Guide Dimitris and driver Akis were excellent! Easy pick up, clear direction as to what to expect, share a lot of facts during the drive along the way. Gave us plenty of time to see each location. It was a total of five stops. Recommended for all, oh and wear shoes with grip! Stairs can be slippery.

Itinerary
Embark in our air-conditioned modern bus from 4 central meeting points and travel for 1-hour to the area of Peloponnese. On the way to Mycenae, see the famous Corinth Canal and make a quick stop to admire this engineering marvel that connects the Aegean and Ionian seas. From Athens center we need 60 min to reach the Corinth Canal
Continue towards Mycenae, one of the most important cities of ancient Greece. Visit the Mycenaean Acropolis, the tomb of Agamemnon, and the ruins of the Cyclopean walls that protected this mighty city. You can also visit the Archaeological Museum of Mycenae. entrance November to March 12 euros entrance April to October 6 euros
Continue on to the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus, a 4th-century theatre which is one of the best-preserved Classical Greek structures in existence. It is renowned for its amazing acoustics; a coin dropped in the theatre's center can be heard from the highest seat. The theatre seats up to 14,000 people and its entrance is flanked by restored Corinthian pilasters. It's now used for performances of Ancient Greek drama during the annual Hellenic Festival. entrance November to March 12 euros entrance April to October 6 euros
Last but no least , make a stop in the picturesque city of Nafplion, which was the first capital of Greece after Independence and has been a major port since the Bronze Age. Its position was so strategic that the city has 3 fortresses: the massive fortress of Palamidi, the smaller Akronafplia, and the water castle Bourtzi on an islet west of the old town. Stroll through the attractive narrow streets, and admire the elegant Venetian houses, neoclassical mansions, and quayside cafes. Take the opportunity to go shopping, eat in a traditional restaurant, chill out at the cafes in the picturesque port, or when in summer take a swim in the crystal waters at Arvanitia beach. Then we head back to Athens in a 2 hours drive throught the countryside

The tour is very good, tour guide was excellent and very nice. The only thing is that the tour company should have better policy in dealing with tourist not being punctual. At one stop, we and the whole bus of tourists waited for someone that was late for more than 20 minutes! It was not only wasted our time, but also our time at the next stop was cut short.
this was a very pleasant trip. The audio guide was moderately helpful. It was a bit too wordy, but there was a lot to learn. We enjoyed our day.
Our guide was knowledgable, and the tour was well organized. The audio guide helped to navigate the sites with friendly interface. The only thing to improve is the itinerary did not reflect the actual trip -- our last stop was Epidaurus, not Nafplio as stated.
If you want to see Epidavros - do NOT book with this company or this tour. I deeply regret not just renting a car and driving myself to the sacred site. Being rushed through Epidavros in under an hour - especially when the tour company’s website specifies two hours at the site - is a complete ripoff, especially as you end up wasting significant time and money at other sites along the way… which for some reason get a much more generous allotment of time. While I previously had a good experience on one of this company’s past tours, I can no longer in good conscience recommend this company, nor will I be booking with them again, based on the money and time wasted today.
The tour was very rich, informative, and well worth it given the long drive. Christopher, our tour leader was very professional, provided interesting information, and most importantly, managed our group (about 60 people) very well. Everything went as planned and promptly. I'm very happy with the tour and would recommend it.
Very good company for everyone to explore with a day trip or more day places in Greece..!!! Have many different tour to choose.. I choose today to go to Nafplio and two archaeological places Epidaurus and Mikines.. very nice with full of air conditioning and comfortable with good driver and very polite and helpful girl guider..!!! I recommend to all of you and of course I will tell to my friends..!!!! Thank you very much and see you again..!!!! THR BEST EXPERIENCE..!!💯💯💯💯💯👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I wasn't expecting much since it was cheap, but I was surprised by the punctuality of the schedule, the guide was really nice and explained each areas before reaching each spot, the virtual tour worked perfecty and the drive was smooth.
We were picked up at the Omonoia Square around 8:00 am and met our tour guide Alexandra Milioni. Before disembarking the bus for our first stop at Corinth Canal, Alexandra distributed out AV devices (used mobile phones) to us to use during our stops. She gave instructions on how to use the devices while on the bus, but unfortunately, there were some of us that could not hear all her instructions and had to seek her out to get clarity on how to operate the application. Use of the AV devices is an excellent concept…when they work. For my wife and I, we were not so fortunate to have a fully functional device and had to repeatedly ask Alexandra for help in restarting/resetting the phones…and even replacing the phones. We eventually stopped using them at the last stop as the devices malfunctioned resulting in us missing out on the historical significance of the theater and surrounding area.
I booked this tour spontaneously while staying in Athens, it became the most memorable thing from my time there. It was amazing to see all the different historical sites and learn about them. The prices were great, and the time at each location was perfect.
It’s a long trip but well worth it. Amazing going to Mycenae knowing it was built in 5 BC. Theatre was amazing and the sound was crystal clear. Wish we had more time but this was an to the area and would consider going back but to stay a few nights to take in the experience. The Corinth Canal was so cool to sea two seas on opposite ends. The only thing that I would suggest is make sure you check up on the pick up points and understand there are a number of buses picking up passengers for various tours.
I am very late leaving this review on TripAdvisor but was quick to leave one on Google. The trip, the transportation, and the guide were top notch. I feel like this is a must do activity when you visit Athens. The sites are spectacular, no photos or videos can properly capture the feelings of walking these ancient locations.
We enjoyed Nafplio, found Epidauro very interesting.
It was informative and interesting. I think the guide was Mikhaila and she managed the trip well. The organization was very nice and helpful since I missed the bus, they together with viator support arranged for me to get on another bus to reconnect with the trip so thank you.
I mainly took this trip to see Napflio because there is no easy way to get there on your own. This trip takes you to many different archeological sites in addition to Napflio.I wasn't impressed with these sites, there is not much to see other then stone remains. I wish we spent more time in Napflio but I think it all comes to money because Napflio is free to explore but two sites cost 20 euro each per person which i believe is expensive considering there is nothing much to see. It is long day with some walking under sun on uneven rocks so make sure you are able to do that. Some information provided on the bus about places but not much. Smartphones wirh the App about places provided and that helps somewhat. Overall I was satisfied because I was able to visit Napfio but if you can get there on your own, that would be the best option.
Best experience I ever had, the tour guid was awesome so was the staff, everything was smooth and they shared a lot of information about every place we visited . Thank you for the unforgettable experience
Very informative with some interesting insights by our guide Alexandra. A great day at some great places
I have spent a wonderful time on this tour and it was a wise choice to spend some time outside of Athena. I liked all the information that was spoken by our guide Alexandra, she is a good story teller and takes us to wonderful places for me Nafplio City was the best but also the entire experience was great. I recommend this tour to all the persons who want to see archeological places or want to know about the history of this places. Great trip!
Wonderful day completely ruined by the theft of money from my backpack which I stupidly left in the bus when I went to Mycenae and Epidaurus. Took the backpack to lunch with me so it could only have happened when I was at these sites. It had to be a person on the tour. Lesson learned.
Great locations and a fair amount of time at each. There was no information shared at each stop I guess that is what the VR was supposed to do. Our family gave up on the after the first stop due to them not working properly and not good use.
Tour is well organized. Group have a good trip
I enjoyed my excursion to Mycenae, Epidaurus & Nafplio. The round trip lasted about 10-11 hours. The bus was comfortable. Our guide was knowledgeable. We were given older cellphones w headphones that were our VR guides at the ancient sites. I thought that was pretty cool because it showed you how the site looked like in ancient times with a recorded narrator trying to take you into the past. On the way to the ancient sites, we had a quick stop at the Corinth Canal which was nice to see. Mycenae had beautiful hillside views with the museum at the base (a little confusing to find) down the road (short bus ride) was Menelaus tomb. About half hour ride later we were in Nafplio, which was REALLY pretty. Wished we spent more time in Nafplio. Last stop was Epidaurus. There was a small museum & the famous amphitheater. Overall I enjoyed my experience. I love history but sometimes it can be too many museums after another so it was nice that the museums on this excursion weren’t too large. The views in Mycenae & Nafplio were worth it.
Good experience, the VR adds a cool element of visualization and allows you to explore at your own pace instead of everyone following the guide in a big group which I liked
This is a top day trip to do while staying in Athens. Mycenae especially was really interesting. We did not have enough time to fully see Epidaurus, but we saw the highlights. The only reason I am not giving this 5 stars is that the VR guide was glitchy and often got stuck. We also appreciated the half price coist forkids.
I booked this tour as I saw it finishes in Nafplio, and I wanted to spend some more time in the city. During the booking I informed the tour operator that I'd like to stay in Nafplio and not to go back to Athens. On the day of the trip it turned out that not Nafplio was the last spot, which made me a bit disappointed. I was refunded with the ticket price to Epidaurus, but this is not what I planned. The tour guide was nice though and very helpful. What I nor liked that the tour was kind of rushy I guess due to the traffic jam in Athens, and we couldn't spend the advertised time in the locations. I'd not say not to book with this tour operator, but if you want to finish in Nafplio, then not this trip is the one you're looking for.
It poured not for one half hour or two hours but all day. We were wet and cold and uncomfortable. Also I am hard of hearing and could not use the audio device and so on the sites I had no guide but the information along the trail . I would want a human guide next time.
The trip was everything it said in the description! The tour guide and bus driver were extremely kind and helpful, they answered any questions.
Very interesting sites, and good organizing and driving. We had a very pleasant day and highly recommend this daytrip!
The experiance was wonderful. Especially because of helplfull, nice and smile tour leader - Dido. I wish everyone had a tour leader like she was. I will have only good memories. Also big thank you to our driver - Dimitri. Riding with him was a nice experiance too. You could tell he was an experienced driver. The only thing I think could be changed is to shorten the time spent visiting Mycenae (at least by half an hour) and add that time to Nafplio. This city has so much to offer. Despite this, I highly recommend it!
The trip is super efficient with four sites in one trip, no shopping was included as in some other tours and no time wasted. The tour guide is friendly and gives attention to everyone. We bought a package with admission fee included. The company marked up the tickets significantly, like 20 euros per person. Whereas we enjoy avoiding lines at ticket windows, we thought the company does not need to mark up the admission tickets, in particularly its all electronics these days and it does not take take company extra work to get tickets for us. On the other hand, the company can usually get bulk rates, from which they can pocket the differences. Other than that, it’s a great trip. We would do that again.
First off Stefanos and Dimitri were absolutely wonderful! They were very punctual, friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were having a good time. Stefanos provided lots of intersting facts with a smile. We had a small issue with a third party booker very where they falsely advertised, how long the stops would be. Which then caused problems for sight see grayline. But the whole time Stefanos handled it wonderful trying to solve the issue that wasn't even his companys fault! All and all a thousand stars out of 5 to Grayline sight see Athens as they have a wonderful level of professionalism and problem solving. If you book through a third party any problems with itinerary is NOT the tour companies fault. Its the third parties. Will definitely be using their company again! It was also wonderful have the tickets already figured out for us, Stefanos also reccomend good places to eat along with being extremely caring by asking how the food was and how we liked each stop. The bus was nice and cozy, great air conditioning and wifi
We were anticipating a long day tour with Mycene as the main attraction. However it started a bit awkward with bad coordination between Viator and the local Athenian company. They gave the customers different information. As a result we had a long waiting time before all passengers had been gathered from Omonia square. It also turned out that they expected us to use Whatsapp but we had no information about that requirement. When the tour started for real things turned to the better. Dido, a young PhD student with a cheerful way about her gave us stories about history from both modern and ancient times. The Corinth Canal was very impressive to look at live. Such a mind boggling engineering accomplishment. At Mycene we were given listening devices with earplugs and we walked around on the sight by our self listening to the prerecorded narrators. The sight was very impressive and Im sure that for all visitors that had read the Illiad and the Odyssey this was an almost magical visit. Could this actually be Agamemnons palace, perhaps even grave? Did Helen of Troy visit this megaron before her escape with Paris to Troy? Of course there is a difference between fiction and factual but in places like this it is very rewarding to combine them and enrich the experience. Beside the famous Lion's gate, which was brutally massive, perhaps the water cisterns on the "back" of the fortress was most impressive. Nafplion was worth visiting, but perhaps mostly a tourist trap with Russian mega yachts in the harbour. The theater of Epidaurus was huge and with unbelievable acoustics. A woman in a different tour group tried the famous trick in which the audience was supposed to be able to hear the sound of a coin that fell to the stage floor all the way up to the top row. We were sitting about 20-30 meters up and could clearly hear that she didn´t use a coin, it was definitely a bottle cap. The almost scary thing was that we also heard when it bounced a few times. Besides the famous theater the entire area was dedicated to Asclepius, the god of medicine. The whole area was huge and probably provided the basis for the old but important phrase "mens sana in corpore sano." There was even a stadium for sports on the grounds. We highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in history and the small issues at the start could easily be solved with a little more coordination.
Visited 4 places: Corinth Canal, Archaeological site of Mycenae, Seaside city of Nafplio and Ancient theater of Epidaurus which is probably the highlight. It’s a pity my audio hanged midway through the last site. Due to bad traffic, we didn’t get to spend the full 2h in each site.
Was very beautiful and interesting trip the instructor was very nice and helpful. I recommend tgus trip if you are visiting Athens
I booked this tour specifically because it was written that we have 2 hours at each location. This is not true! We have arrived to Mycenae at 10.20 and they wantd us back at 11.25 then 10 minutes at an anothe close by place. Nafplio: 1 hour 15 minutes. Same with Epidaurus. We fished at 17.30. I hate to run, i like to enjoy the view, to read the information tables. I had no time for that at all. Took a picture and run to the next one. If you plan just to tick off the place on your bucket list,ok, but this time is not enough to actually enjoy the surroundings. The bus had no wifi, the phone couldnt be charged. When i asked the guide about the 2 hours, he told me that they know it is wrongly advertised it is based on the old schedule. We would get back to athens by 23.00 if we would keep the 2 hours slot. Other lisings had 1h 30 mins listed, we didnt even get that much time. If I knew I would have chosen them.
Arena was fantastic and lovely shady walk to archaeological site. Nafpolio is a beautiful seaside town.
It was really great - it was a nice ratio of bus travel and sightseeing. The sites were amazing, and Nafplio is beautiful. The day was perfect, and we even saw people swimming.
I highly recommend this tour. The sites are beautiful. Griselda, my tour guide was the sweetest most helpful girl. She helped me with luggage and went out of her way. The bus driver Manolis was also great. You won’t regret it.
Griselda was amazing throughout the trip. Kudos to her and her patience. The tour was done at 4.30pm before move back to Athens. If one is looking a very insightful knowledge, this tour is not for you. Stops at each place was too short. You will need at least 2 hours to visit Epidaurus cause the place is reaaaalllyy huge. Truly, 1 day at Peloponnese region wont be enough. Also, the itinerary was misleading. The tour go to Nafplio first, and Theater of Epidaurus as final stop.
Great sites to visit, but long bus rides. Mycenae was amazing. The Corinth Canal was neat and Nafplio is a nice seaside town for a lunch break.
When I wrote this, I am just finishing up this trip today. So it’s all fresh memory. Hope this really helps someone, anyone, avoid a bad day in their lives. Let me give the pointers - 1. The bus operates at overcrowding - it was fully packed and felt like a transport bus more than a tourist one. It’s a 61+2 seater - all full. 2. The crowds it attracts, or attracted today for me, was a pretty aggressive one. Almost everyone felt like being at the edge. The tour admin lady, is pretty much useless, has no concern for the passengers, didn’t get in to resolve any of the disputes that arose. She was a happy bystander. 3. They didn’t plan seats inside for families, I guess no one does but then others have spares so that isn’t really a problem. Well we, ourselves a family of 3, had to sit in 3 corners of the bus. 1 more member and he would have had to sit near the driver and we could have covered the whole bus and acted as direction markers. We did manage to sit together 1 time. But this time the driver did come up to tell us to not have 3 people on 2 seats. Earlier when I was asking for help on seats they had nothing to offer. Btw, my 3rd person is a 6 yr old who loves sitting on daddy’s lap. 4. Don’t go by their promise of 2 hours per stop. It is only 1 hr and or 1.5hrs. The stop at nafplio is laughable since it would be lunch time by then. So it’s really a lunch stop. You stop, have lunch( and a smoke if you do) and start walking back. The sites themselves are very nice but typically you would be under harsh sun when you do Mycenae and you would want some shade but would get one. The Epidarius is towards the evening and much cooler. I would have switched between the 2 since Epidaurus has a whole lot more of tree shade. Anyways I am just a tourist from India who travelled 10 hrs to be in Greece. I have had a great experience so far on all my other days. The Delphi tour was amazing- smaller crowd, engaged host, a wonderful comfortable vehicle for transport- its run by Ammon. Our tour at the Pantheon was epic, the guide is my newest insta friend. We also did an all day cruise aboard the Calypso which was epic. Only today was a wasted day and would be well forgotten. I understand that a more premium offering would be preferable for those reasons. Lesson learnt!
Overall a good day trip, well managed and guided. Lunch was basic and a bit disorganised. Nafplio is a lovely village, could spend more time there and not part of a day trip.
Easy meeting point & a good mode of transport to visit all of the sites. Information onboard the bus prior to visiting the sites was informative - thank you.
Having traveled in over 90 countries ( been 6 times in Athens) & have taken many tours ( 4 in Athens with other companies) . I've found this to be the worst experience. If you lose communications / your phone crashes etc at /near pickup time you are out of luck-they will not go & check if you are there. NO TOUR & NO REFUND ( not that I cared about the money spent on this , ITS THE PRINCIPLES of customer service.1 .We commicated with the tour operator the night before, stating our pickup point ( which they had given - one of 4). I also , gave them a description of my clothing & my partners dress, so if anything occurs they could identify us. 2. We had communication with the tour operator the next morning on day of tour and info'd them we were at the pickup point given ( 0730, half an hour prior to pickup time which was 0800hrs).I was leaning on the exact pickup point sign- so easy to see. 3. The pickup point was total chaos, lots of folk & many many buses arriving & leaving. We checked the frontage of every bus for company/ tour signage. We asked a couple of the druvers/ guides too. Nothing. 4. We noted tour operators were getting off their buses & calling out passengers names & moving amongst the crowd of waiting folk, & checking their backing boards & gathering up folk. This didn't happen with this tour operator, least we would have seen/ heard such, checked a couple of the operators to see if we were on their list around pickup tjme. NOTHING.5. For whatever reason at critical time 0800hrs I could not get communication( phone call) on my phone with the tour guide.(& try as I might it would cut out with guide) This went on for around 15 to 30mins. Then they finally set a message not a phone call- a txt message, which I received informing me that the tour bus had already left the stop and gone on their way. NO TOUR FOR US. We were leaving the next day for New Zealand , so I asked for a refund - for services not rendered, which to me is reasonable.. This company refused such. My advice- ( speaking from experiences)- DO NOT USE THIS TOUR COMPANY , there are more considerate & customer friendly tour companies in Athens , which I have used in the past.. Such terrible service.
As far as the sight, everything being on time and easy it was. The bus was a bit busted, I have to say. Nina was really good in leading the group logistaically however commentary and insight was a little sparce or we could barely hear her. The phones you get show the illustration of how the sight used to look like but the info was also limited there. If you want more in depth description of history and on sight explenations go for a traditional tour or prepare in advance. Nafplio here is more of a recharge spot, it was raining pretty hard so it didn't really allow for exploration.
It amazes me how they built these castles and fortresses. Scenery is outstanding. Nafplio is beautiful and would love to return and stay for a few days.
The big bus was completely packed. It felt claustrophobic .AC was not effective. The seats had a damp smell. The time given at Nafplion around 75 minutes was too less. More than half the time was spent in bus
The trip was a wonderful experience. We were taken by George a very knowledgeable and excellent guide. He related historical events peppered with humorous stories and looked after us with great care and attention throughout the trip. Thank you George for being so interesting, patient and considerate!! We thoroughly recommend this wonderful experience! We walked in the footsteps of Agamemnon, Clytemnestra and Asklepios, to mention but a few. Altogether an experience not to be missed.
We had an incredible day at Mycenae, Nafplio & Epidaurus, which was very professionally led by Dido. It is ambitious to do all this in one day, but Dido did it effortlessly. We learned and saw a lot. It was just enough time at each place. I would highly recommend this to everyone.
