We had a great time walking 3 districts of Athens and sampling food. Simos our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and maintained a good pace where we never felt rushed. And the food? There was plenty.!!A great way to get a feel of Athens and experience their culture.

Good value for money and a wonderful experience.
Good tour around Athens touching all the major points of Greek food. Laura was excellent and explained the history around all the different foods, which have a mixture of heritages, both domestic and international
Had an amazing time with Nikos on the Food Tour of Athens after just landing into Athens from USA. Tired as we were, my husband and I rallied, and Nikos was entertaining, informative, and welcoming. Shared so much helpful information about the country and the city---even provided recommendations for the rest of our stay. A very intimate and relaxed tour, complete with olive tasting, delicious foods from all parts of the plaka. HIghly recommend!!!
This was an amazing experience and our guide, Nikos, made it the best. He was informative, thoughtful, insightful, and energetic. We sampled some of the very best culinary classics in Athens and learned so much about the historical context that makes Greek food so amazing. Thank you Nikos!
My wife and I spent three fantastic hours walking around the core of Athens and sampling all kinds of delicious foods. Simos was our guide, and he was friendly, knowledgable and gave us the background and time to enjoy everything we sampled. We highly recommend this tour and Simos.
This is a must-do tour. Our guide, Simos, brilliantly blended history, culture and food through visits to several local restaurants. We sampled olive oils, sweet treats and traditional Greek dishes. The walk through the meat, fish and produce market was eye-opening! You won’t go away hungry!
My wife met our guide Klelia conveniently at our hotel and started our tour. Klelia was very knowledgeable about the history and geography of Athens and was able to give us a great introduction to the area and some history that we really enjoyed learning about. We also learned about the local artists and some of the graffiti in the area. The first stop was a traditional Baklava shop where we tasted some Baklava….it was delicious. We then went to taste some traditional Greek coffee and learned about some of the antique equipment and techniques used to make it. We then had some more sweets…Loukamadas in a honey and nut sauce. We then had souvlaki in a pita with the works! The next stop was a bakery that had another sweet treat! The last stop was at a restaurant in the flea market that did not disappoint with a variety of local tastings! The tour was informative, fun and filling! We even had to take a doggy bag because we couldn’t finish all the food.
I can not recommend this tour enough! Elissavet was absolutely lovely, engaging, and full of knowledge. And the FOOD! Oh my gosh, we were fed so much food by Elissavet and explained how they were made and the history behind all of it. Elissavet engaged with our daughters so well and was so sweet to all of us. I highly recommend this tour with Elissavet.
The tour was informative, fun and a great way to sample and learn about food and its role in bringing people together. Our guide was brilliant and we enjoyed it immensely. It was very family friendly as the kids enjoyed it just was much. Thank you! Would highly recommend.
The guide was fantastic and food even better. Our guide looked out for everyone in our group taking into account food preferences and allergies. He was knowledgeable and fun. Highly recommend this activity!
Amazing way to explore the foods of Athens (and Greece). With a very knowledgeable food guide, we stopped at about 10 - 12 of the "best" examples of the various foods. We were given insights as to the role the various foods had in Athens' history and culture.
Andreas was an amazing guide. Very informative and helpful. He was very kind and welcoming. Highly recommend! Book your tour today!
Our first full day in Athens. We had no food in our apartment and didn't know our way around. We thought the downtown food tour would orient us and provide a good start on wonderful Greek food. The tour did not disappoint. Joseph, the guide, was extremely pleasant and informative. All the food was delish. We saw several sights, and fooderies, that on now on the revisit list. Highly recommended.
The tour was not what I call a real food tour. The samples were of items that the average person has access to. For the price we received a small meat pie, a giro, scoop of ice cream and an olive oil sampling that was OK. The brief of the tour says it is a .5 mile walk but we ended up walking almost 5 miles. The guide was pleasant but for the price it was not worth it.
Our tour did not match the description. It was a pleasant evening, but we made four stops—for baklava, for moussaka and pies, for gyros, and for Greek donuts. No cheese, olive oil, market stops. It would have been nice to have smaller portions as there was way too much food.
We especially enjoyed the meat. seafood and vegetable markets but the souvlaki was the best we have ever had. Elizabeth was wonderful as our guide and we highly recommend. We would never have found some of the hidden gems she showed us on our own.
Elizabeth was great and so informative and personal. Gave us the local food places. Tour was awesome in connecting us for the meeting place.
We had an absolutely wonderful time on our food tour of Athens. We were a mixed group of two adults, a senior, and 4 older teenagers. All had fun. Our guide, Mary-Kate, was delightful. She was helpful and so knowledgeable. We were not only introduced to the foods of Greece, but learned about the history of Athens and Greece. The individual tastings were fascinating, from an expansive olive oil tasting, to a coffee experience, to a lunch of traditional home cooked Greek food in a restaurant inside the city’s central market. Go hungry and pace yourself - so much food! Be prepared to do some walking. We covered almost 3 miles. Plenty of stops to sit and rest while you taste, but you’ll be lugging some bags with the goodies you’ll inevitably purchase along the way.😊
Andreas was our guide for the morning tour. Wow pretty much sums it up. He was not only great about the food that he chose for us to taste, his historical stories really made the tour special. He took great care of us and we ate and saw places we did not know were here in Athens. Made our trip here even better. Highly recommend. If you love food and have a couple hours to spare during your visit go and do this tour!
Great experience with Josephine ! 3h30 of fun and discovery ! Josephine is a great guide, she mixes history, city visit with so many anecdotes and food tasting of course. We had fun, people she made us meet were very nice and that was so good. Thanks a lot again Josephine and if we come back to Athens we'll plan an other tour with you. Delphine and Matthieu
Best tour in Athens! Andreas was a great tour guide. There is a lot of food, and it's all delicious.
Maria-Katerina was a fantastic guide introducing us to delicious food and drinks of Athens. She took us to many beautiful food venues as well as providing us with lots of really interesting information. We’d highly recommend this tour!
We had an excellent guide - Andreas - who gave us an amazing tour of coffee, olive oil, baklava, soulvlaki, markets (meat, fish and veggie), small plates at a taverna and a couple of different desserts. Definitely bring a good appetite. Would highly recommend to others. Note we had a group of 11 and it included 2 vegetarians.
Elena was an absolute gem! We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Perfect amount of history and geography with the food. She was so knowledgeable and kind!
Elisabeth was our wonderful guide for the the walking food tour. Our group of 3 and 2 other ladies were treated to a superb tour of amazing shops bars and tavernas in hidden away places. We all agreed it was one of the highlights of our trip. It was all the more special because of Elizabeth’s knowledge of all things Greek, her humour and patience and genuine desire to ensure we were enjoying the tour. Thankyou!
The guide was excellent. Really liked her and she was very informative. The food tastings, however, were too heavily weighted to the sweets. Would have liked to taste and hear more about some cheeses, unusual breakfast sandwiches, etc
Great tour i would recommend to start your visit in the city with this one as it is also a cultural centre city tour. Antigone, our guide, id passionate, friendly and very knowledgeable. Our Kids ranging 9 to 16 really loved it.
Really enjoyable tour, great guide in Nikki, tried some really good food and saw parts of Athens we wouldn’t have found on our own.
Antigoni was an exceptional tour guide and although our tour was focused on food this would be a great tour for a first day in Athens to get a feel for the city streets and more recent history. Everything was well paced we saw much more than we dreamed. I would return to many of the locations again as it is very dynamic Loved the meat and seafood market also the 2 small tavernas we visited. Having a guide to share experiences and history makes all the difference. Ask for Antigoni you won’t be disappointed
Andreas is the best tour guide ever , we loved this tour . We did a total of 5 tours in Greece and this was our favorite . Our tour guide Andreas explained everything so well and his connection and explanation that he gave was really good . We had so much to eat that towards the end we couldn’t finish our souvlaki. Which tasted soooooo good . When you do this tour and you must !! Do ask for Andreas . He is a real down to earth guy , professional and to the point . It was completely above our expectation. Also he emailed us recipes which i can’t wait to use .
Dear Andreas ! We enjoyed so much having you as our tour guide today !! You have so much knowledge to share -so it was not just tasty but extremly intersting and pleasent walking around with you. Our whole family had a great time, even the youngest one who needed translation😊 we definitely recommend the tour ! Thanks again🌼
We had the best time with Antigoni! The tour was so fun, interesting, we learned a lot of new things, and yummy of course! Highly recommend it, you can get to see the city in a different point of view, and also eat a lot Greek traditional foods. We’ll be back for sure!
We did the tour with 3 teenager children. Andreas our guide was very knowledgeable and nice. We learned a lot about Greek history, mentality and the development of the city. Food was good. He managed to interest not only us but also the teenagers. Highly recommended.
What an awesome experience. Andreas our tour guide was impressive from beginning to end. The food was tasty, fresh and so delicious. The tour was informative and educational, Andreas did an excellent job of guiding us through the streets of Athens. His knowledge of Athens, its history, culture and people -- and how it all influenced the food in modern Athens was impressive and informative. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Athens.
We had the most wonderful time on our food tour of Athens. It was awesome to be shown the different types of Greek foods and where to find them while enjoying the company of our tour guide. Maria was absolutely amazing and her lovely personality really made the experience stellar. I would certainly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn more about the food and culture of Greece while also learning their way around Athens.
I loved every minute of the food tour! What a lovely way to visit Athens! Maria our tour guide was amazing, and gave us just the right amount of details on the history of the neighbourhoods of Athens, as well as telling us about all the different foods we ate. What we ate was delicious and walking around made it easier to waste the delicious calories we ate! Highly recommended!!
Great way to get to know Greel food as well as several neighborhoods and the markets. Young and knowledgeable guide.
Maria did a great job introducing the Greek food and cuisine. We enjoyed walking through different neighborhoods and tasting delicious foods. We were completely full by the end of the tour. Highly recommended!
Our family's food tour with Andreas was the highlight of our stay in Athens. Not only did we get to taste many delicious items, but we felt like we got a good understanding of the city's history and politics. The pace is easy, the food varied, and all 7 of us (ages 9 - 63) loved our tour!
It was the 4th time for us to visit Athens and we have decided to do something Different...We have took a tour: "Private Greek food tour". Our guide was Andreas. We were not sorry - not at all !!! the places that We have visited, the tests of all the dishes and the knowledge , kindness , humor and patience of Andreas were amazing !!!!!
This was a solid food tour in terms of host knowledge, walkability, and number of places that we got to stop and try items. It was a little heavy on sweeter things and while you won't leave this tour hungry, if you're not into sweeter desserts you may not eat as much as I did!

Absolutely Amazing! Tania toured us through dozens of tasty restaurants that are favorites of locals and authentic to Greek culture. She made the tour interesting and fun for the kids. In fact, our 9 year old daughter said the Food Tour was her FAVORITE part of our trip to Greece. Tania emailed us after the trip to provide us with recipes to some delicious Greek dishes. 5 stars for Tania and the Private Greek Food Tour in Athens!

We made this tour with our outstanding guide Andreas. He took as for some delicious tasting points we had sweets , souvlaki , traditional food and pies. Andreas was excelent as he not only told us about the foods and his origin but we had an interesting conversation about Greece from a lot of points of view. Really recomended and specially with Andreas.
Our tour was a wonderful way to get our bearings of a new city and set the vibe for our introduction to Athenian style. Our group was aged 78 down to 10 and everyone loved it. Andreas, our guide, was fabulous: patient, knowledge and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended.
A friend and I booked this tour as one of our first excursions in Athens, an experience which was beyond enjoyable thanks to our outstanding guide Andreas, who without lacking in professionality made the entire group feel at home and amongst friends immediately. The tour itinerary is planned around giving you a full immersion into how the old is nestled with the new, leaving you with new thoughts and ideas about Athenian and Greek society and culture. Andreas is extremely well versed in the matters he speaks of and did so whilst accompanying us to multiple artisinal eateries each tailored to a different type of food or wine, each one of which exquisit. Truely a five star day, something I would highly reccomend to everyone.
We really enjoyed the company of our tour guide, Andreas. He taught us a lot about Greek food, the history of Athens, and Greece as a whole, but also about its architecture and different neighbourhoods. He had tremendous attention to detail, was very professional, knowledgeable and engaging with everyone in our group. On the tour, we sampled Athens coffee, ate traditional pies called Tiropita and Bougatsa, followed by a variety of other foods at various establishments. We tried some of the cured meats and learnt about the different types of olive oil, all washed down nicely with traditional raki and fabulous Greek wine! Andreas went above and beyond what was expected and we would like to do another tour with him when we're next in town.
Highly recommend!!! Not only we tried lots and lots of amazing food, met some locals but also learn a lot about Greek history, Greek lifestyle, architecture, we got to know quite few neighborhoods in Athens, we were also talking about today's political and economical situation of Greece, all this in 3,5 hours !!! our guide answered all our questions, we were quite lucky as 5 people from our tour didn't show up so we ended up on private tour with Andreas. an hour after tour we got email from him with recipes of food we tried on tour plus some extras. If you in Athens you should do it!!!
An enjoyable walk through the streets of Athens with visits to a high-end food emporium, Masticha shop, sipping Greek coffee, tasting baklava, the Athens covered food market, souvlaki on the go, a bougatsa stop and meze. Our guides were knowledgeable and very pleasant.

What an excellent way to start our few days in Athens. Tania our tour guide was absolutely professional and by the end of the tour was an amazing friend. Tania was really knowledgeable in the gastronomic and cultural cuisine of Athens and gave us the ultimate experience by taking us to some great places to taste the true delights of the Greek cuisine. The start was an amazing Greek coffee, continuing with several Greek sweets and ending with a traditional mezze. I can highly recommend Tania as a tour guide and this Athens food tour because it gave us an insight to this great city. Thank you Tania you were very professional and very good at giving us a truly delightful start to our stay in Athens.
