The tour guide was nice & informative. He did run late for the pickup, after we were asked to be there 10 minutes early. The tour was on a Sunday and the weather was beautiful. Unfortunately, that meant for lots of traffic. especially on the road along Mission Bay - a beautiful area. The tour guide had an agenda for sites to see. And with the traffic, we were running out of time. We had a flight to catch and we had to remind the guide several times that we needed to tour to end - on schedule. It was nice that he wanted to complete his scheduled route. But our bus to the airport was a schedule that wee needed to keep.

A drive through view of the tallest tower in New Zealand. Auckland Sky Tower.
Drive on top of Auckland Harbor Bridge and Detour to experience the skyline view of Auckland City.
Stop beneath the bridge to take photographs.
Drive through the Wynyard quarters to experience the City of Sails. Watch all the boats and Yachts parked at the Marina Bay.
Tāmaki Drive is one of Auckland’s most scenic coastal routes, offering stunning views of the Waitematā Harbour and the Hauraki Gulf. Stretching about 8 kilometers (5 miles), it connects the city center to the eastern suburbs, passing through picturesque waterfront neighborhoods like Mission Bay, Kohimarama, and St Heliers. The drive is lined with golden beaches, perfect for a leisurely stroll or a relaxing stop. Cyclists and walkers often enjoy the dedicated paths alongside the road. Tāmaki Drive is famous for its scenic vistas, especially at sunrise or sunset, with views of Rangitoto Island providing a breathtaking backdrop. Key highlights include Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park, a peaceful spot with manicured gardens and panoramic views, and Achilles Point, offering a vantage point over Auckland's eastern bays. With its mix of natural beauty and vibrant beachside atmosphere, Tāmaki Drive is a must-see for anyone exploring Auckland.
The Auckland Museum (5-minute photo stop only, no entry) is a striking neoclassical landmark set within the historic Auckland Domain. Perched atop a hill, it offers scenic views of the surrounding parklands. Visitors can capture photos of its grand exterior, war memorials, and sculptures that honor New Zealand’s heritage. The Winter Gardens provide a peaceful retreat with beautifully designed glasshouses, seasonal floral displays, exotic tropical plants, and serene lily ponds. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely 20 minute visit, making it a perfect short stop to relax and appreciate the surroundings.
Mount Eden (Maungawhau), Auckland's highest natural point at 196 meters, offers stunning 360-degree views of the city, harbors, and surrounding volcanic landmarks. This dormant volcanic cone features a grassy crater, a significant geological and cultural site sacred to Māori. Once home to a fortified village (pā), the slopes retain remnants of terracing and storage pits, highlighting its historical importance. Visitors can walk or drive to the summit, enjoying breathtaking vistas and informational panels detailing its rich history. Respect the sacred crater by admiring it from the edge, and take in the serene atmosphere. Mount Eden is a must-visit for its natural beauty, cultural significance, and unbeatable views of Auckland.

Fantastic tour. Had Babu as the guide. I ended up being the only one on the tour so would recommend using this company as they do not cancel based on numbers. Vehicle was super clean and Babu drove very safely. He had great knowledge of Auckland. So glad I chose it rather than the hop on off bus as no waiting. If I had more time in Auckland I would definitely use this company again.
Wonderful experience. Very personal. Just what I was looking for especially as someone who was traveling solo.
Very fun and informative half day tour! Our guide Babu was very flexible in allowing us to spend more time at certain sites.
A great way to get a feel for the city of Auckland in a comfortable vehicle with a friendly driver. As I was the only passenger had some flexibility with the length of time at each stop.
I had a fantastic experience on the half-day tour of Auckland. It was a great way to see the city, and I was shown so many different aspects in a short amount of time. My tour guide, Jim, was excellent—very professional, informative, and engaging throughout. He shared a lot of detailed insights and local knowledge, which really made the tour stand out. Highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting a comprehensive and enjoyable overview of Auckland!
Jim was an excellent guide. Beautiful city! Tour said “small group” but we were pleasantly surprised that we were the only ones on the tour in Jim’s very nice electric car!
Excellent guide and tour ! Very informative !
We had such a fun day! Our guide was informative and told us about all kinds of sights. Thank u for a lovely day!
The pace and content were just right. Very knowledgeable and friendly guide. Options for some flexibility.
It was so interesting to see the city highlights this way. Sides from Enzoy tour was very knowledgeable and just plane nice. We highly recommend.
Jim was our driver. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. The other 4 passengers that we met were very well traveled, well educated and it was a congenial group.
We booked a small group tour, but ended up with a car & private driver! Ambrose was very knowledgeable & we enjoyed our city tour with him immensely!
Nice car with very informative guide. Pointed out interesting sites in and around town as well headed west side of Auckland. Numerous great places to get out for pictures and check out nature
We visited New Zealand in March, and right after landing we decided to explore Auckland with this Half-Day City Highlights Tour and it turned out to be an excellent choice. It was an amazing introduction to the city. We spent a wonderful half-day discovering Auckland’s key highlights as well as some hidden gems, which gave us a great first insight into the culture, history and the incredibly welcoming people of New Zealand. The pace was perfect and allowed us to really enjoy the experience without feeling rushed. Our guide was fantastic — friendly, very professional and genuinely engaging. We had such a great time together, and their passion for the city truly made the tour special. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Auckland, especially if you want a first glimpse of the city and its unique atmosphere right after arriving. A perfect way to start a New Zealand adventure.
Jim was an excellent guide and we enjoyed the stops and sights! We never would have seen these places without this tour! Excellent job!!
Jim was a fantastic host and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing the sights and sounds that Auckland has to offer. We were able to get some wonderful snapshots too.
I highly recommend this tour for anyone tight on time and looking to visit some of this beautiful city's with an interesting, informative guide. There were several short city tours available on Viator - I'm very happy I chose this one and think you will be, too.
We saw lots of the city and Ambrose, our guide was very knowledgeable and considerate. The tour was comfortable and enjoyable
It was good to have a recorder to listen to while pulling up to the various stops. The driver was engaged but took alot of personal calls while on the trip.
This tour was a good overview of Auckland. Our tour guide Jim was knowledgeable. There was some confusion over the hotel pickup point, but Jim gave us a call. There were some issues with getting to the Botanical Gardens due to a concert in the park so lots of roads were closed, but very much out of the hands of the tour group. They did make up for this extending the tour so we didn't miss out on anything. We saw some stunning scenery, this tour is recommended!
I was not really impressed with the Auckland City Highlights tour. We saw some of the same things the day before on a Hop On Hop Off bus. It was a foggy, misty morning, so we couldn’t see some of the things he was pointing out. I know that’s not his fault, but it was disappointing. We seemed to be driving around a lot, but you have to do that in order to see more. The problem with that was the car backseat was very cramped for 3 adults. And the lady next to me took half the seat. The good things - our guide, Jim, was able to drive to the top of Mount Eden for an amazing view. We could never have walked up! We also received an email the day before confirming our tour and giving us the vehicle type, ID #, and guide’s name. Pick up was in front of our hotel, so that was very helpful to know what vehicle to look for. That is the first time any tour company did that. I do think the tour was over priced.
Good half day experience for those who do not have a lot of time to spare. Some interesting places to see.
Our driver Mike Lobo picked us up on time at our hotel. He was very professional, kind went out of his way to give us a great tour considering the uncomfortable position he faced because of his employer. We were expecting a 10 passenger van based on the description in the ad. The driver showed up in his personal compact Kia. He said because we were only two passengers, he took his own car. First of all, the difference in visibility between a van which sits up considerably higher and has large windows versus a compact car is not comparable. In addition, he was told after he picked us up, to pick up two more passengers. That would put five of us in a small compact car. The two young ladies who squeezed into the car with us were very nice and pleasant and ready for an adventure. The smallest person squeezed into the middle position, but had very little visibility out of either window. To her credit, she never complained. The driver contacted his company and asked to be given a larger car because he had extra people at this point. He was told there were none available. Both the girl on the other side of the backseat and I spent three hours trying to hold on to something to keep us as close to the window as possible so the girl in the middle had enough room. This made for a very uncomfortable ride. Mike Lobo, our driver, was very sweet. He was apologetic and did everything he could to give us the best possible tour. He was the saving grace and took us to many interesting places where we got out and walked and enjoyed the view. If I had to rate Mike, I would give him five stars. If I had to rate the company alone, I would give them zero stars. Therefore, this averaged out to about two stars. Cynthia D
Enjoyable experience. Guide was incredible… Personable, knowledgeable, skilled. He provided enjoyable snacks, yum!
Mike was very informative and knowledgeable and made us feel we now have a true friend in New Zealand. Wonderful experience. Would highly recommend.
Great way to see Auckland in a short amount of time. Our drive/tour guide Jim was fantastic, he went above and beyond to cram as much he could in the time frame we had. The only negative was the size of the car, not big enough to accommodate 4 seniors as well as the driver
Excellent your, knowledgeable guide. Great fun. My guide Ambrose detailed every bit of the city as we drove along.
Guide was very well informed & shared alot of information. Tour was mostly in a van, I prefer more walking around. The garden we walked to & Mount Eden walk were great.
A most enjoyable tour. Driver was very friendly and informative. Shame we didn’t get on top of mount eden but to unforeseen circumstances due to gate malfunction. Would recommend.
It was an awesome way to see the points of interest and our driver Jim was the best. Very informative and knowledgeable about the city
Had a nice intimate tour as it was Jim our guide and my wife and I. He was friendly, knowledgable and an all around delight.
Driver was very helpful and knowledgeable. We had a great time. We went to some very beautiful sites.
Josh was very thorough and knowledgeable. We had a wonderful time seeing Auckland . We saw the highlights of the city
Excellent tour. Our driver was both knowledgeable and entertaining! Great way to get an overview of Auckland and learn some me of its history as well!
It was a marvelous tour. Ambrose was amazing. Cool, good driver, very comfortable electric van. We saw so much of the city and had several opportunities for taking amazing pictures of beautiful vistas. Ambrose was so patient with us and even added an extra stop to allow us to buy some drinks and snacks. This is absolutely the perfect way to spend a half day and see and learn so much of Auckland. I cannot recommend this any more highly.
We had an Absolute Wonderful Time! We have been on many tours and our tour guide Dinesh Sharma was the best tour guide we have ever had. He was very informative and personable and he imparted volumes of information about Auckland and New Zealand! It was a Fantastic experience 😊!
A general tour of the sights. Driver knowledgeable and good communication. As it was just the two of us in hindsight a better indication of time at each stop would have been good.
Sree was a great tour guide and driver. The weather did not cooperate however we had an enjoyable day sightseeing. He took us to hidden gems our other friends did not go to!
Very knowledgeable guide. Kavitha was wonderful! We saw so many different places. She had so much insight on everything!
On April 13th, we had an awesome experience with our first sheep shearing tour. We left Auckland around 10 am and made it just in time for the 11:15 am show. Watching the sheep shearing was super interesting and gave us a great look at how it’s done. After that, we went on an eco farm walk, checking out different farm animals and even got to feed them. At first, we were a bit nervous about feeding the animals, but our guide Ambrose from ENZOY Tours was really knowledgeable and reassuring, so we all got into it. The hands-on activities and Ambrose’s friendly guidance made the tour special and memorable, turning it into a fun day for our family and friends.
