This is a fantastic tour. George our guided was so knowledgeable, professional and kind. We had the perfect amount of time at each stop and ended the sightseeing with a wonderful lunch on the top of a mountain with the most beautiful view. We recommend this tour and George as our guide.

Itinerary
Pick up from Athens and one hour drive to reach our first stop.
The Corinth Canal connects the Gulf of Corinth in the Ionian Sea with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth and separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland, arguably making the peninsula an island. It is 6.4 kilometres (4 mi) in length and only 21.4 metres (70 ft) wide at its base, making it impassable for many modern ships. From high up, you can enjoy the best view of Corinth's isthmus and admire the steep limestone walls while you observe the vessels below you navigate their way through the canal.
The Diolkos was a paved trackway near Corinth in Ancient Greece which enabled boats to be moved overland across the Isthmus of Corinth. The shortcut allowed ancient vessels to avoid the long and dangerous circumnavigation of the Peloponnese peninsula. The main function of the Diolkos was the transfer of goods, although in times of war it also became a preferred means of speeding up naval campaigns. The Diolkos combined the two principles of the railway and the overland transport of ships, on a scale that remained unique in antiquity.
In ancient times, Kenchreai was one of the two ports of the inland city-state of Corinth. While Kenchreai served the eastern trade routes via the Saronic Gulf, Lechaion on the Corinthian Gulf served the trade routes leading west to Italy and the rest of Europe. Situated on the eastern side of the Isthmus of Corinth, Kenchreai sat at a natural crossroads for ships arriving from the east and overland traffic heading north and south between central Greece and the Peloponnese. Christianity also arrived at Kenchreai early in the religion's history. According to Acts 18:18, the Apostle Paul stopped at Kenchreai during his second missionary journey, where he had his hair cut to fulfil a vow, probably a Nazirite vow. Paul mentions the place and a woman named Phoebe in the local assembly in his epistle to the Romans (Romans 16:1).
Acrocorinth or "Upper Corinth", the acropolis of ancient Corinth, is a monolithic rock overseeing the ancient city of Corinth. In the estimation of George Forrest, "It is the most impressive of the acropolis of mainland Greece". With its secure water supply, Acrocorinth's fortress was repeatedly used as a last line of defense in southern Greece because it commanded the Isthmus of Corinth, repelling foes from entry by land into the Peloponnese peninsula.
The Museum of Ancient Corinth was built in 1932 to house the numerous objects brought to light by the archaeological excavations. Its construction was undertaken by the American School of Classical Studies, thanks to a donation of Ada Small Moore. The building was designed by Stuart Thompson, following the architectural model of the “Chicago school”. The west wing was added later, in 1951. Museum spaces were organized around two atriums, which give a unique character to the building.
Time for a break! Free time to stroll amongst the village shops where you can treat yourself and buy handmade souvenirs for your family and friends. You will also have free time to enjoy a delicious authentic Greek lunch at a local taverna.
Corinth was a city-state on the Isthmus of Corinth, the narrow stretch of land that joins the Peloponnese to the mainland of Greece, roughly halfway between Athens and Sparta. The modern city of Corinth is located approximately 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) northeast of the ancient ruins. For Christians, Corinth is well known from the two letters of Saint Paul in the New Testament, First and Second Corinthians. Corinth is also mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles as part of Paul the Apostle's missionary travels. In addition, the second book of Pausanias' Description of Greece is devoted to Corinth. Ancient Corinth was one of the largest and most important cities of Greece, with a population of 90,000 in 400 BC.

Fourth time taking a group on a tour in this region since 2015, and Nikos was my BEST guide! By FAR! Nikos was thorough in weaving his knowledge of ancient and church history while his explanations were interesting and informative!! He was kind and attentive and always adjusted to the needs of our Group! As I said above, I have taken three other Groups to the region, and Nikos brought us to every site as well as an interesting spots I had never seen! He communicated each site in sufficient detail, preparing our minds for the stop. He was a BRILLIANT guide.
George was our guide and he was amazing! Brought us kouliri to try. Had cold water and umbrella (do rain and sun) and threw in little surprises along the way. This was my favorite thing we did in Athens!
Very nice pace to the tour. Beware of the acrocorinth path, it is worn stones and slippery. The food at the restaurant that is at the starring point of the path is very good. George was very informative even though he was not an 'official' tour guide. Worth the time and money
We (3 couples) spent a lovely day with LS Tours and our driver, Bill, exploring Corinth. For me specifically, after traveling for the past month and many, many Viators later, I would have to say that our day in Corinth was one of my favorites. I enjoyed walking around these ancient ruins because, for me, it was easier to visualize life 2000+ years ago without seeing a new, modern city in the background. Bill, our driver, was knowledgeable about the Apostle Paul's time in Corinth and we enjoyed walking in Paul's footsteps! I would definitely recommend this tour. Corinth is beautiful!
What a wonderful day trip! Our guide, Bill, was thoughtful and knowledgeable about each stop. We especially enjoyed acrocorinth.
Alex has a great knowledge of Paul and his time in Corinth. He is very accommodating and makes the trip very memorable.
We had a great trip with George Remoundos! We saw many spectacular sites and he provided a lot of helpful information. We went with a large family including 2 kids and he made the trip comfortable for all of us. I highly recommend this tour!
This was an excellent tour. I was reluctant because I was originally scheduled for a group tour and they cancelled us twice. But George was very knowledgeable. And I felt the private tour allowed for more personal input on where you spend most of your tour. Though I am over the company, George helped make it better. And I won’t give him a low rating because of the poor experience with Viator.
Our tour guide George was a real professional - friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable! The trip to Corinth was very enjoyable. We got to see the Corinth canal, the port where the Apostle Paul arrived in Corinth, the road Paul walked to ancient Corinth and the Corinth museum. We also hiked up (well my partner did!) to the top of the Corinth Acropolis with a spectacular view. We then had lunch right near by.
We had an amazing day with Yiannis traveling to Corinth and learning about the impact of St. Paul to Corinth and Ancient Greece. Yiannis made this private tour very comfortable and FULL of information. He was very knowledgeable and great to communicate with him. He was attentive and very considerate. We enjoyed each place we visited and the timing was perfect!
We had such an incredible time with our driver and tour guide, Nikos! It began very early and he was kind enough to stop for coffee for us and then showed us so many great sights it was incredible. His level of knowledge (and patience for my many questions!) were incredible. He took us to the Corinth canal, where we were able to shop a little, use restroom, take pictures and begin our learning. The Apollos temple, ancient Corinth city and museum was incredible. After that we saw a few quick things and climbed a castle! He took us for lunch at a wonderful restaurant that had delicious food and where we purchased a lot of souvenirs that were foods and dips, as opposed to knick knacks. The port of Corinth and basilica where Apostle Paul fulfilled his vow to the Lord about planting a church in Corinth was so inspiring and soul touching. My faith felt so enriched by this tour. (We are Protestant pastors). Nikos was very friendly, kind and knowledgeable. We had the best time with him. Totally recommend the tour and him as your tour guide!
Amazing tour! We loved every site we visited! Nikos did an amazing job keeping us informed. Our guide was kind, gracious and we loved this adventure!
Chris with LS Tours was an excellent guide. Great communication in advance so we clearly knew the meeting place. He was very knowledgeable and friendly, with a sense of humor. He found us a taverna for lunch that had great local food and a great view. Highly recommended!
The views were amazing. Yiannis who was my driver not only kept up with informationabout the tour but also maintained a very interactive conversation.
The Isthmia Archeological Museum was a hidden gem. The artifacts and the information about the Isthmia games enhanced our experience. Ancient Corinth with Bema and the stone on which St Paul preached the Gospel as well as the Roman marketplace and Temple of Apollo was fascinating and a wonder to enjoy. The visit to the Church of Saint Paul, the Acrocorinth and the Corinth Canal was great. Lunch by the sea was wonderful and relaxing.
George was very knowledgeable and accommodating. This capped off a 3 day tour of Athens and he filled in many of the missing parts. A private tour was a great day to finish our vacation in the Mediterranean.
Alex! Alex! Alex! Such an amazing day and Alex our driver was the difference! He is the best! He had the schedule lined out perfectly! He took us to all the places at just the right time. He even managed to hit the changing of the guard so we could see that as well. Perfect restaurant suggestion. Everything was so good and totally worth it! Well done!
Spent 8 hrs today with George as our driver and guide. Saw all the major sites in Corinth that were related to the Apostle Paul’s time there. George had good knowledge of the history of this area and if there was something he didn’t know, he was quick to look it up on his phone. With the temperature 95°F, George was always considerate in keeping the A/C in good range with water available in the car, which was immaculate. The Isthmus Canal, the Acrocorinth, the historical city of Corinth and the Kenchreai port where Paul landed in Corinth were all highlights of the trip. George made the trip fun, we were never rushed, he was full of knowledge, sociable and a very safe driver.
We had a great experience with our driver Alex! He picked us up promptly at our hotel and provided lots of easy conversation and history on the trip over to Corinth. He was very kind and patient with all of our questions, and also gave us tips on navigating Athens along with restaurant recommendations (Dopios, Lukumades)! Alex allowed us to spend as much time as we wished at each site, to really tailor the experience for ourselves. The archaeological museum of Corinth is the perfect size, not overwhelming, to immerse yourself in the history of the site. It's an incredible feeling to wander and be in the same space that Paul was so long ago. We also climbed to the top of the Acrocorinth, which gives the most incredible views of the surrounding area and countryside. We finished with a stop at the ancient port of Kechries, where we were able to stand in the Saronic gulf, and see where Paul left for Ephesus. Great experience overall, highly recommend.
Our guide Alex was extremely knowledgeable and patient with all of our questions! He brought to life the entire experience and encouraged us to take as much time as we wanted at each site. He also helped us navigate general questions we had about visiting Greece and the busy capital Athens for the first time. At the end of our tour, he took us to the port of Kechries, where Paul left for Ephesus, and we had a great experience standing in the waters of the Saronic Gulf.
Our tour guide was amazing and personal!! Petros Nikitas was wonderful! Petros was very informative patience and kind.
Our guide, Nikos, was punctual, well dressed and immediately set us at ease. As we left the hustle and bustle of Athens, we settled in the comfy seats of the Mercedes van. Nikos provided us with info throughout the drive and answered questions. We visited the canal, ancient Corinth, a beautiful mosaic mural for St Paul, the acrocorinth, and had lunch by the sea. Nikos even shared his favorite coffee spot once we got back into the city. When booking via Viator, I was a tad hesitant due to the low number of reviews on the site (8). I needn't have been worried! We were so glad we'd taken a day to do this. Well worth the expense.
Our driver was on time and cheerful. The van was older, A/C did not work well in the back, and had no WiFi. Since we were an older group, we would have skipped the AcroCorinth as it was a steep, rocky and slippery, long path to the top. No one who attempted this made it to the top because it was closing. I would not have called it a “Biblical” tour. Our drivers accent was very thick. Even though the restaurant he chose for us gets great ratings and was authentic, it was not to our taste. We didn’t eat lunch until 4.
This was one of the most wonderful experiences we’ve ever had on a tour. Billy was an amazing guide, and not only did we see even more sites then were in the description, we ate lunch at this lovely restaurant on the beach, family owned, and delicious! Highly recommend this tour.
We had an excellent driver and guide. Nikos. He was punctual, and professional. He was very accommodating, giving us enough time to enjoy everything, as well as respecting our space to explore. Visiting Corinth was a wonderful experience and even though it was a lot of driving, we felt very safe in his care… will certainly recommend him to others. He was also extremely knowledgeable and shared his passion for the history of his country. Thank you Nikos.
I was fortunate to take a tour to Ancient Corinth and Acrocorinth with Apostolos, who was an excellent tour guide. He pointed out interesting sights, gave history along the way, and was great at answering questions. It was a very relaxing time schedule, no need to hurry. The views of the Isthmus Canal were amazing. It was great to get away from the big city of Athens, out into more rural areas. I was sitting maybe 12 feet from the shoreline while eating lunch literally on the beach at a lovely table - great food, fabulous view. I’d highly recommend this 8 hour day trip!
Alex went above and beyond our expectations! Not only was he punctual, but super informative and a great conversationalist! We highly recommend using him while traveling in Greece!
Dimitirous, our driver, was fantastic! Very knowledgeable! Lots of fun!!!. Highly recommend!!! He even worked on his day off to take us on this tour.
Absolutely fantastic day! It felt like a whole holiday in a day and made lifelong memories ‘following in the footsteps of St Paul.’ Our driver Apostolos was superb; a truly delightful man full of knowledge, courtesy and flowing conversation. He made sure we were satisfied every step of the way and removed all the stress of travelling to incredible places off the beaten track. This is not something we could have done via public transport and was worth every penny. We visited the Corinth Canal, the Dionys, Ancient Corinth, the castle of Acrocorinth, St Paul’s church and mosaic and the port where St Paul left for Turkey. Read Acts 18 before visiting and it will all come alive. Each stop was fascinating with just the right time allocated. We never once felt rushed and Apostolos kindly took reels of photos for us! Meant we actually have some photos of us together from this holiday! Lunch was a really special treat, right on the beach next to the beautifully blue Saronic Bay. Heavenly! The only one negative thing I would point out is beware the price of the restaurant! I’ve never spent so much money on a fish as delicious as it was! Fairly sure they scammed us but was too happy on the wine and setting to question it - not the tour company’s fault! The best thing we’ve done in Athens. Only problem is now Athens itself looks ugly in comparison to what we were able to experience just an hour and a half away! Would not hesitate to recommend.
Alex was very welcoming, friendly, and informative. The car ride was pleasant as he told me the important historical facts of each beautiful landmark and landscape we passed. My favorite part of the trip was being told the story of how Paul was put in a barrel, thrown down a mountain, and he survived the fall. I actually got to see that mountain, and it was truly a miracle from God that Paul did not die. I’ll have that vision and memory of visiting ancient Corinth where Paul preached forever!
This was a wonderful tour, and our guide, Nikos, was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable and made it a fun tour, even a great place for lunch by the sea. We were a group of 6 and were able to go special out-if-the way places that big buses couldn’t go. The history we saw was phenomenal.
