Philippia did a wonderful job on our city tour of Athens. Her enthusiasm for the subject was clear in her explanations and descriptions of architecture, gardens, anthropological, and history of Athens. The city tour was just the right amount of time.

Evie K was great guide. We explored the relics in the underground, saw the changing of the guard along with seeing the Acropolis. All in all, it was an excellent engaging few hours & I would recommend the trip.
This tour is great you get an overview of Athens Syntagma Square Neighborhood and Plaka,. The Acropolis and Museum portion of the tour was very thorough and entertaining. Andrea is a wonderful guide very knowledgeable and a delight to be with. This tour was worth it.
The guide knows a lot of history! Sonia was able to answer all of our questions. This really added to the enjoyment of the experience.
This was one of the best tour experiences I’ve ever had, and Rina is the reason why. Over nearly 5 packed hours, she delivered an overwhelming amount of history and mythology in the best possible way. She’s enthusiastic, welcoming, and visibly passionate about her subject in a way that elevates the entire experience. Despite the crowds, she handled a mid-sized group with ease, took questions constantly, and never lost her energy or focus. The mythology and history of each structure came alive in a way no guidebook could replicate. Five stars without hesitation.
We stayed a couple days in Athens before getting on our Cruise and this was a do-not -miss tour that ran in a couple different segments. We started with our first guide in the old town, saw ruins in the Metro station, Changing of the Guards, the Queens Gardens, with an excellent young woman tour guide who is a native to Athens. We were very impressed with her vast knowledge of the history of Athens and the development of world history. After a nice coffee/frozen yogurt break we then met up with our second guide Sophia (also native to Athens) and were given a crash course on the Acropolis. Sophia delighted with her tales of the birth of modern medicine (Hippocrates), modern theater (the Thespians), and the birth of modern democracy, citizenship and community involvement/enjoyment/wine (Dionysus). The views and structures were amazing to see. The climb is moderate (be advised) but very worth it. We left with an increased appreciation for what the ancient Athenians contributed to the development of our world culture. Due to jet lag we had to cut short the last portion of the tour (the Acropolis Museum) but this is worth seeing if you have the stamina.
After using my $30 sign up credit, this tour cost me $1. Best $1 ever. I took the city tour followed by the Acropolis with the Acropolis museum, all guided. This is the best way to familiarize with the civic area and visit the Acropolis. Cheapest with the best tour guides. We did skip the lines. (Summertime may be different) If you are on a cruise, take a taxi or the metro to the meeting point and don't waste money on an expensive excursion.
Andrea was a superb guide! She knew so much about every aspect of our trip, from the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier to the Acropolis to the Acropolis Museum. She told many funny stories and was able to make the ancients come alive with her explanations and stories. I would recommend her service to anyone!
We did the 6-hour the Athens city tour, Acropolis& Acropolis Museum tour -- a full day, but totally engaging. Our guide, Apollon, was fantastic: knowledgeable, in love with his city and its history and eager to share it. He was a great storyteller, and with his stories made history and ancient people come alive. He was full of little known facts on word derivations, scientific abilities of the times, etc. He was also closely attentive to the needs and interests of his group: including children in his stories, alert to the needs of older tourists or those who might need extra help, without making them feel he was inconveniencing either him or the rest of the group. I highly recommend Apollo and Athens Walking Tours, and we would be delighted to take another tour with Apillon.
We did the walking tour that included early entry at the Acropolis, the museum and lunch with a walk around Plakka and nearby areas. Anna was our guide and she was excellent. She had so much knowledge and led us to the pertinent things to look at. As a local, she had so much perspective. I would have never got as much out of the day on my own.
We had 2 tour guides and both were incredible!! Ask for Yota & Annie if taking this tour. You will not forget it!
A lovely way to see the city and learn the endless history present! Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. We only wish we had more time on top of the acropolis to wander and admire the views before continuing on to the museum.
Overall, very good. However, the first portion of the tour was mediocre, at best, which was a "tour" through the subway station with a rapid fire narrative with an assortment of random facts without context or story, followed by a walk through a park with similar disjointed narrative. The tour of the Acropolis and museum was excellent with an engaging guide. Suggest only the Acropolis and museum tour.
It’s hot. Have a hat and sunscreen and water. Fantastic day. Do the entire tour with the guide including buying and getting a tour of the museum.
The start of the starts at the bottom of escalator of the Metra station. If you use Google maps it takes you above the station. Once I figured that out and stopped being frustrated it was very pleasant. Lol! We were in a group of about 12 people and they issued us ear pieces to hear the guide as she talked and explained everything. The tour guide was very knowledgeable of Athens long history and we enjoyed the walk through all the places. After a couple hours we took a break and we went with another guide to tour the acropolis some stayed with the our original guide. The second guide was also nice and knowledgeable. It was harder to hear her on the ear piece. It kept sounding scratchy and when she turned her head away from the microphone I could barely hear her. We had skip the line access to the Acropolis which I thought was a must as seeing the line long like an amusement park ride. But speaking with other people later on I discovered they allow so many people an hour. So once that hour comes they almost get everyone through. At top of the Acropolis seeing the Parthenon and old sights were amazing. It was very windy at the top. The tour was definitely worth it.
Our tour guide Apollon was very informative & energetic. It was a very informative & pleasurable experience.
This experience is like three tours in one! We had a fantastic day with a very knowledgable guide. The first part was a walking tour through the city, then we met up with more people before heading up to the hill to the ruins and ended our day with a tour of the Acropolis museum (which was only the two of us with our guide). I highly recommend going to the museum to get a better understanding of what you see at the ruins site. Tina walked us through the museum and did an excellent job of making the connections between what we had just seen throughout the ruins and the museum exhibits. We greatly appreciated that we were not rushed and that our guide spent extra time with us to make sure we saw everything. Tina's pride in her country, as well as, her love of history and mythology was evident throughout the entire day.
Amazing! Our guide Eva is one of the best guides ever ❤️ She is kind, patience, sweet and always smiling. We loved every second. She kept us interested for hours, waited for everyone and constantly made sure every participant was ok and happy with the tour. Thank you so much dearest Eva! Thanks to you our tour and visit were fantastic 🤗
The first hour and a half was pretty much standing in 3 different spots listening to the tour guide talk… but then we were only given a 20 minute break to grab a drink/bite to eat and go to the restroom. Then we spent the next 45 minutes sitting on a rock OUTSIDE the Aceopolis, listening to our tour guide talk about the Acropolis… And then my husband and I left the tour. WASTE of money.
Anna was our guide and we did the 4-hour tour starting at the Acropolis for 2 hours then going to the museum for the remaining time. We learn a lot about the Acropolis and a lot about Greek mythology.. I recommend the tour as well as specifically the tour guide Anna, she was funny, kept us engaged, and was able to quickly get us in and out of the crowded spaces.
See and hear about the sights in Athens from an expert guide! Our guide, Annie, shared her love, passion and knowledge of Athens while also asking questions and getting to learn about her tour group.
Excellent Guide! John was outstanding! Do this tour as early as possible or late afternoon. The midday sun is killer with all this walking. 7.5 miles
It was a great way to see the Parthenon and other important parts of Ancient Athens. Panos, our guide, was very entertaining and well informed and was very careful in guiding us across any busy main roads. He even made a change to the route to accommodate a lady in her 80s.
Very informative, wonderful guide. Would highly recommend this to others. There were some pretty intense climbing and not enough railings for those with bad joints.
My wife and I had a great time! They were at the starting point early which made it easy to find them. Maria was very knowledgeable, kind, and was an amazing guide!
Wonderful overview of the Acropolis. Tour guide Vassalikki was knowledgeable and made the experience a highlight of our time in Athens.
Oleysa was an absolute delight! She is so smart and caring. This is an alllll day activity with lots of walking, climbing, sunshine and learning. It is not an easy day. Be sure to wear sneakers because you are in stones and pebble with slippery footing. We learned so much history of the empires from a very smart Oleysa. We recommend but know that it is not super easy.
Sissy …or maybe I should say ‘Dr Sissy’ PhD Archeology was our tour guide. It is always so much more fun when your guide has ‘attitude’ and Sissy was also charming, informative and very witty. This was a stand out tour from our perspective touching on many complex mythological and historical issues just enough to make what you are seeing come to life and yet stimulating you to read more about it. Thank you.
Incredible amount of knowledge shown by our guide like we had our own professor leading us! Would absolutely recommend.
The guide, Vasilliki was wonderful. So full of knowledge, she made sure that the visit was worthwhile for even those who did not read much about the Greek mythology. A must-do tour when you are in Athens!
Tour guides were extremely knowledgeable. Enjoyed the changing of the guards as well as the Acropolis and the museum.
Excellent walking tour of multiple historic sites. Guide Hermes gave outstanding perspective in his descriptions. Well worth the time.
We are so lucky to have booked this wonderful this Golden Hour Acropolis Tour in the Afternoon Light! Let me start by saying that the organization from start to finish was great! We met at Fresko Yogurt Bar to receive our audio headset and get our Acropolis entrance tickets. Our guide Eva was amazing. She was extremely knowledgeable and provided us with a wonderful history of everything we covered in a way that was interesting and engaging. Our group ranged from very young to seniors, including myself and she was extremely patient and kind, making sure to include all of us.
This was an amazing tour and our guide was very knowledgeable about Greece and its ancient history. The only thing i would recommend to change would be to speak more while walking and limit the amount of time we stand and listen for.
Cici was a great tour guide. She was full of knowledge and you could tell she really likes her job! We enjoyed the tour!! Thanks
I just loved how knowledgeable our guide was. Lots of information and she was so easy to understand. She took her time and was not in a hurry.
The Acropolis was amazing! Our tour lady (Alexandria?) was excellent! Recommend this tour if in Athens!
The tour was fantastic and our tour guide was so informative and educational. We so appreciated her. The rest periods with educational opportunities where fantastic. I highly recommend you as a tour
We did the full day Acropolis & city tour. Our guide Tina was very informative, knowledgeable & friendly. Thank you.
What an incredible walking tour for our family of five. Gabriela managed to hit all the major sites at a pace that was absolutely perfect over 6hrs with very sensible breaks. Her knowledge was simply exceptional - to keep all our kids interested and us adults fascinated throughout was amazing - thank you!
The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and pointed out many details that we would have otherwise overlooked. We really enjoyed the tour of the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum. It's definitely worth your time to have someone who knows what they're doing show you around.
The actual walk was only ok. The second part- the acropolis and the museum were excellent. The history and stories - actually mythology behind the sites is fascinating and our second guide was well versed.
Awesome full day walking tour of Athens highlights! The Viator description doesn’t fairly represent all the different sites (gardens, Olympic stadium, hadrians arch just to name a few) that are visited before the Acropolis and museum. Guide Olysia was just the best. Close to 6 hours including quick lunch break and we walked more than five miles in all. Definitely worth the money!
Vickie our guide was so knowledgeable and we got to see all of the important sites of Athens! Absolutely loved it!!
One of the best tour guides I’ve experienced on a historical tour. So much knowledge! Great overview of the history of Athens and its key sites.
At the Acropolis, our guide did a wonderful job of not only explaining historical and architectural aspects of the Acropolis and Parthenon but, because it was a very hot day and there were many steps to climb, she arranged her tour so that we would take a flight or 2 of steps and then step aside to rest a short bit and stand in the shade before proceeding to the next level. This was much appreciated by all the participants.
Long tour but allows you to know out all the must see stuff in Athens in one day. Margarita was an amazing tour guide!
Our tour guide Demetrius was wonderful. Very knowledgeable, very patient, and funny I would recommend him to everyone
Yohannes was excellent. Very knowledgeable and was thoughtful about giving us the best experience. The city is a treasure and filled with history that Yohannes introduced us to. Highly recommend a tour with him.
Our guide, Cici, (might be the wrong spelling) was great. Super knowledgeable. Also we were stuck in traffic getting to our meeting place and then got turned around but the guides found us.
