A pleasant place with basic, comfy rooms and nestled in the gorgeous Parnell. Full Breakfast was nice and comforting for me. Staff were very responsive and understanding to a couple of requests so left me feeling grateful. Great location that is handy enough to centre if you’re a walker , otherwise a really simple ridesharing route from centre. My favourite part is the drive down to Parnell from Airport where you get to soak up the odd geography of Auckland and go up and down on the hills. Explore the nearby garden spots and Rose for a great scone !

★☆☆☆☆ I stay in hotels and other accommodation frequently and, despite countless stays at different properties, have never previously felt compelled to leave a review — good or bad. Unfortunately, this experience prompted my first. I want to be completely upfront: the original mistake was mine. I accidentally booked a non-refundable room for exactly one year in the future and was charged $96. I realised the error when I arrived at the hotel expecting to stay that night. I understood the terms of the booking. My disappointment is entirely with how little flexibility was shown in finding a practical solution. While I was standing at the hotel, Booking.com had a comparable room available that night for $127. My proposal was simple: keep my $96 and let me pay the $31 difference. Alternatively, refund the $96 and I would immediately put it towards the $127 Booking.com rate. I was already there, needed accommodation and fully intended to stay with them. Unfortunately, at approximately 4pm, nobody at the hotel appeared to have the authority to approve a solution. The alternative eventually presented was effectively to move my booking at the hotel's $199 rate. I found this particularly strange because Booking.com was how the hotel got my business in the first place. Yes, my $96 rate was attractive because it had been booked a year ahead, but standing there that very day, Booking.com was still offering a comparable room for $127. Paying $199 to make use of $96 I had already paid made little sense. Booking.com were willing to assist from their end, including waiving what was required if the hotel agreed to the refund. The hotel still declined. I even offered to accept a reasonable cancellation/admin fee of $25. Losing $25 and putting the remaining $71 towards somewhere else was more useful than a credit requiring another hotel stay to use. Eventually I was offered the $96 as an accommodation-only credit. I asked if it could instead be used at the hotel's restaurant so I could realistically make use of the money. This was also declined. I was told I would need to book another future stay and contact the hotel to find out what the final tariff would be. At that point, I told them to simply keep the $96. I needed accommodation that night. I have no reason to manufacture another stay a year or two from now simply to recover money already spent, potentially while paying considerably more to do so. There were multiple opportunities for a reasonable compromise: let me pay the $31 difference, accept Booking.com's waiver and refund me so I could immediately rebook, charge a reasonable cancellation fee, or allow the credit to be used elsewhere at the property. I fully accept that I made the original mistake and that the hotel was entitled to enforce the booking conditions. But being entitled to do something and providing good customer service are two different things. The final outcome is remarkably simple: the hotel has my $96, I received nothing for it, and I've told them they can keep it. For someone who stays in accommodation frequently and has never previously felt strongly enough to leave a review, it's genuinely disappointing that this is the experience that finally prompted one. Unfortunately, one star.
Great place to stay. We found the bed to be extremely comfortable. The shower was fantastic. The room was warm and comfortable. The view from the balcony was awesome. Breakfast in the restaurant was nice. If I had to name something we didn’t like it was the noise the heat pump units on the balcony made there were two on the balcony ours and the next door room. But overall we loved our stay and will be doing it again
Best bed and pillows we have ever had in a motel, great service, very comfortable room. We had a nice view from our room, good heating/cooling. The restaurant was fabulous - highly recommend!! The outside is a little dated, and the shower doesn't have a fan (but does have a shower dome). We were also in a weird room that shared an entry way with another room - the people in there kept loudly opening and shutting the entry way door late into the night which was a pain.
Great experience with the hotel, from booking requests being followed to simple and easy check in, including storing our bags when we arrived into Auckland well before check in time. It was much appreciated. The room we stayed in was on level 2, in the seperate building a 2 bedroom apartment. It was well appointed, had everything we needed, was close to the guest laundry and was clean and comfortable. It would have got a 5 star if the main bedroom had a security stay on the window, i must admit that had me a little nervy with the kids! Otherwise quiet, great sleep quality and would be happy to recommend :) beautiful city view of the sky tower from our room at night was cool, great location. Carparking included :)
