David was a phenomenal tour guide. He was so knowledgeable, kept us on time without ever making us feel rushed and kept us comfortable with his driving and snacks and information about New Zealand. I can’t recommend him more! The caves and Hobbiton were amazing and well worth the visit and David really makes the trip come to life!
Waitomo and Hobbiton are amazing places! It’s a must place to go to while you’re in Auckland. Our driver/guide - Deane was an absolute 11/10! He was funny, reliable, punctual, and an expert behind the wheel. His passion for the region really brought every spot to life! He made very good conversation as well :)
This tour was absolutely wonderful, and our tour guide Jason was a highlight for our whole trip. He made the early morning start cheery right off the bat, and made us laugh the whole day. Can't recommend enough, and would definitely book with them again next time we visit. Hobbiton and Waitomo caves are incredible.

Had a great day from Auckland out to Hobbiton and then the Waitimo glow worm caves. Well organised tour by Expedigo tours with good communication beforehand and a great guide (Wayne) who was very knowledgeable, helpful and engaging. I felt very safe with all the driving and we had plenty of time at each venue and stopped in a good place for refreshments between the two experiences. We were very well looked after all day and I would recommend this tour.
The tour started very early in the morning, but it was definitely worth it. Being able to visit two major attractions in one day was very convenient, and the guide’s explanations were extremely detailed and informative, which made the experience even better. Lunch was described as a brunch, but the portion was generous and more than enough. I was very satisfied with the overall experience and would highly recommend this tour.
Its worth the early morning long trip from Auckland to Hobbiton for this tour. If you are a fan then please do book way in advance as seats get taken very quickly during the peak season. We went on this tour on January 2. Our first stop was at Waitamo caves and Paul our very kind and wonderful tour guide for the day offered us all some energy bars and water. You can also buy breakfast at the cafe at the Waitamo caves. The caves themselves are beautiful and I felt like I was looking at the night sky with all the glowworms shining like little bright stars in the dark cave. From there we headed to Hobbiton and were in time for some lunch before starting our journey into the Shire. I have no words to describe how beautiful this place is and I simply loved the experience of walking into an hobbit home and drinking ale at the Green Dragon. Would love to go to Hobbiton again.

Must do tour even if you haven’t watched the movies, Lord of the rings or Hobbiton. Book it. You won’t regret. Doug, our guide was fabulous. Tour was a small group of 14 people. Would do again.
Wonderful fun filled day with our guide, Aaron. He was extremely knowledgeable about Auckland history and Māori culture. A well organized day with the right pace. Got to see a few more historical points on our journey to Waitomo and MataMata
We had a wonderful time visiting these places with Expedigo. We are all huge fans of LOTR and Hobbit trilogies, and it was very disappointing to find that the tickets were sold out months before our visit. Coming all the way from US, We are visiting during the peak season (Christmas break), and Expedigo helped our group of 10 get the tickets for Hobbiton. We can’t thank them enough for this! 🙏🏼 On our way from Auckland to Rotorua, our vehicle had some issues. The nearby mechanic shops were all closed, but the owner of a road-side coffee stall came to our rescue by calling his friend who came to look at the car. He and his friend gave us a ride to the glow worm caves 14 km away, so we wouldn’t miss our reserved slot. Huge shoutout to the friendliness of the kiwi’s!! 😍 Meanwhile, the owner of Expedigo himself came from Auckland to pick us up after the glow worms cave visit, and took us to Hobbiton. Though we arrived a little later than our reserved time, he talked with them and arranged for us to visit Hobbiton on a later slot. After Hobbiton, he took out hungry bunch directly to dinner in Rotorua. His wife sent us the menu and passed our order to the restaurant, ensuring the food was ready by the time we arrived! First class service all the way! 👌🏽

Great day tour from Auckland, we'll organised. We had some spare time to kill so were lucky to make a quick additional stop for a short bush walk. Our guide Chris did a great job. Highly recommended!
Everything was great! The Waitomo glowworm caves and Hobbiton were amazing. Chris was a fantastic guide, super knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting history, culture, and geography facts along the way. The bush walk we did between tours was also a really nice touch :)

Memorable day at the Weitamo Gloworm caves and Hobbiton movie set. I was picked up on time at a convenient location. Wayne, our driver and guide was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable, telling us about sights on the way. At each of the spots, the handoff to the local guides was flawless. My daughter and I had a wonderful time on 27 Nov during the Waitomo Cave and Hobbiton Movie Set Tour. Everything was well-planned by Expedigo, from departure arrangements to toilet and meal breaks. The weather was perfect, and our guide and driver, Wayne, provided informative explanations throughout the journey, which was a great bonus.
Everything was as described, perfectly coordinated and enjoyable. Dean, our driver/host kept us engaged during the road trip .

Such a fun filled day. The tour guide broke up the morning drive with a few stops which was great. A couple quick stops at small towns, a visit at the glowworm caves, and ending with Hobbiton made for an enjoyable journey. Both this activity and company, Expedigo, were great; and Expedigo’s guide, Aaron, was delightful, informative, and on it.
Great tour with a Great tour guide. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable it was incredible. From the time we left Auckland to the time we got back he provided a ton of information!
This was a very enjoyable day. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about New Zealand about the Mauri culture and was able to answer any question we had. The whole day was very well organised with both the caves tour and The Hobbiton tour. Our needs were considered all day including snacks and appropriate breaks throughout and having a small group made for a very intimate and enjoyable day. This was a day off in a work schedule and I can thoroughly recommend it for people passing through Auckland with a day to see local sights.
It was a wonderful day and a wonderful tour by our guide Mr Ali. He did a wonderful job by providing us with lots of descriptions and explanations during the tour. Everything went on time. I would say it was a great experience at the caves and Hobbiton.

Jozefa helped us change things around at literally the last-minute to help us out after my scheduling mistake. It turned out to be a day my family and I will never forget.
