Coromandel Day Tour From Auckland

Raymond was a great guide. Wet day in Spring, but did not dampen spirits. Long day, too many hours on the road to make it my perfect day. Fun on Hot Beach and railway. Walk to Cove was worth it for the sight on the beach and cathedral, shame it rained the whole walk. Nice group of ladies to spend the day with, group was only 5 of us.

A very enjoyable day out with an informative and knowledgeable guide, Adil, of Auckland & Beyond Tours. I believe we saw the best of Coromandel and a long walk in heavy rain did nothing to spoil our enjoyment of the day.

We used Auckland & Beyond Tours during a recent family holiday in New Zealand. This experience was a full day tour of the Coromandel Penninsula. We loved the tour and it was a highlight experience of our holiday. Warren, our guide was tremendous: experienced and knowledgeable, cheerful, enthusiastic and fun. A former school headmaster, Warren used his experience to gauge his guests, customizing the tour toward our interests & inclinations. When we reached the point of the tour where we would hike down to Cathedral Beach, Warren offered our family an option to take a zodiac boat tour through Mercury Bay & Cathedral Cove. Since our adult son has some fear of heights and hiking at elevation, this seemed a great option. We especially love zodiac rides and we were not disappointed by this one. Warren made a great call for our family and it was certainly worth the extra $75/pp USD for the zodiac experience. Other tour highlights include coastal views along the Firth of Thames, the Driving Creek Railway & Pottery Workshop, Hot Water Beach. This was a day well spent and Warren’s guiding made it even better.

This was a fantastic tour with a very friendly driver and guide Henrik who knows everything about the area and the history of the place and country. We enjoyed the almost 12 hours of time we spent on this tour with Henrik.

Paulo was our guide and did an awesome job! The train ride was amazing with views that take your breath away. The “walk” to Cathedral Cove was a little challenging but worth the effort. We were the oldest in the group and brought up the rear but everyone was great! Hot Water Beach was great too.

Had an absolutely amazing experience with Auckland and Beyond Tours on our Coromandel trip! Our tour guide Paolo was fantastic — friendly, knowledgeable, funny, and made the entire journey so enjoyable from start to finish. He made sure everyone was comfortable, shared interesting facts along the way, and showed us some truly beautiful spots. The whole trip was well-organized, relaxing, and unforgettable. Nancy is extremely friendly, out going, professional, knowledgeable and accommodating. She went out of her way to make sure we enjoy the trip.

One of the least organized tours I have been on. I had received an email saying that Cathedral Bay, a highlight of the tour, had reopened but we were informed it was closed but maybe we could pay ourselves and take a water taxi or walk. We agreed to the water taxi but by the time we got there after driving through small towns so we could “see the beach” from the van, the water taxi was closed. The walk we were told we could do never materialized. Our guide didn’t know which cafe to go to in Thames for breakfast and asked which we liked the look of! We only got to the train ride by the skin of our teeth. We enjoyed the ride. Guide needs to improve organizational skills and have a Plan B when some things don’t work out such as with the weather.

We had the pleasure of having Warren as our driver and guide for the Coromandel Day Adventure from Auckland & Beyond Tours. He was outstanding. He brought fantastic energy to the day and handled circumstances beyond his control with grace and humour. His quick wit and great sense of humour made the experience even more enjoyable. Warren is incredibly knowledgeable, but what truly sets him apart is how genuine and sincere he is. He shared so much information while also really listening and engaging with us, making us feel like friends. He was flexible, relaxed, professional, and an excellent driver. What also impressed us was his willingness to help anyone — whether they were on his tour or not. We highly recommend Warren and Auckland & Beyond Tours for a memorable and exceptionally well-run experience. Went to Coromandel with a group of family friends — such a beautiful and memorable experience! We soaked in the natural hot water beach, hiked down to the breathtaking Cathedral Cove, and wrapped it up with a charming ride on the Creek Railway. The day was quite packed, and though we only had time for quick snacks, it gave us a wonderful snapshot of the scenic Coromandel Peninsula. It’s perfect if you want to cover all the highlights in one trip, but if you’d like to truly immerse yourself in the experience, I’d recommend slowing down and enjoying one attraction per day.

Adil , our guide was with us the whole trip & he was amazing. He told us abt the history of new Zealand & also. Abt the new new Zealand. He was very helpful & guided us to all the activities.

This was a great trip with amazing views! Our guide Stephen was full of information about New Zealand and the areas we visited. The train was adorable, and helps support a pottery business while also showing off the beautiful rain forest reclaimed from farmland. The views and photos from Cathedral Cove were stunning, and I took many amazing photos. Yes, there really is a hot spring under the beach, and I had plenty of time to enjoy a soak in the hot water. I highly recommend Auckland and Beyond as a company. Their tours are small and wide-reaching.

I would have rated it a 5, but the earthquake in Russia changed the itinerary and we had to make some adjustments so sadly we did not get to Cathedral Cove. We did get to hike some and see some nice views, but Cathedral Cove is truly what I wanted to see. I know it's not the tour operator's fault, but they were very clear in letting us know what was going on and what might happen with tour changes. Anyway, the tour was fun but different from what I expected due to things out of everyone's control.

Pablo was our driver & guide for our trip to the Coromandel Peninsula and he was friendly, prompt and professional and really went above and beyond to make sure that we had an enjoyable day. Coromandel is a long drive from Auckland but the drive was super scenic and we enjoyed all of the stops on the itinerary from the slightly eccentric railway to cathedral cove & hot water beach. The tour is a really good way to get a taster of the area if you don’t have the time to spend a few days there.

We had an absolutely fabulous day. Steve, our guide, was ace! very informative and entertaining with stories and tales of old, fun facts and history. Beautiful scenery, and exactly what I had hoped this tour would deliver. Highly recommended.

Our driver Adil made the day for me so friendly and knowledgeable. He went out of his way to make each member of the group felt safe and happy and needs were ment. I would give him 10 out of 10.

Me and my fiance, were picked up by Mr. Adil and Mr Henrick and we couldn't asked for better guides. They were professional and generous with the information they shared. It changed the whole experience, for better. And on top do that, Coromandel its just stunning and beautiful. At the end, we were really happy, satisfied and thankful.

Nancy and John took us on a wonderful tour of the Coromandel peninsula filled with pristine beaches, walks through stunning vistas, and a lovely train ride. Their expert knowledge of the area and local flora and fauna, as well as their personal stories and experiences, made for an unforgettable day. A must do if visiting Auckland!

We had an excellent tour guide called Nancy for our day tour. Flexible, knowledgeable and fun, also great taste in music. There were 4 of us, myself and my husband, then a gentleman and his son from Singapore. Nancy responded to our individual needs but also encouraged us as a group. The Coromandel Peninsula is a beautiful area to tour, you see beaches, forests, animals and birds (Nancy knows them all). The train at the end is a very unique, but enjoyable, experience. Would highly recommend and ask for Nancy! Thankyou 😁☺️

Incredible tour. Knowledgeable guide. The rest stops had really good food, especially the Cafe. Cathedral cove was definitely all it was cracked up to be and the walk there was delightful. The train ride and pottery stop was quirky but enjoyable. Don't forget to bring slip ons for the hot water beach.

Learning and experiencing nature at your pace; Warren was so knowledgeable not only about the tour but about the history of New Zealand. Highlights: Viewing and experiencing majestic Volcanic creations. The tree-line and ocean views were post card worthy and didn't necessarily require a huge hike to get there. Seafood.. More reasons to love New Zealand and Coromandel.

It’s a long day out to the Coromandel, but it’s absolutely worth it. We had our main stops at Hot Water Beach, Cathedral Beach, and Driving Creek Railway - all unforgettable experiences. Nancy was a great driver and guide, keeping up a flow of information and giving us plenty of good options to choose from when the situation required it. We strongly recommend this trip - it’s a lot of fun and fabulous experiences.

Great tour company. Loved the 3 tours we have done so far. West coast Hobbiton and Waitomo Coromandel. All 3 tour guides have been awesome made our days more enjoyable. The knowledge of our tour guides was amazing. Hope to see you all again.

Adil is THE tour guide to go with on the long and amazing journey to Coromandel. He made the experience so unique and memorable for my entire family of 8. It was one of the best travel adventures we have ever had together. I was concerned about it all being a long day for everyone, but with Adil it was so easy. He didn’t rush us and he kept us on time to see everything. He added in ways to get lunch and also sightsee all while sharing the unique history of New Zealand with us. He truely was happy to share New Zealand with us and knew our interests were genuine. What a good fellow! If we come back, we will want him with us on every journey!
