We had a fabulous experience with Mando at the National Archeological Museum. She lead us on a chronological tour of Greek history punctuated by the truly remarkable highlights of the museum’s collection - some of which we would have missed without Mando’s guidance. We walked away with a much better understanding of how Greek culture and art evolved through the rise and fall and influence of multiple civilizations, and a new appreciation for the artifacts exhibited. Mando’s enthusiasm and love for the museum was infectious and charming. I had visited previously, but this time I was able to walk away with a much better appreciation and understanding of what I saw. Can’t recommend enough!!!

This was excellent and very informative. The kids learned a lot and saw a lot. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and patient with children. She communicated well with what we were seeing. It was something that you must see and do in Athens. All the history you get to see in one place in incredible.

This museum should not be seen with an audio guide or on your own The only way to confront 50 rooms is with a guide. Ours was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and friendly. Some of the history came to life.

We arrived early, and the guide was waiting for us. The tour was well laid out, visiting key items from this vary large museum in chronological order. The guide was very knowledgeable, with interesting information about each item we viewed, and the related history. Well paced tour. No one can see everything in this museum in a couple of hours, but this tour makes sure you see the historically important items, and the beautiful ones. Our tour was in English and the guide's English was excellent.

It's an overwhelming collection of artifacts so having someone help point out interesting trends in statues through history, notable finds, small details that we'd otherwise miss, and information about excavations.

Honestly, you should choose Vicki. Especially if you are from the US, Canada or the EU. English is her first language and she's very easy to understand. While in Greece and Turkey we found that the accents of some of our guides made it much harder to understand what they were saying. She is so knowledgeable,,, she was able to answer all of our questions. And there were a bunch. The very best part of our tour with her is that she gave us a very solid base for our understanding of the culture, and history of Greece. The resident historian on the Viking ship wasn't even half as good, if you need a comparison

After doing a small group tour of the Acropolis Museum, this private tour was much needed. Our guide was prompt, showed us the highlights of different parts of the museum and was a wealth of knowledge. If you’re on the fence about a private tour, just do it. Katerina gave a comprehensive history lesson but we didn’t stop & look at all the displays. We spent too much time at a few of the displays rather than walking & talking so we could get a good look at everything.

Very disappointed that our guide did not have our name and reservation for the booking. Therefore, we began 30 minutes late. The guide informed us that she had to cut our tour short since she had another booking elsewhere. It seems to me that for $300 euros we should have had a more complete tour. Victor/warm penguin is very disorganized and not professional.

This was an excellent tour for those wanting to tie all the exhibits together! My wife and I had been to the National Archeological Museum in Athens once before but spent only 40 minutes there. This museum is a MUST SEE if you are in Athens. Even if you are not a history buff, you will find it fascinating. Needless to say, we wanted more so we booked this tour for our last of 4 days in the city. Viator makes it very easy to book these tours and their trust in the different tour operators isn't unwarranted. Communication from Warmpenguin was great and our guide was right on time and super-enthusiastic to share the history of her country with us. What I especially liked was that she asked what we already knew and had seen so that she could tailor our experience. The Museum was exceptionally crowded due to cruise ship tours (we were told that they were closing the Acropolis due to extreme Summer heat) and our guide was very good at navigating the crowds so we had an optimal experience. I do recommend that you have the guide pre-purchase the skip the line tickets for a seamless, more exclusive experience. I would definitely recommend this tour company and the tour itself for future travelers!

Barbara and George were great tour guides and people-wranglers. We hit the ground running every day at 7:30am to get to locations before it got too hot. Barbara in particular was very knowledgeable about all of the sites we visited over three days. They both were very aware of the needs and concerns of their older clientele, making sure we had sufficient breaks on the long bus rides and providing options for those who were not up to walking for the whole tour, particularly in the hot weather. In addition, they arranged great lunches at local restaurants!

Jordon was incredibly knowledgeable. 2 hours is quite short for a museum of this size, but Jordon moved us through efficiently and thoughtfully so we could get the most out of the museum. We highly recommend going right when the museum opens, given how crowded the mauseum gets.
