A very interesting historical tour of Auckland through Albert Park, in and around the university precinct and concluding with a walk down to the Britomart and along the harbour front. Along the way we learnt about the history of Auckland and the architecture of buildings, saw vibrant street art and a myriad of lanes filled with coffee shops and eateries. We also went to little spots we would not have found on our own such as the breathtaking views from an upper level of Princess Wharf. Paula is a most excellent guide, she is well organised, extremely knowledgeable and presents the content in a most engaging manner. The small group is an added bonus as we felt connected and involved from the very start. This tour is highly recommended We have been to Auckland several times but this tour made Auckland more exciting and real.
Punctual, organised, insightful, friendly and well paced. Really enjoyed the history, sights, and chats had. Can recommend.
Paula was a baby guide for this small group tour. Learned so much. Plenty of time to ask questions and talk with the other two people on the tour. The stop for coffee was such a nice touch. Bathroom stops perfectly timed. Great tour.
Thank you Paula for this very interesting visit to the history of Auckland. I liked also these two masterpieces of maori sculpture that you showed us. The program was perfect with mixed moments for a living visit. Thanks again and sorry for my strange english ! Chantal from Paris. France
We had the pleasure of having Paula to give us a walking tour of beautiful Auckland. She was excelent communicating with me by email previous to our tour. Paula was knowleageble about the history of Auckland and New Zealand, and had a kind and pleasant demeanor. She treated us with a delicious coffee. I highly recommend to hire Paula as your Auckland Tour Operator.
Our guide was.very knowledgeable and very pleasant. Lots of great information and history. She has also travelled so we exchanging information on our travels. Very pleasant morning. Would recommend this tour
This walk is a fabulous introduction to Auckland. Paula is so knowledgeable and passionate about her home city and this was reflected in the quality of the tour. We learnt about the history and culture of Auckland as well as some of the city's more quirky features. I would highly recommend this tour.
Paula was very knowledgeable about the history of Auckland. She was very personable and open minded to catering her tour to the interests of the participants I would highly recommend booking a tour with Paula
My wife and I were in Auckland for 2 nights before starting our cruise and wanted to book a walking tour of Auckland as we have had some excellent experiences in the past with these type of tours. We arrived at the meeting point this morning and was met by Paula who after the introductions made us aware that we were the only tour participants as others that were due to take part had rescheduled until the following day so we had our very own private tour. Paula was very knowledgeable and gave up so much history of auckland and the culture and history. The tour pace was easy going ingredients and just right in my opinion. We had a stop part way through the tour in a lovely snack/coffee bar which was very welcoming, this gave us time to chat with Paula in a more general way. The tour finished after around 3 hrs or so down by the harbour. This was an excellent tour with an excellent guide and I would highly recommend Paula and her walking tour of Auckland.
Paula tailors her walks to your needs and interests. We wanted history, architecture, culture, and she delivered all PLUS. And a great resource for places to eat. What a sweetheart!
Paula’s tour was a really great introduction to Auckland. She was very friendly and informative. We learned plenty about the history of the city but also started to orientate ourselves and find our way around.Paula had some great restaurant recommendations and suggestions for other places to visit and things to do.We would not hesitate to recommend her tour if you want a good introduction to the city of Auckland
I had a fantastic time on this tour. I have traveled a lot and this was one of my favorites. We learnt a lot about local and Maori history. As well as seeing lots of nice local art. We got some good recommendations on places to have for dinner as Paula is a true Auckland local! She even took us to get a fantastic famous NZ Flat White.
Paula conducted a fantastic tour for my husband and me. She was very knowledgeable about the history of Auckland, the Māori people, and how the city and the country has evolved over time. She shared many historical spots of interest with us. She was a great communicator and very generous with her time. I highly recommend this tour.
Paula is fantastic! We have taken walking tours in cities all around the world and her tour is one of the best!
My kids and I enjoyed our walking tour with Paula. I thought she covered highlights well and allowed us to identify a couple places to visit more thoroughly before our departure. She also pointed out various landmarks around the harbor that wasn’t done on our harbor cruise!! I highly recommend walking with Paula.
Paula took us on an interesting & informative tour of Auckland city. We gained a clear glimpse into the early history. We saw historical streets, buildings & monuments & got a feel of what life was like for early settlers. Enjoyed our tour very much. Perfectly timed coffee stop & a very Insta-worthy Heart of the City wall mural. Lovely finish overlooking the Harbour.
A very enjoyable walk around central Auckland. Paula shared lots of interesting stories about historical figures and events, including Maori myths, many of which I hadn't heard before. I highly recommend this tour.
Paula did a great job. She is extremely informative throughout the tour. She took breaks as needed to make sure we were comfortable with the pace. She shared personal stories about living in New Zealand. Her website has recommendations for things to do after the tour, and great places to eat.
Great tour, interesting history and a picturesque setting with an informed and engaging guide. Highly recommended. Thanks.
The tour was an invaluable insight into some of the events and places which have helped to shape Auckland into the modern, vibrant city it is today. Paula’s obvious passion for Auckland and her warm and friendly personality made for a highly enjoyable experience.
I recently joined a small group walking tour of Auckland City with Paula, the guide behind “Auckland Story,” and it was a thoroughly enjoyable and insightful experience. Our group of five made for a relaxed and personal atmosphere, and Paula’s knowledge of Auckland’s history added real depth to the walk. The tour was well-paced, and Paula shared a range of interesting historical facts that brought the city’s past to life. It was clear she’s deeply passionate about Auckland and its stories, and we all walked away having learned something new. Paula offers both guided walking tours and self-guided Voicemap audio tours, which makes it easy to explore Auckland in a way that suits your schedule. I’d highly recommend her tours to both locals and visitors looking to discover more about the city’s heritage in an engaging way.
