Auckland To Rotorua Via Hobbiton & Waitomo 1-way Small Group Tour

Kia ora...we booked hobbiton and rotorua day trip with them...our driver, cheeky hanoz was right on time to pick us up and that was very impressive for time respecting people like us..he with his good sense of humor made the trip even more enjoyable...it showed in every interaction he had with us...enjoyed the nz trivia he did for the group ..we learnt a thing or two about nz than we already know...overall would recommend this company for seamless travel around auckland..they may be little pricey compared to others around but the good conditioned vehicles and the drivers who are nz aficionados make it worthy i guess...

Had such a fantastic time! The tour guide Jeoff was charming and accommodating, and the trip itself felt organised and well-coordinated. I could tell that they put a lot of care and effort in the planning from how smooth and comfortable the whole journey was. As a muslim, my only concern was the lunch provided. Understandably, it would be hard to cater to one specific halal meal when there are others in the trip who may not require such accommodation. Thankfully, I was still able to address this to them and they arranged for a vegetarian meal instead. 10/10 would go again!

We had an amazing time with Grant and Cheeky Kiwi. He kept us on time and well fed. We never had to wait in line and we even got tips before the tours stop so we were well Prepared for certain parts of the tours. It was fantastic.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Auckland to Rotorua tour with Ari (Arahia). Not only did I learn a great deal about New Zealand’s history and landmarks, but I also gained valuable insight into Māori culture through Ari’s personal perspective as a member of the Māori community. Ari has a warm, friendly personality and went out of her way to make my experience enjoyable throughout the day. As a deaf traveler, I especially appreciated the care she took to ensure my communication needs were met. She also made sure the guides at Waitomo Caves and Hobbiton were aware of my deafness and communication preferences, which helped me fully enjoy both experiences. The tour was well organized, informative, and filled with beautiful scenery along the way. I left with a deeper appreciation for New Zealand, its people, and its culture. I highly recommend this tour, and Ari (Arahia) in particular, to anyone visiting New Zealand.

Cam was an awesome guide/driver and my fellow passenger was great too (I did I tour party of a grand total of 2.) I would give Cam a 6 star if I could. Highly recommend. I hope you get him on your North Island adventures. Great trip with Cheeky Kiwi highly recommend the Auckland to Rotorua trip (via Waitomo Caves and Hobbiton.) I wish Cam could drive me all the way back home (Haast.) 11/10. Hope my Christchurch to Queenstown (via Tekapo and Mt Cook) are just as awesome as Cam. I was thinking of doing the Auckland to Rotorua trip just through Hobbiton but thankfully I did it with Waitomo caves. Huge shout out to the Matua (I forgot your name) at Waitomo Caves and Lana at Hobbiton.

I had a great day on this tour! Trent was a great guide who made sure everyone had a good time. He was well organised and we were never in a rush! He even had snacks! ;) Waitomo was a very unique experience withe the boat going through the cave and Hobbiton was great as well! You could even go to Hobbiton without having seen the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit movies. So much love for detail there! Would definitely recommend the Tour!

The tour was very well organised by the warm and cute guide - Ala..( sorry don’t remember the name properly … but he is this little bundle of joy who made the tour more interesting and special by being there with us throughout the journey and is also very knowledgeable. 5 stars to him!

Had an awesome tour to Hobbiton and waitomo with Alessandro. He was warm compassionate and kept us rolling along. His communication skills were excellent and it ensured there was no surprises. Hands down an awesome tour

This tour was great! Our guide Liam was a true professional: knew a lot of the subject plus a lot extra, was informative, funny, sensitive and did all he could to make us feel comfortable. He also found some cool bonus places we were able to stop by. Highly recommend taking this tour with Liam! The Waitomo glow worm cave was magical! Note that you can't take pictures inside, but maybe it's better to see it with your own eyes. Hobbiton was a swift run but totally worth it! The guide there knew so much about the place, and it was possible to just ignore that and take pictures if you prefer that. Liam the guide showed us some cool places also in Rotorua. We recommend to take the Te Puia night show in the evening if you have energy left in your tank :D

I had an amazing time on this tour. Everything was so well organized and our tour guide (Liam) gave us so much information along the way. He was super knowledgeable, positive and also hilarious! The caves were neat to see, and Hobbiton was a must! Such beautiful grounds and set. I also loved that it picked you up in Auckland and dropped you in Rotorua - a great way to move between destinations! All in all, I had such a wonderful day on this tour - thank you!

Lot of walking involved . See the Lord of the Rings once again to refresh your memory , that way u will definitely have a better experience . We had a lovely time - it is absolutely worth a visit . The place has been created with a lot of detailing - innumerable photo opportunities.

The bus driver / guide Allessandro was exemplary - informative , courteous and very cheerful . He made all the difference between a good and a great trip .

It was a wonderful day. Our drive/guide, Kim, was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, an exceptional driver, and got us everywhere safely and on time. I was also fortunate to share the tour with great group of tour mates. Overall, one of the best tours I've experienced.

Great guide. Provided humor and interesting history facts about New Zealand. When something was left on the bus he went out of his way to be sure we got it back. Very much appreciated.

As we were independent travellers without a car, this tour combines transfer from Auckland to rotorua, tour to glow worm cave and hobbiton in a cost effective, stress free and time saving manner. Was a lot of fun to spend the day with travel mates too

We had a wonderful experience with our Cheeky Kiwi tour. Our group was a great size, and we felt our time on the North Island was maximized. There is so much to see and do! The best part was our guide, Kim. She was incredibly hospitable, extremely informative, kept us laughing and on time, and helped us fall in love with her beautiful country. She took amazing care of our group and seemed to really want to connect with her guests. We feel really thankful we ended up with her!

Our guide was exceptional. Taught us so much about New Zealand. Hobbiton was fantastic. Glowworm caves were touristy but still really cool.

Dave, our tour guide/driver, was excellent. He was knowledgeable, organized and considerate. His attention to the little details insured that everyone walked away with incredible photos that captured memorable moments. These will become priceless memories. Dave made sure we were hydrated and well informed throughout the visit. His organizational skills an ability to unite the tour group, created opportunities for us to experience much more than we expected. The glowworm caves at Waitomo we’re absolutely magical. Topping that off with visit to Hobbton made for a perfect first day visiting New Zealand. Both locations provided insights to the mysteries and magic these places hold. Also, the guides provided understanding and history pertaining to the discovery of the glowworm caves, and why they are a special to the Mauro people. I highly recommend this tour. Bonus points if you secure Dave, as your tour guide and driver, incredibly grateful to have had this experience.

Absolutely the best tour I have ever been on. Our tour guide Dave was an absolute gentleman a very kind hearted soul Very professional and very knowledgeable about his culture and country. Went on 2 Cheeky Kiwi tours in 2 days - the Rotorura Maori Centre/Cultural Experience and the Hobbiton/Waitomo Caves. Both days were excellent and fantastic/memoral days out. Both the hosts (Hanoz and Mike) were friendly, efficient and welcoming. Water and small snacks were included, as well as lunch which was well organised. The busses were comfortable and had access to charge points. It was lovely getting to know fellow travellers and Hanoz and Mike helped to ease awkwardness and got people talking and feeling like a group, even for the few hours we were together. Everything was organised and communicated well, and suggestions were made to add/change activities to make the most of the day. Would certainly recommend and only wish I had more time to do more of their tours.

The guide John was spectacular. The tour is amazing and we love every minute.. Hobbiton is a wonderful place.
