Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour

Had an absolutely wonderful staycation for my birthday! Highly recommended! I've stayed in most of the Accor hotels in Auckland & this wins hands down! The service is excellent! Staff are friendly, helpful & responsive! Breakfast is spectacular! An impressive range of options & the weekend chocolate buffet is simply divine!!!

We stayed at Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour for two nights and had an amazing time. The room was beautiful, the location was perfect, and the concierge and valet teams looked after us really well. A special mention to Anna, who welcomed us when we arrived and was also there when we checked out. She was so lovely and even gave us a guide to some of the best places to eat in Hanoi for our upcoming Vietnam trip, which was really thoughtful. Our baby was given a teddy bear named Sofie, along with a little book about her adventures. It was such a nice touch and something we’ll keep as a reminder of the trip. Also, a special mention to Hibiki, who looked after us in the Club Millésime lounge, and Hamish, who took great care of us during a fantastic dinner at La Marée. We didn’t get a chance to use the pool, spa or gym, but they all looked great. Overall, we had an awesome stay and would happily come back.

This was our first trip to New Zealand from Australia, and we chose Sofitel Auckland because we were looking forward to a comfortable and memorable stay. When we checked in on Monday evening, the front desk staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. They kindly assigned us to Room level 6th on the top floor, which was very quiet and made for a wonderful stay. We really appreciated their hospitality and the excellent first impression they gave us. However, after checking out on Wednesday and returning for another stay on Thursday, our experience was quite different. A different receptionist checked us in and assigned us a room on the 4th floor. Unfortunately, the room had much poorer soundproofing, and we could clearly hear noise from outside. I also noticed that the room was equipped with a standard hairdryer instead of the Dyson hairdryer provided during our previous stay. In addition, one roll of toilet paper had been partially used and had not been replaced with a fresh one, which made the room feel less well prepared. Overall, our first stay showed us how wonderful this hotel can be, but the second stay was disappointing because the quality and room standards felt inconsistent. I hope Sofitel Auckland can provide a more consistent experience for every guest, as it is otherwise a lovely hotel in a great location.

Hotel location is at the edge of the Viaduct Harbour so it takes around 5-10 minutes walk to the area where the restaurants are located. Check in was fast and member recognition is quite good in the hotel. Our room was quite spacious with plenty of amenities and air conditioning work perfectly. Housekeeping team did a great work servicing the room twice a day with daily housekeeping and turndown service. Breakfast is the only weak point from our experience as there is limited hot items from the buffet and every guest is only limited to one choice from the ala carte menu. At least most of the items we tried taste good. Overall a good option if you are looking for Accor group hotel near Viaduct Harbour area.
