We were picked up at our hotel right on time and our guide, Adile, was very knowledgeable and gave good tips for Hobbiton but also around the area as passed landmarks on the highway. He was very friendly and used a microphone when talking to the passengers insuring everyone in the van could hear.

Warren was an outstanding guide and the tour was one of our favorite ever. It was a truly fun and pleasing experience.

Beautiful and stunning scenery. Even if you’ve never seen the movies you’ll enjoy this place. We were spoiled with fantastic blue sky. Guides keep groups separate so no bunching up.

We went with an 8 month old baby and it was wonderful! Jon was friendly and helpful and the whole experience was magical. Thank you!

Hobbiton is a fantastic place to visit even if you aren't a fan of LOTR. We had absolutely horrible weather but it didn't diminish how great visiting the location was. Our driver, Clint, was very friendly and knowledgeable. He pointed out many points of interest even though the rain made it hard to see. It pretty much rained the entire time and it did get very muddy. I had waterproof hiking shoes on and the mud splatter made it to just above my ankles. Also, you will have to walk up quite a steep hill so keep that in mind if you're physically impaired. The only minus was that the minibus was full and it was a tight squeeze for the 2 plus hour ride from Auckland to the location of the movie set. All in all a wonderful experience.

This trip was great and loved our guide Gabrielle’s energy. The walking part was fun and not too taxing.

We had a phenomenal day out with Auckland & Beyond Tours! We were looked after by an absolute legend by the name of Jon. He was extremely knowledgeable and had great stories about New Zealand’s history’s. He really made our tour authentic and enjoyable. When we come back to NZ, we would want him to take us around again. Highly recommend!!!

Difficult to communicate with, they didn’t respond to cancellation in time and charged me $400 for the two of us. We got caught in the tropical storm on the South Island and couldn’t fly in. They didn’t respond in time and charged us.

Warren was very friendly and informative. During most of the drive, he spoke of various topics about maori culture, everyday in auckland and about landscape. Even if we booked for lord of the rings tour, i learned about new zealand in general as well. I particularly appreciated the time slot for hobbiton tour as it was quite early so less crowds and also you make it back in time for late lunch. would highly recommend them!

Awesome experience from the pick up to end of day exploration. The tour leaders were fun and informative, Hobbiton is totally worth the visit, and the pace of the trip was perfect!

The tour guide never showed up. I waited an hour and a half and kept calling the company who told me the driver was on their way. Finally they told me that the driver accidentally picked up the wrong people so we were out of luck and they would just refund us our money.

This was an excellent tour. Nancy was our guide and told us all about New Zealand on the bus ride to and from Hobbiton. Hobbiton itself was amazing. It was truly nice being there early before all the crowds. Bring your camera as you will many great photo opportunities.

Rami was a great tour guide and the tour itself is fantastic! We were there and back again! If you’re a fan of the films, then it’s a must! But even if you don’t care for the series, this tour will make you feel like a child or a hobbit again ❤️

Great experience! The grounds were lovely and the Hobbit holes were adorable! Our guides Aiman and Sol were professional and engaging. Highly recommend this activity, even for those not familiar with the Tolkien books.

The Hobbiton tour was a fun addition to our New Zealand & Australia vacation. Auckland & Beyond Tours arrived on time for our early access tour. Everything went as planned. I recommend both Hobbiton Movie Set tour and Auckland & Beyond Tours.

Long day getting to Hobbiton but so worth it! The scenery was breathtaking. Going early was a great decision: less crowded, clean restrooms, pictures without tourists in them. Our guide, Adil, gave us a history lesson on the ride and from as well as interesting tidbits. We saw a lot of animals and lush vegetation. He was friendly and polite.

We couldn’t buy tickets to Hobbiton (sold out) and not only did they get us tickets they picked us up. Jason was fantastic! He was knowledgeable and punctual! He made the 5 different nationalities on board all feel included. We’d use them again in a heartbeat

Warren was so fun to be around! He’s so friendly and takes good care of us. He lets us sleep on the way to the Shire which we were grateful for! It goes without saying that the Hobbiton was excellent. The views on the way to the set was exquisite. We stopped for ice cream on the way back. Looooved it. And we had a carpool karaoke on the way back to the hotel. What a fun energiser. 10/10 would go back to Auckland & Beyond. Keep it up guys!

I really enjoyed going to Hobbiton. Had an amazing experience. Peter picked us up in the hotel, took us to Hobbiton and drove us back. He was so nice at all times and during the 2h drives he would explain us interesting stuff about thr country and views.

The trip was Fantastic. We had a super nice the driver from Auckland that also explain us a lot about Auckland's History and knew a lot about Hobbiton. It was a very day!

Our guide Warren was very attentive during the whole day, by sharing his knowledge and interesting facts about the area. He also provided us with snacks and water. The tour was amazing, thank you for this day!

Had the best experience with this tour company. The hobbiton set is amazing but drive to and from with the best driver ever was cherry on top of the cake. The endless entertainment in the car had us all grooving. We also stop to a famous ice cream spot on the way back. Definitely booking all my tours with this company whenever I come to Auckland.

Comfortable travel, Warren is the best. Second was the Hobbiton tour.....amazing. The perfect day to be out enjoying the chill and sunshine together with the mist over the green grasslands.

We had the best time exploring the Hobbiton movie set and seeing beautiful New Zeland. Warren(Waza) kept us fully engaged and entertained telling us about New Zeland and how to pronounce Māori words correctly. He also made use feel very safe and he was so caring. Made sure he found us all before leaving and we were fed and hydrated. This tour and Warren was fantastic and we can’t wait to come back for more.Thanks Waza!

We took a small group tour to Hobbiton. Our transportation was clean and comfortable and our guide, Tanks was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating! Would highly recommend!

Loved this tour and getting there early, would definitely recommend it, we were the second group to tour Hobbiton before the crowds, got lots of great photos. Excellent driver Paul got us there quickly and was very knowledgeable.

Both our tour bus driver John and our tour guide at Hobbiton were excellent. The Hobbiton Set is beautiful and better than I imagined. Having a beer at the Green Dragon at the end was a nice touch.

Pick up was right on time. Tour was as expected. Return back to where we were picked up. Very smooth.

The tour of the set was excellent. The place is a well oiled machine from ticket office to bus ride etc. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the movies and all other aspects . The movie set was awesome and the gardens amazing . Even if you’re not a movie buff the experience and sheer brilliance of PJ et al is totally worth it . Having a drink ( free) at the Green Dragon 🐉 was fantastic.

I have wanted to do the Hobbiton Tour for many years now and in October 2018 it finally happened. I took my sister in law and my 3 year old daughter with me. We booked through Auckland XXX and it was so nice and easy. Early start from Auckland Pick up at a hotel in the City with a minibus which was very comfortable. They also had a kids seat even though I had not specifically requested one. Our guide Chris was fabulous. He told us about everything we saw on the drive there, very knowledgeable and also talked about life in general in NZ. He was entertaining and interesting. It was a 2 hour drive through the countryside. We had some snack and water on the bus. When we got to the Hobbiton we bypassed the queue and got our tickets. We were led around the path by a guide, in groups of about 10 I’d say. We were unlucky as it rained a little bit the day we were ther, but it was still stunning. My daughter loved that the houses were made for little people like her and loved going into the ones that were open to public. Our guide also told us interesting stories from the filming and explained everything really nicely. I had brought an umbrella pram/stroller for my girl but the paths were not really good for them, at least not in the rain. At the end of the tour there is a nice Inn where we had time to have a drink before we had to meet by the mini bus again. We had opted out of the meal onsite, but bought a little something at the café by the entrance/exit. We had an allocated timeslot at the Hobbiton and I felt it was adequate, we did not feel rushed which was good. I can really recommend this tour, even if you are not a huge fan of the films (I actually saw them AFTER my trip there…)

We had the best time on this tour. Our driver from Auckland to Hobbiton and back, David B, was accommodating, friendly and very knowledgeable. David pointed out many interesting things during the trip and made it fun. Hobbitown itself is beautiful and so fun -- especially if you are a fan of the Lord of the Rings stories!! This was one of the best tours I've ever participated in. I took a million photos!

Kiadra! Chris is an excellent tour guide, the most entertaining and friendly person from Auckland that I have met. He answered all questions thoroughly and without any hesitation! Looking forward to be meeting him again on my next visit to New Zealand!

mr.chris was amazing through out the journey the best man to have as an tour guide and Every little details he Know he shared with us.
