Andreas was excellent. Kind, courteous and very helpful. We even squeezed in an olive oil tasting and a wine tasting. What a great day thank you you guys. You’re truly a wonderful tour guide.

Had a great time with our family. Would recommend to others who are interested in a completely customizable private tour!
Our stop in Katakolo and Olympia was the perfect ending to our Greek cruise! From the communication before the tour to the experience itself, everything was exceptional. Andrew was an outstanding guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and able to answer every question we had. Hercules got us everywhere safely, and the air-conditioned Mercedes van was a welcome relief on a 100-degree day. We explored the ancient Olympic ruins and museum, enjoyed delicious wine, cheese, and jam at Drouva Winery, and stopped at The Olive Temple, where we sampled some amazing olive oils. Andrew also recommended lunch at Poso Café just outside Olympic Village. The gyros were delicious, and the portions were huge! Throughout the day, Andrew made sure everyone's needs were met and was happy to adjust the itinerary. We had originally planned to visit the beach, but because of the extreme heat, we changed our minds, and the flexibility was greatly appreciated. This tour is second to none! I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Katakolo and Olympia. Thank you, Andrew and Hercules, for making our day so memorable. It was the perfect way to end our cruise! —Laura
We had an excellent experience with our tour guide and driver. the tour guide was very knowledgeable and she even had laminated pictures for us to understand what we were seeing in Olympia. She explained things well and was very personable. We highly recommend this tour company. One suggestion is to have an over the head microphone so that audio can be clear while presenting the information. Excellent experience so thank you so much for making this day special for our family.
My family of 14 had a lovely time in Olympia! Everyone was pleasantly happy with the stop at Klio's Honey Farm and even the short time to spend at the beach. The Olympic ruins were interesting but so vast that we didn't take the time to see everything, especially since it was sooo HOT! Our tour escort Anastasia was wonderful! She helped us to avoid the crowds at the museum and was very communicative and accommodating. She was also very patient with us since we had a couple elderly grandmas who moved about slowly. Highly recommend!
Olympia was our first private tour with Viator so we didn't know what to expect, as it turns out we had nothing to fear. Charis our guide of the area was so helpful and attentive and the guide he arranged for the tour of the ruins was an actual archaeologist!
This was a great experience. My wife and I took our family (9 people in total). We highly recommend it. I really didn’t know what to expect at the honey bee farm, but we really enjoyed the visit there. Going to the Olympia museum and ruins was great. We were able to stand at the site where the Olympic torch is lit for each of the games. Nancy, our guide, was amazing. She did a wonderful job. This was genuinely a private tour. Our driver and guide were very accommodating to our unique group and timeline. They picked us up and dropped us off at the port where our ship was docked. I would recommend having a licensed tour guide (which was offered and arranged by the company for an additional 120 euros) to accompany your group inside the Olympia archaeological site. This tour was a wonderful experience.
Great tour with amazing places to visit! Olympia was epic! Recommend a professional guide, very good! The honey farm was beautiful, fun, and delicious! Love the family feel and authenticity! Beach was beautiful and a great way to end the day!
Nothing could have been better than the tour Andreas customized for our group. Maybe the best part was how he sequenced the stops to avoid the crowds. This really matters! He is friendly, reliable, answers all questions, and became a friend by the end of our tour. My favorite takeaway was hearing about his family history of making olive oil. He kindly picked up small samples for us from his home on our way back to the shipl Great olive oil!
Our driver is very much accommodating and we enjoyed our tour! The weather was nice too! Our family and friends enjoyed this tour a lot!
Had a very nice time. Olympia is a must see site. The tour of the honey farm was very interesting, and the owner couldn't have been nicer. Had a drink at a nice restaurant overlooking the sea. Van was comfortable and guide was friendly.
We took a minibus from our cruise ship to the Olympic ruins and then to Klio’s Honey Farm. The driver and guide were very friendly and accommodating of the young children in our group. The minibus had plenty of room for the 11 of us, was very comfortable, and in excellent condition. The value was far superior than booking through the cruise line. I would highly recommend
Our half day tour in Olympia was fabulous, Our tour guide Charis gave us lots of information on the area, and after walking around Olympia we stopped at Klio’s honey farm- a must do! It was so fascinating to learn about the bees and ancient processes that are still in use today. Next, we stopped at a local restaurant to grab a gyros, yum! It was hot out so we decided to head back to the cruise ship. If you’re on a cruise, the town of Katakolo looks quaint and had a lot of shops to walk around. Otherwise a half day was the perfect amount of time for our group to see Olympia, the honey farm, and grab a local Greek meal.
We were told there would be no guide just driver. We had both and were delighted with the tour. We had a group of 31 and they particularly loved the honey farm- go figure. It was a good time
The ancient Olympic ruins and museum is not to be missed. Our guide. Andrew was the absolute best! Born and raised on the island, his knowledge and good nature made our tour priceless. He even finalized our tour by making a stop at his favorite local seaside restaurant so we could enjoy a lovely lunch. I’d highly recommend this tour and a bonus that it is accessible.
Tina was great! Totally customized the trip for our group of 6. The olive press visit was interesting and the tasting was awesome.
We had an amazing time at Olympia, visiting the museum and the ruins. A must do. We had a great time at the honey farm. Really recommend. Our tour guide was really nice and brought is to a great seafood restaurant near the beach. The food amazing of course!
Our tour guide was so-so. Not much to see in Olympia. The one good thing about having a private tour is that you dont feel rushed at all. Missed the museum because of miscommunication from our guide.
Our guide Constatina was excellent. We had a great time with her. She was an unexpected treasure who was informative, caring and shepherd us around like she was doing it for family.
Tour went really well. Katherine was nice. Mini bus was really nice I really liked the combination of activities. Honey tour in particular. Seaside Cafe was an excellent choice.
Our guide was great. She was very knowledgeable about the area and was great with my overheated kids. Although seeing ancient Olympia was amazing we loved going to Klio's honey farm. It was very cool seeing this farm ran after many generations. My daughter was basically drinking the honey. Such a cool experience.
This is a fantastic tour that includes the Greek history, nature and a beautiful beach. Our family (ages 22 to 80) had an amazing time. Harris is the BEST tour guide we’ve ever had. He is personable, fun and truly cares about people. The Olympia ruins and museum were very interesting. Klio’s Honey Farm was really nice. They served everyone coffee, juice, water and wafers with honey. We bought Klio’s honey wax cream. It’s a moisturizing antiseptic. It has healing properties because it’s helping my mom’s psoriasis! The beach location was beautiful and had a restaurant and bar. Finally, we want to give a special thanks to Harris for going above and beyond to help our family. We needed to go to the Health Center and pharmacy. Harris took us there and served as an interpreter. We got our dad the medication, which literary saved our vacation. We will always be incredibly grateful.
Our family had an absolutely wonderful time. Harris was the best! After our tour he took us to a family restaurant to try some delicious Grecian dishes. Thank you for a wonderful day!!
We were a party of 6 and booked the minivan with driver and guide. The trip was as advertised with a visit to Olympia and we had the option to visit a honey farm or other locations if we preferred. The guide did not accompany us into Olympia and suggested we just spend about 30 minutes walking the site (she did provide us with an illustrated book but I think having an audio guide would have been better to really understand what we were looking at). We opted to go to the honey farm which was an enjoyable local experience. Our guide then asked us what else we wanted to do, which we didn't know as we'd never been there and asked for recommendations, which were hard to come by. We asked about seeing a beach (for scenic purposes and maybe a quick dip in the water for our teen girls) and were driven to a hotel where we felt awkward and obligated to buy refreshments to access the beach. We didn't spend much time there and asked to be driven back to the port instead. In comparing this tour with driver/ guide combo to others we experienced in other cruise ports, I'd say the guide portion was lacking from an information perspective (we didn't learn much from the guide about the region and Olympia).
The entire day was as advertised and exceptional. It is nice to be shown around by true a local who can make you feel so welcomed into their region. Highly recommended!!
This trip is fantastic. Efi is a first class guide and was so kind, interesting and flexible for our party aged between 13 and 86! She even gave my Father a birthday present. We arrived early in Olympia to avoid the crowds and we were then taken to a beautiful beach with the beautiful azure sea and golden sands used by locals. Nearby was a lovely taverna where we enjoyed refreshing drinks. Nothing was too much trouble for our driver and guide - we just wished we could spend longer with them but we had to speed back to our ship. Highly recommended tour.
Touring with Andrew was one of cruise highlights! Such a pleasant man and funny folk we had so great time with him. Olympia was super great but at that day was extremely hot, but it's typical during the summertime. He offered us cold water and then off to Klio's farm to enjoy the thick shade under the trees and getting so much detailed information for the beekeeping process. Big thanks Andrew
Nikki and Palos were great. We enjoyed seeing the Olympic site as well as Klio’s honey farm- she and her family were so welcoming and hospitable- her honey is amazing! We also enjoyed a nice time at the beachside. They were flexible and accommodated our requests. Can’t believe how much we saw in that time. They were wonderful- thank you!
We joined a small group for a private, 5 hour tour of Olympia, which included a visit to a honey farm, before moving on to "taste traditional greek gyros dish". We were met on time by Andrew, who was a very pleasant man and who chatted easily with the group and we set off for the tour. When we arrived at Olympia, we were introduced to our tour guide for this part of the tour, who was very informative and tried to keep us in the shade when stopping to explain each part of the Olympia complex (it was an extremely hot day!) Once we had concluded the tour of Olympia and the adjoining museum, we were immediately taken to the nearby honey farm, where the owner gave us some water and coffee, which by this time, were really needed by all of us! She went through her explanation of how honey is produced and some of the group bought some of her products from the little onsite shop. Everyone was so hot and exhausted by then, we just voted to return to the ship and not bother with the "traditional greek gyros dish". According to the email that was sent round to all the participants of this tour: "The tour will be done with a new Mercedes Benz mini bus so that you all be together. There is also free WIFI. The payment can be done through credit card at the end of the tour." There was no WIFI available on the bus and neither was it possible for anyone to pay by credit card!! This caused extreme problems for certain members of the group from Canada, who didn't have the cash on them to pay for the tour and neither were they able to take money out from a bank ATM for technical reasons. As the WIFI on the ship was minimal, being told that it was available on a tour bus is always a bonus and allows people to catch up on their emails, etc., so to find that there was no WIFI either was really annoying and took the shine off the entire tour.
Great service, nice bus. Dora was flexible, knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended. We changed the plan in the middle, and Dora was great about it.
Andrew the owner was our tour guide yesterday and was amazing. My husband was in this business for many years in the US so I am picky. He welcomed us, was personable. Made sure we got the best treatment but not to pushy or overwhelming. I can’t wait to make something with my olive oil from his very own trees
We were a family group of 15 adults and kids who had a half day stop at Katakolon on a Cruise Ship. I arranged the tour in advance and we were met by Andrew and a clean and AC cooled minibus. We drove to Olympia with Andrew giving a knowledgeable commentary along the way. We were supplied with a guide book and spent a couple of hours at the site. We then had a choice of activities and choose to visit the beach. Andrew took us to a lovely beach cafe and we chilled out there for a lovely hour or so before returning to the boat. Our only regret was not bringing our swim suits with us ! I highly recommend Andrew and his team.,
I was looking for a reasonable 6 hour car service/tour from Katakolon cruise port to accommodate my immediate family of 7 (my husband, my senior parents, and my brother's family including an 8 year old). We wanted the flexibility because we all have different interests. I received immediate email response and booking was very easy! We just needed to provide our names so they can enter the cruise port for taxi pick up. Petra greeted us with a sign with my name and walked us over to George, our driver for the day. He is a true local (born and raised there) and was just the nicest guide with full of information. He was in no rush and truly accommodated us throughout the day. We started our tour at 9:30am, arrived to Olympia little after 10am. We spent ~2hours (outside exploring the ruins and inside the museum). We were able to communicate via Whatsapp but it wasn't really necessary because he was waiting for us in a timely manner and easy to spot. We wanted to visit Magna Grecia, the olive farm. He called to let them know, (I swear he knows everyone). We spent about 30mins. Everyone at Magna Grecia was very hospitable. Even thought we didn't do a tour there, they were happy to share information. Next we wanted to hit up a local lunch spot. George knew exactly what we wanted and took us to a small shop off the beach (we saw the cruise ship) where we were able to pick out the fish and seafood we wanted to eat. Best quality seafood we had on this trip! It's outside with a tent and some fans, so it can be a little hot. This is where George was able to really be flexible. My brother's family wanted to get dropped off early near the cruise port to have 2 hours of shopping but my parents wanted to go swimming at the beach. George dropped off my parents and us (my husband + 1) to St. Andres beach where it's through a resort, much more comfortable in terms of swimming and lounging. My husband and I ordered drinks and enjoyed the view while my parents swim. Then George dropped off my brother's family near the cruise port and returned to the resort to pick us up. He found more people he knew at the resort and talked to them too haha. He provided excellent conversation and information and did not rush us at all. We left the resort about 3:15pm and arrived at the cruise port by 3:30pm. We paid him in cash + tip. We still had about ~1 hour to shop before we needed to go back to the ship at 4:30pm. As we were shopping we totally spotted him talking to other locals. It was truly a wonderful day at Katakolo. He drove us through beautiful scenery and I didn't even notice crossing any of the giant tour buses. He knew his city really well and just have a wonderful personality! If you can recommend George, I would highly encourage it. Thank you Katakolo Taxi!
We were a party of ten, which included four teens, a four year old girl and two senior citizens. We visited in June, during a heat wave. We had a relatively long walk to the beautiful, nicely chilled van, which supplied us with much needed cool water bottles. While the driver did not really speak English, she did seen to understand it, the guide was fluent in English. They brought us to Olympia and introduced us to the booth, where we bought tickets. Even though it is stated that it will be a no-line ticket purchase, that only works with credit cards (which we had). Teens under 18 do not pay and students pay reduced rate, so bring your student IDs. The seniors and some of the teens were not interested in the ruins, but the museum was interesting to all. After our guide-free time in Olympia, we were taken to a nearby local honey farm, where we given samples of local pastries to dip in the farm-made honey and some local drink, made with carrots and oranges. The presentation about history and present bee keeping was interesting, including to our four year old girl, who got to be dressed as a bee keeper. We then bought some far made honey and beeswax based creams. As time was running out, we opted to go to a local recommended restaurant instead of beach time. We were brought back as close to the boat as possible, and the driver even bought a gift for our little girl!
For sure it’s worth the investment. We had only a few hours at Katakolon, as we were on a cruise, and our driver was already there when we disembarked from the ship. We went to the Olympia sites and then to a very nice beach. As it was too hot we choose to skip the farm part of the tour and go straight to the beach. Gina, a very nice lady, was along all the time explaining us about Greece and its history and helping us to buy tickets and get a spot at the beach. We were a group of nine, from 4 to 80 years old, and all of us had a blast. Oh, remember to bring beach shoes, as Greece beach are made of rocks.
We had an amazing time on this tour! We were treated so well by Stathopoulos Theocharis and our driver. They were very attentive to what we wanted to do and even took us to a lovely Greek restaurant, where we had a great, traditional Greek meal. The honey farm tour was very informative. It was so peaceful and beautiful there and a welcome change from the crowds in the tourist areas. At Olympia, we were given plenty of time to enjoy seeing the ruins. It was amazing to see where the Olympics originated in the 8th century BC. I highly recommend this tour! It was my favorite tour of our trip!
I cannot say much as it was really worth every dollar spent on this tour. The tour with this luxury mini bus was a very nice experience which the family and friends will remember. We were 18 persons and Andrew really organized it very well. He responded promptly to all the mail and the communication was the smoothest ever. He is really a man you can trust and made our time spent in olympia and Katakolon great. The mini bus was brand new, comfortable and clean and made it like a school excursion as it was really fun with all of us together in the same vehicle. Safe drive, on time to spots we needed and off we go for our Olympia exploration. On top of these we visited also some local spots like st Andrew beach and lunch to a non touristic restaurant. Thank you Andrew for the nice time spent with you and look forward to meeting you again in one of our future cruises. We can only recommend Andrew’s services!!
De bouwkunst van duizenden jaren geleden: geweldig! Zo ook de kunst in het museum! Onze chauffeur gaf een gids in boekvorm mee, waarin de ruïnes werden verklaard
We took the family (8 people) on a private 4-hour tour to Olympia and Honey Farm. The tour was perfectly organised by Andrew and his driver - we would definitely book the tour again. You arrive in Olympia in front of all cruise tourists and then have time to explore more of the area. Also Andrew was able to tell us a lot about the peninsula and its history, also he took us to a super Gyros restaurant :-) Andrew speaks perfect English and you can tell by his enthusiasm for the region. Communication and booking by email was also fast and straightforward. You can't book a better trip! Thank you Andrew
Booked this trip in advance because we visited Katakalon by cruise ship. However, due to the bad weather, the sequence of ports was adjusted so we arrived 3 days earlier. Via mail passed on our adjustment asking if this was a problem? No, I'm not. Andrew was at the appointed place at the appointed time (we were even a little early). This trip was just ideal for us 5 (with 1 child aged 8y). Olympia is just beautiful! A stadium that held 45,000 people? They don't even have them in Belgium now (with the exception of Heysel). Then we had time to shop some local and at the end of the trip we had some time to go to Katakalon itself to have a drink to end a nice day!
