Terry was fantastic. We had our four month baby, myself and my husband. Very accommodating to sleep times and a wonderful experience. Will do more in the future.

Itinerary
This small Peloponese tour is a good opportunity to see several major site of the peninsula just in two days. Begining with a drive along the coast, you will get the chance to see some Greek seaside villages and the island of Salamis. Salamis is where the historical naval battle took place between the Athenians and the Persians. Our first stop of the day, the Corinth Canal. Eventually opened in 1892 separating the Peloponnese from the rest of Greece all the while connecting the Saronic Gulf to the Corinthian Sea. Having time to walk across on a pedestrian bridge and admire the canal closer, you may go bungee jumping on some days (if you’re game).
Archaeological and historical interest, Ancient Corinth is also one of the most popular religious destinations in Greece. It was here that the Apostle Paul preached Christianity, was judged by the tribunal in the Agora and established the best organized Christian church of the time.
The temple of Apollo at Corinth is one of the earliest Doric temples in the Peloponnese and the Greek mainland. Built around 560 B.C.E., of local monolithic limestone on top of an imposing, rocky hill to the north of Acrocorinth, the Archaic temple was an emblem for the Greek city of Corinth, reflecting its growth and prosperity.
We will visit the castle of Acrocorinth, the oldest and largest castle in southern Greece, for some amazing photos.
Dated to the 2nd millennium B.C.E. representing what Homer wrote about, Achilles, Agamemnon and Helen of Troy. The palace of Mycenae gave its name to a whole era.
In the site you will see the famous Lions Gate (the oldest architectural sculpture in Europe), the cyclopean walls, the burial circle A and the remains of Agamemnon’s Palace.
Within the site there is a modern museum, exhibiting the findings of the “City Of Gold” which is also worth visiting.
Just before leaving the site we will make a small stop at the treasury of Atreus, the best preserved Tholos tomb found and one of the finest examples of the Mycenaean architecture.
From here we will travel through time towards a more recent history of Greece and to the city of Nafplion. Nafplion is considered the most scenic city which also functioned as the capital of Greece until 1834. It offers you an impressive combination of fortresses and castles (Palamidi, Bourtzi), an enormous port opened to the Aegean Sea and the unique architecture of the old city of Nafplion revealing Venetian, neoclassical and oriental elements. Lunch will be at a traditional tavern by the sea.
We’ll drive up until the castle of Acronafplia for a panoramic view of Nafplio.
We will visit the site of Epidaurus. After just a short drive you will be able to visit one of the most important ancient sanctuaries dedicated to the God Asclepius, the god of healing and medicine, located in an ideal environment and spread over a hilly area.
Its highest point is the theater of Epidaurus. The best preserved ancient Greek theater dated 4th century B.C.E.It is proof of what fantastic miracles the ancient Greek minds could create. You can test the acoustics, great even today. Climb up until the upper seats just to close your eyes and dream you attended an ancient Greek tragedy.
We will grive back to Athens by the country road croosing picturesque villages and land scapes.

If you are fortunate to have Panos as your driver and guide to the Peleponnese, your experience will be delightful. We were able to see the sites at our own pace, and to rest in between in his comfortable car. We left Athens at 7:30 am, were back by 6:30 pm, and had seen all the major sites with time for a leisurely lunch in Napflio. All in all, a very memorable day.
After enjoying the 2 day tour of Meteora, Delphi and Thermopyles, so much with Terry as our driver, we decided to ask for Terry again and do this day tour. Once again the experience was superb. Terry gave us a complete overview of every site on the way which makes a huge difference in the overall enjoyment. The convenience of being picked up from our hotel and the flexibility in being able to stay a bit longer in preferred sites was great. Defintely recommend this tour and Terry as the driver.
This was a very full day that we enjoyed a lot. The highlight was the Lions Gate at the Mycenae fortress and the acoustics at the Theater of Epidaurus but we also enjoyed looking down at the canal of Corinth and the lobster dinner we ordered in the charming town of Napflio was an added bonus. Also the portion of the ride through mountainous and seaside terrain was very nice. Perhaps most importantly our guide Theodore could not have been more helpful and he was a fountain of knowledge. It’s a long trip but well worth it.
My wife and I added this tour on to our itinerary almost at the last minute but oh are we glad we did! 10 hours of amazing history and awesome sites! We are historians and it seemed like every turn of the private van we had was a new Greek City State we had read about in high school/college! Even though our driver was an archeology major in college, we opted to book an additional guide. He was a windfall of knowledge and really made the ruins we were seeing pop to life! This was NOT a 20 questions quiz to see what the Americans knew from school like others tours we have taken. Instead, it was a successful attempt to make us feel like we were actually in Mycanae, Corinth, and Epidauris! Our guide and expert driver knew where to take all the great pictures and often volunteered to take them for us! This was especially true in the beautiful city of Nafplio. We would truly recommend this tour to history and non-history buffs alike. Just explain what level of knowledge you are at and what you want to see and let your driver/guide do the rest. I can truly say that the 10 hours were very engaging and went by quickly! Great job Viator and Olive Sea Travel!
We were four adults of one family, and within minutes of setting of in the air conditioned 7-seater with driver and sometime guide, Kyriakos, we knew we’d made the right choice of a private tour, rather than join a coach tour! Kyriakos gave us the history of the major sites we visited, was flexible with timing (allowing more time when a site interested us and less when it didn’t), never left us waiting when we’d finished visiting a site, and was there with water and advice whenever needed. And his recommended restaurant for lunch was spot on.
The driver and tour guide were excellent. The sites were a different era than those in our Athens tour. A lit of time traveling between locations but well worth the effort.
Andreas was an incredible tour guide and driver -- super-enthused about his job, and such a "people person"! He regaled us with stories about Greek history and culture as he shuttled us between sights. Importantly, neither my wife nor I felt hurried during any of the visits to the historical sites, even though I'm known for taking my time and going very slowly when it comes to examining ruins and exhibits and text panels and that sort of thing. Really, the visits seemed to be timed just about right. Thanks again, Andreas, for a remarkable day!
This tour was amazing. Our driver, Nasos, was wonderful. His knowledge of the area was incredible. He went above and beyond to ensure we had the absolute best time. He was so good we requested him for our tour the next day. The sites were very impressive, and we learned a tremendous amount. Highly recommended this tour company and Nasos!
The driver was really interesting, talking a lot about the history of the country. Asking if we had questions. Magnificent visit to all the sites listed in the activity. All was perfect and on time.
We booked a this tour in April 2022 (I'm writing the review quite late, and the drop down won't let me select the appropriate date). I went as part of a group of friends/family (6 adults). We had an absolutely fantastic time on this day tour. The driver was prompt and picked us up from our accommodation as arranged. We saw all sights (as promised), and the driver was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to share insights about his beautiful country. The pacing of the tour was just right for us - more time in Nafplio might have been nice, but that's a pretty insignificant complaint, really. We would absolutely recommend this day trip - definitely an experience worth the money!
This was a great day trip with lots of stops. Our guide Socrates was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and always waiting for us. Definitely a must tour.
We had a memorable experience with the knowledgeable and very experienced guide Andreas who guided us with very excellent information and photos stops opportunity. We highly recommend Viator and especially Andreas.
Christos was an excellent driver and pointed out key sites for us, made recommendations for food and activities, and let us sleep during the longer drives. I highly recommend this trip!
This was absolutely our favorite tour during our stay. Nasos was EXCEPTIONAL! We are a family of 5 stayed in Athens for holiday vacation. We got the best history lesson of Greece. He was so knowledgeable and truly loves what he does. He even took us to some stops that were not on the tour. The kids picked oranges and he had them very engaged. He recommended a lovely lunch spot in Nafplion. I highly recommend this tour if you are in Greece!
We really enjoyed our trip. Our driver, George, was friendly, informative and accommodating to our needs and requests. We were able to be flexible with the amount of time we spent at each sight. George had water for us and gave us great suggestions for lunch. We highly recommend this tour and George! Thanks, George!
Such a wonderful trip with Socrates our fabulous driver and guide. The variety of sites we visited and overall pace of the trip was perfect. Socrates was extremely knowledgeable and we loved chatting to him in the car between sites. at each stop we had plenty of time to explore at our own pace, but Socrates was also very good at suggesting a sensible length of visit so that we kept on schedule without ever feeling under pressure. We loved Athens, but our day trip to explore the Pelopponese region was the highlight of our holiday.
We were very pleased with out all day tour that included pick up and return from our airbnb, the Corinth canal, Mycenae, Epidavros and Nafplio. Our driver Nasos was terrific- sharing information about his country as well as areas we visited. We had plenty of time to see the sites, and never felt rushed. Nasos also drove to a couple of secret gems for photos- which was great! Do not hesitate to book this tour!
Very knowledgeable, friendly guide. Fantastic sites well worth the drive from Athens. Greek hospitality that makes you want to come back for more.
Our guide & driver were friendly & accommodating. We spent a full day touring these fantastic ancient sites. Mycenae was beautiful & the additional history Martina shared really brought it to life. Our driver Evan was willing to stop so we could take pictures. It was our favorite day out of 10 days in Greece.
guide was amazing, well informed, taught us much. the cities were just stunning. nafplio a must see !
Our driver Dem was fantastic. The van was great. He was very patient when we took extra time. He even took us back a different way so we could touch the water near Corinth, where it’s believed that Paul would have launched from in departure from Corinth. I give this tour my highest recommendation.
I've been fascinated by Greek history and culture for many years, so had high expectations for my first trip to Greece in Aug 2020 (despite Covid concerns). I asked Olive Sea Travel to organise two day trips from Athens - one to Mycenae, Korinth and Nafplion, and another to Delphi. These were private tours for a small group of friends. The organisation and staff (and the experience) exceeded all expectations. In setting up the trip, response to emails was prompt and helpful. On the day, the staff were punctual, friendly, expert, and professional. Our guide was excellent. Vehicles were VIP class. I got quotes from a few companies before booking with Olive Sea Travel, so I know their prices are competitive. Very happy to recommend, and hope to do more tours with Olive Sea Travel in future.
Our driver, Dem, was wonderful! He picked us up (3 tourists and 1 student who has been in Athens for 2 months) at our AirB&B on time and had bottled water for us in the van. The van was very comfortable and perfect for the drive to the Peloponnese peninsula. He was very knowledgeable about the countryside, towns, historical sites, current Greek events, and easily answered all our questions. Dem told us about each site we went to before we got there and would give us his suggestion for time to spend at each, but waited for us no matter how long we took. Some we we took more time, some we took less. We never felt rushed and were able to spend the time we wanted instead of being herded in a big tour bus on someone else’s schedule. We wanted seafood for lunch and took us to a nice little restaurant right on the coast in Nafplio. We had a great day and he delivered us back to our starting spot about 11.5 hours later (there was a crash blocking a roadway back or probably would have been just under 11 hrs). . Absolutely worth the price for a private tour!
Had the same driver pick us up at the airport to the hotel and then on the final day take us to the cruise port. In between we had two days of private tours one to Epidaurus, Nafplio and Corinth and a drive by at Mycenae. The other day to Delphi. The guide gave us much information regarding all the places visited but did not go into the sites with us. He was very knowledgeable.
Our driver for the day was Dem. What a gem of a guy he is. Picked us up from our hotel on time and was a wealth of information about all the sights we visited throughout the day. Well worth the money to travel in luxury and comfort to all the Ancient Monuments we visited. A very enjoyable day as the scenery and landscape was beautiful. We were able to spend plenty of time at each stop and to wander around the monuments. Dem provided a very professional and friendly service. His knowledge about the Ancient Monument, Greek History and Mythology was second to none as was his knowledge of towns and villages along the route. I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants a great day out of Athens and should you be lucky enough to have Dem as your driver then I'm sure that your day will be awesome. Thank you very much Dem for a Brilliant Day Out.
A truly enjoyable and very informative day with Mike, thank you so much for ensuring the day itself was so good From the prompt pick up at 8am to being dropped off at 7 pm Mike ensured that everything went smoothly, his total professionalism in all that he did made the day for us. We were informed about our trip in the car with a video on the way highlighting what we would be seeing and some of the historical background At each venue we stopped at time was never an issue and Mike went out of his way to say the day was about what we wanted to do, and to stay as long as we liked. He was also able to add very good information about the history of Greece, current events and answered all of our questions as helpfully as he could All of the venues we visited were interesting and hard to leave, Would highly recommend this trip and many thanks Mike for making the day so memorable and informative for us
We used Olive Sea Travel for two trips: Delphi/Hosios Loukas and Corinth/Mycenae/Nafplion/Epidaurus. On both occasions, the transportation was immaculate, the drivers were friendly and knowledgeable without being opinionated, and driving skill was superb. The sites picked for the tours are more than you would see on a bus tour and the privacy of walking the sites on our own, at our own pace, was priceless. We weren't rushed and were encouraged to enjoy ourselves, which we did. We were picked up from our hotel and delivered once back to the hotel and once to the airport (for an additional charge, but the accommodation to our schedule was oh so appreciated). We would definitely recommend this service!!
