The weather in Athens was rainy but once we left Athens it was no longer rainy. The driver was excellent and very accommodating. Walking at Poseidon has some uneven spots and could be difficult for some. I did see someone using a ramp that was accommodating for handicapped (not sure if it went all the way up). If it was wet I could see where it would be more difficult for some - we had no issues. If there is an offer to stop for dinner - absolutely say yes - it was fantastic and well worth it. It was not crowded when we visited on Monday, October 26, 2026. Strongly recommend this tour.

Our drive to the Temple of Poseidon was brilliant. We had a very comfortable car just for our group of 6. And our driver, George Remoundos, was helpful and knowledgeable. The drive along the riviera was stunning.... and watching the sunset over the aegean sea, though touristy was quite magical.
This was an amazing tour. Christos was an incredible driver and guide. He was very friendly and informative. Such a great tour to an area we otherwise wouldn’t have seen. The temple was absolutely amazing, and the sunset over the Aegean Sea was magical. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who has already visited the Acropolis. What a great way to end our honeymoon vacation.
Pablos is an excellent driver, extremely nice, and flexible. He took us to the Poseidon's Temple and then dropped us off at the beach. No time constraints, no problems at all. Nice car as well.
Christos our driver made our experience amazing. He was a wealth of Information and was so accommodating. He would stop for the best pictures and anything we would have wanted or needed. I would highly suggest this tour. A beautiful scenic drive and an amazing sunset.
Nikos was an exceptional driver and guide. Friendly and great with our kids. We had a wonderful trip and would recommend to anyone. If you’re looking to go at sunset, don’t book before 6. We were early, but then able to have dinner on the way home and see a beautiful sunset over the sea. It was perfect from start to finish!
Nikos was an incredible driver and guide. Such a great tour to an area we otherwise wouldn’t have seen. The temple was amazing, but we were too early for the sunset (left at 5). Instead, we stopped for a wonderful dinner at the recommendation of Nikos and saw the sunset over the water. It was absolutely amazing!
The drive is very long and the experience is short. You have to leave before dark and once you can no longer see the sun (which sets behind mountains). It is beautiful. This is essentially a car service. It makes a pit stop at a random lake to take pictures.
We had a wonderful evening with George, who provided a very enjoyable, comfortable and informative ride to the beautiful Temple of Poseidon as the sun was setting. George shared a lot of knowledge about the sites and Athens in general. As an Athens native he knows so much about the coast and beaches on the drive and helped prepare us about what to expect and do once we got there. We weren't hungry enough for dinner after, but George was kind enough to find a gelato place in a nearby town for us. This was our final night in Athens before returning back home and I can't think of a more beautiful thing to do in the evening, especially at the end of a trip! The roads along the coast are obviously winding and busy, so it was also great to be able to see the views without having to worry about driving, parking, etc.!
George was an exceptional guide. We felt like an old friend had met us to take us to the Temple of Poseidon. We had a lively intellectual conversation and he told us lots of information, history, and Greek mythology. He knew where to stop for the best photos and took great photos for us. We felt extremely pampered. This was an absolutely stunning and rewarding experience. Ευχαριστώ, George!
Christos was an excellent guide. He went out of his way to make sure we were having fun and that we didn’t feel rushed. When we were done at Poseidon Temple, he booked us a table at a local seafront restaurant where we had an amazing meal with a great view on the coast. I accidentally left my sunglasses in his vehicle and a day later he found them and actually brought them to my hotel. I highly recommend this experience!
If you’re debating whether to book a private tour to the Temple of Poseidon, stop debating and just do it — especially if you can get George as your driver. From the moment we set off, George made the experience feel personal rather than transactional. He was warm, genuinely kind-hearted, and had a natural gift for engaging with our pre-teen son in a way that kept him interested and excited the whole day. That alone is worth five stars. His knowledge of the area was impressive — he showed us the very best of Athens before we headed out to Cape Sounion, and the temple itself was every bit as breathtaking as we hoped. But the real surprise was a lake stop along the way that we never would have found on our own. A true hidden gem, and honestly one of the highlights of our entire trip. We’re already talking about going back. If you want a tour that feels tailored, unhurried, and full of authentic local insight, this is it. George, thank you — you made a wonderful day truly unforgettable.
Me and my wife did the sunset tour...it was amazing beautiful views and out tour guild was george he was wonderful and very knowledgeable the culture and history of Athens,he even took us to and wonderful restaurant, and he stopped for ice cream.if I could give george a 20 plus star rating I would if your planning a trip to Athens, the sunset tour is a must see.and ask for george
Such an amazing tour, Chris was absolutely hands-down, the best tour guide, not only did he take us to Poseidon, but he also stopped in several areas so we could get pictures along the way. Wouldn’t quite get to see the sunset because we felt like we’d been there long enough and we decided to go get something to eat and Chris suggested a wonderful sea food place…. definitely take his recommendation for the fish. It was simply amazing and I might add. I’m not even a fish eater, but this was the best fish I’ve ever had.(the catch of the day red snapper)
George was great. He told us a lot about the area and also suggested places to eat dinner. Amazing view.
An incredible sunset tour! George was fabulous—friendly, engaging, and made the whole experience feel effortless. The views were absolutely stunning and truly unforgettable. Highly recommend!
Our tour guide .Niko, was very knowledgeable, accommodating and personable. The scenery from Athens to the Temple of Poseidon was beautiful and the vehicle was a comfortable ride for a party of six. Niko took us to a wonderful seafood restaurant with authentic Greek cuisine. It was an extremely enjoyable adventure.
Really enjoyed our trip with George! He shared a lot of interesting details about the temple and other areas we were passing and was willing to chat about life in Greece. He was a safe driver and had a very clean car. The temple at sunset was beautiful!
George shared a lot of interesting historical details and info about life in Athens and was a safe driver. The temple at sunset was beautiful. Highly recommend this trip!
What an awesome trip we had with Nikos.Full of information and energetic.
Beautiful drive along the scenic coastline! Our tour guide Nikos was friendly, gave us great insights, and got us there and back safely.
George is an excellent travel guide! He arrived on time in his clean, comfortable automobile, and drove us along the Greek coastline known as the Greek Riviera to the southern tip of Sunion, Temple of Poseidon. He was pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable. This experience was well worth it and we recommend it to all travelers.
Beautiful scenery. Very pleasant and informative guide (George Remoundos). Highly recommended as a day trip from Athens.
Our driver, Thanasis was a gem. Probably the best tour guide my wife and I have ever had in our 43 years of traveling together. Knowledgable, attentive, and kind. My wife left her phone in the car and he drove back, in heavy traffic, to our hotel. He declined an extra tip and said “ it was part of his service”.
We enjoyed the transfer with a private driver from Athens to the Temple of Poseidon. The scenic route was beautiful. Nico was our driver and he was great! We also stopped for dinner with fresh seafood after visiting the temple and it was great.
Leisurely drive down the coast, lots of information along the way. Appropriate amount of time at the Temple with time to enjoy a drink at the cafe. On the way home, stopped at a beachfront seafood rustic restaurant for fabulous grilled fresh snapper. Overall a wonderful experience!
Niko is a delightful young man. He is knowledgeable, interesting, patient and made an outstanding recommendation for dinner when we were on our way back to Athens. His van is comfortable and he's a great driver. Our party of 7 all highly recommend him.
The views of the Temple of Poseidon in the sunset are simply spectacular and Alex was great in insuring we got tickets before the arrival of the tour buses and that my wife got in a restroom stop. But what the tour description didn’t say is that we continue to have very nice views of the sunset afterward along a road that runs along the .water. The stop at a lake on the way to the temple made a nice break and a chance to stretch our legs. We opted to buy ourselves a late dinner at a restaurant on the water in the fishing village that was recommended by our driver and has a nice sea bream - with waiter intruding us to the fish before it was cooked.
Alex was the best! Picked us up outside our hotel and was so knowledgeable about everything. We stopped at the geothermal lake, like others mentioned, but it was closed for a private event. The temple and coastal view were AMAZING! It was so worth the trip since we didn't have time on this visit to get to any islands. It gave us an insight into how beautiful Greece is. Didn't stay for sunset, because 3 tour busses showed up...too crowded. Instead we saw the sunset from the fish restaurant on the way home. Sea Bream - the best we had the whole trip, and a Greek salad. We enjoyed our conversation with Alex so much.
Visiting the Temple of Poseidon was well worth thr trip. The drive to the Temple is scenic and gives great views of the coast. We enjoyed seeing what is left of the temple and walking through the ruins of houses near the temple. We arrived in the morning just after the archaeological site opened and had the place to ourselves! I also highly recommend this tour company! We had a great time with Nikos! He shared interesting information about the places we drove through and the site itself. He made sure we all had a great time (which isn't always easy to do with teenage kids). We would happily go on a tour with him again!
If you are looking for a company who can make your last day in Athens really special, pick you up from your accommodation or cruise, provide transport for a superb private tour, including the Temple of Poseidon and a wonderful, chilling beach bar, then drop you at the airport - Then look no further!! We also thought that Alex, our driver was brilliant! - Really knowledgeable and informative and super helpful! A lovely last day in Athens.
Our driver, George, was incredible and so informative. He came on time and we had a great time. Cape Sunion was gorgeous. The whole trip was a highlight of our Greek odyssey. .
Alex was very informative and friendly throughout the tour, the sites and views along the way were wonderful and his knowledge and insights into the history behind things was great to learn about.
Excellent! Great tour and knowledgeable guide. Definitely worth the money for a small group tour that picks you up and drops you off at your hotel. The Temple of Poisedon is amazing. Also included a stop at a nice beach side restaurant with fresh seafood (at your expense). The Temple of Poseidon is an ancient Greek temple on Cape Sounion, Greece, dedicated to the god Poseidon. There is evidence of the establishment of sanctuaries on the cape from as early as the 11th century BC. Sounion's most prominent temples, the Temple of Athena and the Temple of Poseidon.
Alex, our guide was amazing, he went above and beyond our expectations which were already high, he made a couple of stops for us to see some beautiful sights and explained the history behind, he made a stop just for the purpose of taking a picture of the Temple of Poseidon from a very unique location, after we left that location he offered to take us somewhere else and have up options and finally took us to Mount Lycanetus, the highest point of Athens, the view from the top is mesmerizing, on our way back to the hotel he recommended son restaurants, we had dinner at one of them and as expected it was very good, what’s more it was excellent… he was very professional and you can tell he is very knowledgeable and gives you the information needed. I would highly recommend this tour and specially Alex, we will definitely contact him when we need any tours again!!!
We had a great time with George Remoundos. He drove us around showed us areas took us for coffee and gelato. The Temple of Poseidon was amazing. Please note we got there right in time but they wouldn’t take credit cards at that time. We barely made the cutoff and enjoyed some amazing views. Afterwards we had some dinner at a recommendation from George and it was great. We started our tour at 5pm and it seems like the perfect time to go. For the price and what we got we really enjoyed this tour
George was our tour guide for this private sunset tour and he was great! He shared highlights of our destination, Cape Sounio and the Posiden Temple and enroute we stopped at Lake Vouliagmeni. The ride was lovely and relaxing as we skirted along the coast. After our visit to Posiden’s Temple, George took us to a wonderful fresh fish restaurant where we indulged in a meal of fresh sea bream, calamari, bread and a Greek Salad. The view was breathtaking as we viewed the last part of sunset.
Our tour guide was wonderful. He was very informative about giving us info about where we were going and answered our many questions about Greece. He’s very friendly and we felt comfortable with him.
We informed our driver, George Remoundos, what we would like to do for the day. George created the perfect itinerary based on our interests. The best coastal views outside of Athens, the best stops at a cafe and a restaurant. George even researched the best place to buy specialty items that I was looking for and took me to the perfect store. My family enjoyed every minute of our tour and George made all of this possible.
My daughter and I had a great experience. It was informative and relaxing. We flew in that morning and were able to decompress and relax on our way out to the Temple Poseidon.
We enjoyed our tour to the Temple of Poseidon and Cape Sounio with Alex. We saw some beautiful sights. It was a very windy day. He stopped and let us watch the wind surfers on the way back. He was very accommodating. We were picked up in the morning at our hotel, we did the tour of Cape Sounio, then he took us to our Cruise Ship. It made for a perfect start to our Vacation.
Our Driver was very good and we enjoyed the ride down the coast to Poseidons Temple. He picked us up at our Hotel, took us on a tour then too us to our Cruise Ship.
The drive was lovely and the temple was stunning!!! Great trip!! Awesome scenery Nikos was knowledgeable and very helpful
Nikos was incredible! He took us on a beautiful drive up the coastline on our way to the Temple of Poseidon! It was a beautiful view and we truly enjoyed it! We got to see the sunset across from the temple! He also gave us the option to stop for dinner on the way back. We truly enjoyed it and he gave us all kinds of information!
My wife and I chose this tour as something we wanted to but missed last trip. We had a wonderful evening with Alex. The car was comfortable, the conversation informative and timing and timing perfect. Afterwards we enjoyed a wonderful dinner together at a fish restaurant along the ocean. It was a perfect evening.
Epic location, definitely worth visiting if you’re already in the area. It’s beautiful, but not as impressive as the Acropolis in Athens
Great your. Such an amazing, beautiful place. Absolutely worth seeing. Our driver Nikolos was amazing. Super knowledgable and very patient.
We were picked up at the Piraeus port and driven in a van to Sounio and the Temple of Poseidon. We also stopped at a beautiful hot springs resort for the view. Our driver was courteous and very professional. He told us about the area as he drove us out to the point. He waited while we had a leisurely walking tour around the temple and then drove us to our airport hotel. He even gave us restaurant recommendations in the area. It was an excellent tour as well as transfer from our ship to our hotel. There was plenty of room for our luggage in the van.
Alex was our tour driver and he called more than 15 mins early to make sure we were ready. He picked us up from the hotel and had complementary water for us. He assisted us into the car and our every time we had a stop. Alex was very knowledgeable about Athens and I honestly learned some history that I never thought I would. He gave us a brief summary of Temple of Poseidon before we arrived. We got to witness Alex being in awe seeing a Pelican for the first time haha. The views and the Temple were beyond beautiful! I would highly recommend this tour. At the end of our tour, he dropped us off back at our preferred location.
Great experience with Panos at Sounio. We booked it very lately but everything was perfect. Maybe a little bit expensive but you definitely get the quality you paid for. Would do it again ! Thanks Panos !
