes and he explained everything so it easy to learn and feel comfortable. He was a great tour guide and told us all about the history of the different areas. 2.5 hours was perfect, just enough time to get a good overview of the city without exhausting us.

The route was a fantastic way to experience Auckland’s harbor, parks, and neighborhoods. Carson made sure we were comfortable with the e-bikes and the earpieces were really helpful as he coached us through the route. We learned so much about the various parts of the city and got to see areas we otherwise wouldn’t have had a chance to visit. Some of the spots were a little challenging so folks should be comfortable with bicycling on roads etc. I highly recommend this tour!!!

Had a wonderful ride with Eric on the e-bikes. It’s a nice tour of a number of urban areas in Auckland. Some parts on a dedicated bike path; some on a street bike path. Eric did a great job explaining how to use the e-bikes (first time for us) and we were off!

Carson was a great guide. We had never ridden e bikes before and he was a good instructor and made sure all were comfortable before taking off. We were glad to have the headset— this is our first bike tour that had that - and it allows you to cover a lot more ground since you can get commentary as you ride rather than having to stop so much. The bikes are excellent and easy to use. We saw a lot of the city and leaned a lot
