We had a great time on our Waiheke guided tour. Our local guide Ardriani is very friendly and knowledgeable and took us around the Waiheke to show us the main highlights. We stopped many times along the tour to take photos. This tour is definitely worth taking if you want to see Waiheke from a local perspective.
Great trip around main bays on Eastern part of the island. Susan was an informative guide, and, because the vehicle was smaller than most, was able to access some of the smaller bays.
Due to timing, we went to Waiheke Island in the rain. While it was not as picturesque in the rain, we still had a lovely time with JoJo! We saw all the hot spots on the island and could get out to take pictures or take them from the van. JoJo was more than accommodating! We even paid extra to go to Mudbrick Winery, which was both beautiful and very tasty. I highly recommend this tour, even in the rain!
Karen was lovely. I would totally suggest this tour. If you are short on time and want to see the highlights of the island, this tour is a must!
Short, scenic and informative trip. We didn't feel like getting drunk on a winery tour so we did this instead. Lovely and worth the cheap price.
Graeme was so knowledgeable about Waiheke and my husband and I had the best day of hiking and beautiful scenery ending with an incredible lunch at Batch winery.
This was an excellent tour, Susan our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and good fun. We throughly enjoyed all 3 wineries and our lunch at Batch Winery was excellent, with views to die for.
Mathieu was a wonderful guide and so great to spend the afternoon with. The wineries we went to were all beautiful and Mathieu was able to add in so much information about the local area. He stopped at many viewpoints for photo ops, and took pictures that he sent to us. A great day, I would do it again.
We had a wonderful day with Kiwi Connect! JoJo was an excellent host, extremely friendly and full of information about the island. It is a beautiful island and a private tour really is the best option!
Graeme rang me the night beforehand to give meeting information for our tour. We virtually had a personal tour with information that was of interest to us regarding places we could return to after the tour. He dropped us off at our place of choice and we used the public transport to return to the other places that we wanted to spend some time at. He was very informative regarding the island history and places of interest. He was also interested in wildlife experiences in our country (Australia) that differ from New Zealand. We were interested to hear about some of his previous work experiences in other countries as well as his hobby of fishing on the island. We were not interested in wineries or fine dining and were happy with his suggestions for lunch and places to swim. Overall, this tour provided us with exactly what we wanted from this visit to the island. He was a very amenable guide and proceeded at a pace, including short stops, that enabled us to enjoy not only the views but also gain an insight into life on the island both past and present. A good friend of ours in Australia informed us that she lived on the island in her childhood when it was predominately a hippie influenced community. If you want a short personal introduction to what you can do on an extended stay on the island as well as sufficient information to fill in the rest of the day before catching the ferry back to Auckland. The price was more than competitive with other tours on offer. Des and Annette (active retirees) from Tweed Heads, Australia.
Mathieu was our personal tour guide, just my husband and I. He was absolutely amazing, so personable, and extremely knowledgeable about Waiheke Island. We stopped off at various beaches with the most stunning views. Picked us up at our chosen place on Waiheke and dropped us back off at the Ferry Terminal. The tour was in a comfortable electric vehicle and would highly recommend it.
We visited the island on a Friday in early December and booked a private tour with Kiwi Connect. This was the 1.5 hour driving tour to go around parts of the island to see some nice view points, with drop-off in Oneroa. Our guide, Jojo, was excellent and very informative. For those uninterested in the vineyard scene, this tour (and company) is a no brainer. This tour company is also great logistically, to make your life easier on the back-end or downstream end of planning any vacation. I.e. readily available and in touch via WhatsApp and intently focused on accommodating two adults traveling with an infant. This became even more important when we were blindsided with car sickness in rear facing car seats when we were driving around the Northland prior to this. *Could not recommend them enough for families with young children.*
Susan went above and beyond to ensure we did not miss the hidden gems of the island. The weather was sunny, and we were able to fully enjoy the island's charm. I also appreciate Graeme’s quick responses, especially when I encountered misinformation about the tour on TripAdvisor (I thought we would be picked up from our hotel in Auckland). Without his prompt help, we might not have booked the ferry tickets.
This tour was absolutely phenomenal! My friend and I met our tour guide very easily at our pick up location and got to see so much of the island during our tour! Our guide also provided us with a lot of information about the wildlife of Waiheke Island and gave us some really good recommendations for the rest of our time in New Zealand. 10/10 would recommend!
Feeling bacon to eels ! Graeme delightful , flexible , knowledgeable, fun , and endearing. We enjoyed his company enormously
Graeme was an absolutely wonderful tour guide! We unfortunately missed the earlier ferry and he was so accommodating for us. We saw some really beautiful areas of the island and he brought us to see the roosters, which my 8-year-old absolutely loved. This is a great way to spend an evening!
First, they meet you at the ferry, which is very nice, but no where in the confirmation does it say look for the Kiwi Connect Taxi and tour sign. After a bit of wandering we were able to work it out. The electric van was clean, quiet and comfortable. We were driven to some beautiful beaches which we would not have found on our own. The guide didn't offer much background or information on the island. She was friendly and nice, but couldn't answer our questions about the infra structure of the island, how things worked, the economy and native and imported plants and animals. We were glad we took the tour, but it could use some improvement.
Easy going and amazing ride across the island Suzanne the guide was really sweet and knowledgeable I Was so lucky with the weather So I was able to stop whenever I wanted to look around and explore Also they recommended a great vineyard with a beautiful restaurants and the view was beyond beautiful
A personal, informative tour with Graeme : the history, layout and amazing views Highly recommend :)
We booked a last minute mini Waiheke tour in the afternoon before we caught the ferry back to Auckland. We had such a great time and turned out to be the highlight of our day. It’s amazing what you can pack in on such a short amount of time but our tour guide took us to so many interesting and beautiful places and had so much local knowledge. Thoroughly recommend!
A wonderful experience and great way to get an overview of the island. We were met at the wharf by our driver/guide Sue, who was great in showing us key sights and accessing areas where bigger vehicles cannot go. Very flexible, accommodating our interests, sharing her experiences and knowledge, recommending and booking lunch, Sue ensured a great time. So glad we did this. Highly recommended.
