The Acropolis Treasure Hunt: Licensed Guide + Interactive Puzzles

Our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids ages 14, 10, 7) really enjoyed this experience. Harris did a great job keeping everyone entertained and had fun puzzles and lots of information to share about the city. Our 14 year old really loved the greek mythology information. And she did a good job of keeping the 7 year old engaged as well. The tour does not go up to the Acropolis, but we went nearby....which worked for our family.

Excellent tour and treasure hunt mixed in one. We had a great time and would highly recommend.

What a fun, energetic, and active experience! Charis was an incredible guide and did a wonderful job engaging with us adults and our 10-year-old and 13-year-old. We had gotten in very late into Athens and she did a great job keeping us awake that afternoon. 😁 We also hired her to do a tour of the Acropolis with us and we learned so much. We recently participated in a treasure hunt in Athens with a large group of 35 people, and it was an unforgettable experience! The challenges were engaging and well-designed, making the adventure both fun and intellectually stimulating. The sightseeing was absolutely breathtaking, allowing us to explore the city’s hidden gems in a unique way. The hosts were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They clearly know Athens inside and out, and their passion for the city made the experience even more special. They prepared an amazing adventure for us, ensuring that everyone had a fantastic time. We booked this last minute to fill out our Athenian itinerary and it turned out to be a great way to get introduced to the Acropolis and its surrounding areas. Charis instantly clicked with my 8 year old daughter and joked that she would keep her to do tours with her going forward. She made sure to include my more introverted 4 year old daughter, and did a great job of incorporating my wife and I in the treasure hunt. The weather was very warm but she found us water spots to refill our bottles and maneuvered around seeking out shade to help keep us cool. It's a great way of getting the whole family involved and simultaneously learning.

We had an absolutely amazing time with this activity. We were two families and we have 2 children aged 10 and 11. The treasure hunt activity was incredibly well planned with bringing in some beautiful learning along with the treasure hunt activity. A great way for both our children and for us to learn. Charis, the event host, connected incredibly well with the children and with us, and was a pleasure to be with.

This was the perfect family tour. Our two teens enjoyed learning Greek history and discovering ruins while solving riddles and playing games. The adults loved it too! Charis is warm, friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and a superb guide.

An Acropolis Treasure Hunt? Yes, please! What better way to explore the ancient sites that skirt the Hill of the Acropolis, engaging with history (and the intriguing traces of Greek we use in modern-day English)? Similar in format to an outdoor “escape room”, this fictitious mystery of a missing archaeologist takes you on a walking exploration from one site to the next. You are given a bag of props at the start and, at each stop, there is a puzzle to solve. No need to feel intimidated if you aren’t a confident code-breaker: the puzzles are fun but not overly difficult. If you get stuck there is a game leader on hand to give you all the hints you might want. There was also a good variety of puzzles, so that everyone can have a chance to shine. This treasure hunt was a great half-day out in the city. We played it as an adult couple, but it would be enjoyable for families with young children, too, or groups of friends. Especially recommended if you want to discover as much of ancient Greece as you can fit into your trip but have kids (or adults!) in your group who might grow bored with repeated museum visits. An additional note: It was my partner’s first visit, while I had explored, researched and written about many of the sites on previous trips to Greece. Charis skilfully managed these different levels of background knowledge so that we both got to play an enjoyable game. She was a ray of sunshine and a fabulous game leader, generous with her knowledge about the history of the area. She was also very flexible with timing, accommodating our need to start and finish early to have plenty of time to get to Piraeus for the afternoon ferry.

Charis was an amazing guide! She was so good with the kids (9 - 12) and also kept the adults engaged with all her specialized knowledge. A great thank you to the team of the Acropolis Treasure Hunt because you helped to bond our team. We participated in the game as an organization looking for a team building activity and we enjoyed every minute of it. We learned a lot, there was something for everybody, even for native Greeks who are supposed to know their history. Go ahead and book a game!

This was a fantastic experience, and would be fun for all ages and groups. We chose to do this as a team building exercise for our team and it was the perfect end to our retreat. The guide was well informed, helped us all enjoy our time together and learn about historic Athens with the challenge of cracking a few puzzles at the same time! I would absolutely give this 5 stars and would highly recommend.

The tresure hunt was great fun. We booked it as a gift for the birthday of m brothers. The surroundings were perfect for people to get to know the ancient Athens. Charis, the hostess, was super lovely and told us great things about the City's history. She also rescheduled her appointments for the day, so we could do the tour. We brought our little dog with us, which fitted perfectly. At the end of the hunt we got an amazing gift! We would do it again and hope to see more if Charis' private tours when we return to Athens.

We are a 40something couple, who did this tour and it was just us. SOO much fun!!! Learning a variety of things through the process and the 3hrs went by in a snap. Charis was our guide and she was Fantastic! Very personable and pleasant to be around, as well as encouraging when trying to solve the questions. If you enjoy the escape room concept and your in Athens, do this tour. You won't be disappointed.

This was such a great introduction to some of the key sights in Athens, but all done in an ingenious way that kept both my children and us parents completely absorbed. Charis is a gem and provided so much advice and information both in the run up to our trip, and since we completed the treasure hunt. I would highly recommend you book, particularly if you enjoy a bit of fun competition!

Our Acropolis Treasure Hunt was a great adventure! Charis was fun, knowledgeable and passionate about what she does. We learned things that I would have never learned any other way. This is a different kind of activity then we have ever done and it was well worth it. Charis was so good with our daughter and made it fun for her! I would recommend this for sure!

We had a fantastic experience with Charis who was fun, knowledgeable and engaging as she took us on an awesome exploration of parts of Athens we wouldn’t necessarily otherwise have seen. She also charmed and engaged two teens who are not always charmed and engaged these days!

The treasure hunt of acropolis, were an incredible and fun learning experience. We (my boyfriend and I) got to see many things surrounding the acropolis and learned a lot about the surrounding buildings. The host made sure that we understood the many clues in the treasure hunt.

My 2 daughters (16 + 13) have learned in these 3 hours many things in a very funny way, Charis was really like an old sister for them.

Completely different from any other tour we've ever had and much for the better. It was really engaging which meant that we retained much more of the information and had fun doing it. Charis was a brilliant guide and very kindly put up with our over competitiveness

This is a must do if you are in Athens with kids. This was our 2 son’s favorite activity in Greece. Charis made learning about the acropolis area into an adventure game for them. Our kids who loved it are 9 and 12. But we adults also had a blast. It was like an escape room had a baby with a Robert Langdon adventure novel.

What a fantastic and fun experience! Our family included a 9 year old and two teens, and everyone felt included and engaged. We had a group of 10, my favorite part was that she took the time to know everyone and was very patient with the kids. She made the game more exciting by being personable.

Solve riddles, do quizzes, compete against friends/family members and learn through an interactive way everything you need to know about the Acropolis and the surrounding area. Truly unforgettable! Charis was an excellent guide who managed to engage both older members and children on a tour/game the like of which cannot be easily found.

Charis and her husband have created such a fun and amazing game! My mom and I had a great time figuring out all of the clues and learning more about Athens at the same time. Charis was a knowledgeable and kind guide and also gave us some tips afterward to make sure we took advantage of our time here in Greece. If I could give her 100 stars I would!

Charis was the perfect guide and the treasure hunt was perfectly planned with fun games and riddles. We all learnt a lot of Athens and its ancient history. What a fantastic way to tour a city. The concept of including Escape room type challenges whilst touring and hearing about an area is just the best. Charis our guide was wonderful- knowledgeable, enthusiastic, friendly and fun. We enjoyed the challenges and learned so much whilst falling in love with Athens!

It ended up being only my boyfriend and I booked for this experience, so I was happy it did not get cancelled. Instead, Charis was like our own, personal tour guide while we walked around the Acropolis solving clues to find the "missing professor." The puzzles were fun and different than the usual escape rooms I have participated in. Some really stretched our minds. It was nice to use the outdoor surroundings and history Charis was teaching us to help solve everything. She was very informative- we learned much more than we would have than by just reading the placards at the various sites. Charis also ensured we had no questions before moving on- it was not a rushed experience. Afterward, she sent us a cool animated video that showed everything we viewed in the ruins as they may have looked back then, which was a great way to tie the history to real events. This was a fun way to spend a few hours of our morning. I highly recommend it!

great fun game!. we are non-english-speaking family, but we managed quite well. and where we didnt, charis helped us. we also learned a lot and had fun

We are a family of 4 including a 12 yr old and a 15 yr old. We all enjoyed Charis - both her company and her game. Charis was extremely kind to adapt the game to our needs. We made the mistake of scheduling the game immediately after a 3 hour tour in the summer Athenian heat. We started strong but had to finish the game in a cafe. Totally our fault but Charis still made it fun and engaging. I would recommend for sure.

This was just an excellent experience. My brother, my wife, and I were given this as a gift from our sister. We had an absolute blast! And our tour guide, she made it like a family trip.
