The bed is great, the room great and I like that they are quiet and have extra dark curtains. The pool is also nicely heated and like that you can take drinks rooftop as long as they are not in glasses or crockery

Rating: 0.5/5 ⯨☆☆☆☆ - Avoid if You Expect a Modern 4-Star Hotel Disappointing Stay – Checked Out After One Night I am unsure how this hotel is still categorised as a 4-star property. In my opinion, it does not meet the standards expected of a modern hotel in 2026. I booked this hotel for a two-night business trip but decided to check out after just one night. The rooms and amenities are extremely outdated. The bathroom was particularly disappointing. The water pressure was very low, and the bathtub shower screen did not provide adequate coverage, causing water to spill onto the floor during every shower. The bathroom floor quickly became flooded, creating a slip hazard for guests who may not notice the water buildup. The air conditioning ventilation unit also had a constant rattling noise throughout the night. I checked in at around 1:00 AM after a long day of travel and was exhausted, hoping for a good night's sleep. Unfortunately, the noise made it very difficult to sleep, and I barely got any rest. The staff were friendly and courteous, and I have no complaints about their service. However, the hotel itself is in urgent need of significant upgrades and refurbishment. Given the current condition of the property, I believe the star rating should be reviewed and reduced to more accurately reflect the guest experience. Alternatively, the room rates should be lowered to better match the quality of the accommodation provided. At its current price point, the hotel offers very poor value for money.
Genuinely not sure how this hotel managed 4 stars to this point. The rooms are beyond dated and not very well maintained. The carpet in my room looked like it had stains from the 80s on it that nobody had even bothered to try and clean. I couldn't bring myself to walk around without socks on. The noise level in this building is tantamount to living in a college dormitory- banging and yelling at all hours of the night. The bathroom smelled strongly like bleach. The shower has no real door so after using it the floor has nearly as much water on it as the pool upstairs. The staff were nice enough though I think I saw maybe two of them during my entire stay. For the price paid, I had higher expectations. At best, this is a budget hotel and if you're looking for any kind of amenities, I strongly suggest booking elsewhere. All in all an incredibly disappointing end to my trip and I very much regret booking this hotel. Will not book again.
A pleasant stay and had parking included in special deal. Great location. Chromecast in room didn't work for us. Beds were soft, but slept well. Large room with great view of the harbour. Room was a little dated, single glazed so a bit of evening traffic noise. The fridge could have been a bit cleaner, but as we only used the provided milk, not too much of a problem. We didn't use the outdoor pool, but looked to be heated and a really nice rooftop setting. Reception staff very helpful and friendly.
NOT a 4-star Hotel!! Staff very friendly and helpful and main reception lovely. Sadly the room was dated and very old (with a stove, washing machine and dryer and yet not a single hook or rail to hang up the towels - perplexing). On the plus side the shower pressure was excellent and the room was clean. I repeat - this is not a hotel as some rooms are long term rentals (our neighbour had been there 4 years) and there are no onsite breakfast/lunch facilities, only an Indian Restaurant for dinner. Signage from outside on the street is confusing. For the Hobson St (main entrance/reception) - there's only a large sign for the Indian Restaurant!! This meant we went round the block and found the other entrance first, which has good signage outside but an unmanned reception desk!!! There was NO instruction about how to get to the other/main reception, but eventually, by going upstairs and being nosey, I found directions. The rooftop pool and spa pool was beautiful - great spot and views, but sadly could've been cleaner! Oh, and the jet button for the spa didn't work either. All in all, it was in a good location, but was certainly not good value for money as we had booked a special weekend away expecting a bit of luxury which we certainly did not get.
