I loved this tour! It was extremely refreshing to get out of Athens and out into the lovely Attica countryside, and it was a pleasant surprise that the historical places we visited were not touristy at all. At one point my family and I had an entire museum to ourselves! Our guide Stelios was extremely nice and knowledgeable. He was also very flexible in terms of our itinerary, as we'd already visited the Stadium in Athens and he offered suggestions for things to do as an alternative, even taking us to a nearly 6,000-year-old burial ground. As a teacher of Ancient Greek history and mythology, I really enjoyed chatting with him about the stories I've studied and taught. I would definitely tour with him again the next time I'm in Athens!

Giorgos was an excellent guide! My husband and I spent an enjoyable half day experiencing the rich history of the marathon and visiting the sites with his guidance. Booking confirmations were prompt and professionally communicated. Would highly recommend, and would book with him again!

A wonderful 6 hour, fully customizable private tour with our driver Eirini. She picked us up at the cruise port exactly on time and took us to see only the parts of Marathon and the Marathon course that interested us. Eirini was a terrific guide. We went to the Marathon start line, the Running museum, the Olympic stadium where the marathon finishes, and stopped at the Athens library to see the winners cup from the first actual Athens Marathon. We then were dropped at a beautiful seaside tavern for a delicious lunch before being dropped at the airport for our evening flight out. A great way to spend the day and Eirini is a great person to get to know. Highly recommended.

From there, he guided us through an incredible journey: visiting the Marathon Lake and Dam, the Marathon Running Museum, the Battle of Marathon Museum, and finally, the very plain where the legendary battle took place. At each stop, he shared fascinating history and context that really enriched our understanding and made the sites come alive. He was communicative, punctual, friendly, and attentive throughout, making us feel both comfortable and informed. We truly enjoyed our time with him and highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience the history and spirit of Marathon in a personal and meaningful way.

Our guide was informative and also curious. We loved hearing about Athens history and telling him our marathon stories. He never rushed us and found us a very nice snack/meal. The starting line for the marathon was humbling. The race museum was awesome with history and something for about every nationality.

It's always very nice to visit the places you ve heard so many times but never saw in person. The most amazing surprise was Manos Grizas , not only he welcomed us with bagels and bottled waters but he was amazing on explaining to us all the history behind the highlights. We rode on a journey passing through different ages . Highly recommended

So interesting places to visit with such history. Really liked the Marathon lake and dam. Beautiful nature not far from Athens. Had a late model Mercedes and the driver was very informative.

We had a wonderful time. Seeing the monument, the museum and the entire area of Marathon, you immediately realize the greatness of the route and the effort that took place during that turbulent period for the Athenians. The car and driver were great as we had wi-fi in the car and the driver spoke very good English. Fantastic experience for about half day, worth the money from the first cent. When we come to Athens again we will definitely prefer the same office for a new fantastic experience!!!

When we started planning our trip in Athens we understood that 5 days weren't enough to see everything...so we decided to find a local tour guide. Manos was amazing with a brand new mercedes! He was knowledgeable but more importantly he was engaged. During the tour we were able to discuss everything from living in Greece , the history, and politics of course. Excellent tour. A great opportunity to simulate one of the greatest battles ever! Manos made o great job. We started from the Stadium where the authentic Marathon finishes . An important venue for the Athenians! We traced all the track for the Marathon runners and we went to the authentic battlefield of the Marathon . The archaeological museum was excellent and gave me the feedback I needed to. We had a coffe on the beach where the fight originally became. A lively place, with nice cafes and restaurants. We ended with the Dam. A picturesque spot , vital lake for the Athenians.
