The best thing to do is to do the tour early morning as you walk up to the top then listen to the guide during the walk down. She was professional, intelligent, and humorous . Her name is Niobe and she’s a GEM.
Booked a private mythology tour of the Acropolis for my friend and I. Vicki was amazing! She explained in detail every site we saw on the Acropolis and even took us to some nearby sites as well. She was extremely friendly and informative and took a bunch of pictures of us without question! She even let me keep her Athens fan as a souvenir :)
The beginning of the tour was fantastic, learning about ancient Greek democratic practices, philosophy and Socrates. But by the time we got up to the Acropolis, it was packed with people and the tour resembled the crowd - jumbled, overloaded, hard to follow. It felt more like a data dump. She could have reduced content by half, and focused more on story-telling, particularly for kids. But, she was super knowledgable, patient and funny. I would really recommend going to the Acropolis Museum before climbing up there, to give you a sense of what the place looked like.
Aigli is a kind and knowledgeable guide. I learned so much on tour with her. I would recommend this tour.
Gregori, our guide, is a very knowledgeable historian of Greek history. We enjoyed his clear and informative explanations of the Acropolis and the Parthenon. He also enjoyed and encouraged our questions about Greek history. All in all a great experience.
Great informative tour. Set off early to avoid the crowds. Well worth the money. Tour guide helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.
Stella covered everything in great detail and was able to answer any questions. She made what could have been a pile of rocks and ruins come to life.
Our guide Ioanna made a very interesting tour. Her knowledge was unique. The whole family was satisfied!
Great walking tour, very informative & interesting, thank you Sissy. You probably need to allow another hour at least once the tour finishes, to have a good walk around the Acropolis & take photos. Sissy was great because she stopped & explained things on the way up meaning a bit of a rest & shade! 100% worth it
Sign up for this tour- Our guide Kate was the best!! She is so knowledgeable and took the time for a deep dive into the rich history of the Acropolis and made us feel so welcome ! This Private Tour is SO worth the price and you receive so much more information than on the group tours. Again, kudos to Kate!
Our tour guide, Kimon, gave a great walking tour to the Acropolis. He is very personable and knowledgeable and made the tour fun. Highly recommend.
Get your guide changed the time and location of our tour which was a bit frustrating because it caused us to be late for the tour. However, we called the help line and they connected with our guide immediately to make a back up plan. We missed the first part of the tour which was disappointing, but our tour guide was wonderful and phoned us to make sure we connected. Eli was a fantastic tourguide. She was very knowledgeable and had many interesting facts about the acropolis. She was also very good at engaging the audience. She happily stated after the tour to tell us about what we missed and make recommendations for what we should see next. Thank you so much, Eli!
We took a wonderful walking tour with Despina Savvidou! Very knowledgeable and very personable! She made sure we were well-informed and that he had a thorough tour of the Acropolis. Her sense of humor was also very enjoyable.
We had a private group tour of the Acropolis with Fotini and it was a wonderful experience. I am Greek and have been to the Acropolis more times than I can count but I learned SO much on this tour! Our tour guide Fotini was so passionate about the stories and history which made for a very enjoyable experience. It was never mundane and I was holding on to every word. A great tour for Greeks and non-Greeks alike!
Go early and explore the Acropolis! Nicoleta was a wonderful guide, providing insight and great story telling that made the history come alive. Tough day for her with the Athens fires, but she was very kind and made sure we were able to keep up and stay engaged. The combined Acropolis and Museum tour really rounded out the experience. She was also terrific navigating the crowds so we never felt like we were swimming against the horde. Highly recommend the experience—all confirmed by email with easy check in. As a final stop on our Athens stay, it steeped our visit with history and gave us a deep understanding of this truly ancient city.
We loved our friendly guide Chalrula ( excuse my spelling) we came in the early morning with two little children and she made it as pleasant, fun and understandable for everyone.
Stellios was passionate and shared his detailed and expert knowledge with the group. Sign up, meet up, arrival and use of the guide technology was really well organised and strongly supported.
The private walking tour of Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum was an excellent experience. The guide spoke perfect English and presented the historical facts and explained the architecture of Acropolis along with the legends and mythology of the place in a very pleasant and captivating manner. We loved it!
Our family of 9 joined a walking tour led by Eli. The meeting place outside a yogurt shop was unorganized by the company. As we were assigned into different groups, ours was too large so they asked for volunteers to leave to another group. Our guide Eli was very nice and knowledgeable for what parts we could hear! She had a soft voice, and her English enunciation was not clear. To understand her, you had to stand directly in front of her to listen intently and with 20 people on our tour, plus surrounding noise from other tourists , 90% of the time we never heard a word she said! If they would have given us headsets all could have been perfect! Cheap excuse not to do that! Don’t use this tour unless they give you a headset, or you won’t hear much. We saw other groups with them. Pretty much ruined our tour not to hear & understand the guide!!
This was a fantastic tour. Maria was an excellent tour guide and told us everything we needed to know. Great English, great knowledge, and great demeanor. She was fantastic. I would recommend this tour while heartedly.
My husband, daughter, niece and I aren’t huge history buffs so we thought a private tour would be the best. And oh boy are we glad we did! Katrina was our guide and made our experience amazing. She was very knowledgeable and even more interesting. We certainly could tell she loved her job and was her passion. Thank you for a memorable experience!
We did a private walking tour of the Acropolis and the guide was really excellent, particularly with our teenage boys
Hands down, the 3.5 hour walking tour of the Acropolis+ was the best guided tour I’ve ever had the pleasure of participating in. Our guide Joanna wasn’t simply knowledgable, she was engaged, curious, clearly passionate about the topic, funny and dry. Joanna brought Ancient Greece to life through her ability to weave history together and point out things the naked eye (or the average layperson) would never see/know. Her many years as a teacher and world traveler make her a truly superb guide/educator. The time (sadly) flew by. Thank you Joanna for your enthusiasm and patience and your joy for sharing with others. Book this tour, make sure you’re with Joanna and enjoy. You won’t regret it.
