The water was absolutely perfect, warm hot and relaxing!! I enjoyed the whole experience. The conversation with other people. The acidity pool for aches and pains.

Rotorua is a must! So many great experiences to have there, one day is barely enough. But I’m grateful for this tour that gave me an excellent overview. And our guide, David, was simply superb.
The weather is abit too misty, therefore not able to see the full colors for the wai-o-tapu. As for the Polynesian spa, its very relaxing and they give you ample of time to relax in the hot pools. There is 4 different temperature pools and 1 cold plunge. I enjoyed alot. But you may need to be aware that there may be other people going to rotorua as well but participating in different activities.
Though the tour started with a lot of fog because of the season, it later became one of the most beautiful sceneries I've ever seen in my life. Jason, our tour guide, was lovely and did teach me a few interesting facts about NZ and some Māori phrases. The Polynesian spa was amazing in this cold weather. I forgot my swimsuit, but luckily they rented me one. Overall would recommend this tour if you want to learn and see some breathtaking views while also relaxing.
Went for a Waiotapu & Polynesian Spa at Rotorua tour from Auckland with Jamie as the tour guide. Although the journey was far, the destinations were wonderful. Time allocated for both places were adequate to enjoy. Water and snack was also provided which was great. There were also stops for toilet and coffee
This is a great day trip! You share the day with a group but everyone splits to do different things in Rotorua. I honestly had no idea there was so much to do! You’ll be up early for this one, but it’s worth it. I did the geothermal pools and the thermal spa - love it. I also got the see a bit of the redwood forest because of a drop off and timing allowed me to catch the cultural show for a nominal fee (if your combo doesn’t include the village but you get the chance to see the show, go). The coach is comfy and David was determined to make sure everyone had a good time and was accommodating in all things. If you’re in two minds, book this. It’s a great day trip and worth the early wake up.
Jason was a nice tour guide who made a point to speak to everyone and learn all names. He shared a lot of facts along the tour and was also pretty funny. Wai O Tapu was cool to see- we had time to explore on our own. The Polynesian Spa was nice, but a bit boring. I am not sure I would book that option again given the price.
The experience was fantastic. From the moment of pick-up from my hotel the guide Aaron was engaged and informative. He shared many interesting facts about each area we drove through along the way to our destination. The Waiotapu Thermal Park was great to see and the Polynesian Spa hot spring pools overlooking the lake were absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend this tour.
So relaxing, enjoyed the heated beds and the beautiful scenery, several spa bathes to enjoy, passed on the polar plunge but many were doing it
We had a great day with Davide exploring Rotorua and it’s geothermal wonders despite the rain in the morning. The afternoon visit to the Polynesian Spa was very relaxing. David was a great and knowledgeable guide who went out of his way to make this day special. I highly recommend this tour!
Super great! David is a very amazing tour guide. He is patient and professional. He keeps the whole group loads of fun and energetic. The whole group likes him a lot. We enjoyed a great day with David!
Aaron was an outstanding tour guide who made the entire experience unforgettable. I wholeheartedly recommend this delightful and relaxing tour to anyone seeking a memorable adventure.
David is such a nice guy. Very personable and knows a lot about New Zealand and about Auckland with a touch of his personal stories which is very entertaining. I also forgot my phone in the van so I contacted the operator who then contacted David and just after a few minutes, he arrived at the hotel. The entire tour was a great experience. We went to extra places that were not part of the tour but were already on the way. What a great way to end the day at the Polynesian Spa. This is a 10 out of 10 stars.
Jason is a super helpful and kindness person,I'm happy to have a nice tour under his guiding today~~ Spa tour is my recommendation to everyone
The tour guide Jamie was very friendly and helpful. He took us to amazing places. Colours of the thermal park were unbelievable. The Polynesian spa was a piece of paradise.
had a wonderful time on this tour booked with Expedigo! Before reaching the main stops, we made a quick photo stop at the mud pools — all thanks to our amazing guide, David. He was fantastic throughout the day, sharing plenty of fascinating information about Auckland, Māori culture, and local traditions. I truly appreciated all the insights he provided. The setup for the Lady Knox Geyser was absolutely magnificent, and we arrived just in time to get a perfect viewing spot as it erupted into the sky! Our visit to the Wai-O-Tapu Geothermal Wonderland was perfectly paced, giving us enough time to explore the main highlights without feeling rushed. We wrapped up the day at the Polynesian Spa — the perfect way to relax after a full day of sightseeing! I appreciated the quick check-in and the complete package, which included access to four alkaline pools and one acidic pool, along with all the essentials (towels, toiletries, hairdryer, etc.). Before leaving, I followed David’s recommendation and treated myself to a delicious ice cream from the café at the spa’s entrance — such a lovely way to end the day! Thank you, David, for making this experience so memorable. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting!
Jason was a very experienced tour guide. That made things very easy for us. The Polynesian spa was very relaxing and the walk around Wai O Tapu was interesting. Overall a great experience.
The tour was exceptionally well-organized, offering a smooth and enjoyable experience from start to finish. The guide provided outstanding customer service, ensuring everyone felt comfortable and well-informed throughout the journey. Their professionalism and friendly attitude truly enhanced the overall experience
We were lucky enough to get Matt as our tour guide. From the moment he picked us up we knew it was going to be a great day. His knowledge of New Zealand was fantastic. He kept us on time and informed of where to be, times and even best places to eat. The tour company were also great at keeping us informed of times even on the morning of the tour. The tour itself was awesome and would recommend, especially the spa.
I loved the tour! It was absolutely a great day and memorable. I highly recommend it for solo travellers and groups. Our tour guide, Matt, was a consummate professional and provided a great experience for us all.
I had an incredible experience on today’s tour! From start to finish, the team went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. They were not only professional and knowledgeable, but also genuinely caring. What really stood out was the extra effort they made to look after my safety — ensuring I arrived and got home safely gave me complete peace of mind. It's rare to see this level of thoughtfulness and attention to detail. Dean was a great tour guide today too. Highly recommend — I’ll definitely be booking with them again!
Incredible! Exceeded expectations. Jason was an excellent tour guide. I enjoyed it so much, I would even go again! Fun and informative
We enjoyed our day with our driver Jason. It was our first day after arrival in New Zealand and it was a perfect balance of walking around at Wai-O-Tepu and relaxing at tge spa.
This was an amazing trip. The tour guide was knowledgeable and despite it being a rainy day, we were still able to enjoy all the activities to the fullest. The tour was expertly planned and intentionally navigated. I highly recommend it!
Excellent day trip to Rotorua, highly recommended. Jason was very knowledgable and interesting and a great guide. It was a comfortable trip and well worth the price to see places in Rotorua we wouldn’t have known about, as well as visiting the geothermal wonderland and Polynesian Spa. 5 stars.
Jason was so friendly friendly and knowledgeable about Rotorua! His infectious smile truly enriched the experience.
This was an incredibly customized and enjoyable tour. Somehow, many hours in the car flew by and our knowledgeable and kind guide helped us make the most of the day. Wai-o-Tapu was stunning and it was so cool to be in a family-friendly spa.
This was a great day visit to Rotorua! It’s an early start, but totally worth it. Along the drive you’ll see the beautiful countryside and when you arrive in Rotorua, it’s lovely. We got to make a pitstop in the Rose Gardens before we went to the lady Knox Geiser! OK, I was totally surprised that they force it to erupt, but I guess when you’re on a tourist’s schedule… Te Puia is a nice walk with a variety of different types of mud baths, pools of all colors, and interesting terrain. But the highlight of the trip was the Polynesian spa! The tubs are lovely, with a lush landscape, a variety of temperatures for everyone, and so relaxing! It was the highlight of the trip. Our guy, Jason was awesome, and artfully managed to pick up some drops at different places during the day. He got two of us to the Spa 45 minutes early, so we got extra time, which was appreciated I would definitely recommend this trip for anybody who loves scenic, nature, and Hot Springs!
The geysers and Polynesian Spa visit was fascinating and relaxing. JJ is very experience, cheerful, helpful & humorous.
Mr. Matt is the tour guide of your dreams. He has so much insight and interesting knowledge. Yet knows when to let you relax and enjoy the view. He’s the guy, and this is the adventure! Book it. You won’t regret.
Jason is an exceptional tour guide. He’s very nice, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the tour very much.
Jason (JJ) was a great driver and guide. He shared lots of helpful info about the area and customs, and has a good sense of humor. He even provided snacks. The van has USB ports which is useful for charging your phone. Seeing the geyser was really cool, and the other geothermal areas. My mom and I loved relaxing at the Polynesian Spa thermal pools. Could float around all day! There wasn't a formal lunch stop, so be ready to get a sandwich or something else quick at one of your stops.
Jason (JJ) was a great guide for the day. He has a good sense of humor and is an efficient driver. He provided a lot of good information about local customs. Seeing Lady Knox Geyser erupt was really cool. The thermal pools in the park were fascinating and like nothing we can see in Ohio (where we are from). The Polynesian Spa was so relaxing, and it was fun to try the different pools. Very peaceful area, perfect way to spend the last day in New Zealand. Made friends in the can along the way. A great day!
It was a perfect day! The pick-up was on time, and our driver, Jason, was excellent. He was very helpful, knowledgeable about New Zealand, and extremely polite and friendly. He even took us to additional sightseeing spots beyond the program. The nature was incredible, and the spa was the cherry on top. I would definitely recommend this tour!
We weren’t sure how jet lagged we would be so decided this tour would be a great way to relax and see some of the North Island while traveling to Rotorua. We had a couple of quick stops on the way for food and bathroom breaks then arrived at Wai-O-Tapu in time to see the Lady Knox geyser erupt. Enjoyed our walk to see all the colorful geothermal pools then we were taken to the Polynesian spa to relax in the lakeside natural pools. The acidic and alkaline pools were different temps and had therapeutic properties and the cold plunge pool was a delight in between. Really blissful and felt so good after our 13 hour flight from LA. We purchased some nice sandwiches and delicious ice cream from the spa. Our driver and guide, Matt was really outstanding. He shared so much interesting information about the areas we drove through and NZ in general. Would highly recommend doing this tour!
This was an fantastic trip to see the volcanic and thermal region of Wai-O-Tapu you get to see all the sites and more the thermal park is impressive we also saw the Haka at the local village which was great and finished off at the Polynesian Spa though the highlight of the journey is no doubt the driver and courier Huzefa who kept us well informed and help create a friendly fun no worries atmosphere throughout
Fun day in Rotorua! We got to see the rose garden, which was small, but very enjoyable, if you’re a fan of flowers. Then it was off to the geothermal wonders! The geyser was cool, the song beautiful, and the natural beauty around reminded me of Yellowstone National Park in America. Be sure to wear sunscreen, because it gets VERY hot and there’s NO shade! The park with the rest of the geothermal wonders is pretty indescribable! The amazing colors, the rock formations, the streams, just stunning! The walk through the park is maybe an hour, at your own pace, but definitely requires comfortable walking shoes, so keep that in mind. The only downside is due to the natural hot springs and thus lots of sulfur, Rotorua is pretty stinky (eventually, you kinda get used to it, but just something to note). The Polynesian spa is aptly the last thing you get to experience - saving the best for last (be sure to bring your bathing suit - the spa has plenty of towels, soap, shampoo, and showers/bathrooms)! Whoever thought soaking in hot springs overlooking the ocean was a good idea is a genius! The water is not as hot as you’d expect, more like bath water, but it’s extremely soothing and great for your muscles, joints, and skin. They also have a cold plunge! I don’t recommend, too cold for me, but if that’s your thing, it’s authentic! 😂 End the day with the ultimate relaxation and then sleep on the ride home.
When I book a tour with a guide, I never know quite what to expect, especially with teenage kids, but what a great day we had. Our guide Mr Burhan was super kind and lovely. The drive was long but the scenery was gorgeous and we also were able to catch up on our sleep a little too. Wai O Tapu is beautiful, with a well planned walk weaving between the lakes and craters. The last lake before the exit was surreal. The Polynesian spa was extremely relaxing. There were pools of different temperatures and a cold plunge pool as well. We all felt super refreshed. It did not feel touristy at all, even though we were all tourists! Our guide took time out to stop at different sights along the way for photos opportunities which was appreciated. Complimentary water and energy bars were available. I appreciate the effort that went in to today. Thank you so much for a fantastic day!
Great tour, great guide (Jason). It s a long trip from Auckland but the drive itself has amazing views, loved the walk amongst the geisers and soak in the Polynesian spa. Very relaxing.
What an amazing day with JJ! He was so friendly, drove extremely careful and was very punctual. He was so great with my son, too! It was a great day seeing the beautiful sights. JJ made it so much better and had a great attitude the entire time! Definitely will book again once we come back.
Everything was incredible, from the pickup point to the return to the hotel. Our guide gave us water bottles, cereal bars, and explained every part of the journey in detail! Highly recommended
An excellent experience. No words to appreciate the service n hospitality of expedigo. The guide mr. Burhan also very courteous n had good knowledge of the history of new Zealand. Expedigo had taken proper care for our comfort during our tour. We strongly recommend the tourists to take day tours with expedigo.
The drive itself was a beautiful drive. The Wai-O-Tapu geothermal sulfur pits were as aromatic as you can imagine, but the colors were very vibrant. Lady Knox was impressive. The spa was great, very relaxing with temperature options including a cool plunge to cool off. Our guide Huzefa was amazing. Super knowledgeable and helpful, wouldn’t have been the same without him.
The guide was very accommodating and I enjoyed spending time with the other participants. Thank you for taking me back to where I wanted to be.
The vast landscape of Waiotapu was great, I was happy to spend the rest of the day at the Polynesian Spa, and I was riding with those who chose other options, so it was a long way to go, but the driver was very responsive.
Sleeping in the car and dropping out of the car pissing ~😂 is all very easy! Don't drive your own car, don't worry about not knowing the route, the guide JJ also sends bottled water (to a lot of fear we are thirsty) and oatmeal cakes, small packed chips, the master played a careful service👍 (and, he drives super stable, great😍) On the journey first to the huge sheephead town of Tirau Ronnie’s Cafe (about 15 minutes), then take us to the view of the remote sights of the private Tibet to enjoy the city's beauty, then head straight to Lady Knox Geyser (source) + Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland (geothermal natural landscape) park a whole walk of about 1 hour, the intense sulfur smell really stinking, but the beauty is really beautiful 🙂 Super invincible praise👍 all the way back sleeping in the car
Jo was an excellent Guide for this day. He accompanied us for the visit of Wai o tapu in the walking circuit. A very pleasant 45 minute walk. Then l afternoon at the Polynesian Spa in the 5 luxury alkaline or acid pools in temperatures of 38 to 41 degrees, in front of a lake. Great relaxation, very relaxing. Jo gave a lot of information about the life of the country, its history. Its geography, social life, places, restaurants, sport etc.
