We had an awesome tour with Liz! She’s a wonderful local guide who is so knowledgeable, professional, and fun to walk this beautiful city’s streets . We visited some great spots too. Two favorites were ViVace( we’re returning for dinner) and great chocolates at Cocoa Wilds! Thanks so much for our introduction to Auckland!

We had a wonderful informative passionate guide Alex. We learnt so much about Auckland and were shown some amazing hidden gems. Would highly recommend anyone do this tour, even locals.
I had the most amazing morning. Our guide, Alex was incredible, her local knowledge and passion for the history and culture of the area was amazing. I could not have asked for a better introduction to Auckland city. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Auckland.
Debbie did a great job communicating before the tour. This was appreciated because it was our first day in NZ. We saw the highlights and had some good chocolate and wine. We learned facts and information that we have continued to use during our travels in NZ.
We loved the walking tour! Alex pointed out lots of things we would miss if we were just traveling on our own. Her knowledge of Auckland is fabulous. We had a great time and appreciate all we saw and heard. Thank you!
Alex was a terrific guide. Full and interesting knowledge of Auckland’s hidden secrets and cultural heritage. Great pit stops for coffee and chocolates.
The guide, Liz, was very helpful about all the information through out Auckland and taught us information about its past, local areas to eat, shop, etc. Every question we had was answered, and we overall had a great time.
Liz was a terrific guide and gave us lots of great tips about Auckland ! We had just landed from the US and she kept us interested and awake when we needed it. Thx Liz!! Sue Susan Carolyn and christi
Had the best time with Debbie on our walking tour of Auckland. She took us to historical parts of the city, giving us information at every stop. She pointed out new buildings and how they came about. She took us to several different food sites where we got to sample some coffee and chocolate. When the tour was over we made sure to go back and visit a museum She had pointed out to us and eat at a restaurant on a street She mentioned had great food. Overall, an awesome way to get introduced to a new city.
Great walk with Anna. She is very knowledgeable about the history of Auckland and was eager to share. Definitely happy we took the walking tour!
Liz was our tour guide for the day. She was awesome! Very knowledgeable of the city and its history. Highly recommend Liz! We loved it.
Having Liz give us her personalized tour saved us so much time and gave us an awesome appreciation of Auckland. Her easy style put us at ease immediately. She made it clear the 3 hours were ours, and only wanted to do what we wanted to do. Liz mixed in Auckland History I have a question and Maori culture with insights on great places to eat and shop. The planned stops were well timed, comfortable and tasty. Our time together went fast and we feel like we have a new friend. We recommend this tour highly.
Alex was our guide for a 3 hour private walking tour of Auckland. It was a great experience! She covered an incredible amount of historical and cultural info during the tour and shared a wide variety of insights and information. Highly recommended.
Anna was a great guide. She is very knowledgeable and you can tell she loves what she does. She shared a lot about the culture, even talked about the common foods. Being with Anna gave us a great introduction to our 4 weeks to come in New Zealand.
This was so much fun and we learnt so much about our own city. Beautiful art works in places I’d never noticed before. Liz had lots of knowledge and was really fun to walk with.
We landed in Auckland early morning, February 14. Took a quick nap and met our guide Liz in our hotel lobby. Liz took us to several points of interest in Auckland, providing history and context along the way. It was fun and well paced tour. Liz is a knowledgeable and engaging guide. We stopped for a delicious croissant and coffee as part of the tour too! You’ll cover a lot of ground highly recommend Liz.
Excellent 3 hour walking tour that covered major sites in Auckland along with pretending historical context. Our guide, Anna was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and most importantly, fun! Highly recommend.
Wonderful tour with the effervescent and fascinating Alex. She kept a perfect pace, giving us wonderful summaries and tidbits of information, never bogging down. She knew so much about her city, and pointed out great details that even lifelong Aucklanders aren’t aware of. She clearly loves this city and her enthusiasm was contagious. This is a must do!
We love getting local knowledge that you just don’t get in guide books. Anna was absolutely brilliant, had her tour planned and adjusted it based on what we were interested in. A great way to be introduced to Auckland.

Well worth doing. Anna was a good host I would certainly recommend this tour to others. A good way to start a stay In Auckland
We had a terrific morning with Anna of Aucky Walky (fab name!). We especially loved all the additional hints and tips about what to do while in the City of Sails, the pit stop at Hotel DeBrett (a beautiful Art Deco hotel), and being introduced to Byron, the owner of Cocoa Wilds Chocolate, who makes delicious handcrafted chocolates. We enjoyed them so much that we went back and brought some home to the UK! We’ll remember the morning fondly when we enjoy these delights. 😋 Highly recommend!
Liz was knowledgeable and very personable. We covered a lot of ground both literally and topic wise. Liz had plenty of insider tips and answered all our questions. We really enjoyed the sweet treats too. After Liz’s walking tour, we wished we had more time to spend in Auckland because there is just so much to see and do!! Highly recommend!! Thanks, Sarah and Jo Mark

Anna was a fabulous guide. Delightful personality, incredibly informative in a very user friendly way and very responsive to our interests. Would recommend her and this Aucky Walky tour wholeheartedly.
Liz provided an excellent introduction to Auckland which gave us a good basis to make the best of our short time there. Her recommendations on things to do/where to eat were very useful. We finished the tour much more knowledgeable about New Zealand. The treat highlight was Cocoa Wilds which is the best chocolate store I have ever been in. Overall Liz was a very personable, insightful and an overall excellent guide.
We spent our first day in New Zealand with a walking tour with Anna and she provided a detailed history of Auckland and New Zealand that will serve as a strong basis for the balance of the trip as well as keen insights for our time left in Auckland. Thank you.
What a fantastic walking tour Liz did with us. She took us to a beautiful coffee shop and we talk some more about Auckland. Her tour was very interesting.
Really felt like we saw the heart but also special nooks and crannies of Auckland on this wonderful tour. Alex was very enthusiastic, definitely well-informed and had great little stories about history, culture and more. The treats along the way made it even a bit more extra special. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful time on our walking tour seeing spots we never would have found on our own. Our guide was friendly, entertaining and kept a great pace. Highly recommend
Great tour with Anna! We travel quite a lot and this tour was more informative than most. Lots of varied information; historical, cultural, suggestions for other things to do and restaurants to consider, etc. Open to all types of questions and answers demonstrated her knowledge of Auckland and overall New Zealand.
Liz is person who is both knowledge and passionate about Auckland and its people. Our walking tour covered a lot of local history through stories mixed with quick shout outs to local businesses we passed. Both expanded our enjoyment of Auckland and I would recommend this for everyone.
Hello, I want to apologize for being so tardy in writing a tour review. My husband and I were traveling on a cruise in march and had the pleasure of being on a tour with Liz. As it turns out, it was International Women’s Day and Liz was able to relate this to her Great grandmother, a leading suffragette in Auckland! Her personal stories and knowledge of Auckland and NZ make her the perfect ambassador for country, culture and your beautiful city. Of all places we visited during our month in NZ / AUS, Auckland (and Wahiki Island!) are two places I want to revisit. There is so much more to see and learn about and we want to Thank Liz for such a memorable and informative tour. I use the kiwi bag she gave to the ladies on tour and gladly say where I got it and mention Aucky Walky. Top notch experience. Until next time, Jana & Frank Deluca Surrey, British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦
We had a delightful time with Debbie and it was a great way to start our trip. The food was good and we were able to see many sights along the way. AND because it was part of my birthday trip, they gifted me a tote that I ended up using a lot. THANKS SO MUCH!
Debbie was a great guide and helped us understand all things about Auckland. We stopped for coffee along the way and also stopped for some chocolate treats at Cocoa Wilds, the latter being a must if you are in Auckland, fantastic chocolates to try and buy! Debbie provided some recommendations for after the tour which we have tried and they were excellent. Thanks again Debbie and team and would highly recommend this tour.
Liz was terrific. Very thoughtful tour guide. We have recently moved to Auckland and wanted to learn more about the City and its history. Liz was very knowledgeable and respectful of the city and gave great tips on the best places to shop and eat.
Anna gave us a great overview of the city including its history and the influence of the Māori people. We explored the harbor area and downtown. The focus was on the significance of the local artwork and how Auckland developed over time. The treat stops were a bonus. We did a lot of walking and the route included some hills, so wear comfortable shoes.
Wonderful walk around downtown Auckland with Anna. She took us to many interesting and unique locations, providing wonderful insights to the city and the culture of the peoples of Auckland and New Zealand.
On a rainy, dreary day Liz lit up the scene with her smile. She graciously gave us the complete tour, and was charming as we trudged along. Aukland is a great city, with many secrets that only locals know about. So glad we took this tour, it was fun to go back to see some amazing places and explore on our own.
Our tour guide Anna highlighted both the history and local flavor of the city and also spoke beautifully of the natural wonders and the people's efforts towards conservation and protection for the environment. She also celebrated Auckland's unique connection to the Maori people. We will definitely visit many of the locations she recommended as well as the ones we saw on the tour. P.S. Anna if you're reading this - please send us the group picture!
Wow! Such an awesome tour around the city. We learned so much while having such a good time. From chocolates to hidden hotels to incredible museum art. Such a great adventure!
We thoroughly enjoyed out tour with Jo. We only had one day in Auckland and it was a great way to spend the morning. She has convinced me that I need to go back and spend more time. She was interesting and knowledgeable. I seriously could have spent the whole day with her.
This tour was the perfect way to kick off our 9 day journey through New Zealand! Liz is the warmth of the New Zealand personified and incredibly informed about the history of her beloved country. It was raining the entire time and we still had so much fun! That’s how good it was. If you are coming to Auckland do not skip Aucky Walky tours. You will find nothing better.
We loved having Debbie take us all over the Central Business District on our first day in New Zealand. We walked all over the city, she took us to a local grocery store to show us local foods people buy, along with tea at Hotel DeBrett. She is a great guide.
Guide Anna was fantastic in both her knowledge of Auckland and her friendly demeanour. It was apparent that Anna loves giving these tours as she was very engaging and happy to answer any questions thrown at her. It was a well organized tour and I highly recommend seeking out Aucky Walky tours if you are visiting Auckland. In fact make sure you do this tour at the start of your visit as Anna provided a lot of useful information that will help you better enjoy your time in Auckland.
It was the perfect introduction to Auckland. Anna provided a great balance of historical and cultural information while giving us the lay of the land and highlighting places to see. It was a delightful afternoon
Liz led us on a fun and informative tour of Auckland, whilst giving us interesting details regarding the Māori culture, traditions and customs.
A great intro to Aukland! Try and get this tour near the beginning of your stay in Aukland. We could not get an opening (it's very popular) until the end of our stay but still worth it. It's nice to get away from the hustle and bustle in the touristy areas and see where the locals eat and shop. I highly recommend Walky Auky!
We had a really wonderful morning exploring Auckland with a true local. Liz our guide was warm, welcoming, informative and interesting. She had all the inside knowledge of a true native and took us to places we would never have known to stop and look at. Art, culture, history…it was all there plus some truly lovely bonus touches with treats! She’s a lovely lady and we enjoyed our morning in her company and took away a raft of information as well as a positive experience of Auckland. A great ambassador for her city! Don’t hesitate to book this tour. Highly recommend.
