We decided with full willingness to do a road trip to Thessaloniki, instead of a flight. It was the best decision we did and in particular to do it with Manos. His 2 days trip planner is very well organized, rich and very informative!! We discovered the life history of Alexander the Great in a very unforgettable and detailed visit. From Olympus mountain to museums to wine tasting to palaces and monuments discovery and ending the visit in a city that never sleeps! Thessaloniki! A very well combined trip that we highly recommend with Manos. He makes you very comfortable in all aspects!! Enjoy your next trip with him!!

Itinerary
Day 1
1
Your first stop on the slopes of Mount Olympus is Dion, a key site for the Macedonians. It was here that grand festivals were held in honor of Olympian Zeus and the Pierian Muses, featuring theatrical and gymnastic competitions known as "Olympia ta en Dion," which continued until around 100 B.C. Dion was also the place where Philip II celebrated the capture of Olynthos, the capital of the Chalkidian League, and where Alexander the Great sought the blessings of the king of the gods before embarking on his journey East.
Next, visit Vergina, the ancient capital of Philip II, father of Alexander the Great. Explore the underground museum, which began construction in 1993 and opened in 1997, showcasing four interconnected areas. These include the Palace, the royal burial cluster of the Temenid dynasty (Burial Cluster "C"), the tomb of Philip II, and a gateway entrance featuring a semi-open-air exhibition of sculptures discovered in the city sanctuaries. The museum also includes the restored upper floor of Philip's Palace façade, offering a fascinating glimpse into the grandeur of the past.
Discover Aigai, the ancient first capital of the Kingdom of Macedon, uncovered in the 19th century near Vergina in northern Greece. The city’s most impressive remains include a monumental palace adorned with intricate mosaics and painted stuccoes. The significance of Aigai’s ancient treasures has drawn global attention, and special facilities, including the digital museum “Alexander the Great: From Aigai to Oikoumene”, have been created for visitors. This interactive museum will connect Aigai with other global archaeological sites, showcasing the universal value of this UNESCO Heritage site.
The final stop of the day is Thessaloniki, where the program is tailored to your preferences, offering a wide range of exciting options. Thessaloniki is known for the nightlife and the local neighbourhoods with amazing local Greek taverns.
Visit the iconic White Tower of Thessaloniki, a historic landmark offering stunning views of the city and a glimpse into its rich cultural past.
Day 2
2
The Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki is one of Greece's largest and most significant museums, serving as the cultural hub of northern Greece. Visitors can explore its exceptional collections of ancient artifacts and immerse themselves in a variety of dynamic cultural activities.
In 2014, Amphipolis became the epicenter of global excavations with the discovery of a massive tomb featuring two stunning Caryatids, sparking worldwide excitement. These statues, mirroring each other on either side of a marble doorway, have led to theories that the tomb belongs to a significant female figure from Alexander the Great’s era, such as Olympias, the wife of Philip II and mother of Alexander. Caryatids, sculpted female figures used as pillars in Greek and Roman architecture, stand over seven feet tall at the tomb’s entrance. With one arm outstretched as if guarding the tomb’s entrance, these figures heighten speculation that the tomb could also be the resting place of Roxana, Alexander’s wife.
Experience an exclusive wine tasting at Biblia Chora, one of Greece's most renowned wineries. With a legacy dating back 4,500 years, wine-making in Greece is an ancient art, and the unique humidity of the region makes Biblia Chora winery one of the most awarded in the world. Enjoy world-class wines in a setting steeped in history and craftsmanship.

Sometimes you are not prepared, what exactly you have paid to see! Northern Greece is so beautiful! Very underestimated comparing the Greek islands, but the beauty is very authentic and the people very pure. The museums are very high tech equipped, presenting the Great Alexander like you where there. 2 days passed like it was 2 hours. The brand new Mercedes that Manos drove made the feeling more elegant
We started with Manos in order to do the tour I find it actually a lot interesting and the driver knew exactly where to take us and what to see. I certainly suggest that to everybody who wants to see a lot of things about the Macedonian and the culture that they had at that time
Was a real tour, very professional, the exploration of the motherland of the Alexander the great was all that wanted and the knowledge of the driver satisfied my needs. Very comfortable car! Many Thanks
Last August we scheduled to remain in Athens about a week! One of these days friends of ours told us about this unique tour. We had an amazing experience with Manos for 2 days. Whoever admires Great Alexander, definitely he will feel like being in a time machine. We never felt boring and all the archaeological sites are using all the new technologies to make the whole experience more fascinating. The overnight in Thessaloniki, the wine tasting and the swim in Sahara beach, gave an extra joyful entertainment. Thank you guys...definitely the best tour in Greece
We had a very nice experience! Both the trip and our stay were very pleasant. The feeling that you are in the places that Alexander the Great walked thousands of years ago is incredible! Many thanks to our guide Manos for the excellent tour and so much information he gave us.
Luxury car, wonderful drivers with a lot of knowledge of Macedonia. Really have the feeling that we met Alexander the Great!!
Excellent destination, excellent driver, excellent vehicle. Maybe one of the best trips we have done so far, 100% Greek history related and the food in North Greece is remarkable. Needless to mention that even months after our return back home, still bringing up memories and talking about this trip and the things we did and saw. DON'T MISS IT.
