Our 2 hour express Acropolis tour gave us the basics and was the perfect amount of information and mythological stories. Our guide was prompt, friendly and spoke english very well. We had plenty of time to take photos and ask questions. Our tour started at 8am and we had space up top to take photos without hoards of people in them. By 10 when our tour ended, people were streaming into the area. We did not do any of the museums because there were lines to get in.

We were so lucky to get Lydia as our guide! She knew so much, not a moment of boredom, entertained the entire way. Even other tour guides were coming up to us telling us she was one of the best and I believe it! The history was beautiful and striking!

The tour was fabulous! Our daughter loves Greek mythology so this tour was perfect. The content of the tour was so interesting and the knowledge base of our guide was incredible. The three hours flew - I don’t think any of us wanted it to end!!!

Vicky was so lovely, knowledgeable and engaging with our 2 boys (ages 7 and 10). We learned so much from her which very much enhanced our family’s experience at the amazing Acropolis. Highly recommend!

Our family of four, along with Grandma, had a wonderful private tour of the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum with Komissa. She was exceptional from start to finish. Komissa struck the perfect balance between being incredibly knowledgeable and keeping the experience engaging and approachable. She shared so much fascinating information about the sites and artifacts without ever overwhelming us with details. Her sense of humor and warm personality made the morning even more enjoyable. What impressed us most was her ability to tailor the experience to our group. She was equally skilled at supporting my mother, who has some mobility challenges, and keeping our two Greek mythology-loving boys (ages 11 and 13) completely engaged and excited throughout the tour. There was lots of trivia and quizzing - they had a blast! We highly recommend choosing the private tour option, especially during the busy summer season in Athens. Having a guide who knows how to navigate the crowds and personalize the experience made all the difference. Communication was excellent from the time we booked through the end of the tour. We have been around the world and done so many guided history tours but this one was really different. Our Marisa was extremely learned and knowledge and such a kind human. She wen on into the depths of the history and even discussed in depths of democracy and how we see history repeating in modern world from different aspects. She also proactively guided us to pose for pics at scenic locations and honestly took better pictures with our phones than any professional photographer. This was the best history tour we took ever. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Greece. We will come back again to Athens to do the democracy history tour with this company and Marisa.

Our family had an amazing morning touring the Acropolis and Parthenon with Vicky! She was so engaging, friendly, and relatable. Vicky is incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the Acropolis, Parthenon, Temple of Athena Nike, etc. She breathes life into the mythology surrounding the Greek Gods so much so that you feel like you lived back in the 5th century BC with the ancient Greeks! Our young adult kids were fascinated, wide-eyed, and glued to Vicki’s stories. She has a wonderful sense of humor. She also showed us around old town Athens and took us to the most wonderful restaurant to sample traditional, classic Greek cuisine. The spinach pie was a slice of heaven! Vicky is an expert in navigating the crowds and knew exactly where to have us pose for the best photos of all we saw. I texted a few friends back in the USA that they have to travel to Athens and do this tour with Vicki.

“Mike” was a great guide! We chose the mythology tour for something a bit different and he delivered. So many tales directly linked to the locations visited so it made it all the more memorable. We would recommend this tour for both history buffs as well as Percy Jackson and EPIC fans! All the legends came to life and Mike’s personal touch was much appreciated!

It was a great tour. Our tour guide Vicky was very knowledgeable and guided us through acropolis museum and temples. Without her, we would miss some historic landmarks and events and sculptures. I left a 5-star review with a note for future tourists. I booked a 3-hour guided tour including one hour museum. My experience was that the added one-hour acropolis museum time wasn’t enough for me. I had to go back to the museum myself again. For underground excavation museum, I had to spend another hour to know 1700 years of Athenian history and culture. It was amazing story. If anyone wanted to fully explore the acropolis museum, I would recommend spending at least 3 hour time there.

Our guide was amazing, warm, friendly, and brilliant! She was so much fun to speak with and tour the acropolis with. We had such a fun time with her beginning with mythology discussions at the arch of Hadrian, to life discussions on the way to the acropolis, to culture discussions through the plaka. Absolutely 10/10 in every way possible. The tour company was so incredibly flexible with us as we had another tour change last minute. Our tour with Christina was absolutely amazing. We had a full 2 hours in the Acropolis and we added on the 1 hour Ancient Agora option. We learned so much and Christina customized our tour based on what we expressed interest in while on the tour. She knew the best spots to take pictures and guided us around the crowds and sites with such ease. Christina is very personable and highly knowledgeable about all things Ancient Athens. We had one of the best private tours that’s we have done with Marisa. Her knowledge and passion of Greece, and her history and culture was infectious. Blending the mythology with historical fact, we learnt a lot and had fun. Her easy and relaxed approach as well kind offer to take photos of the two of us just made the experience. We traversed the slopes of the Acropolis and made it to the top, as well as covered the Ancient Agora. Would highly recommend the two sites together. All in all very well organised tour, with regular communication from the organisers.

I researched private tours of the Acropolis, Parthenon, and Acropolis Museum for a while, for my 16-year-old son and his friend. I couldn’t be happier with this experience I chose—especially thanks to our incredible guide, Lydia. The first thing that was most helpful is that the tour company was very communicative, touching base and even bought the tickets ahead of time so we could skip the line and go right in. In addition to that, Lydia was absolutely wonderful: knowledgeable, engaging, and full of warmth. She was a former teacher, and it showed in the best possible way. Lydia had a real gift for connecting with the boys—speaking to them on their level and asking thoughtful questions. They were genuinely excited about Greek history and mythology. It’s not easy to capture the attention of two teenagers, especially in the summer heat, but Lydia did just that. They came away from the tour talking about what they learned and wanting to know more, which says everything. This was more than just a sightseeing stop—it was an educational experience they'll actually remember. Amazing tour with Elina — We took the Acropolis & Slopes plus Agora tour, which was 3 hours and well worth it! Elina was very informative, answered all our questions and added a lot of color and context to the entire area. Before booking, I had a difficult time determining whether a private tour would be worth it and if it was best to book a tour guide ahead (or if there were guides available at the gates — there is not!) and I can confidently say both were necessary. We got so much more out of it having Elina guide us through the sites and it was well worth the cost. We also went in the late afternoon (15:30) and the sites were slightly less crowded and the heat was cooling off. The Acropolis & Slopes was the highlight — while the Agora was great, it wasn’t a necessity and makes for a long afternoon. This tour is unique in that it starts at the Arch of Hadrian & the Temple of Zeus, so we go a little extra history beyond the Acropolis and Agora. Overall, really awesome tour with great communication from the company leading up to the tour (e.g., they helped us determine which timed entry tickets to purchase for the Acropolis & Agora — in our experience, “skip the line” tickets were not necessary, the line moves quickly once they open the gates for your time slot), highly recommend!

We absolutely loved our one-on-one tour and our tour guide, Kelly. She was very informative and guided us on how mythology shaped religion and politics in Ancient Greece. We are storytellers in our day jobs in the U.S. so this was a perfect way to start our vacation in Greece! I especially loved seeing the ancient theatre at the base of the Acropolis where free speech, debate, and democracy were born!

While Athens and the rest of my trip in Greece were great, a start with this private tour was really perfect. The guide, Elena, was exceptional. Knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and impassioned. Kept us moving along (I opted for the extended tour - this is a must), stopping for my questions and photos. While you are touring, you see the larger groups and realize that springing for a private tour really is well worth it. I would not hesitate to do it again and will look for Warm Penguin tours wherever I travel.
