They were also very patient and made sure everyone had plenty of opportunities to take photos and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. You could really tell that Raymont and Steven love what they do, and their enthusiasm made the tour even more enjoyable. We had a great experience on our Klook day trip to Hobbiton, thanks to our guide, Jon! Jon arrived early at the pickup point ahead of schedule, which was a great start. He was very considerate of everyone, especially with the early morning pickup, allowing us some quiet time to catch up on sleep during the drive. He also thoughtfully scheduled a midway stop for a quick coffee and toilet break. As we made our way out of Auckland, Jon shared interesting insights about the city's key landmarks and attractions, adding a nice touch to the journey. We appreciated Jon's punctuality, thoughtfulness, and relaxed approach, which made the long drive comfortable and enjoyable. A great guide who clearly understands his guests' needs. Highly recommended!

Our tour driver was on time and had everything organized to get us there to the site. He narrated the whole way and then when we got to the movie set he had everything all organized and coordinated. It was a fantastic visit and absolutely something that a Lord of the rings and Hobbit fan would love. I was amazed at the amount of detail that was found at the site and all the information given to us. The Hobbit holes were fabulous to go into. Oh and the cafe at the beginning had the best muffins ever. And at the end great ale at at the end of the tour.

Job, our driver & guide, was pleasant. He met us 5 mins before pick up time, introduced himself properly, and was very accommodating. There was a couple with a stroller & he helped them all the time. It was nice. He drove us all safely to the Hobbiton set too! He never rushed us and always made sure to give us appropriate time to settle during the stopover and after the tour. He also provided us snacks and water which was great! Overall, 10/10 experience with Jon!

Our driver Adil was fantastic! He’s super kind, genuine, knowledgeable, and taught us just about everything there is to know about NZ history to keep us entertained on the drive to Hobbiton. He was very accommodating, allowing us to leave things in the bus while we experienced the tour, and dropped us off at a closer location to where we stayed rather than the pick up location. Couldn’t recommend it enough!

Loved guide Adil commentary on the trip up and back from Auckland to Hobbiton. It added so much, and gave me the exposure to the rural countryside I was seeking, but also knowing what I was seeing. He definitely gets five stars. Then we were turned over to the Hobbiton guide Nathan for the movie set tour and he was also amazing and full of insight and details.

We learn a lot about the history of New Zealand from Adil, who gave us quite an insights about New Zealand all throughout the trip while driving us to Hobbiton, he would slow down and point to us things that are unique to New Zealand. Auckland & beyond Tours can be depended upon for future tours that we need .

Jon, our tour operator was prompt and at the hotel at 5:59am! He was very friendly and got off the car and greeted us properly in the cold NZ weather. He was a very attentive person and remember every clients name! He drove perfectly and answered all our questions and shared knowledge willingly. I learnt something new from Jon- he showed us the white fern and gave us the history of it’s significance. Keep up the sterling service Jon, u made our tour memorable and enjoyable🙏🏽💕

We booked the Hobbiton Movie Set Tour with lunch, and we really enjoyed the whole experience. It was a wonderful opportunity to explore the famous Hobbiton Movie Set and learn more about how the movies were created. The tour starts at The Shire, which is the main starting point. Before your tour, you can take some time to browse the souvenirs or relax at the café. Once you have your ticket, you can wait comfortably until your tour time. When the tour begins, you’ll board the green Hobbiton transport vehicle, which takes approximately 5–7 minutes to reach the movie set. From there, you’ll enjoy a guided tour with a very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. You have the opportunity to explore Hobbiton, see the famous Hobbit houses, and even go inside one of the Hobbit homes. After the tour, you can enjoy a complimentary drink at The Green Dragon Inn. We tried the apple cider, but if you don’t drink alcohol, I recommend trying the non-alcoholic ginger beer. We also chose the lunch package and enjoyed the buffet. The mint lamb casserole with green salad was one of our favourites. There was also a dessert section with cakes and apple crumble. A few suggestions could make the lunch experience even more magical: * The dining area could be designed with more Hobbiton-style decorations, perhaps inspired by the Hobbit houses. * Plates, napkins, and other tableware could feature the Hobbiton or Lord of the Rings branding. * Playing the Hobbiton/Lord of the Rings film soundtrack softly in the dining area would create an even more immersive atmosphere. * The dessert selection could be upgraded with a wider variety of more themed or premium desserts rather than mainly basic cakes and apple crumble. These small touches could make the lunch feel like the perfect finale to an already unforgettable tour. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and one we highly recommend! If you’re a fan of The Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit, or simply want to experience something unique in New Zealand, Hobbiton is definitely worth visiting.

Had a great time and tour was lots of fun, regarless whether you are a LOTR fan, or not. A must if you like to witness the wilderness and charm of New Zealand for the first time. To top things up, Jon was a great bloke and took us back and forth in no time!

Heinrich, our driver and guide had a great personality and was very descriptive on the way to Hobbiton. Plus he arranged our tickets and was very careful to meet up with us after our tour. The tour of Hobbiton was terrific. What a beautiful farm with beautiful gardens and lush landscaping. It was done with a leisurely pace and our guide led us by the variety of Hobbit homes. He also explained how Hobbiton became a permanent part of the farm, which we thought was a stroke of genius on the part of the owner proposing a joint venture with Peter Jackson. It was beautifully done. The gardens, flowers and grass's, so meticulously maintained. The complete homes at the end of the tour were spectacular with so many incredible details.

Had a great time on this tour! Super easy and convenient pick up and drop off in downtown Auckland. Jon did an amazing job telling us a little about Auckland on our way to Hobbiton. He also handled our entrance ticket so we didn’t have to worry about anything other than showing up on time.

We had a great experience with the driver, Nancy, sharing information about NZ in the 2+hr drive from Aukland to the Hobbiton Movie Set. We had plenty of time to explore the grounds with the guide keeping us informed about the set. We got to go inside one of the houses and enjoyed a beer at The Blue Dragon, too!

Booked a private tour with Auckland and Beyond. Our driver/guide showed up to the hotel early and made it a GREAT day! Ask for Jon and you will be taken care of very well throughout the day. He was a great driver and very knowledgeable as well as fun.

The communications from the company were excellent and timely with pick up time precisely set. The driver, Adil, was excellent. He was polite timely, professional and a fountain of knowledge about the history of NZ and what to look out for as we completed the journey, pointing things out as they appeared. Great day trip to see the Hobbit holes. It’s a little pricey, but definitely worth the money for the experience. Raymond was a fantastic driver and guide — funny, knowledgeable, and clearly very familiar with the place. His insights made the trip even better. I won’t spoil the fun, but he gives some useful tips when you arrive at the destination. My advice: listen carefully! Those little tips really make a difference. The drive was also smooth and relaxing, which made the whole day even more enjoyable. Overall, a great experience and highly recommended.

Harton was wonderful. It is run like a well oiled machine beginning tours every 10 minutes. Our bus driver.Geoff was pleasant and informative. My biggest complaint is timing and seating. We signed up for the 6:00 AM pick up. They then sent us information saying that they would pick us up at 5:30 then I received a text the day prior saying it would be 6:00 AM pick up however on the previous email it had said that they would wait only five minutes and leave. Therefore we were there at 5:25 AM and the bus came approximately 6 AM however we were the nearly the last ones to be picked up and the bus was full, requiring four people to sit in uncomfortable back row similar to that of a folding third seat in a minivan. We were lucky to be able to grab a coach seat and they were comfortable.. On another tour with Auckland and beyond we were forced to sit in the back seat which were most uncomfortable. In conclusion, Hobbton is wonderful. Be prepared to be somewhat confused regarding pick up and try and make sure that you’re not the last ones or you’ll be forced to sit in uncomfortable backseat for the two hour trip down there and back.
