Very Very Very over priced. Paid $350 for a family. Very disappointing and wouldn't recommend. Probably suited to small kids. But even still - the aquarium be money better spent. Even after asking - we were advised it was suitable for teens ... and it is not! Would have been ok if maybe like $100 -$150 for a family. Extreme rip off in my opinion. Some elements were ok, but not worth the money. Crazy pricing! Puzzle room was a complete disaster.

Itinerary
Upon entering Odyssey Sensory Maze Auckland you'll be greeted by our friendly customer service representatives. A member of the customer service team will then begin to get you prepared to enter into our world of a-maze-ment including a full safety briefing as well as storing your personal items safely away in a locker for you to collect upon completing the maze. We'll also be happy to explain to you what you can expect to experience inside the maze but we like to keep the maze a bit of a mystery so we won't tell you everything you'll find... we'll leave that for you to discover on your journey. Once you're fully informed and prepared for the maze you'll then be left to enter the maze and explore each of our 12 rooms at leisure.

High price for what it is . We paid $75 pp for the Maze, and the escape room puzzle trying to disarm bomb and the dream room . 4 people . On a positive note , the staff were excellent I felt . FULL MARKS TO THE STAFF - VERY FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL. Not worth $300 value really . It’s a lot and the overall experience pretty average . If you have lots of spare cash and it’s a rainy day , maybe worth doing . My average rating is just that - average
Has potential, but is wildly overpriced for what’s there - some very cool bits and some very average run down bits - done and dusted within 12 mins. It starts off good, and it has its moments throughout - but some rooms feel like high school students have created them. Some sections seem pointless like the miniature diorama and the spider web bit. As I said - the potential is there, and it seems crazy not making it a real destination in Auckland ..as we really lack stuff like this - I was half expecting a homegrown smaller Tokyo TeamLABS. .
Very cool, a little overpriced but was good.
Lots of fun in all the different rooms and a great rainy day activity but over in half an hour. Although this did mean we were able to explore the surrounding shops before heading off to see more of Auckland. Definitely worth paying for the 3D glasses.
The price appears high for what is provided. Even though we took our time and followed the recommended pace, the experience felt too short and lacked real sensory involvement. The goggles aren't particularly valuable since they only blur the lights and the environment, but the effects are minimally helpful. It would be better if they added movement or sounds, made it more challenging, or lowered the price to match the actual experience.
Absolutely do the 1 hour unlimited. This was WAY beyond our expectations. So fun!!! 7/10&11 year olds (and me in mid 40s) all were able to easily partake and it was amazing.
Don't waste your time or money. Very over priced and cheeky of them to ask you to pay for the "special glasses" on top of admit fee. Without the glasses the rooms look very normal. Over all the "maze" rooms seem very dated, cheaply put together and just tacky. Very quick to finish each room as they are not captivating or interesting.
I thought it was overpriced. In reality you get through it in 15 minutes so I do think either it should be made longer or the price should reflect the time spent in the activity.
It’s not actually a maze; there is only one correct path. This misnomer is an issue because my girlfriend accidentally went through an Emergency Exit door and missed part of the experience. I went the correct way but we got separated. Ultimately we broke up.
Can take good 30 mins for you to enjoy all of it. Just felt like it’s overstimulating and too enclosed for the space. Came here for our autistic boy to experience with us. He did enjoy over all, with a few pauses.
This was such a surprisingly good experience. Each area is totally different. It’s engaging, fun, unique and the staff were wonderful. I’d highly recommend for families or the young at heart.
Doing it for the first time, some of the rooms are novel and entertaining but the experience is over pretty quickly and I would have loved more. I would definitely say that for younger kids and teens, the experience is a lot of fun so I would suggest coming in a group with your kids and their mates to make it more fun. As you can do the maze multiple times, it will keep them busy for a while. The Doom Room, which you need to pay extra for, was a fun experience but thought it was overpriced for something lasting 666 seconds. I doubt many adults will be scared but I do admit it was fun.
The revamped Odyssey is okay but not as good as before; the kids and I loved the old version, but the new rooms are less interactive, so we spent less time and didn't feel it was worth the entry fee.
Fascinating :P definitely worth your while, I particularly enjoyed the fact the maze combined elements of sci-fi, ancient Egypt and Jules Verne -like exploration spaces 😎
A really fun experience! So many unique activities/challenges that test your senses! Kids want to go back :) Took us about 30 mins to complete
What a great time. My wife and I , both seniors had a great time in this maze. We went through each section and were disappointed when the last door led to the Lobby. Recommend this maze to all age groups.
What a fun place to go with kids and spend half a day If you are a game lover it's much more fun Highly recommend
It is bit short for $90 per family. As the bookings were scheduled for the same hour. There were 4 families crawling thru the maze and bumping in to each other at the same time. I am sure the handed over white gloves were used and not sanitary.
A great option for kids of all ages including adults! The maze itself is rather short so best to go through it twice if you can. The staff are very friendly and always happy to help!
The experience was unique and felt like an adventure, I wish there were more things to do. But I had lots of fun and customer service was pleasant.
Love it, so much fun for everyone. I mentor kids and it’s so good for them to switch off from the world for a moment and have some fun.
I went in and got about 3/4 way through at which point there was a group in front of us and then a group behind us. The group behind us then went in front of us and held us up only to find out the whole time a fire alarm in the building had been going off. There was only one staff member at the desk who was in charge of looking after the multiple groups they told us to wait when we requested to collect our things back as we didn't want to leave with no shoes with the potential fire in the building. There was no warning of the fire alarm when we were in the maze and no lights turned on. Very poor.
Fun day out, great location and great experience and friendly staff :) Will definitely visit again :D
The experience was awesome, something so different and out of the ordinary! I did think the price was a bit steep for 30min entertainment
Super cool experience! Great staff who was both friendly and helpful. Well worth a check out if you have some free time.
Lots of different rooms. Something for (nearly) all the senses. Some classic mirror mazes, and some other more unusual things. Great for teens and adults, might be trickier for the younger kids. Was a great time. Friendly staff. Took our time and were there for about an hour and a half
Super expensive for what it is. I took two six year olds and paid over $60 for about 20min in the maze. They had fun but it was way too short. Wouldn’t go back and probably wouldn’t recommend.
Fun for the whole family. If you have trouble moving and aren't very flexible then maybe not for you. Other than that, was very fun
Awesome fun. Its a little hard to find, but once you are there, the staff were great, it was organised and efficient and the experience started straight away with the ambience and noise. They take a group photo if you want one and then you're in!! I'm not saying any more because the fun is all in the not knowing. Wished it was a little longer, but would definitely go back
So fun, deffinitely will come back here with other friends actually managed to get quite lost in the mirror maze
Great rainy day time-filler for families, and convenient Queen St location. You need to buy the hour-long multiple entry pass to get any real value as it only took us 20 minutes or so to go through the maze once. We got slightly discounted tickets through bookme.co.nz but it still worked out at $70 For 2 adults and 1 child so not sure I would pay that again. Probably more worth $40 for the three of us for the quality of experience and time it took. We took Master five and it was the right level of scary and fun - even physically challenging for mum and dad in parts. Lots of dark rooms with lights, ball pits, foam pits and obstacles to navigate all with sounds, smells and music. The mirror room and balloon spaces were heaps of fun and it was well designed and themed although starting to look tired and worn in a few places and could probably use some TLC. You have to leave all personal belongings at the entry including phones and shows, and they give you gloves (for health and safety I guess) and cardboard 3D glasses to wear which enhance the experience of the lights inside. Glasses and gloves were way too big for our boy but he kept them on with minimal fuss. Staff were super friendly and helpful - they were the standout of the experience for sure! Thanks team :)
I think its just for kids. For me 23 yo, it was boring. . ……………………………………………………………..i need to reach min 100 characters to finish my comment
My 7-year-old daughter and I absolutely loved it as a bonding activity. We paid for an hour and got to make more than one entry. Prices are reasonable and good family activity.
Was absolutely amazing, would highly recommend to family and friends to stop in when in Auckland. Prices are reasonable and way worth the money especially when you pay for the hour entry as you can go in as many times as you wish.
Highly recommend for any child especially adhd! Maybe a option for headphones would be great only because my son squealed heaps in excitement! Lots of fun, can feel claustrophobic as told by my daughter. Fitness level you will sweat!! Lol.
Mirror Maze pushed my boundaries in a good way, the forest and balloons were lovely, I wanted more dark spaces , friendly chap on reception doing everything needs to be paid more.
It was an awesome experience but a shame we weren't allowed to take phone to take photos inside I recommend u filming or taking photos of people and charge a price if they wish to have them for themselves.
Was a great new experience. Seemed quite short,... other than that good to say we tried it. Best part was the mirror maze.
My teenage boys and my 7yr old and there group of friends had a great time. They would have done it again straight after.
The maze was really cool with lots of cool visuals but lasted all of 2 minutes which we thought was pretty stink!
Loved it! Definitely recommend the glasses. The mirror room was a great laugh. We spent a lot of time in there getting lost
Great sensory experience for any ages. However it does need a larger gap between each group so you’re not worried about catching up to the group in front and the group behind you doesn’t rush your experience.
Great activity for a family of all ages (aside from babies) It was an all together new experience for us that we thoroughly enjoyed. We booked and paid for an hour, so we were able to go through the maze as many times as we wanted.
We loved that we got to experience something so different from balloons to mini balls to giant balls darkness smells and touching getting through to the next part of the maze. Amazing
So awesome, would love to go to the one in Queenstown now. The mirrors took us a while to get through. Such a different thing to do with the family.
Queenstown odyssey maze staff kicked us out after we paid for the combo smash it plus sensory maze deal. Smash it was not worth the money and then we had to wait an hour for her to sort the maze. Then she accused us of smoking weed outside after we came back from a cigarette. Proceeded to kick us out and gave us less than 40% of our payment back
Had a great time there and loved all the different rooms! Was fun crawling around and playing with the stuff in each room. Would be nice if some of the rooms were longer, especially the dark room and the mirror room.
Was an amazing experience. Very different to anything I've ever done. Will definitely go back. 10/10
It was very fun and a great visual experience. If I were to come back I would definitely bring a lot more people
