Lake Vouliagmeni Thermal Spa And Temple Of Poseidon Tour

My husband and I enjoyed the sunset. We really liked the entire route along the coast.

Good day trip from Athens to the coastal region. Lovely stop at the lake for a swim $17 entry per person.. restaurant avail.. but only 1.5 hr stop.. so just a swim and coffee. The pedicure fish in the lake are great fun. Could have stayed longer. Temple is a nice area and stop.. only 1hr 15 here.. enough time to walk around. Then the drive back which is nessecery but unpleasant with Athens traffic.

This started bad and got progressively worse. We scheduled to be picked up at 9AM and to go on the tour for six hours. The evening before pickup, we received a message stating we would be picket up at 10. We replied stating this was incorrect and it was supposed to be at 9. Yiannis stated that this change was for our convenience....not sure how this was for our convenience when we scheduled fo 9am. The next morning we started our tour with a drive to Lake Vouliagmeni. When we arrived, we were informed the lake was closed. Yiannis stated that no one informed him, but my guess is that he never confirmed with the park if they had an event (looked like they were setting up for a wedding). Yiannis then asked us since we couldn't do this, what did we want to do for the day? As we weren't locals, we had no idea what we could do or what were options. He said there were some great beaches on the way to the Temple of Poseidon. While this wasn't what we signed up for, we agreed. While driving, the mini van was becoming extremely hot. We asked if he could turn on the air conditioning and he said it just doesn't work well. Additionally, He proceeded to drive at high speeds the entire drive (doubling the speed limit in many cases). We arrived at the beach to find a run down area with disgusting water with trash all over. I asked if we could go back to another location I had seen a few miles earlier. He drove us back to that location and we stood on the beach for about an hour. I got in but the water was very cold. We then drove on to the temple. Once again, no air conditioning. My wife and the other tourist in the group asked Yiannis where we would stop for lunch as it was after 1PM now. While the tours says lunch on own, it felt like he hadn't planned on us eating during the tour. We arrived at the temple around 2PM and he informed us they had a place to eat. He asked for us to be back from eating and the tour of the temple by 3PM which seemed to be rushed. We ate a mediocre lunch and then toured the temple. The temple was the only part of this tour that was what we expected. We returned to the car and started our drive back. Once again, no air conditioning and the car was so hot we were sweating. As we arrived back in Athens, I asked again for him to turn on the AC. He finally turned the AC on and it worked fine. He then said he hadn't turned it on higher the entire time because didn't want to be cold and not feel well. The three tourists were not his concern and were miserable so he could feel fine. We arrived back at our hotel at almost 5PM (two hours later than we had scheduled). This was miserable. We are going to request our money back. 0 stars!!!!

Fun day in Athens - rain put a damper on our warm springs experience but Nikos was an amazing tour guide and driver and accommodated us to make our trip memorable. Had delicious authentic lunch as well!

Yannis gave us a terrific tour. His professional and friendly demeanor made him excellent company and we learned a lot about an area we had not seen before. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and recommend Yannis highly.

We were very excited about our experience. We booked the extended version with swimming included according to the package yet when we arrived at the thermal lake we were made to purchase tickets to enter to swim. I am not sure why we had to pay extra when we already paid through the tour operator. This was very misleading, Poseidons temple was very clear that we would need to pay extra to enter the archaeological site but when you pay the tour operator for swimming and then have to purchase swimming tickets again at the site that is not a company I can recommend. Our tour driver was very knowledgeable of the history of Athens but this absolutely destroyed our trust in Viator and the tour operator.

Excellent day with our driver Cristiano, who was very knowledgeable on Greek history. Lake Vouliagmeni & Temple of Poseidon should be on every ones must do list when visiting Athens.

Would not recommend this excursion to anyone due to the cost. The value is not there for a solo traveler. At nearly $300 dollars and then to spend another $40 for entry tickets…NOT worth it. The driver was excellent. Warm and friendly. Navigated the traffic with excellence!

The relaxing thermal lake felt like a magical place. The drive to the Temple of Poseidon was beautiful, with stunning little coves and beaches along the way. Yoannis, our driver, was very informative and thoughtful, offering us water and delicious Greek sweets. A wonderful experience!

We had an amazing time! Our driver/guide very knowledgeable and accommodating. The Lake was gorgeous and the sunset at the Cape was surreal. An underrated part of the trip is the scenic drive out to the Cape with pretty ocean views. I would highly recommend the tour to anyone with an appeal for experiencing the scenic views outside the chaotic get city of Athens.

What a great afternoon. Paired with 2 wonderful ladies from Trinidad and our fantastic guide Yainnis, this was a fantastic adventure. Although the day wasn’t the best weather wise, the lake was still very enjoyable with a relaxing swim and the aquatic wildlife nibbling on our feet was the icing on top. Our drive to the Temple of Poseidon was so much fun and set the atmosphere for strong group bonding. Yainnis was inducted into the reality of fatherhood by the wise group and he took on our advice eagerly. The temple itself was amazing, it would have dominated the area in its time. Overall a great afternoon was had. However it was made a memorable adventure by the company. Yainnis is a true professional who steered our group with precision. Please keep up the exceptional skills you have developed, you made the activity a memory to last a lifetime. Thank you to Yainnis and our new friends. Overall a worthwhile experience.

We had this tour with Cristiano and he was amazing. Very informative and knowledgeable. He communicated the previous day and made everything easier. The sunset from the temple was out of this word. The lake was warm and very relaxing.

I booked this tour at the last minute. It was expensive, but I didn’t want to “waste” a day in Athens. I was the only person on the tour. It was a lot of driving (no problem) without much explanation of where we were, history, current culture, etc. At the thermal springs, the driver left me alone for an hour in the nice surroundings, but just sitting. We then drove to Poseidon Temple. Again, I was left alone for an hour. On the way back to the hotel, we stopped at the nearby amphitheater dedicated to Poseidon, where I walked up alone, viewed, took pictures, and walked back to the van. Overall, not what I would hope for from a relatively expensive tour.

We had a great tour to Lake Vouliagmeni and the Temple of Poseidon. Ioannis, our driver guide, was the best! He was very friendly, professional, and gave us lots of interesting information. He made the trip fun! Highly recommended!

Excellent tour! Beautiful thermal lake and great views at the temple of Poseidon, a nice amount of time to swim, have a snack/beer by the water, take pictures, and just hang out. I also forgot something at the first stop of the tour and my guide went the extra mile to call and go back for it. Would recommend for sure.

Yiannis was the best! Punctual pick up, clean car with great tunes & gave lots of fun facts along the way. Planned plenty of time to enjoy both spots - relaxed and not hurried. Tip: restrooms at the lake spa are wonderful- rec to bring a change of clothes and shower essentials for after swim so you are extra comfortable for the ride back. 😄

Yainnis was an amazing guide. He was knowledgeable, provided great education, and very personable.

Our tour guide left us at the lake for 2 hours instead of 1.5. As a result, the Temple of Poseidon was closed. No offer of even a partial refund. In fact, that was formally denied despite the fact that we paid for a service we did not get. This is fraud. Our guide just said "sorry, they closed 10 minutes earlier than usual." Maybe dont push the minutes like that to leave us at the lake too long. Sorry doesnt cut it when you fly across the world to see this sunset. The fact that they refused even a partial refund is absurd and a scam. We literally did not get what we paid for and, as a result, wasted 3 hours driving there and back. This is your warning. Only book with this company if you want to risk not seeing the main event, then just to be scammed out of your money.

Do not do this! It’s a huge waste of time. You will spend the majority of the time in the car when you could be enjoying it doing something else. Our driver gave us 2 hours at the lake instead at 1.5hr which resulted in us losing access to the temple!!!! 3hrs of driving all for nothing! I want my money back!
