Sam was an amazing tour guide and the tour was an excellent overview of the city and included lots of history and interesting facts. Highly recommend.

The Auckland Harbour Bridge spans Waitemata Harbour, connecting the Central City with the North Shore City. It stands as Auckland’s largest bridge and plays a vital role in the city’s infrastructure. Meet the unique extension of the Harbour Bridge, and New Zealand's largest Yacht Marina.
Westhaven Marina in Auckland, New Zealand, is the largest yacht marina in the Southern Hemisphere. Take memorable photos with Auckland’s beautiful marina, the iconic Sky Tower, and the spectacular city views as your backdrop.
Visit and experience one of Auckland’s famous beaches, Narrow Neck Beach. With its calm, almost lake-like waters and gentle waves, this beautiful Pacific Ocean beach offers a unique and peaceful coastal experience. The stunning views across the water, with Rangitoto Island — Auckland’s largest volcanic island — rising dramatically in the background, create a breathtaking panorama that is truly difficult to put into words. Take a moment to enjoy the beautiful scenery, fresh ocean air, and one of Auckland’s most picturesque coastal views.
Experience some of Auckland’s oldest heritage houses, one of its oldest hotels, and the historic seaside town of Devonport — one of Auckland’s earliest townships. Discover the unique and fascinating house designs that were popular in New Zealand around 100 years ago. In particular, Devonport is home to many beautifully preserved heritage houses, featuring distinctive architectural styles and charming historic details. Explore Devonport’s heritage streets and neighbourhoods, admire these unique homes, and experience a glimpse of Auckland’s rich architectural and cultural history.
Experience Rangitoto, Auckland’s largest and still-active volcanic island. Majestic yet breathtakingly beautiful, Rangitoto is a place that will captivate you and leave you falling in love with its natural beauty.
The North Head Historic Reserve, situated at the entrance of Waitemata Harbour, is one of Auckland’s volcanic mountain. It was transformed into a fortress in the late 1800s to defend against potential Russian invasions. Tunnels and cannons were strategically placed here as a deterrent against foreign aggression. Here you will experience entering the tunnel and come face to face with cannons made with the best technology of the time.
Mount Eden is Auckland’s highest volcanic mountain and a beloved tourist attraction, offering panoramic views of the cityscape from its summit. Check out the panoramic view of Auckland City here.
Auckland War Memorial Museum is one of New Zealand’s most important museums and historic landmarks. Located in the beautiful Auckland Domain, the museum showcases New Zealand’s history, Māori and Pacific cultures, natural environment, and wartime history. Experience the impressive Auckland War Memorial Museum, a magnificent building featuring grand Neoclassical architecture.
One of Auckland’s treasures, the Auckland Domain Wintergardens, opened in 1913 and has since captured the hearts of many. This garden features a large collection of chrysanthemum and showcases rare and exquisite plants. Enjoy a relaxing time with beautiful flowers and plants in the garden.

Sam was a wonderful host. He clearly knows the city well and cares for its people. It was a very enjoyable tour
Good tour if you're short on time, you get to see some really nice spots. Our guide, Sam, was wonderful and knowledgeable. We had a nice time.
Very good guide Very Informative
We had a great tour provided by Sam. He texted us the meeting details the day before and was right there. He took us all around the city to beautiful vantage points and gardens. Fantastic day. Thanks!!
Guide friendly and in formative. Arrived right on time and kindly assisted my husband who has mobility challenges.
Kamal did a great job getting us around Auckland. Narrated. When he needed to. Took us to the places we were scheduled to go. Very accommodating.
Informative, and fun.Sam was friendly and a great driver. The tour gave a great overview of Auckland especially if only spending a short time there. We recommend this tour.
Our tour guide Kamal was incredible and taught us and showed us amazing sites and things that we would have not been aware of before joing this tour. Plenty of time to soak it all in and experience different parts of Auckland. Thanks Kamal for a great day out and for showing us Auckland it was incredible. Thank you.
Our guide, Sam, was very knowledgeable about the area and geared the trip to our needs. He explained in detail about the cultural and answered all of questions.
Excellent short your & guide assisted us at each stop since some of us had walking sticks. Guide also asked us about rest stop breaks . He also accepted passby when we requested.
Great experience for both Danielle and myself. Sam was a terrific driver and guide. Danielle, not fluent in English, understood everything.
Interesting tour around Auckland area showing great sights and excellent views. I learned a lot and really enjoyed Sam as tour guide. He was knowledgeable and a fun leader for the tour and he explained a lot of the history and main characters of Auckland's past. Highly recommend this small group tour!!
Very interesting, informative and comprehensive tour. Sam was very helpful and considerate. We enjoyed the afternoon very much.
Sam was a wonderful guide and so informative. The tour was a good value and we saw special spots in Auckland that we would not have seen. Definitely recommend!
Sam was so knowledgeable and helpful, we really enjoyed our tour with him. This was a great tour to see the highlights of the city.
I highly recommend Sam and his tour . Very knowledgeable who went above and beyond. Overall very great experience
Very interesting and beautiful tour. We saw some very cool signés and got to know the city, its nature and its history.
We arrived on a cruise so with just one day to see some of Auckland. Talia met us at the terminal and her tour was a great way of seeing Auckland. We knew it was a small group tour, and it was awesome to find this meant it was just the 2 of us! It was a very wet day, but Talia managed to drive us to some places we would have had to walk which certainly helped. We visited all the places described with a helpful narrative plus Talia's local knowledge. Overall we had a great introduction to Auckland and highly recommend it if you don't have much time. Thanks Talia!
This was an amazing half day tour which covered all the main tourist attractions in Auckland. Sam was a fantastic guide whose zest and knowledge made the day truly memorable. There was ample time to pause and behold the breath-taking beauty of Auckland namely the Harbour Bridge, Westhaven Marina, North Head volcanic mountain, Mount Eden and the War memorial. Thank you so much Sam for your warmth and patience as we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
We strongly recommend this tour. The route covered the best sights of Auckland in just one morning. And we have plenty of time to make stops, take pictures and enjoy the places visited. Our tour guide/ driver, Sam was very courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and gave us recommendations for the rest of the day. The minibus was very clean and comfortable (we were only 4 passengers).
A must see for a short stay. Sam, a tour guide is very knowledgeable and take time to take questions and answers with no rush.
Sam was really good in explaining all the details and also helped us with vista points. It was a very good experience .
This tour was extremely disappointing for many reasons. The driver was not knowledgeable and was unable to answer even basic questions about the area. More concerning, we missed 3 out of the 6 scheduled stops on the itinerary, which is completely unacceptable. For example, the Holy Trinity Cathedral was closed—something the guide should have known in advance. Instead, we were dropped off at a random art gallery that was not even part of the itinerary. During stops, the driver would not stay with the group and instead told us to text him when we were ready to be picked up. At one point, he even left to get lunch while we were at the gallery. We also missed key locations entirely, including Westhaven Marina and North Head Reserve, which were highlights we were looking forward to. We travel frequently around the world and typically rely on Viator for well-organized, high-quality tours, so this experience was incredibly disappointing. The tour felt misrepresented and poorly executed. I would not recommend this tour to anyone and would actively suggest others avoid it. This experience did not reflect the tour description or the standard we have come to expect. Based on the missed itinerary items and overall service issues, I believe a refund is warranted. Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to your response.
It is a great way to give an overview of Auckland. We saw wonderful vistas and learned about the history of the city and the country.
Not a fan of the AI generated commentary, which didn't allow for any questions. Kamal was a good driver but definitely not a tour guide. We did see most of the stops listed on the itinerary.
I liked the places the driver took us but most were outside the city. The driver did very little speaking. . He had an AI vioice do it and the voice was very bland.
Israel was an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable and engaging. Loved the pace of the tour. Was a perfect tour
This was an excellent tour of many Aukland highlights. The driver, David, was proficient and knowledgeable of the history and geography. We learned so much!
Our family had a great day exploring Auckland with David. He was prompt, had great communication prior to our booking and the day of our tour. We were able to see a lot of highlights in a short amount of time. I recommend. Added bonus… he took lots of group photos for us!
Great way to see some of Aucklands beautiful sights & views with only having 1 day in Auckland. Our tour guide Park was fabulous. He was fun, Knowledgeable, very personable, & accommodating . Highly recommend him & this small group tour.
I was on a Carnival cruise ship headed to Auckland, New Zealand. I had a 9:00am city tour booked through Viator for my husband & I and three of our friends. Fog delayed the ship landing until 10:30 or so. The captain had announced this at about 8am. (It was really foggy!) I texted the tour operator and he said that he would have to cancel..Viator said the same. i understand cancelling, but why no refund? I will never book with Viator again for a cruise. It is unacceptable not to refund your money when it was not our fault.
I found the excursion to be well organized and the tour guide was really nice. She is a very good driver and we felt safe at all times. Good value for the money spent!
Wonderful time seeing the sights. Tour guide Talia was prompt, kind and courteous. No issues, would highly recommended. They even take pictures while on the tour and send you copies via email. Thanks 👍
Super convenient due to the pickup and drop off. Great for those who don't have time in Auckland. Wish the tour could have included the nice spots also like Ponsonby, Parnell, and Davenport areas too.
What a DELIGHT to visit some special locations in Auckland upon our first visit ever while on our 54 day cruise out of LA, California. Our drive & tour guide David was oh so very considerate of everyone in our small group - yet he provided us with a VERY comfortable van experience as well as adjustments to our travelers requests. Highly recommend is anyone has only a few hours time to visit Auckland.
The tour has great views of the bay, volcanoes and city. It’s a great overview of Auckland and its history. Our guide Kamal was prompt, friendly and very knowledgeable. He used AI in the van for the overview, but he shared more details as we walked around the various stops. For those of us who wanted, he dropped us off on Queen street and told us about the restaurants, bars and stores. The rest were delivered back to the ship. I recommend the tour for someone who wants some great highlights and scenery.
Israel our guide was excellent-the tour was as advertised and we were provided with good commentary and great information about Auckland.
We had a great tour with Sam. He gave us a lot of information regarding New Zealand and Auckland. He also answered any questions we had. Highly recommended.
The tour guide was very kind and courteous, but he did not speak good English. I only understood about 20% of what he said. He would play a recorded message when we got to. Site. VERY disappointing. I have used via tour and every one of my trips. I don’t understand why you don’t vet your tour guide guides.
It was a great tour. Sam was very informative. The van was very comfortable. It was the perfect pace for our group.
Sam was friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable able the areas of Auckland we visited. We would recommend this tour to our friends coming to Auckland.
Awesome guide, very polite and knowledgeable. Picked me up on time and my hotel and tour length was as advertised.
This is a terrific tour to see parts of Aukland, NZ. We went to a dormant volcano Mt Eden, winter garden with the most beautiful plants and flowers. We learned about the early architecture. The tour was fascinating and Tony was a terrific guide. I recommend this tour for all ages!!
I did not have a lot of time to be able to explore Auckland, so this tour was perfect to be able to squeeze in as much as possible in a short amount of time. If you only have limited time, I'd highly recommend this tour. Sam was lovely and I feel like I learned a lot about the city and country.
It was not as advertised we thought it was truly going to be a city tour of Auckland with a lot of narration on history current events and economics, security etc. we were the only two our driver was very nice, but he spoke very limited English. He couldn’t answer a lot of of our questions and understand a lot that we. said there should be some kind of warning on there about how much walking and climbing there is going up to the top of the volcano. Harbor head also had a lot of walking and step climbing. I don’t think we were prepared for that. . I just thought we were going to hear more history about New Zealand. We’ve taken a lot of via Tour tours. This was definitely the least favorite.
Sam was wonderful. It's a beautiful city and I didn't have a lot of time to be able to explore it, so this was perfect.
Great experience. Got to see a lot of attractions around Auckland. Our Tour Guide (Sam) was very informative and fun.
If you have little time, this was a very pleasant 3 hour tour. I liked the locations Sam showed us. I enjoyed the mild physical exertion of climbing hills for fantastic views, fresh air. Comfortable car with 4 other people I didn't know. It was perfectly paced, though I would have spent more time in the Winter Garden. The weather was nice, quite windy, but sunny and clear.
Great half day Auckland city tour!! Thanks to Sam who was the tour guide and very knowledgeable and knew the right spots for great photos too!. Covered quite a few places in short time. Great tour for those short on time.
