Terrible airport transfer. They were supposed to be waiting in the arrivals area with a sign, instead I got a text that they were just going to pull up to the curb, then had to wait 30 minutes after clearing customs and getting our baggage. The driver drove very aggressively and recklessly. We had booked a second transfer from our hotel to the port and it was cancelled two hours prior to the scheduled pickup. Thankfully my hotel arranged a taxi and it was 10 euros less than I had paid through Welcome Pickups.

We had a wonderful morning with our guide Ilias Kanteres. A terrific way to see some of Athens with an expert! We would highly recommend.

George made our arrival in Athens feel effortless. He picked us up in a beautiful luxury Mercedes Sprinter, which was an absolute dream after a long flight… tons of space for luggage, clean, comfortable, and honestly just such a smooth ride into the city. But what really stood out was George himself. So kind, warm, and welcoming… the kind of person who instantly puts you at ease when you’re in a new place. He shared helpful tips, made sure we were taken care of, and you could just tell he genuinely enjoys what he does. If you’re looking for a reliable, comfortable, and genuinely lovely start to your time in Athens, George is your guy. Couldn’t recommend him more 🤍

John was an amazing tour guide. I had a great time on the layover tour, he was interesting knew everything about Athens history. Showed me a lot of cool spots. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone whether solo or small group. 5/5 and A++ overall!

From start to finish of our Personal Tour. We, my sister and I, found Jonathan, Viator Agent, organising our Tour via phone call and Themos, our assigned Personal Tour Guide, so professional, supportive, friendly and both of them, went the extra mile for us, in difficult situations. Jonathan had great patience and was so supportive on the phone getting all our details to organise online and Themos, due to my sister's mobility limititations and our mistake with misbooking a Museum ticket, conversed with staff at Acropolis Slopes and got us Disability Assist to enable us to visit this amazing Archaelogical tteasure, which really made our Tour so special and without Themos's expert , professional and friendly manner with staff at eentrance to A S, there's no way this would of happened for us. He was so nice, shared so much history and personal experience, made our Tour so comfortable, enjoyable. Themos was on the phone to us, connecting at all time, for our collection points etc. He was a true pleasure and filled us in on required local information. Was early on his pickup for us at Port Pireaus and early and efficient with our dropoff at Athen's Airport, filling us in with all necessary details needed in Airport. We got the best view for the changing of the guard at the president house. We then got to go through the national garden. We then went to the Olympic stadium and a hill top with a church. We also went to the academy next to the national library. We also got to see palaka shopping center and got great recommendations for food. Everywhere we went we got informational stories and personal stories. Our guide Glykeria was the best. We would choose her every time.

Viator staff demonstrated highly irresponsible and unaccountable attitude. Despite reminding them multiple times, they booked my travel at incorrect schedule in my recent travel to Athens. I lost almost USD3K due to this disaster done my Viator and their tour partner. I recommend never booking a tour with Viator instead consider other operators and deal directly with tour company.

Giorgos responded to our interests with a perfect itinerary for the five hours we had with him. Having previously visited Athens twice before, we had already seen most of the primary sites. Following his suggestions, we were able to avoid repeating past visits and were able to explore places of which we had no prior knowledge. It was a very enjoyable afternoon.

Our driver Michael who collected us from the airport in Athens was so great that we asked him to collect us the next day and drop us off for our cruise and then contacted him again when returning and he helped plan a great day out seeing all of the major Athenian sights and more! He was excellent at communicating, always keeping us informed of where he was and how and where to meet him! Highly recommend!

We were left stranded as the company - Welcome Tours/Pickups - never showed up at the cruise arrival port as contracted and paid for! Viator should be VERY leary of contracting with this company. A full refund is expected.

Excellent service from Stavros. Got in touch before we left Milos to confirm pick up. Kept in touch with delayed ferry and pick up at v busy Piraeus. Suggested alternative plan which worked really well - leaving bags at left luggage near Acropolis. Thank you Stavros for making our short trip to Athens so easy.

This tour was the Best! I didn't know that layover tours existed until this one and it was great. We visited Acropolis, the basketball court of our favorite Milwaukee Buck Giannis Antetokounmpo, watched the changing of the guard at parliament, and more. I'll be looking for layover excursions from now on! No point in staying at the airport!

This was a fantastic service. Our driver, Manos, was just excellent. Although he is not an official tour guide, he gave us so much interesting information and background along the drive. He was on time to pick us up from the port and took us to all the major sites - 5 hours flew past! We had misunderstood the instructions given and had not pre booked our tickets to the Acropolis and museum. Manos sent us links to do all this (the day before!) and was just so helpful. I cannot recommend this service more highly!

We booked and paid for our pick up with this company a few weeks before we were due to visit Athens and received confirmation. However once we had landed we received a text message informing us that ‘ Sorry we have no drivers available today, apologies we will refund your money in the future’. We lost £3 on the refund for some reason? For information the cab we picked up outside of the airport was comparable with the Welcome pickups price.

Excellent first class service. On time modern comfortable transport. Easy to arrange and contact. English speaking Bottle of water given to each person. Drivers so friendly and helpful. I’ve never used pick up services before but this is the way forward for me. I cannot recommend this company enough to any travellers. Put your trust in them and you won’t be disappointed.

We had an 8 hr layover. Picked up at the airport, went to the Temple of Artemis and then the Temple of Poseidon and stopped for a quick lunch before returning to the airport. Our guide, Dimitris Spyropoulos was fantastic!!!!!!

Andreas was excellent—he was friendly and knowledgeable! He put together a great itinerary, and he was also flexible to any requests. I really got to see the highlights of the city in the short time I had.

We had some time between getting off our cruise and our flight in the afternoon, so we we’re so happy to find Ilias and his tour! Our luggage was kept safe in the car so we didn’t have to drag it from place to place, and Ilias had great ideas on what to show us! We saw Hadrian’s Gate, The Temple of Zeus, the olympic stadium, the changing of the guards, the highest point in Athens, and we had some time to shop. We decided to skip the Acropolis as we had already seen it on a previous trip, but there was time to do that too. Ilias gave us a lot of insight on the history and current culture of Greece. He was super friendly and we had so much fun! We’d definitely book another tour with Ilias and would recommend the tour to anyone looking for a good, private tour around Athens!

George was a wonderful driver and great tour guide! We got to see so much in just a few hours. His car fit all 6 of our suitcases.

Don’t trust this company. Their words “ don’t worry we will track your flight”. That is Bull… our flight was delayed so we missed our connection, we informed the driver prior to our scheduled time for pick up via WhatsApp as they instructed us and no response, then we called via WhatsApp and no answer, finally 30 minutes later the driver picks up and he informs us that he is no longer the driver and it is someone else. We then call him with the same no response until he finally picked up to simply tell us “ sorry you did did not show up on time and you will not get a refund…. Having booked a round trip pickup with this service we immediately canceled our return trip and they charged us 20% for cancellation to days prior to pick up. In short it cost is $65 euros for no service.

Andreas Picked us up at the airport and drove us to our hotel in Athens. He gave us a tour of Athens and explained the region, history, points of interest and so many things on the drive. He is a joy to spend time with. You feel immediately at home. He is very careful to be sure that he anticipates your every need ahead of time. Thank you! Welcome pickups was very professional in making sure that I knew where to go and how to meet Andreas. I could call him or text him if needed ahead of time.

Fantastic tour! Theodoris spoke excellent English, arranged a perfect itinerary for our short visit, shared history and information. Provided water, was accommodating of shorter visits to sites in hot sun. Delivered us directly to airport on time.

We highly recommend this service. We were blessed to have such a charming and professional driver and guide, Andreas Papatheodorou. Andreas went above and beyond to accommodate our requests, and was extremely helpful and informative. His luxurious Mercedes minibus was meticulous and he provided us with water and phone chargers, made great suggestions, and had extensive knowledge of Athens and Greek history etc. We have twice had Andreas for transfers between Athens airport and Piraeus port, and for tours in Athens. The Welcome Pickups service provided by Andreas is the perfect beginning and end to our Greek holidays.

We arrived in Athens at 6 AM and couldn't board our cruise ship till 2 PM so a 5 hour layover tour was an ideal way to see the city. Our guide/driver was great. He took us to all the sites we wanted to see and suggested some others. We even got to see Acropolis with no wait, as we got there just as they opened at 8am.

My brother and I visited Athens in June and used Welcome pick-ups for our shuttle to and from the airport. They were recommended to us by our hotel. We were so pleased with their service that we ended up using them for everything else. We took the trip to Sounion and a day trip to Peloponnesus. Their service is impeccable, the vehicles are spotlessly clean, and the drivers are very courteous and knowledgeable. I highly recommend. Welcome pick-ups helped make our trip to Athens a very pleasant experience.

We were picked up by our driver at the airport. He had previously written to us via WhatsApp where we could find him. But he also had a sign with our name on him, by which we could recognize him. The car was in very good condition and our driver could tell us a lot about the buildings he drove us past. The price was only minimally more expensive than a normal taxi, so full recommendation.

Our driver Andreas Papatheodorou was punctual, very pleasant, not at all invasive and funny. His English is perfect. Its van, extremely clean, air-conditioned, flexible driving and wise advice.
