Used Welcome Pickups twice. Drivers were prompt and provided a wealth of local information. Very cost effective and efficient service. Highly recommend.

Scheduled a pickup time and we got off the ship early so I had to contact the driver, and he changed the pickup time to pick us up earlier. Athens had a lot of rush hour traffic but driver knew the way around most of it and got us to airport without delay! Good job and very dependable. I will most definitely use their transport services again!

We had some time before checking in at our Airbnb and decided to take a city tour on the transfer from the airport. Our guide was great, very knowledgeable and fun. He drove us by a few of the major tourist sites and a few lesser-known places he recommended we tour while in Athens. It was a great way to become familiar with the city.

Excellent drive from the airport to the city centre in Athens! Yiannis was waiting for us in the luggage pickup area. He talked to us about Athens on the drive from the airport to our Airbnb. He showed us the Panathenaic Stadium along the way. We plan to book a tour with him when we return and would recommend welcome pick ups!

Welcome team picked us at the airport. The prior to pickup communication was perfect and accurate. Car was clean. Driver was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. He had water for us and gave us a great tour. Left his card if we needed help and was very conversational.

We just did the airport transfer to our hotel. Driver was ontime and communicated clearly, and offered information about Athens.

Unreliable company, cancelled our scheduled and prepaid pick up this morning from Athens International. I received the cancellation message as I was looking for the confirmed driver. In their cancellation email they state a refund will take 4-7 days. This is also an unacceptable practice. Do not book with Welcome Pickups.

We actually had an airport transfer one the first day and the Athens city tour on the last day of our stay in Athens, both were with Glykeria Kalomvouni. Very disappointing service Despite being in constant contact, the driver left after 60 minutes while we were still waiting for delayed baggage, without any warning. Clearer communication and some flexibility would have avoided the situation. The follow-up communication by email was very good, clear and professional, and the amount paid was compensated with a voucher for a future transfer. A fair resolution. As they say: “The operation was successful, the patient died.” The money was compensated; the ruined evening wasn’t.

I booked with this service for an airport transfer in Athens. My daughter was travelling alone for the first time. The service stated the driver will be waiting for her at arrivals with a sign. Instead he messaged her saying that he is waiting in a car in an area not familiar to my daughter to ‘save time’. She was not late in arriving and there was no reason for this. She called me stressed and confused. This is unacceptable. Not happy at all. Given the many options for transfers, I would be cautious booking with this service if you want what is promised.

I’m writing this as a warning to anyone considering Welcome Pickups — especially first-time visitors who don’t yet know the airport they’re landing in. I booked an airport pickup for the same reason most people do: arriving somewhere new, with luggage, wanting one part of the trip to be reliable and stress-free. That is the whole promise of this service, and it failed completely. My flight landed and I went through the completely normal arrival process — a slow deplaning, a shuttle bus transfer to the terminal, immigration, and baggage collection. None of this is in a passenger’s control, and all of it is exactly what an airport pickup is meant to account for. The entire time, I stayed in contact with my driver on WhatsApp. I greeted him, thanked him, told him I had landed and was on my way in, and at 11:25 I messaged him that I was collecting my luggage. He never replied. By the company’s own driver logs, the complimentary waiting window ended at 11:28, and I reached the exit at around 11:30. So they could not wait two minutes — even though I had told the driver, three minutes earlier, that I was standing at baggage claim and on my way out. It gets worse. At no point did the driver tell me he was leaving, that the waiting time was about to end, or that I should hurry. And at no point was I offered the chance to simply pay for a few extra minutes of waiting — something the company itself says is possible. Instead, the driver went silent, drove off, marked my booking a “no-show,” and I was refused any refund. Think about who actually relies on a pre-booked airport pickup: people in a rush, and first-time visitors who don’t know the terminal, the queues, or where the exit even is. Those are precisely the travelers this rigid “two minutes late and you’re abandoned” process punishes. A company that genuinely cared about its customers would have a driver who answers a message, gives thirty seconds of warning, or offers paid waiting before driving away and billing you for nothing. I will not use them again, and I’d urge anyone arriving somewhere unfamiliar to book a service that will actually be there when you walk out — because this one was not.

We used Welcome Pickups for transfer from the airport to the ship and back again. On the way back we also booked a 1 hour city tour. Dimitris was our driver and he was very friendly and even got us a pastry to try! He made sure we saw a lot of Athens in our short one hour tour and we really appreciated it!

First class service, excellent communication from drivers, easy to change pick up times if required. The drivers were on time, chatted to us in English telling us about themselves and the city. Best way to get from airport to city at a reasonable cost. I would highly recommend this company.

Great company always on time and very friendly drivers

We were referred by the Silken Hoteles in Barcelona and we were extremely impressed with the service. The drivers were prompt, polite and professional. Our city tour guide did a nice job of showing us the city and sharing his knowledge and experience.

Glykeria was in constant contact with us by the time we arrived at port. She ensured that we saw much of the city before directing us to our apartment, even arranging to have our bags dropped off prior to check-in time. She was very easy to understand and certainly knew the history of this awesome location.

We took a transfer from our hotel to the cruise terminal. Our driver was on time and offered up his knowledge about Athens along the way.

Giannis was excellent. He was nice, knowledgable, and helpful for our coming stay. He helped us find the WC in the arrivals area, even when he was outside waiting for us.

Welcome transfers are great and Barcelona add on sightseeing was a plus but the Athens add on tour lacked coordination. An add on was not completed. Instead, two drivers were assigned; one for transfer with an adequate sized vehicle and a separate driver in an inadequate sized vehicle for sightseeing add on which did not happen. Don't offer and charge for an add on you can't coordinate. We paid for the add-on but di not receive and are waiting on customer service to respond. We were very satisfied with the transfers that were completed.

The first experience was ok-ish. The driver was late and he did not show up with a sign with my name on it. The second time was a disaster. The driver cancelled without informing us. His colleagues did their best to take us on time to our destination. So, no more welcomepickups.

Booked a pickup which was confirmed quickly. We had a lot of luggage so I confirmed with the driver that her car was big enough. She replied quickly that it was. We had an early morning pickup at 5.30 to catch our flight. When I woke up at 4.45 I had a message that the pickup was cancelled and they didn’t have another driver. This put us in a spin as a lot of taxis in Athens are small cars. I booked an Uber and luckily the car was a station wagon. Welcome Pickups sent us a small voucher as compensation but that doesn’t fix the stress of finding an appropriate vehicle with no notice. I’ve used welcome pickups in other countries and they have been perfect. Not Greece!

We arrived in a day that welcome pickups was participating in a taxi-wide strike and unfortunately had to cancel our transfer from airport to hotel, luckily our hotel helped us book with a different company on our way in, but my review is for our departure from Athens into the airport. We got picked up directly in front of our hotel entrance, which is super tricky and super packed with other taxis and motorcycles and pedestrians, but our driver made his way in—cool, calm, collected. A real pro. Greeted us with a warm smile and assisted us in putting all our luggage in the trunk. He opened the doors for us and had us on our way to the airport. We had good conversation on the strike and he was very personable and made us feel very welcomed. We got to the airport fast and he drove safely, he even asked us to please put on our seat belts, which I appreciated. Although the strike messed up our plans on our way in and we had to pay a lot more for a private car, in the future I would use welcome pick ups again!!

We used welcome pickup for transfer service from the Athens Airport to our hotel and then back again. The first leg of the journey was very easy with our driver giving us a nice overview of Athens. The second ride was direct to the airport very early in the morning. Both drivers were on time and professional.

Booked a transfer (without special activity) weeks in advance, got canceled with only 2h notice - not reliable. I cannot recommend. (Booking Code 138910, Sept 12, Port to city Athens.)

The driver turned up but did not take us on the private tour. He drove us to our destination and left us there. When we asked why we were not being taken on the tour, he threw his hands in the air and said its the company. Then we could not get anyone to speak too and have applied for a refund it ruined it for us as we booked an extra day in Greece to do this.

Our driver went above and beyond to give us a great tour stopping for some pictures and was very informative. The vehicle was clean and comfortable.

It was a lovely experience. Stathis went out of his way to take care of my dad as he couldn’t bear the heat and was feeling too dizzy. He brought juices etc and kept the van cool for my dad while we all went out on the tour. The van was clean and super comfortable. Stathis was extremely knowledgeable and kind.

We were picked up at the airport by Demitrios...even after our flight was delayed for an hour......his English was perfect and he gave us a running commentary as we drove into Athens....cannot compliment him enough, he is a credit to the company.

On May 5th, I booked a private transfer for a client from the airport to their Athens hotel for their June 10th arrival. One hour before their scheduled arrival in Athens, I received an email from Welcome Pickups telling me the ride had been canceled. No other information was provided. I had to call them to find out what was going on. I was told it was due to the taxi driver strike happening that day. They said they dispatched a driver, but he could not get through. I believe this was a lie. I was able to book a different company for a private driver to pick my client up, and they got through and picked her up with no issues. The cost for the rebooked ride was 4x what the rate paid to Welcome Pickups was. If it was truly due to the strike, they could have canceled more than an hour before her evening arrival. I suspect they saw an opportunity to charge higher rates to other people who had no transport, so they canceled my lower-priced booking in favor of other higher priced bookings. If the replacement driver I hired could get through, their driver could have as well. I will never use them for personal travel or clients again.

I booked Welcome in April for a transfer from Athens airport to my hotel. I received immediate confirmation and follow up emails until the day before our arrival on June 11. On arriving at the airport I received a message from Welcome that no driver was available so they cancelled. This was extremely inconvenient and disappointing. Won’t try to use them again due to their unreliability.

Booked my airport transfer through Welcome Pickups in Athens. Very good trip and friendly drivers. Price is reasonable too. Ive heard Greek taxi drivers could be notorious for overcharging. Welcome Pickups offer a fixed price and is comparable to the regular taxi stand at the airport if not less but provide better service and fixed price through advanced booking via their website or app. Drivers can contact you via whatsapp which is a great help to find each other but they can also meet you at th arrival lobby. I noticed drivers and cars seem to vary from, some are taxi services, some are private transfers but under Welcome Pickups they provide the same standard service. Cars are clean, some offer a bottle of water and most impt, drivers practice safe driving. They are also on time both times I used them.

Brilliant service, kept up to date. Informed of driver and when changed, driver was waiting for in arrivals, very friendly and polite. Coming home the driver was early, again very nice and friendly, would use again. Thank you

Hey y'all hey! 8 of us travelled to Greece to celebrate my sisters 30th birthday (February 2025). We originally scheduled 1 airport pick up with Welcome Pickups. I wanted to make sure things went smoothly before scheduling any more trips. We ended up using them throughout our entire week long stay in Greece. We also requested the same driver, Kostas, to pick us up and drop us off all over the Athens area. He even arranged to get us luxury transportation on the night of my sisters birthday dinner so that we could show up in style. Kostas provided us with an unofficial tour as we drove past popular tourist sites. He recommended good places to dine, was quite knowledgeable, always on time and professional. I highly recommend this transportation company.
