Our driver was Donna. Donna is personal, and incredibly knowledgeable of the Māiri culture from her life experience and family history. We visited Māori sites and learned some historical and political history of NZ. Donna is knowledgeable of plants for medicinal use which was useful to learn. The tour exceeded our expectations. It was a full day! (We were picked up in a Mercedes van which expedited our ride in the bus lane) .

See one of Auckland's most popular, golden sand beaches

Drive across Auckland's iconic Harbour Bridge linking Auckland City to North Shore
Views of Rangitoto Island from Auckland City
Drive through Auckland's last outpost Titirangi as we make our way to the beautiful Waitakere Ranges on Auckland's West Coast
Visit iconic and volcanic, black sand Piha Beach, a world-renowned surf spot on Auckland's West Coast

This tour was a lot of fun. Drew our guide was perfect. He knew a lot of obscure and interesting things to see. The Piha black sand beach was beautiful and very different than the black sand beaches in Hawaii. He gave us the freedom to hose what we wanted to see while on the tour. We did 4 tours with this company and from the very first we felt like good friends.
Just a clarification about the composition of the small group that participated in this tour experience - none of the options offered fit the actual group that I was part of. That being said, I am not speaking hyperbolically to say that the tour guide - Donna - was an amazing blessing to me and my Bride in her facilitation of the tour experience ❤️. Donna's insights and knowledge of New Zealand's history, culture and development provided us with a great sense of connection, so we felt like we were doing a meaningful dive into something vibrant and evolving. We especially appreciated the way that Donna answered all our questions and took special care to go beyond merely answers by providing useful background information that added significant context to the information shared 👍 😀 Thank you Donna for your buoyant and uplifting exuberance for your profession and your warmth of personality extended to us!! YOU made ours truly an amazing day ❤️ Grace and peace ...
We had a fantastic day touring the area with Curtis. Even though it rained on and off all day, we managed to see all the highlights. Curtis was passionate about respecting and protecting the natural environment in and around Auckland. He offered great insight into the history of the city, and the role we play in keeping it as such a special place. The centuries old Kera kera tree and the school of Conger eels near Piha were special highlights. After 19 hours in the air and a poor night’s sleep, this was a great way to kick off our month in New Zealand.
We were collected from our Hotel slightly earlier than expected. So definitely no waiting for transport. After introductions we were curteously escorted to a clean and comfortable mini bus. Driving to our next pick up Drew (our driver and guide for the day) informed us of his background and life experiences in a friendly and open manner. We collected a family of three (husband, wife and son) after a short five minute drive in traffic and our party for the excursion was complete. Drew introduced everyone and outlined how the day would unfold. We visited all the sights detailed in the intinery with Drew providing information on each place on the way to the sight and while at the place concerned. Drew's friendly outgoing nature help the group to gel and increased the enjoyment of the day. We were blessed with good weather and good company and all of us appreciated Drew's contribution to the experience. We would definitely recommend the tour and if any of you are lucky enough to draw Drew as your driver/guide, don't be surprised if you have a fun and informative experience.
An exceptional experience with Donna, our private tour guide for 2 days. She is very knowledgeable, kind and fun. We recommend the tour and Donna!
We were fortunate enough to have had Donna as our tour guide. Donna’s knowledge of the culture, landscape, history and flora/fauna of New Zealand, and the Auckland area in particular, was amazing. Often, tours like this seem dry, but Donna’s personality and obvious love of her country and culture made for a thoroughly enjoyable day. I highly recommend this tour-and ask for Donna!
We enjoyed a fantastic all day tour with Donna who is very personable, knowledgeable and engaging. She explained in much detail the history of the area and shared wonderful insights into Māori culture. She filled our day with adventure, great conversation and beautiful sights. We could not have asked for better a day in Auckland and the surrounding forest. Thank you Donna - we will certainly be back!
From the first energetic Kia Ora when she met us in our hotel lobby and the “official” Māori greeting until the parting hug at the end of the day Donna was pure joy. We spent an informative and relaxed full day on this tour as Donna shared her knowledge of and passion for her home town and her Māori culture. She showed us details of the CBD and suburban neighborhoods, memorials, mountains, beaches, forests, and the Winter Garden with energy and knowledge. This day is the next to last excursion of our 5 1/2 week tour of Australia and New Zealand, and it couldn’t have ended on a higher note—all thanks to Donna. Thank you
Curtis was amazing and so entertaining!!! He picked us up promptly for our all day city tour. We had the best time learning about the history of Auckland and New Zealand. We had lovely conversations about the Māori culture and historic sites. He took plenty of time to answer our questions and give us recommendations for restaurants, shopping and excursions. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to get a fun and relaxing experience.
Just had the best day! Donna was our driver/guide and was superb! From the moment of pickup from my hotel, she was friendly and informative! We picked up two more couples and the 6 of us had the best day enjoying the sites in and around Auckland! Donna checked with us throughout the day to ensure we were comfortable, enjoying ourselves and provided options of stops to suit our little group. The vehicle was spotless and the attention to detail was above and beyond. Bottles of water and snacks were readily available as well as phone chargers!!! Thank you so much Donna for an unforgettable experience!! Highly recommend this tour company if you are looking for a friendly tour with your comfort and enjoyment at the top of the priority list!!
The tour guide was very accomodating and took us every place that was described in the tour description. enjoyed it thoroughly.
A very good tour and an excellent guide - Donna. As first time visitors to NZ, this tour covered a lot of aspects of life and culture. Highly recommended.
Our tour director was absolutely incredible and is a real asset to your organization! She was kind, caring, very knowledgeable and went out of her way to make sure everybody was taken care of! I would recommend her without any reservations at all! Absolutely the very best! Extraordinary!
We had an incredible tour with Donna through this agency. She is so knowledgeable about the history of New Zealand and is very passionate about telling the stories about this great Country. She even brought us samples of different honeys and Vegemite lite to taste. She is very personable and easy to talk to. She answered all of our questions and made the entire tour an adventure!! Thanks so much, Donna!!!
Harry is such an incredible tour guide! We learned so much about the Māori people and their culture. He knew all the spots and history, and helped personalize the tour just for us. We feel so knowledgeable after a day with him, and we truly enjoyed his company and expertise. Highly recommended booking a tour with Time Unlimited, and specifically with Harry if you can!
Donna was our tour guide and she was remarkable. We not only saw incredible places, ate a wonderful lunch, but learned everything we wanted to know about the New Zealand culture. I highly recommend this organization, and especially Donna!
We had a very rainy day today-and Donna made it a very fun day! She is incredibly knowledgeable about the culture, plants, animals, history-she was amazing. It was a great day, the lunch was amazing, and it was overall nice getting to know the other people in our group. Donna encouraged us to ask questions, she never seemed rush and was totally prepared with umbrellas! Thank you!!!
It was a fun and informative tour! Curtis, our guide, did an excellent job! He provided lots of information, was happy to answer any questions, and suggested other highlights for our time in New Zealand
My husband and I had a 3 day tour with Curtis. Everything we experienced and saw was top-notch for our first visit to New Zealand. It was quite exciting to be in a part of the world that we knew nothing about other than a little bit on T.V. He was so knowledgeable, informative, and just had a very easygoing, fun personality. We saw so many things in such a short time, breathtaking coastline and rock formations, a visit to the Lost Spring to soak in their hot pools, a winery, experienced some great local spots for lunch, and just all the natural, green beauty of this amazing country. It could have been overwhelming, but Curtis broke it all down for us and we learned so much from him. The van ride was quite comfortable, there were snacks and drinks available for us, and I don't think I would have changed a thing. This was a great company to work with for sure.
THANK YOU CURTIS!!!!!!!!!!!! We were lucky enough to spend the first two days of our honeymoon with Curtis and he did not disappoint. He was an incredible driver and incredible company. He went above and beyond to tailor everything to our interests including food and activities. He set the tone for our 2.5 week trip and are so grateful.
Our day touring the area was a major highlight of our time in New Zealand. The views of Auckland and our visit to Takatunga/Mount Victoria were made special with the commentary provided by our Māori guide, Breviss. We learned so much about Māori history and culture. After a fabulous lunch, we travelled to the west coast and visited the beautiful Piha Beach. One of the most memorable stops on the way back to Auckland was seeing a 1,000 year old kauri tree. It was breathtaking! These are memories we will carry with us forever.
Great excursion!!! A must do!! Disappointed when the guide called my husband and I out by name for not being on the bus & said there were others as well. But here is the problem. She said she would pick us up on the other side, but didn't say don't go to the look out.
Brevus was a very fun and entertaining tour guide. He being of Mari decent gave a cultural tour about his ancestors and their plight after a treaty was signed with England. With only one day allotted to see the city, I would have liked a bit more information about the city but otherwise it was a great tour.
The full day tour allowed us to sample a broad variety of natural sites (an ancient kauri tree and the black sand beaches of Piha), the city of Auckland (the actively modernizing central business district and the yacht marina), and a distinctive take on the history and politics of New Zealand from a Māori cultural perspective. Breviss Wolfgramm guided us, dealing with the three very diverse couples on our tour, giving time and attention to cover all of our interests. He also offered recommendations for museums and restaurants to visit during our remaining time in Auckland. We're grateful to TIME Unlimited for the opportunity to spend a day in an active learning experience. Lunch at the Winter Garden was also very pleasant.
We had a fantastic day first day in Auckland. Our guide was wonderful and we learned so much about the city, Maori culture and surrounding area. The views of the city were beautiful and the rainforest and beach were breathtaking. It was a great way to kick off our trip to New Zealand!
We were so lucky to have such an amazing guide and teacher. We had our questions answered enthusiastically and we were privileged to learn about Māori and New Zealand culture and history from an active and respected member of the community. Thank you, Breviss. We saw beautiful places and vistas and got a great feel for Auckland.
Guide was very knowledgeable. This is the way to see everything. Takes you to the top of things and you don't have to do all the walking around to see things. Great views!!
I had such a wonderful experience with Harry and Donna as guides. They shared personal stories filled with local culture and language and even treated us at the end with local treats. It turned out to be a unique excursion!
This tour was special. The sights and scenery were amazing--so glad we decided on a tour outside the city. Our guide, Ceillhe, was very knowledgeable and a beautiful person. This tour was one of our favorites for New Zealand.
Piha Beach was stunning. We had a chance to see it both from the top of the hill and then walk on it.
The tour guides Harry and Duane were great. They gave us a good history lesson on the Māori cultures. The pinha beach was the best part
Great way to get a lay of the land in and around Auckland. Our driver guide was very knowledgeable about Māori culture and history. Immensely enjoyed our day with Julia! Snacks and water all day. Nice lunch at a cute little spot near the Winter Garden.
The tour guide was excellent and extremely knowledgeable about the city and its history and culture. Would highly recommend the tour.
Kaleigh was fantastic. Unfortunately due to the cyclone and landslides we couldn’t go to the west coast. However Our tour guide was able to make other accommodations for us.
Great day seeing Aukland and the outskirts of the city. Kaylie was a wonderful guide/driver, very knowledgeable and warm. Lunch was good. This is a very worthwhile tour.
We had an excellent trip with a lot of variety between city and outlying areas. A few of the quick stops in town could have been skipped. The view of the city from the heights across the bay in Davenport was excellent. I would have preferred more time in the natural areas outside of town where there are some short hikes to beautiful areas. I enjoyed learning about the Maori culture and traditions from our host and she did a great job of encouraging the group to become familiar with one another and talk about our experiences.
We broke the tour into two half days. We had a fantastic guide each day, Harry and Neil, who showed us the gems of the western coast - from the mountain tops to the black sand beaches and then the amazing volcanoes and craters and architecture of Aukland on the second day. We learned about Māori culture and origins in New Zealand and so much about the country. Our guides took us to little visited spots both days, which meant we were not part of a crowd, which we enjoy. We learned so much, which is important to us and why we travel. It was the best way to start our exploration of Aukland and New Zealand. Our transportation was great and comfortable, as well. You will not be disappointed with TIME Unlimited. They are absolutely first rate.
Neal gave us an amazing tour of Aucklands west coast. He picked a wonderful place for lunch. The 3 couples thoroughly enjoyed our day.
Our guide Daniel picked us up at the airport and took us all around Auckland and the coasts. He had so much knowledge about the Māori culture and history of New Zealand. It was an enjoyable, comfortable and fun day. Overall an excellent experience!
The interaction, sites and host. The host was the star who had a good approach.Attendees were encouraged to talk about themselves to the group. The day was long but enjoyable
My husband and I were on a cruise from Melbourne, Australia through New Zealand. As with most of our ports on this cruise, we had just one full day to check out the big city of Auckland. Wanting to see as much as possible in this short time, we scheduled a TIME Unlimited Tour. Our guide, Sofia, had a hard time getting to us at the port due to all of the construction in the CBD, and she asked us to walk a block over and meet her. Once in our van with 4 other people, we took off for what ended up being a really fantastic tour. We saw so many wonderful places in just eight hours. As a bonus, throughout the day, Sofia offered us local treats. We had delicious Kiwi Juice, crackers, cookies, and little candies called Jaffas that I crave still!
We had a great time on our Auckland city and West Coast full day tour. Our guide Sophia was a Maori (indigenous people to New Zealand). So we got to see all of our clients through her eyes. We had a small group of six people only which made it even better because of Sophia the trip was great there wasn’t any part of Auckland she didn’t take us too. We would definitely do this again
Sophia was our tour guide and she was fabulous! So knowledgeable, friendly, professional...she made this an extrodinary experience! Thank you, Sophia!
Time Unlimited tours is family owned & operated, offering a personal touch to touring often not found with larger companies. The time spent making sure your experience is special is spectacular. Our tour guide, Sophia, brings personal history and welcoming to each traveler. We highly recommend this company for New Zealand tours.
Hazel was such a kind and supportive host/guide. She went above and beyond to make sure all our needs were met throughout the day, and what an amazing day it was. We went off peak so a very tailored experience for our small group. Would go again in a heartbeat with this company, and would happily kidnap Hazel, you’re welcome to come visit any time! :-)
Cathy provided not only superb and informative visual experience but also introduction to Maori wisdom and culture. It was a welcome educational introduction to the beauty of New Zealand
The guide and driver were wonderful. They were friendly and very informative. I would take this tour again. Lunch was excellent and the views spectacular
Actually we did four tours with Hazel. She's the best, so knowledgeable and excited to share her love of New Zealand. From the first contact with Sheryl everything was handled smoothly. Hazel met us at the dock and we took all of our luggage (three couples) to our hotel. Then it was off on our first tour to see the "glow worms" at Waitomo Cave. Actually the glow worms look like icicles hanging down from the roof of the cave, but they have a blue tint glow that shows up in the dark. Very unique experience! The second day we did the Highlights of Auckland tour which included several beaches, Mt. Victoria, Westhaven Marina (the largest in the Southern Hemisphere, Auckland Damain Museum and Wintergarden and Hokey Pokey ice cream. The third day we did the Matakana Country tour with a couple of wine tastings, Pahoi Pub and Cheeses, a honey center and several parks. The fourth day was the Kumeu Country (wine and dine) where we spent about an hour at the Mission Bay Beach (all the beaches -both black and white sand - were awesome), ate lunch and wine tasting at Soijans Winery and then to the airport to begin the trip home. We had some great tour guides (and some not so great) on our 24 day trip, but Hazel was definitely the best
Spent the day seeing Auckland and surrounding area with Sophia. Wonderful experience. Knowledgeable, enthusiastic guide. Learned so much about the economics and culture. Highly recommended.
