By far, the most fascinating tour I have ever taken. Lampros was engaging, knowledgeable, and passionate about philosophy, history and psychology. I have always regretted not studying philosophy. After this tour, I am conversant about the great Greek philosophers and their ideas. I am also confident that I can and will continue to learn more about Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, Epicurius, and the Stoics. Lampros also shared the deep connection of philosophy and psychology. The tour flew by. There were also many breaks in the shade, to watch entertaining, educational videos, and chat. Lampros was as interested in our ideas, as he was in sharing his knowledge. Very Socratic! I can’t recommend this tour highly enough!
I had a 1-on-1 tour with Lampros. It was a 10/10! I learned all about the sites in Athens, from the Prison of Socrates to the first meteorological station in the world. I am not going to describe each aspect of the tour, you need to go for yourself. Especially meaningful was when I sat on a rock that Plato was known to sit and think on, overlooking the Agora, or when I stood at the podium where citizens stated their case in front of thousands. For a philosopher visiting Greece, this was exactly what I had hoped it would be. Lampros exudes the spirit of a philosopher in the best way. He hopes, like I do, that more people open themselves up to reflection, thinking, and learning. I could not recommend this more.
Thoughtful overview of the key Greek philosophers. Although the tour provides only a brief orientation to material that could take years to study, we found it useful to learn something about the philosophers who lived and used the famous archaeological sites in Athens .
I highly recommend this tour to get an overview of great ideas that started in Athens. A lot of information was provided in a very interesting and accessible way.
I joined the philosophical walking tour in Athens led by Lampros and it became one of the most thought-provoking experiences of my trip. As we walked the paths once taken by Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle, our conversations about ancient wisdom naturally led to reflections on AI and the future of human reasoning. Lampros has a wonderful way of connecting timeless philosophical questions with today’s technological world. If you ever visit Athens, I highly recommend this tour. It’s a unique blend of history and reflection about the future of humanity and AI.
A wonderful tour that was engaging and thought-provoking. Lampros, our tour guide, was friendly and inspired. A lovely little jaunt through time and the human mind.
This wasn’t just a history lesson; it was a journey inward. We explored how reason, reflection, and awareness—core philosophical principles—can align with the tools of psychology to help us better understand and heal the self. By the end, I felt both intellectually enriched and emotionally renewed.
So fun, and learned so much! He is so highly intelligent with Philosophy and so calm and explains things in every day terms in English!
Great insights on the different schools of philosophy while “being there”… walking the same paths as Socrates, Platon and Aristotle's made our visit to Athens feel special. Time elapsed too quickly…
Great experience with our knowledgeable and very pleasent guide. It was a lot of fun and we learned a lot.
Our guide was fantastic , super friendly and knowledgeable. He shared the ideas of Ancient Greek philosophy and integrated this with showing us the symbolic sites and places .
Meeting Lampros, our guide, was easy as he shared his location with me in WhatsApp. He ensured our comfort at all times in the heat, chosing shady spots to impart information to us. The tour was really enjoyable & showed the importance of free thinking and the development of ideas. I shall certainly be trying to apply some of what I've learned in everyday life. I'd absolutely recommend it.
Our guide was so knowledgeable and patient. He genuinely enjoyed me asking questions. To see Socrates prison was a bucket list moment! It was the perfect amount of time too. Just when my brain was about to be fried from learning and inquiring; picking his brain as he picked mine, we were done.
This is an exceptional know yourself philosophical tour conducted by Lampros.. It's essence lies in the fact it captures the heart of what Athens stood for.the birthplace of philosophy, individual reflection, stoic and socratic thinking. Lampros goes above and beyond to take you through a journeying of the self and also a journey of the old souls like Socrates, Plato, Aristotle and the likes, their lives and their influence on Greek culture, the world n psychology and philosophy. Chuck the instagram friendly pics. Take the real deal!!
We recently enjoyed a Private Philosophical Tour in Athens, and it was easily one of the most memorable experiences of our entire visit. Our guide, Lampros, was outstanding — his depth of knowledge and genuine passion for philosophy made every moment fascinating. This tour wasn’t just about sightseeing; it was an inspiring journey into the heart of philosophy and the spirit of Athens itself!
Lampros was a great and very attentive guide that walked us through the beginnings of our modern philosophical ideas. I wasn’t feeling very well, but he made sure I was comfortable throughout the tour. It was a wonderful introduction to our Athens visit. I highly recommend you go on this tour. However, I do wish we spent less time watching videos (for example, The Allegory of the Cave could be explained by the guide rather than the School of Life video, I think, as it is not a very complicated concept to grasp) and more time diving deeper in discussion with the group and guide (if possible). Philosophy, after all, is a dialogue between people (but that’s just my personal opinion). I thoroughly enjoyed this and would absolutely do it again. My group was really great, though I wish we could have talked and explored each other’s ideas.
A must-do for all in Athens. Lampros (the guide) is very knowledgeable and passionate. The tours are both inspiring and educational.
It was very informative and interesting! Lampros was an excellent guide and was kind and thoughtful.
We had the pleasure of taking a Private Philosophical Tour in Athens, and it was truly a highlight of our trip. Our guide, Lampros, was exceptional — deeply knowledgeable, passionate, and engaging throughout the entire tour. He brought ancient philosophy to life as we walked in the footsteps of Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle. Lampros didn't just share historical facts; he connected us with the spirit of ancient Athens, weaving in the wisdom of Stoic thinkers like Seneca and Marcus Aurelius in a way that felt both relevant and inspiring. He took us to places we never would have discovered on our own — quiet corners of the Acropolis slopes rich in history and meaning. This wasn’t just a tour; it was a journey through ideas that still shape our world today. Highly recommended for anyone interested in philosophy, history, or simply looking to experience Athens on a deeper level.
I have attended many historical and city walking tours over the last 6 months, however none compare to this philosophy walking tour of Athens with Lampros. This is truly one of the best tours I’ve ever had the privilege of joining. I recommend it is the first thing you do as it will give you a greater appreciation for the sites of Athens and the contributions the Ancient Greeks have made to western civilisation. We were three people my son who is 17, my husband and myself. Lampros is so warm, engaging and knowledgeable. He really meets you at your level and we all enjoyed it equally. The tour was incredibly organised and well paced. It didn’t feel rushed at all but we covered so much content and we visited so many sites in our time together. We took the tour in May and the weather was perfect, however even if booking in summer there are regular breaks and Lampros chooses wonderful shady spots to sit and chat and watch short videos to emphasise and really cement the concepts we have discussed. So much is really added to the experience by standing and sitting and walking in the actual footsteps of the greatest philosophers who ever lived. It was so moving! I have done a few philosophy subjects in University many years ago and am inspired to take It up again as a regular practice as it can really help us to zoom out and consider the bigger picture. I don't want to give too much away! (As an aside Lampros also gave us the great tips for rooftop bars and things to do in Athens like the open air cinema. We took his advice and went to one of his top tips and had the most delicious lunch straight after the tour...ask him about the place with the meatballs ;-) We did the tour on our last day and we did not have enough time to visit many more of his recommended local places so do this trip as soon as you practicably can on arriving is my advice!)
I am glad that I chose this trip in Athens. It is the most interesting trip I have ever encountered. Lampros took us to walk in the most charming streets and monuments in Athens, and told us the stories of ancient Greek philosophers and many other interesting histories, including many psychology stories, which inspired our thinking. Lampros was also very kind to help our children in wheelchairs along the way. My advice is that you must not miss Lampros's course in Athens, the hometown of philosophy.
Lampros was an amazing guide for this tour. He is a professional who is highly educated in Philosophy and Psychology and is passionate about how all these theories and beliefs tie into Athens. Along the way, he also stops to show other monuments and prominent statues that are relevant to ancient Athens. He connected with us on a personal level, learning our interests and having open discussion. The entire tour was incredibly insightful and with beautiful views. 10/10 recommend!
Had a great time! The tour was very informative and the views were terrific. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in philosophy.
My son said "This is the best store I've ever been on, by far!". Lampros was amazing. He showed us all these incredible sites and explained to us their significance so well. He was a fountain of information for those of us in the group that knew a lot about philosophy and also for those of us in the group that didn't know much. It was absolutely the most perfect tour. We highly recommend!
Lampros was an excellent guide. Very informative, ineractive tour that not only explored the philosophy of ancient Greece but also the history of the many monuments we walked by. Would gladly join this tour again to learn more and continue the conversation with Lampros!
I had a wonderful time on my philosophical tour I took with Lampros. He gave interesting explanations of the places we were seeing while tying together a succinct history of the philosophical schools developed in Greece. I learned some fascinating facts while enjoying the sights and sounds of the area. He was also very considerate and thoughtful; checking in with me about my need for breaks, refreshment, bathroom, etc. I couldn't recommend him more and have told all my friends about him.
This private philosophical tour in Athens was simply unforgettable! Our guide Lambros made this experience truly special. Not only was he incredibly friendly, but he was also a true expert with an impressive knowledge of ancient philosophy and history. What stood out most about Lambros was how clearly and effortlessly he explained even the most complex philosophical concepts. He managed to captivate us with his storytelling, and we were completely enchanted by his descriptions. Whether we were standing at the Agora or visiting the Pnyx, Lambros brought these places to life with his deep insights and vivid explanations. The tour was perfectly organized, with just the right pace to fully enjoy the atmosphere of each location while diving into the world of Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle. Lambros took the time to answer all our questions and ensured that we felt comfortable and engaged throughout the experience. If you want to experience Athens from a truly unique perspective, this tour is an absolute must. It combines history, philosophy, and culture in the most wonderful way. A huge thank you to Lambros for this one-of-a-kind experience – it will remain in our memories forever! I hope this captures the spirit of your experience!
This is an excellent way to catch the spirituallity of Athens and to discover also the archelogical sites around Acropolis at the same time. There is so much wisdom at the places we have visited. This unique experience can show you the recipe of shelf knowledge with very specific steps. The path is different to every philosophical approach but the result is alaways CALM and EUDAIMONIA (blissful). This tour is useful to all people who they believe at the personal development prosess
Lampros is a breath of fresh air. He is passionate, genuine, and caring. He has done the work to educate the masses about the plethora of philosophers who have impacted the world. I would recommend this tour for anyone who wants to become a person.
Lampros was very nice since the beginning (even though we were a bit late) and showed us places that you may not even notice while walking on your own around Athens. The deepness of the explanations will vary depending on how interested in the subject you are, but it is worth it to ask him everything you may know to end up having meaningful conversations about stoicism, the myth of the Cave or epicureism. There was also good audiovisual content that helped us get some extra information!
I had a very personalised tour of the history of Athens. I was captivated with Lampros’ ideas of philosophy and psychology through his incredible storytelling, usage of videos to describe the philosophical ideas and making our way to important landmarks by foot. It has made me want to learn more about the subject. I would highly recommend!
That was an amazing experience. We had been informed for all the archeological sites and also we had the receipe of happiness of Soctates Plato Aristotle Epicurus at the places theories were born. This tour may help you to find your best version
Great experience! Lambros really knows the subject and offered us a spiritual journey using the surroundings (Athens historic center) and ancient Greek philosophical theories/movements.
I recently had the pleasure of taking the Athens city center tour with Labros and it was truly a remarkable experience. Labros was an incredibly friendly and informed tour guide, who not only showed us the key sights of Athens, but also provided a philosophical perspective on happiness through the eyes of the greatest philosophers. His passion for the history and culture of Athens was evident in the way he conducted the tour, making it both informative and enjoyable. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to get a deeper understanding of Athens and the Greek philosophy of happiness. Labros is a true gem in the world of tour guides and made my experience in Athens all the more memorable.
Whether you are a professional philosopher or an amateur, this guided tour is a special experience: a journey through the cradle of philosophy that Lampros enhances even more with his passion and expertise. It revolutionizes your mind and soul. 100% recommended for both experts and amateurs.
