Maungawhau / Mt Eden is one of Auckland’s most visited maunga (mountain) with over one million visitors each year. Many walkways lead to the tihi (summit) and spectacular views over the city and Waitematā Harbour. Some tracks are stony and steep. Be sure to stick to formed paths.

Your tour will continue with brief stopover at Archilles point, for spectacular views of downtown Auckland, Waiheke and Rangitoto Islands.
Devonport is a relaxed bayside village with upscale cafes and seafood restaurants and as well as classic kiwi pubs and fish & chips shops. The volcanic cone of North head has spectacular views of Rangitoto Island on one side and Auckland city on the other. You can explore the village and try kiwi style fish & chips or the famous homemade Devonport chocolates with a walk around North head. Food & Drinks costs extras.

Our group of 6 adults ended a cruise in Auckland and we wanted to take a private tour of the City and surrounding areas. We were fortunate to find the Black Car tour. It included many interesting stops. Our driver, Kris, was very accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable. He went the extra mile by meeting us at the pier and taking our luggage to our hotel then returning to pick up the rest of our group. We had many stops during the 5+ hours of the tour and never rushed us at any of the stops. Kris shared his extensive knowledge of New Zealand and Auckland. The Mercedes vehicle was comfortable and just the right size for our group. At the end of our tour, Kris helped us arrange a transfer to the airport and picked us up the next morning. It was one of the best tour experiences we've had. Thank you, Kris!!
Kris picked our group of 6 up from the cruise ship terminal. We had a very comfortable tour in his Mercedes Touring Van. Kris is very knowledgeable about the history of Auckland. He took us to so many beautiful and interesting places in Auckland. We had an amazing tour. He is very friendly. He gave us plenty of time at each stop to see the area and take pictures. We had many questions about this area. He answered all of our questions. This private tour was so much better than the big bus tours offered by the cruise ship. I highly recommend this tour!
We had the pleasure of taking the Auckland city tour with Kris in his black luxury Van, from the minute he picked up from the hotel he was amazing with the onboard amenities of cold bottles of New Zealand spring water, on board Wifi to enable us to upload our pictures! This private tour was perfect for the four of us. Kris is a very good communicator. He had an excellent plan for showing us the best of Auckland. He picked us up in a large Mercedes 8 passenger van, pristine condition with waters for everyone. Some of the high points were a visit to Cromwell Park, One Tree Hill, Mount Eden, Devonport, and Bastion Point. We were treated to beautiful views of the city and was able to take great pictures. Kris shared his tremendous depth of knowledge of the city's history and the Maoris who settled there. We've taken a lot of tours and Kris rates a 10 out of 10! Wonderful day!!

Kris is so personable and friendly. He made us feel at home in Auckland. He trouped up to the top of Mt Eden with us despite a torrential downpour. He came prepared for the day with brollies and towels. He listened to us and customized our tour. He even brought snacks! We traveled on to Sydney and Melbourne and often wished Kris was with us to show us the way! I highly recommend a tour with kris. 🤩
Kris picked up of at the cruise terminal if a beautiful Mercedes luxury van that handle 4 adults and luggage. After we dropped off our luggage at the hotel, we were off. We saw beautiful views of the city and harbor from many unique locations. Kris is the ultimate host and knows so many details of the city. Thoroughly enjoyed our tour.
This tour was fabulous! We did not know exactly what time we’d be able to disembark our cruise ship, but Kris was there early so we wouldn’t have to wait. He was extremely accommodating, asking us what we preferred to see and do. The day was totally customized for the four of us. His vehicle was very comfortable and he had snacks and beverages for us. This tour by Black Car Transfers and Tours is customisable, Chris knows all the hidden attractions around Auckland. He is aware of the limitations that seniors face and made our tour to suit with less walking and access to sights that we could not have seen otherwise. We were a group of 4 adults in our 70’s and appreciated the history and the constant witty conversation from Chris. Would recommend this company and will use their services again.
Kris drove us around Auckland and gave us an incredible tour. He is most knowledgeable and designed the tour to give us an overview of the city. Our driver, Kris, who owns the business, had an engaging personality with a good sense of humor and some strong opinions. He had a list of places that he had picked for us to visit but readily accommodated a couple of additions we requested. All the stops he had planned were interesting and many provided incredibly beautiful scenic views of Auckland and its environs. We saw some interesting inner city neighborhoods, Ponsonby and Parnell and visited OneTree Hill which is sacred to Maori. We had lunch in lovely harbor village of Davenport at a very nice restaurant suggested by Kris. It was an excellent way to see parts of the city outside the CBD where we stayed. We will use Kris again if we return to Auckland.

Le guide a été fantastique et très accommodant. Il a permis à notre fille de s’assoir à l’avant puisqu’elle a le mal des transports et il est venu nous porter à notre hébergement à la toute fin. Il y a eu plusieurs arrêts qui ont été superbes. En sommes, nous avons aimé Kris, il a beaucoup d’entregent et nous avons pu manger notre lunch dans la voiture puisqu’il y avait beaucoup d’arrêts afin de bien voir Auckland dans toute sa splendeur. Un grand merci !
