Elias was an amazing guide. He has an authentic love for Greek cuisine and an even deeper respect for the culture and history of Athens. We had a great first night in Athens and it is 100% because of our guide

My husband and I went on the Athens by Night Food and Wine Tour and had an amazing experience!! Our guide, Aspa, was so great! She not only lead us through all different traditional Greek foods but she also explained different archeological sites around the city as we went! Would highly recommend her as your guide!!
Wonderful food tour with great stops and a lovely, knowledgeable guide.
I arranged this tour as a 21st birthday present for my son and two of his friends who are studying in Athens this semester! They said it was a “10/10” night and a great way to experience the city. They went to great spots they would not have known about and the food was excellent. The guides were friendly and awesome. Huge hit!
Fun way to explore the city with someone who lives there. The wines and food were presented by knowledgeable people providing insights that won't come out of a guidebook.
We joined this tour just three hours after landing in Athens. It was a great induction to the city and its sights, sounds, smells, and of course, tastes! Our guide, Maria, was very welcoming, personable, and fun to hang out with. The other people in our tour group were at the tail end of their vacation and didn’t get as much out of it as we did. I would definitely recommend the food tour as the first activity you do when you land, even the same day if you can manage it.
AMAZING! Such a great experience. Our tour guide picked out amazing choices for us. I’ve done different food tours in various countries and this one was by far the best. We talk about this food tours often. The food was delicious and we saw a different side of Athens. She seemed to take us to all the local spots in the city. This food tour included full meal portions vs a small bite like some other food tours.
Eugenia was a fantastic guide. We can't recommend this experience enough. We got the highlights of the best of Greek food and wine and helpful travel tips as well. We had a fantastic evening and she went the extra mile for our son's birthday. Well worth it. Just be sure you are hungry!
Wonderful way to spend an evening in Athens. Our guide Eleni was great, more like an old friend showing us around town and her favorite foods and wines. Highly recommended
Our private food tour with Eugenia was amazing. She was a lovely guide and was very thorough with everything during the tour. The selection of restaurants and shops were excellent! There was so much delicious food and drink to be had! I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a fabulous evening exploring the food and wines of Athens!
Eugenia was the perfect guide. A passion for both Greek history and culinary delights. The meal was incredible. The olive oil tasting was a unique experience as was the wine tasting. All hosts were very hospitable and engaging. I thoroughly recommend this tour as a perfect introduction to Greece.
We love food tours in new cities to learn from a local about the history of the area and to learn where to go and where not to go for meals, shopping, sightseeing, etc. We like them because it marries food with history and we find that is a great way to get to know a city. This tour was worthy of the 3 stars only because our guide was probably one of the worst we have had- and we have done food/wine tours in London, Rome, Amsterdam, Paris, New York, Florence, Venice, Avignon, and Barcelona. She was very cordial and kind. However when it came to sharing history about various sights that we passed, she was sorely lacking. For instance, we passed by one small church that a modern building had incorporated into itself and we were all wondering what it was- she kept on walking. Or she would tell about something to the folks that were near her at the front of the pack but if you were in the back, you missed out. Good tour; good food; we went back to HoeCut for lunch one day; we bought some wonderful olive oil at one of the stops. The meal at the end was good as well, although we had to choose from a scaled down menu. Guide- not so good; therefore, we missed out on a large part of the tour.
Our tour was fantastic! Maria was extraordinary guide. She shared stories and history of Greek food and traditions. Took us to spectacular wine bar, olive oil store, restaurants and had us taste some of the best food, I am not a very fast walker and I was able to keep up with the tour. Highly recommend any tour with Greek me.
Ismene was a wonderful tour guide for the Athens by Night Food Tour & Wine Tasting. She was very knowledgeable, fun and bubbly as we walked, talked and listened to her explain and describe historical nd fun facts at each destination. The food and wine was very delicious and fulfilling. I couldn't eat another bite I was so full.
10/10, Constantine was an incredible guide. She really knows and loves her city and it shows. The food is unbelievable , as expected, and the experience is even better!
I recently embarked on a food tour in Athens and it was an exceptional experience. Our guide, Marrita, was a true food enthusiast. She provided insightful commentary on each dish we sampled, explaining the history and cultural significance behind every flavor. Overall, it was a memorable culinary journey that went beyond typical tourist fare. Highly recommended for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the city's delights.
Constantina was an amazing guide. Very knowledgeable and did a great job engaging the group. Food was wonderful- so full and happy at the end. We got to see and taste a bit of everything- classic Greek dishes, regional wines and spirits, olive oils and pistachio butter (yum!). You won’t be sorry if you do this tour- highly recommend!!
Maria gave us a fine tour and we got to taste many things that were totally new to us. With a wine tasting and starters we were off to a good start. Bit of fantastic street food followed. Then some olive oil tasting with a couple of delicious surprises. Finishing off with main courses and desserts. We were very happy with out first full day in Greece.
We had a wonderful food and wine tour with Mini! She was very knowledgeable and made our experience extremely memorable! Great way to kick off our girls trip!!
Konstantina was fantastic during our food and wine tasting experience. She combined a fun personality with deep knowledge which created a great memory for our group
Such a great tour! Niki was so informative, discussing food and culture of Greece. Food and drink were outstanding. Definitely a great introduction to Greek food!! And you get plenty to eat.
Constantine was an excellent guide! She was kind, knowledgeable, friendly and easy to speak with. The tour she put together was perfect! We tasted olive oil, wines, cheese, meat, various food and it was all delectable, especially the “surprise.” This was a highlight of our holiday.
Great tour! These folks know what they are doing. Don't use anyone else!! They are attentive, easy to get in touch with. They get back with you and answer all of your questions!
A fabulous experience from start to finish. Our host Constantine was a delight, full of knowledge and fun. Such good value with gorgeous food and drinks. Highly, highly recommend.
Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! One of the best things I’ve ever done on vacation. Our tour guide Eugenia was wonderful! On top of the food, wine, deserts, olive oil tastings and much more, Eugenia exposed us to Greek culture, history and traditions. Highly recommend!
This tour was amazing! Mini was our tour guide. She was on time and was very friendly and knowledgeable. The places we visited were incredible and the food and wines were delicious! I would highly recommend this tour!
Very enjoyable. Maria shared a lot of interesting information and took us to very well selected establishments for wine, olive oil and lots of food. Highly recommend this tour on first day of arrival. Good way to see the heart and people of Athens
Amazing tour with amazing people! We had a blast! I highly recommend this tour. The wine and sommelier were incredible. Guide “mini” couldn’t have been nicer! And we are such a rowdy and fun crowd of five and the other couple also had a blast. The food was to die for!! Thank you! Dawn
Our guide Rita was perfect for this tour. She was very easy to talk to, explained our itinerary, made sure we all stayed together, were all enjoying things and was a genuinely delightful individual. We visited a store that specialized in Greek products and did an olive oil tasting, tried Mastiha, and pistachio butter. All delightful. Moved on to a Pitta restaurant and each picked out our own Pitta. Rita explained each. I chose beef and thoroughly enjoyed it. Then we visited a high end wine bar where we sampled five delicious Greek wines along with crackers, cheese & marmalade and were informed on each by a local sommelier. Then we went to another restaurant and Rita ordered first, a tray of multiple Greek spreads & pita bread which we all sampled and shared; then a set of approx. 5 different Greek mains which we all shared. Oh yes there was also Reeki(spelling) and ouzo to share. Then off for gelato. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable evening with an excellent guide, some lovely people and a ridiculously wide variety of outstanding authentic Greek food & wine. I highly recommend this tour.
Was a great introductory experience to tap into the great cuisine of Greece. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and looked after us very well.
We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour. The guide was excellent, and the food and wine was good and well-chosen. You will be full at the end.
The private Athens by Night Food Tour and Wine Tasting was an incredible experience from start to finish. Our guide was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. She took us to a lovely wine bar for a wine tasting with charcuterie. Then we enjoyed street food. Afterward, we went for an enjoyable tour of beautiful potions of the city. We needed some exercise to be able to continue eating! We then had an olive oil experience followed by a delicious dinner at Ella’s (I recommend the Greek salad there). We finished the evening with yummy gelato. I only took a few pictures because we were busy enjoying the evening.
Maria was an excellent host who took us to some wonderful places. This tour was great value and we got to see some real local highlights. By the end of the night we were stuffed and could not fit another thing in, despite multiple attempts. I would suggest that you don't eat lunch before you go on this tour.
Our tour guide was Mel (shortened version of her real name). I can say from the moment she met our group, there was a connection! We met and went for a wine tasting (5) different wines. From there we went for souvlakia which were perfect. She recommended the beef and it was absolutely delicious!! Then on to an olive oil tasting with a local, whose family actually is in the business. So very informative that I won’t even think of not having olive oil daily. Then to dinner at a restaurant named Ella’s. We started with an assorted platter of dips with homemade pita. Then they served the Greek salad with the cherry tomatoes, herbs, feta and olive oil with pieces of pita. WOW! Dinner we chose between a menu of 6-7 items, some vegetarian options. My favorite was the orzo pasta with cheese sauce and lamb. Everyone’s dinner was delicious. Ouzo and another after dinner drink were served. And….as if that wasn’t enough, Mel took us to a delightful gelato place for dessert. I cannot rate this tour high enough for the price paid. Mel was so attentive and answered our 100+ questions about food and culture. If you have the chance…take it!! Thank You Mel….and if you are ever in Almost Heaven West Virginia…look us up! ❤️
The Private Athens By Night Food Tour & Wine Tasting was very pleasant and enjoyable! We had many laughs and great food!
The guide was fantastic. Melpo was very informative and entertaining. The wine tasting and pitas were great as well as the olive tasting. The main meal at Ella’s at the end was the most disappointing. The quality of that food did not meet the standards set earlier in the tour.
We did the food and wine evening tour as a family of three with our 12-year-old daughter. Mini our guide met us in the hotel lobby and was extremely friendly and engaging from the get-go. It being our first day in Athens, she not only did the tour but also gave us a great introduction on the city, Greek food, and culture as well as the neighbourhood around our hotel in the city centre. All this while also making sure to keep our daughter engaged with stories and snippets and conversation around their shared interest - Greek Mythology. We had two food stops and an extensive session of wine tasting from various regions of Greece. There was something for everyone including a non-alcoholic wine and other beverages to taste, for our daughter. Restaurant chosen for dinner was right opposite our hotel and was an excellent option to savour food and salads made from quality local produce. 3 hours flew by, and we had an excellent first evening with our friendly guide Mini in her beautiful city of Athens.
We had an amazing Athens food and wine tour with Eugenia. She was a great guide. It was a lovely evening, amazing food, we learned so much, and enjoyed it all. 10/10 would recommend, it was absolutely fantastic.
This was a fantastic upscale food tour and wine tasting — Learning about Greek food and culture from Maia was very enlightening! Maria was an amazing tour guide and the places we visited were all “sit down” rather than standing outside nibbling food! The olive oil tasting was a nice bonus, as well as the gelato!
We took this tour when we first arrived in Athens and it was fabulous. Eugenia was a knowledgeable guide and put us at ease right away. There were 4 of us that did the tour- my husband and I and two of our sons (ages 23,18) and we all enjoyed ourselves, so good for all ages. The food was all amazing- come on an empty stomach, you’ll need the room- and the area we walked around in was lively and energetic! I wouldn’t hesitate to suggest this tour to anyone traveling to Athens!
Met with our guide at the designated meeting point, again sorry can't remember her name... enjoyed the experience but would make a few suggestions. 1st stop was for Soulvaki (Hoocut), we were given a glass of water, but would have liked to have had some kind of drink with this, even if the guide gave us the option to go and buy a drink ourselves. Next stop - Wine Tasting OK 3rd stop - Main Course dinner, which we were given your local spirit, again would have probably have liked to have had a glass of wine or beer with the main course. The local spirt is not everyones choice of drink with the main meal. 4th stop - Ice Cream OK
Our guide was very informative and friendly and we enjoyed seeing places as well as the food and drink experiences.
We booked this tour for our first night in Athens so we didn't have to figure out a place to eat. Nikki was a superior guide and we enjoyed our time with her. Don't eat before taking this tour! We had samples of a liqueur, the best gyros, a delicious dinner including appetizers at Ella's and dessert at a wonderful bakery! I'm sure I'm missing something. She is very knowledgeable regarding the city and answered all of our questions. I recommend this tour to anyone that enjoys excellent food and a good time!
The food & wine tour met all expectations and then some. Our guide Penelope was lovely and so easy to talk to. It was a great evening for all of us. One suggestion though is to meet at the first location. Our hotel was much closer to the first wine bar than Syntagma Square.
We had a wonderful evening with our guide Irene (excuse me if spelled incorrectly). Each placed stop was fun and informative. We would highly recommend this tour and especially our tour guide.
Our guide Tiama did a wonderful job. Her enthusiasm for Athens as a city and for its food and wine was infectious. She did an excellent job talking about Athens and its life as we walked from location to location. Her selection of the four places we went was very good. We especially liked the Restaurant Ella and its excellent food and the wine bar with the selection and descriptions of the various wines by the owner. One of us preferred sweeter wines and the owner provided some special selections for her. During the tour I mentioned that I learned about Greeking.me from an article on an Athens food tour by a food writer for the New York Times. It was an amazing coincidence that Tiama led that tour.
Such a perfect way to start our stay in Athens! Vasiliki (Vicky) was on time- very informative about the neighborhoods and incredibly fun and energetic ! The Restaurants and wine tasting were a perfect way to get introduced to the city. She was the best guide and we hope to come back to Athens and hope to connect with her again !! Highly recommend!!
We had an amazing time experiencing Athens with our guide Vicky! She was funny and took time to get to know us, then went above and beyond by pointing out other local spots we could try after the tour. She also tailored the experience to our preferences - for example, at the last spot (dessert, of course) we said we loved chocolate and she brought out the most incredible chocolate cake for us. The wine tasting was also a highlight, and we even went back to the wine bar the very next day. Would highly recommend this tour and Vicky to all who visit Athens. If you only have one night in Athens, do this tour.
This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Athens. It started with a walking tour of Athens with our fantastic tour guide Penelope. She was informative, friendly and really catered to our needs. We visited a local wine bar where we tried 5 different wines. We continued on to a local restaurant and sampled many different appetizers. We went to an amazing local restaurant and had souvlaki. The evening finished up with delicious samples of desserts. We were never rushed and were able to enjoy the atmosphere and really got a feel for Greece.
We loved everything we had, what an incredible night and a great value too! Penelope was very fun and professional, great food and conversation.
