Our first stop at the narrowing between mainland Greece and the Peloponnese is at the impressive Corinth canal. Finished in 1893 and one of the wonders of its time, learn all about its many interesting ill-fated and varied Histories, from ancient times to the present as you view the gentle flotillas of yachts traversing beneath its plunging cliff line.
After crossing into the Peloponnese, our first main stop explores the beautifully preserved remains of Ancient Corinth, one of Greece’s most powerful and influential city-states of Antiquity. Stroll through its streets, temples, markets, and fountains in the footsteps of the Classical Greeks, Ancient Romans & St. Paul before you. Refreshments & rest stops are also on hand at the local Cafes at its entrance if needed.
A small Museum in the Archaeological site with a limited but interesting collection of artifacts from the site.
Next we come to the imposing remains of Ancient Mycenae, one of the most important sites in the development of Ancient Greece. Not only central to the ‘Mycenaean period, from 1600 to 1100 BC which formed the first major widespread civilization in Europe at the time, but also home to the palace of the legendary Agamemnon, leader of the Greeks during the Trojan War. Passing through the 20-meter wide city walls, entering through the gigantic lion's gate and exploring Agamemnon’s throne room and associated Toombs of the site with their huge construction is an amazing experience. Excavations of its various Toombs to date have uncovered over 15Kg of gold and other famous & priceless treasures, many of which you will see in its modern on-site museum including Agamemnon's death mask.
The Museum is locaed within the main Archaeological site and we recommend visiting this first before exploring the main site becasue it provides very nice background information as well as many unique exhibits which help bring the life & times of the Ancient Myceneans to life.
Time for lunch after the activities of the morning, we arrive at one of the most beautiful towns in Greece, the historic port city of Nafplio by the sea. Nafplion has a definite artistic feel with enchanting narrow streets of Neoclassic & Venetian architecture, upmarket local craft & clothes shops. Its seafront is packed with cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes with views to the Venetian castle of Bourtzi in the bay. Time to wander its pretty streets, pick up a souvenir, or just relax over lunch.
The ruins of the Ancient Sanctuary of Asklepios form a part of the same site of the Ancient Theatre. At the end of your day, you can relax and recharge in comfort as your driver returns you safely back to your Hotel or other destination.
After lunch we visit the UNESCO-listed Sanctuary of Asklepios, first healing centre of the Ancient World and where you will also find the impressive Theatre of Epidaurus, one of the most visited ancient sites in Greece. The temple and theatre date from the 4th century and feature masterpieces of classical Greek architecture. Join the other visitors who test its world-famous acoustics with a poem or a song before your return !
A small but focused Museum within the main Archaeological site containing many fascinating finds including written tablets describing the healing performed at the Asclepious which is an amazing insight into the main activity of this site thousands of years before.

We had a wonderful day touring many beautiful, historical sites. Our guide tailored our trip to our needs, especially since we had been to the Athens Acropolis the day before, so we were a bit tired. He was very knowledgeable and kind.
We had a wonderful day exploring with our very knowledgeable and kind guide. We saw everything we wanted and more! For older travelers, I would not do this tour the day after you go to the Athens Acropolis, since they both involve quite a bit of uphill walking. Our guide tailored our tour based on our needs. He was extremely flexible.
Our driver (Andreas) was cordial yet professional--and a skilled driver (which is a huge compliment for Greece, where drivers are insane). We look a whole day tour, but wanted considerable flexibility in our itinerary (some sites were more important to us than others), and we needed to be back to our cruise ship at a certain time. Andreas was entirely accommodating, and very creative in his improvisations. We should also mention that the restaurant included in the package was excellent--not a tourist trap, but a real authentic Greek "neighborhood" sort of place. Although Andreas was, officially, "just" a driver, he was quite knowledgeable & articulate; I don't know if a licensed guide would have been much better. We learned a great deal about Greece during our day-long tour. Skip the huge crowds on economical tours, and hire a driver!

Our group of four took a day trip from Athens to see the Corinth Canal, Mycenae, Nafplio, and Epidaurus. Our driver Peter adapted the itinerary to meet our needs, and we saw so many wonderful historical sites. Peter was friendly and knowledgeable, which made the day even more enjoyable. We ended our day at the beautiful mosaic outside the Church of St Paul in Ancient Corinth... stunning! Highly recommend!

We had the best time on our private day tour to Corinth, Nafpilo, Mycenae, and Epidaurus. Our driver, Giannis, was INCREDIBLE! We learned so much from him throughout each location on the drive, as well as connecting the history back to modern Greece. He was a great tour guide, great driver, and paced out the day very well. The different sites allowed us to admire the ancient ruins, get wonderful pictures, and learn a lot as well! Even our lunch was delicious, and it was a great time to sit and relax mid-day before we continued our adventure. Excellent way to end our Greece vacation. Pickup at the cruise terminal for a day exploring the Peloponnese. The ruins at Mycenae were awe inspiring and our driver recommended a very fine seafood restaurant in Naupflion, a town I would come back to. Finished our day with a wine tasting in Nemea. Our driver/guide Val was informative and entertaining, and as a former taxi driver in Athens was able to navigate the afternoon traffic with no problem.
We enjoyed our private tour, which was made especially nice by our driver, Vasilis. His excellent driving skills negotiating the fierce traffic in Athens made us feel safe as we left the city. He was friendly and warm from the moment he picked us up at our hotel, to the very end of the day when he returned us to our starting point. Throughout the long day he made sure we were properly hydrated and entertained. Vasilis filled in valuable details of ancient history as we drove and selected well chosen sight-lines and overlooks to best appreciate the terrain and surrounding archeology in the Peloponnese, he also made an excellent recommendation for where to have lunch in Nafplio. He was a wonderful host and a nice person to share our day with.
Michael is an amazing driver. He gave us a lot of useful information and drove safe and efficiently, giving us time to see everything. He also speaks a very good English and we had an interesting conversation during the trip, which was also amazing. I totally recommend this trip, specially to see the Corinth ruins, with its roman road, and the Epidaurus theater, which is mind blowing.
First of all, shout out to our EXCELLENT tour guide, Dem! He was so knowledgeable and made this tour over the top for us! My husband was in heaven just talking with Dem about Greek history (as he studied this is school). Whether you are a Greek history buff or not, this was a great way to spend a day outside of Athens and immerse yourself in the history of the Peloponnese in Corinth, Mycenae, Nafplio and Epidaurus. We started by stopping at the Corinth Canal for pics and then to visit the Archeological Museum of ancient Corinth. From there we made our way to the archeological sites of Mycenae. Afterwards, we headed to enjoy a wonderful late lunch (we like to call “Linner”) in Nafplio and a little time to walk around and this relaxing seaside town. Lastly, we headed to the ancient theatre of Epidaurus. Amazing they still do events at this massive theatre! At this point, sit back and relax for a couple hour drive back to Athens (or chat up Dem for more Greek history if you’re my hubby). Excellent tour, tour guide and tour company! Just book it!

From the pickup at our hotel to drop off, this was a 5 star tour. Demos was so knowledgeable and kind. We had the best time. We added the Olive Oil tat sting to our tour and highly recommend adding. The beehive at Mycenae was amazing. Corinth Canal, beautiful Nafplio and the acoustics at Epidaurus. Just an all around wonderful tour.

This was by far one of the best tours we have ever taken. Yannas our driver, and Thenia Iliou our Licensed tourist guide were absolutely the best. We were picked up at 7:30 a.m. and spent a 12 hour day with stops to all the highlights, with Thenia providing comprehensive historical and geographical information (honestly we thought she was a professor) about all the Peloponnese sites. Yannas stopped wherever we wanted to take photos and our Authentic Greek lunch in Nafplio was marvellous! We would highly recommend this tour and Warm Peguin tours to anyone visiting Athens and looking for the best tours of the Peloponnese and other mainland tours. We will be using them again next visit to Athens.
We recently had a wonderful tour with Mario. He made our tour to ancient sites in Greece terrific. Our timing was always ahead of the big buses. Mario was a great driver and extremely knowledgeable of the sites and history itself. Even though he is not an official guide of the sites he gave us plenty of information that along with what we knew was just perfect. Lunch was beautiful and tasty swordfish. Just lovely. We had a fantastic trip - our driver Yannis was exactly what we wanted. He was very knowledgable and told us all about the sights and history of the areas and places we visited. He also told us about what life was like in Greece, so we got a great background as well. If we could give this tour more than five stars, we would, as it ranks among our family’s most memorable experiences during a two-week trip to Greece. Over 12 hours, we took a fascinating trip back into time with stops that highlighted crucial points of Greek and world history. Each location provided a unique take on the region. The tour was a huge hit with our family thanks to the expertise of our driver and guide, Vassili. He was attentive, patient and great company during a day of driving from site to site through the Peloponnese. At each point, he gave us an in-depth preview of the locale with thoughtful perspective on the historical context. Vassili made sure to engage our sons, ages 16 and 11, throughout the tour, making sure they were keeping pace. We can’t recommend this tour enough and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Absolutely perfect !! Mario was a knowledgeable guide and his commentary about the sights, with perspective on life in Greece today was everything we could have asked for in a guide. Beyond being a safe driver, he responded immediately to our request to add time at some locations and to eliminate a stop. And he made a suggestion about the itinerary that was helpful and allowed us to get a quick feel for a site we would have skipped. We have gone on tours, and also had private guides on occasion in other locations and in Athens. This company was by far, the best.
