Great experience with a professional instructor. Super stunning weather. Lots of school trips were on the same day, however there was so much water and beach space for everyone. Thoroughly enjoyed this activity and would recommend it.

Itinerary
The experience starts with a quick refresh on snorkelling skills. We share the history of Goat Island and introduce you to the marine life you are likely to meet at New Zealand's first marine reserve. Before jumping in you'll receive a full, thorough safety briefing. We'll all make our way to the water, and finalize our equipment. Once our gear is on, we are ready to go and we will make our way out to our adventure. Wearing a weightbelt, we will practice duck diving so we can get up close to all the fabulous marine life! After the tour, you will be able to use the equipment for the remainder of the day and carry on exploring!

My guide was very knowledgeable in the area and she took my input of what I most wanted to see. The marine reserve was so pretty and they gave other great recommendations in the area to check out with the gear they let you keep for the full day. Definitely recommend!
Great service, do need to get to the beach from the snorkel shop (we did not have a car!) Louis did a fantastic job directing and teaching us about what we might see in the water. It was a beautiful perfect day to snorkel. You can also keep the equipment longer and hang out on your own, we recommend. The shop manager went above and beyond for us to make sure we had an awesome experience.
Trip was really nice. Our instructors were so good and professional ,they made us feel very comfortable with being in the water, even though we couldn't swim deep down. Thank you for such a great experience.
We had a wonderful snorkel session with goat island dive and snorkel. Skye was very attentive and made sure everyone’s needs were met. She took time to run through expectations and when in the water she did well rangeling the unruly ducklings so that everyone was able to see the fish and other creatures. The fish were super curious and would approach the people and we were lucky enough to see eagle rays as well.
Very exciting experience watching underwater world and how beautiful it was. I will definitely be back for another snorkeling or maybe scuba diving.
Booked the thing months ago, including buying a prescription mask. That was obviously forgotten, so it took quite some time to sort it out. The office you go to first for the gear is extremely simple, no bathroom, so you have to stuff yourself into the wetsuit knowing you will have to get out of it again next. There are two booths for changing with holes in the plastic roofs and not even a tiny stool to them, let alone a bench for your stuff and to sit on. But all the assistance you need is given in a very kind way. Then you proceed under your own steam to the bay, not knowing that there won't even be showers for afterwards. Follows introduction, very knowledgeable, hone your English though, if you are not from NZ. The beach you start from is small and crowded, getting into the water is not altogether easy, but good assistance given, again. We were a very big group of 17,with two very good assistants but some participants disturbing the experience with mad splashing and loud yelling that certainly scared away some of the fish. And yet we saw quite some, different kinds, and they were pretty close at times. Getting back into Auckland (nearly two hours until we made it to the hotel) was not altogether pleasant, full of salt and sand as we were and without a chance to get a coffee or a bite. No idea if there is a more comfortable way around of doing this, but the experience was worth the discomfort.
The team that took care of us from beginning to end were great. We had two in our party of 6 who had never snorkeled before and were in great hands. The 8-year-old ditched the flotation support and was confident by the end thanks to the support and confidence of the crew.
Great instructor and clear communication. Just one thing I felt disappointed was the wet suit fitting. I normally wear XL clothing. The guy insist I could fit in a small sized wet suit. With his help, I did fit in the swim suit. But I was feeling crunched up, couldn't stand straight and hard to breath. He kept saying it will loosen up when I'm in the water, therefore it has to be tight. However, I did not feel loosen up in the water at all. It was difficult for me to swim and I didn't really enjoy the experience. Other than this, my teens loved the experience.
If you want to get real snorkeling experience then here is your chance! Just do it..... you will never regret it! Lovely relaxing...
