Terrible tour operator. Made the entire bus turn around to get a late couple after an hour of waiting / driving to the destination. We got off the bus rather than continue.

Enjoy a scenic drive along the coastal road, passing through some of Athens’ most picturesque suburbs, including Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, and Varkiza. Take in sweeping views of the Saronic Gulf as you head towards the southernmost tip of Attica.
Upon arrival at Cape Sounion, marvel at the towering cliffs and panoramic vistas of the Aegean Sea and nearby islands. Inside the archaeological site, explore the magnificent 5th-century BC Temple of Poseidon, dedicated to the mighty God of the Sea. Wander at your own pace among the well-preserved columns, a testament to the power and influence of the ancient Athenians.
The Temple of Poseidon, built in the 5th century BC, stands majestically on the cliffs of Cape Sounion overlooking the Aegean Sea. Dedicated to Poseidon, god of the sea, this ancient Doric temple once guided sailors safely home and remains a symbol of Athens' maritime power and devotion to the gods. Its impressive columns and dramatic setting make it one of Greece’s most iconic archaeological sites.

Our tour guide Katerina was very knowledgeable and the whole experience was worth it!
Tour guide Katerina was great and bus driver was great. The destination was beautiful. I would only recommend since we’re at that location we could be given time to explore the little town under the site for an hour.
You are basically just buying a bus ticket with this purchase, the bus doesn't make multiple stops but it's a bus there a bus back a little of knowledge from the guide on the bus but won't go up to the temple with you it's an hour and half there and an hour and a half back, 1 hour there. Super amazing temple, you do have to buy a 20e ticket. So just for transparency that's what you are buying
Beautiful ride up to Temple of Poseidon. Our guide Kat gave us interesting information on the ride up. The cost to go up to the temple was expensive for what it was but still interesting to see the temple and the views.
Bus tour was very good, but disappointing that you're not allowed to walk through the temple of Poseidon after paying 20 euros per person.
Kat was a great tour guide! Just be advised that you’re spending 3+ hours total in a bus (with amazing scenery) for 1 hr at a small site.
The travel there was good but the time to enjoy the sunset is too short. Arrived 6.30pm Sundown was 8.38pm and we had to be back in the car park for 8.45pm. 7 minutes to get from top of hill is insufficient if you want the sunset.
Great experience. Enjoyed the bus ride (large bus with lots of space to get comfortable). Guide was knowledgeable without being overbearing. Gave good info but also didn’t overtalk. The temple was amazing and an hour was a sufficient amount of time to spend walking around. Overall my wife and I found it relaxing and enjoyable.
It was a nice experience. The view of the Poseidon temple and the sunset was very beautiful and tour guide Katerina was very good.
Excellent view of Agean sea all around. Sit on the right side of the bus. Unfortunately the sunset could not be observed due to cloud civer
Great view of sunset and the temple, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and explained the ancient greek mythology related to the tour.
The tour was in time and the tour guide was very informative . When we got to Poseidon’s Temple , the views were amazing and the temple was Beautiful .
Wonderful experience. The staff at the tour operator were friendly and hospitable. The explained what was going to happen very clearly. The tour bus was clean and comfortable. The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable and spoke good English. He ensured everyone was accounted for at the different stops before departing. All in all great experience. Definitely recommend this tour operator.
Coach travel to the site, an hour there to look around and relax including the sunset and return trip. Easy travel, the guide was very knowledgeable and the site was worth the visit. I would recommend
A great afternoon. Nice ride down to the temple in a large air-conditioned coach. Our guide (Christina) pointed out the local sights and relevant history/mythology. The weather was perfect, the timing was great- we arrived before all the other tourists so had a relaxed walk around the temple area. I felt we had ample time to enjoy the temple area and surrounding sites too. The afternoon was completed with a pleasant bus rode back to Athens, watching the sun set on the way. Very well organised tour.
It is a long time in the bus to see the Temple. But if it is on your list of things to see, this is the way to do it. Very comfortable ride and the tour guide was excellent.
I loved the temple grounds, it was beautiful!! Great views from the top. We thought tickets to the temple were included, however, we had to pay an additional €25 each to actually go up to the temple site. It was very windy when we went August 2025. I mean so much so that we had to hold onto each other! It was well worth the long journey to get there from Athens. The site was amazing!
We did not have an archeologist as our guide and were given the bare minimum of information as we traveled to the Temple. Lots to see along the way but when a guest asked about circles in the water the answer was’fish’…… obviously they were fish farms but no explanation. We passed many beautiful beaches but no information about them was given. An hour to look at the Temple is too long without a guide. No idea where Lord Byron’s graffiti was. A beautiful place but a bit disappointing.
The Temple of Poseidon was truly a breathtaking site with its stunning views over the Aegean Sea and magnificent ancient ruins. However, our experience was somewhat disappointing as the tour company did not provide an expert archaeological guide as advertised. While the location itself is rich in history and beauty, we missed out on deeper insights and historical context that a professional guide could have offered. The tour felt rushed and lacked detailed explanations, leaving many questions unanswered. This incredible site deserves a knowledgeable guide to bring its stories to life. Overall, a beautiful place but poorly organized tour.
Expected more stops. Entrance ticket to Temple too high. View of coast very beautiful. Guide was knowledgeable.
This is one of the best way to spend 4hr and see the Temple of Poseidon. Our tour guy was fantastic, so knowledgeable and answered all questions. She provided so many interesting details along the bus ride and even within the temple. Plenty of time to have a look around.
Temple access would be difficult for those with trouble walking. Well worth it. Views were spectacular. Guide told great relevant stories.
Excellent. Loved Kari and the bus driver was excellent. It was incredible. Highly recommend! Would do it again.
The guide was shockingly uninteresting and uninterested. We literally had trouble staying awake as she talked through her prepared script. I don’t want to say bad things about her personally, but it kept the information from being able to be listened to.
The ruins of the temple quite impressive, but long distance from Athens, most of area not allowed to access, so only possible to walk around temple, look at other ruins and thats it
Do not book with this company. I booked an afternoon tour. The booking page said hotel pickup. My hotel was on the list! But they told me I needed to go to another hotel on the opposite side of the highway. They said 3pm pick up. Did not arrive until 3:20pm. The tour is advertised as a 4 hour tour. They dont tell you that 3 of those hours are spent on bus with hardly any commentary. Guide-did not tell us her name, was rude. Went to temple of posedion, but this name never was spoken by her. Had no idea what we were looking at. On the very long drive back to Athens no commentary whatsoever. Arrived 1 hour late. Tour guide had to collect her scooter from head office. She also fell asleep on drive back and then ate snacks Ike a pig after informing us of no food rule on bus. Screamed at me for not knowing which drop point I should get off! Absolutely hopeless This was apparently part of an all day tour. This section was just an add on. Waste of money.
This was a great trip! The pick up point was close to our hotel near the Acropolis Museum and easy to find. This was my first time in Greece. The bus was nice and comfortable and the guide was very knowledgeable. He talked most of the hr drive to describe what we were passing and the history. When we got to the site, he was very clear on meeting point and times. When we entered the site, he spoke for a little bit about the history of the area and temple, then left us to walk around and take our own pictures. It was a great experience. While we were still in Greece, I recommend the trip to a couple of people we meet there. When we got home, I also recommend it to our other family members who travel alot. The pictures we got are outstanding!
A tour to remember! The best way to discover the Cape Sounion and visit the Temple of Poseidon. We were picked up on time from the pick up point and enjoyed great views on the drive along the Athens Riviera. Our guide was really knowledgeable and friendly. She brought the history alive and provided us with many interesting stories and archeological details. This excursion was a great experience and I would definitely recommend it.
We booked this tour as a Sunset Tour at Temple of Poseidon, only to get there on the Sunday and find out they don’t do Sunset tours that one day of the week. Myself and my adult daughter went anyway, as we were keen to see the Temple and find out about its history. We had a ~90min bus ride there, so assumed our guide Anastasia would give us background as to the mythology of Poseidon, why the Temple was built etc. She was largely silent for most of the trip, aside from telling us the names of suburbs we passed through on the way and pointing out private beaches that only wealthy people could attend! When we arrived at the Temple, it was very impressive and we did get some info then from her as to the construction and importance of guarding the port into Athens. Disappointed we didn’t get more Greek history/mythology and no sunset, but the Temple was amazing.
Important: this is NOT a sunset tour! They changed the pick up to be almost an hour earlier (2pm) and when we arrived at the Temple we we’re given a 10 minute history talk before being told to be back on the bus in 45 mins, so the sunset happened whilst we were sitting in traffic on the outskirts of Athens. The tour guide was friendly and informative on the bus, but the tour was miss sold and I would recommend making sure you go at sunset.
We booked this excursion after having to cancel a similar one due to timing. Everything from start to finish was well-dine. Katerina was an excellent guide; she told us about the area as we were driving along the coast, as well as some history and stories of Ancient Greek mythology. She set reasonable time expectations as well, so that the group kept moving along as planned. Cape Sounion and the Temple of Zeus are not to be missed. Both are stunning and the history behind both is very interesting. Katerina told us about the building of the temple, about Poseidon, and some of the highlights from history. The drive along the “Greek Riviera” is just incredible, with gorgeous views at every turn. We were so glad we booked this trip. Our driver and guide were exceptional.
Great tour and guide. Just not long enough at the site. We would have also like to stop at the lake.
Great experience. Teddy was funny and informative the entire ride. Got to see the beach, a beautiful lake, and of course the Temple. Went as a solo traveller and had a great time with my group!
It was alright. I would give 3 and a half stars if I could. Great way to see some amazing scenery. You spend an hour on the site, which is plenty, as it's not a big site. The views there are amazing and the temple was interesting. But, I think it was a little expensive overall. Do it if you really want to see the temple, which is impressive. Otherwise, it's probably not worth it.
Tour was fantastic. Guide and driver were fantastic and knowledgeable. Trip was very organized and they even dropped guests off at or near their hotel.
Wonderful views both while driving and on place. Very comfortable buses, its are orange color. As it can be very windy up there it is advisable to bring some warmer clothes with you. The best time to visit is to get there for sunset. It is possible to join the group on the way after Athens. To do this you need to look at where are the bus stops elsewhere and and raise your hand to stop bus. Nearby is a beach for swimming. Check out or ask the return bus times.
Booked this tour on the recommendation of our hotel as we were in Athens for a week so they suggested a few things to do. Wanted to do the Cape sounion tour as it was somewhere we wanted to ee but knew it would be difficult to get there ourselves. They picked us up from our hotel and drove us for an hour and a half to the south of Athens where we could see the temple of Poseidon. Was a very beautiful site and somewhere we would not have experienced if it wasnt for this tour. They even dropped us off at our hotel again. The tour guide was very experienced and gave a lot of detailed information, very impressed
Exceptional experience! An outing to do again and again!
Pleasant bus ride with a very beautiful view. At the destination, unfortunately, there was not much to see except for the temple, for which an entrance fee was required if one wanted to visit it up close. We had only one stop instead of two as announced. Otherwise, everything was fine.
I booked this outing at the last minute. I specified a Spanish audio guide and a French. On arrival no audio guide either in the agency or in the coach. The guide spoke only English, she was very nice but I understood that one word out of two.
The trip was interesting but when we arrived there we didn't have much time to visit or even to dive. I recommend that there be a guide, or so, time for a diving in the ocean of Poseidon.
