Thermal Spa - Wellness & Leisure Experience At Lake Vouliagmeni In Athens

There could be a line to get in and you wait until there is space. It’s worth the wait. The fish do tickle a lot.

We were looking for something different to do while on vacation so we decided to try the thermal spa and lake for a few hours. The lounge chairs and umbrellas were of average price for the area and were clean and in great shape. Access to the lake was great and there were several entrances, including those who might require assistance (we didn’t require assistance so I can’t speak to the use of that equipment.) The temperature of the lake was perfect and little fish swam right up to us and immediately started to feast! It just tickled. If you kept moving you could be free of them. The area is very scenic so it is a very calming place. We didn’t book other services due to time restrictions but enjoyed our time.

Viator let us down badly. There was no need to use them, taking a can or Uber would have been the way to go. Had to pay entrance fee, so all Viator offered was transport, 220 Euro return to city, an uber would have cost 60 Euro return. The lakes were lovely.

Theo was our guide and driver. He was very attentive, kind, and informative. My husband and I had a wonderful spa day with this experience.

What a relaxing day. Theo was a great guide for the day and his conversation and humour were the icing on the cake. Amazing lunch stop with the best meal we had in Greece. The lake is a must visit!

What a day! Spent the morning at the Spa, which was beautiful and genuinely relaxing - even though we got a little rain towards the end! Then our marvellous guide Theo took us to a delicious off-the-beaten-track fish restaurant, telling us about Athens the entire way! Cannot recommend this service enough!

My wife and I had an amazing time with the lake and lunch, all thanks to our tour guide Theo. He was funny, kind and knowledgeable both about the local area and the country in general, and he really cared about showing us a great time. No complaints at all, I’d recommend him and the experience to anyone.

We visited Lake Vouliagmeni Thermal Spa as a family and enjoyed the calm, natural setting. The warm water and open surroundings made the visit comfortable and easygoing for all ages. The area felt clean and well managed, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed without feeling crowded. It was a pleasant way for our family to spend time together while enjoying a peaceful wellness experience near Athens.

Well didn’t appreciate getting yelled at by tour guide because she said she couldn’t find us , we were at hotel waiting as per the instructions.she never bothered to come to hotel to look for use. The tour itself was good , but at lake we were chased from one lounge to another , saying they were all reserved , so we ended up sitting on a chair . The amount of money we paid , was not worth it ..

This was a great tour. Melina our guide was so knowledgeable and her care made this the perfect introduction to Greece. Lake Vouliagmeni and Posidons temple were both impressive. To top it off we had lunch at a local restaurant with freshly caught seafood. Highly recommend for a fun day out

We visited this place twice on our holiday, the first time as part of a trip to the Temple of Poseidon package. We enjoyed it so much and felt so refreshed from it that we decided to return for a longer visit. We paid extra to be under the pine trees in a more private area. The water was lovely to swim in, the sun loungers very comfortable and the complimentary towels large and soft. Private showers and changing areas were close by and staff were on hand to take food and drink orders. The food portions are generous and reasonably priced. Giorgos our driver picked text me in the morning to confirm the time of pickup and arrived on time. The luxury car was comfortable and had A/C and bottled water for us to keep cool on the hot day. Giorgos was very polite and friendly, and we chatted on our journey together, with him giving us some information about the area along the way. He was ready for us when we were finished at the lake, to drive us back to our hotel in Athens, and even made a small detour after I said there was a local landmark I’d like to see. He stopped so I could take some photos before continuing on the journey. I really appreciated him for allowing this as it added to our experience. When dropping us off he gave us a gift of traditional sweets which was a nice touch.

Melina was awesome! So knowledgeable and friendly - she gave us a lot of really interesting info about the lake and the history of Athens. She also gave us some great recommendations on what to eat for lunch after our swim. Highly recommend Melina and this experience!

Our host Melina was excellent. Explained the lake and gave us historical information. She was knowledgeable. The fish that nibbled on our body was funny. Really enjoyed the experience.

The tour was merely a transfer from the hotel to and from the lake. Arranging your own transport to the lake would cost less than half the cost and definitely would be more cost effective. For the amount paid we assumed it wound include the entry fee to the lake and were even more disappointed to find out that this was not included. After an hour or so it was time to go. The amount of time we were given to spend at the lake was also not enough. The lake itself is very pretty and the surroundings are stunning but the amount paid and the overall experience did not correlate needlessly to say it left a sour taste in one’s mouth. We expected more and felt cheated.

Very nice area, not too crowded. Beautiful scenery, nice clear water we could cool off, a little expensive but worth it.

Great activity for the family, enjoyed the fish spa, it was the highlight for the family. Excellent team in crispy local. Enjoyed our trips with the agency, the manager (John the Beloved) and the tour guide assigned to us (and most excellent Theo). Made every penny we spent worth it, they are about the details. We did ask a lot of questions because we had experienced cancellations from other tour agencies and John was very patient with us answering our questions and providing guidance on fit for purpose tours for our family. Highly recommend the crispy local team!

We booked this experience months ago before we left home. After arriving in Athens we had great communication with the Crispy Local team and arrived at our hotel on time to pick us up. Lovely clean luxury car and fantastic driver and guide, Giorgos. Easy drive from Athens with lots of information along the way. The lake experience was great, a very relaxing and enjoyable swim and soak. After Giorgos picked us up took us to a great little local taverna for a traditional Greek lunch. A really fantastic day and definitely recommend it!

The experience was great - the driver arrived on time and was kind & informative about Lake Vouliagmeni's history as well as Greece's. However, one of the inclusions were "culinary welcome gifts" which my group I hadn't received at all, nor did we know what they were. But that did not bother us much, as we were satisfied with the journey, the driver and the spa experience.

We had a beautiful time in Lake Vouliagmeni. Our driver Dimitris was very nice, well informed, polite and hospitable. We definitely recommend to others!

Staff were not helpful. Price should include towels and a reserved lounger for the price. There was no welcome gift of any kind. Water was fine but steps into the water were very slippery.

We were very lucky to have perfect weather and a very personable driver who described the area along the way to Vouliagmeni Lake as well as the lake itself. We had a delicious lunch at a traditional restaurant, followed by tasty, fresh, homemade ice cream at the “Waffle House”.

Theo was an excellent driver. He pointed out important things along the drive and provided insight to the culture. We arrived at the lake before 11am and had no issues finding general admission beach chairs. The place started filling up after 12. The lunch stop was 5 ⭐️ with very large servings. All in all, this was a lovely tour to escape the hustle of Athens.

It was breath taking and relaxing. The fish kissing our feet was amazing. Driver was extremely nice and knowledgeable. Lunch was fantastic.

Great tour! Our driver was fantastic. Knowledgeable, friendly and a good driver. We were active in choosing how the day went and each option in the package was awesome. Poseidon’s temple, the thermal lake and the restaurant suggestion created a very enjoyable day.

This thermal lake near Athens was stunning and the personalised tour made it truly unforgettable . I felt amazing afterwards. The lake water was crystal clear, perfect temperature for swimming and there were tiny fish that cleaned your skin! The guide Melinda professional and engaging, sharing insights into the history of the lake, of Athens and even Greek philosophy! The tour was perfectly planned and the traditional Greek lunch was the best food I’ve eaten here. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an easy, relaxed way to explore Athens and beyond!!!

We loved our tour. Melina was honestly the best tour guide we’ve had on any of our visits to Greece. She was friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable, able to answer all the questions we had about not only the Temple and Lake, about all of Athens and more. Melina made us feel at comfort and ease, she had all the time in the world for us. Stopping off at any view points along the way. The Lake was relaxing and beautiful, but wish we had reserved and booked our tickets ahead, as we could have reserved a lounger each. The fish took a little getting used to, it was a strange experience to be immersed with a full body exfoliation, I would definitely go back. The Temple was stunning, very interesting indeed. Both places are a must when visiting Athens. We would book tour upon tour if we could guarantee Melina as our tour guide and had more time. she made the experience better than we could ever had imagined, with grace and ease. A wonderful day, exceeding all expectations. Our hotel was outwith the pick up vicinity but for a small fee arrangements were made to collect us from our hotel and dropped back off, making the experience completely stress free. Customer service second to none, very accommodating.

The lake experience was absolutely amazing and George, our Guide was fabulous 💖 We enjoyed the day very much.. it was lovely to wind down before we headed home. The little fish were fun, it was a relaxing feeling. The restaurant we were taken to for lunch was also fantastic, the good was delicious. I would highly recommend the excursion. We both loved how knowledgeable George was, he made us feel very welcome and comfortable, we felt we had known him for years😃George made an amazing day even better, 10 out of 10 🤩🤩🤩

Thanks for arranging the trip and lunch afterwards. I would recommend that everything in the trip was paid for though. We still had to pay for entry to the lake. All in all the driver was friendly, amenable and informative. He gave us a small token of chocolates and olive oil though they took that away at the airport sadly! Though we really enjoyed our day, I do wonder whether we may have saved a great deal by arranging a regular taxi to the lake and found our own place for lunch!!

We loved this so much we went twice!!! We made our way by public transport, it took an age with the metro and a bus from central Athens but it was worth it. The facilities are clean and the food and drinks were good. We are in the restaurant the first time and wish we had done that again the second time it is much better than the food sent to your deck chair. We did try to upgrade to the cabanas on the return visit, you need to book ahead. The vibe was chilled and it was a great day swimming in the lake or pausing to let the fish feed off you. I would recommend this as a must do on your stop in Athens. The return trip was in our last day in Athens, there was space enough to take our carry on cases, so after we checked out of our apartment we headed back for the day. It didn’t disappoint. Our guide Mike was informative and friendly. For the cost of the tour you are not provided sufficient time at the lake. We chose to eat at the lake, so Mike used our extra time to show us other sites.

The natural beauty of the lake and history to have just outside of busy Athens was spectacular! Temperature was just right in a hot Athens day!

Beautiful lake and scenery. Swam for over an hour and felt rejuvenated. We had a wonderful driver who was very informative about the area, Greek history and the landmarks. This is a definite must do if you have time. Just about 30 minutes outside Athens City.

Alex was wonderful! He answered questions as we asked them and provided a nice experience. The lake was beautiful, too windy for me to swim, but putting my feet in the water was nice. The fish made for a wild experience and brought plenty of giggles. Lunch was also delicious! Note that you must pay the entrance fees for the lake in addition to the tour price.

Firstly, all love to our drivers George and Chris. Fantastic talking with them, they’re so kind and knowledgeable, and I hope they flourish for the rest of their lives. Secondly, you are not actually paying for admission to the thermal spa. The spa opens March 15th, and we were here March 3rd, so the spa was closed. And we had to pay an extra 19 euros for admission to the lake. So don’t say “thermal spa” in the title and then not include the actual admission to the spa. What you are paying for is the chauffeur and the lunch that you aren’t advised to spend over 70€ on. Even though our price tag for the whole experience plus lunch was like $340 for 2 adults. Our “culinary gift” was two plastic water bottles. Also, the word “thermal” is misleading. “Thermal” in this lake does not automatically mean “warm.” It means “less cold than the ocean.” Overall, you can get a taxi and pay significantly less. You don’t need a third party chauffeur to take you to the lake. (One more time, to George and Chris. You two were so cool and we’ll remember you forever 💛)

Pack your swim gear on your city break to Athens! Amazing geo-thermal lake, about 30-45 mins downtown from Athens city centre. Can reach direct via the Hop-On Hop-Off bus. This is a private venue and you'll pay 15-20 euros per head to enter. Once inside there are deckchairs to use on a boarded platform next to the lake. There is a decent cafe on site which can bring food to your seats. You could easily spend all day here, away from the beach hordes. The lake shoreline is shallow but full of the tiny fish that nibble your toes to eat the dead skin, so can be off-putting for some. Once in the water, they don't bother swimmers and you can swim in water as deep as 18 metres in a quite stunning setting. Water temperature is @23-25 degrees: not warm but not cold either. In the Athens summer, a cooling joy. Shower/changing facilities are very clean but likely involve a long wait to use in high season. There are free lockers. Pack a towel, or two. Small tip: outside the venue you can catch the 122 bus to the nearest metro stop of Hellinko and be back in the city centre quickly.

Driver very friendly and helpful. The lake was very clean and even though it was a cold windy day the water was managable. If you sit on the steps in the water you will get an amazing fish pedicure. We chose to add the lunch option in beach taverns, food and service were great.

The ride to the lake was beautiful along the Athenian coast. Our driver pointed out any interesting points, and answered all of her questions about any buildings we saw along the way. Our driver was easy to communicate with about the pick up at the end of the visit and allowed us to stop for lunch. The Lake is absolutely spectacular. The water is clear and there is room for quite a crowd. Someone will come to your seat and take your order for a drink or food. Beautiful way to spend a day.

At first looking at the trip, I wasn't sure what to expect. Once I got there, it was amazing. The beauty of the lake, the atmosphere and the drinks were great! I had never had the little fish eating at my feet, never wanted to, but so glad I decided to do this. It was amazing! Fish were nibbling but it wasn't something scary or bad. It's just a tickly feeling. I am glad we decided to take this trip. We did the lunch after. The drive to the restaurant was beautiful. The meal was great. This is a must when you go to Athens. It's 2 hours at the Lake, just relaxing and then you can choose the lunch option.

It was much more than we expected! The water was amazing and the whole vibe of the area was great, very relaxing. The little fish were exciting and felt very good. We also had the best driver, Ioannis. He was amazing and very accommodating. He was like a friend. I highly recommend him and this tour.
