A nice private tour along the coast to the Poseidon Temple. We were given time to explore the temple sight on our own. Theo did a great job with planning our trip to get to places before the rain caught up with us.
My wife and I had a very enjoyable day with our guide Theo. He was most informative as he drove us to The Temple of Poseidon and Lake Vouliagmeni. Followed by a great lunch at a traditional Greek restaurant which was excellent value for money. This company and in particular Theo has our highest recommendation.
Great communication following our booking. Received an email the day before our trip, confirming pick up time. Then received a message on the morning advising of tour guide name and details of vehicle to look for. Dimitris arrived early and with a spotlessly clean car, with a bottle of water for all passengers. He was so friendly from the beginning, and so knowledgeable providing great commentary as we drove out of the city. Dimitris really made our trip so enjoyable - sharing lots of history and fact about the places we visited and also in general conversation. We really enjoyed seeing more outside of Athens and definitely recommend CrispyLocals.
Had a wonderful day with our tour guide George. Started off at the Temple of Poseidon. Got their early before the crowds and the place almost to ourselves. Asked George for a little more time there because we were enjoying so much. He was so accommodating! Next stop was the Lake which was beautiful and along the way George told us so many interesting stories and explained the history of Greece. We even had time to stop in town and spend time at the shops. Def a highlight of our trip! Highly recommend esp if George is your tour guide!
We had a lovely day with Harry. The weather wasn’t cooperating with our plans but we didn’t let that keep us from having fun. The drive to the lake was quick and filled with lots to see as we passed through the suburbs of Athens. Once we arrived at the lake, we decided it was too chilly and windy for our taste. So we looked around, took some photos and headed on toward Poseidon’s temple. We really enjoyed the scenic highway on the Aegean Sea coast. The water was so blue. Our guide, Harry even pulled over so we could get out of the car at a safe overlook site. Got some very pretty pictures. The Temple of Poseidon was very commanding and had nice interpretive markers plus a digital code that gave an audio tour of the site. The 20 Euro per person entry seemed high for the value of what was there. But we were not coming all that way to not pay and see it up close. The gift shop was closed when we were there, so no souvenir shopping. Their very scenic cafe was open. It served drinks and snacks. We used the restroom facilities and they were very clean. The ride back to Athens was filled with delightful conversation with Harry. We discussed Greek history, food, family traditions and even learned a few Greek words. Harry is such a kind and caring guide. He was very concerned that the weather was adversely affecting our tour. What can any of us do about rainy weather? We assured him we were fine and ready to head back to our hotel. We rode through one of the fancier neighborhoods south of Athens. Got to see some cute shops and restaurants. We decided not to get out of the car due to rain. Harry safely returned us to our hotels and we dashed inside to avoid getting wet. We would definitely take this tour again - but hopefully it would be on a sunnier day!
Our guide was beyond exceptional. Told us and showed us so many interesting things along the way to our destinations. Introduced us to an excellent restaurant with fresh caught fish by the owner of the business, also introduced us to freddo espressos. Would highly recommend this experience to everyone.
George was on time, waiting for us in our hotel lobby. He drove us to the lake and an ocean side restaurant - it such a nice day! This is our returning trip to Athens, and our second time of this exact tour. Last time, we loved Lake Vouliagmeni and we didn't have enough time (2 hours), so this time we double the time (3.5 hours) to spent at the lake and we still felt it was too short - but in a good way!. Because we oped to spend more time at the lake and then a leisurely lunch, we asked George to skip the Temple of Poseidon segment for our trip. We got to the lake at its opening hour. We were ensured entrance and we could pick the best seats. It is a popular destination and by noon, people were waiting in line to get in. I would recommend tell all members of your party that even if they don't swim, they can stand in the water and enjoy the mineral water. This is a nice break from the tours of the monuments and the frenzy of Athens. When you come out of lake water you will feel like a NEW PERSON!
Very easy to book this trip, We did a private tour and it was amazing, the driver Theo speaks very good English, he was very knowledgeable about Greece, just a fantastic person. I really cannot express in words how thankful we are that he was our guide today. The lake is a must see and enjoy as well as the Temple of Poseidon has breath taking views. Will definitely use this company and Theo again.
We had an amazing experience with our guide, Nathan! He was incredibly professional, prompt, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout the entire day. What really stood out to us was how he made the experience feel completely personalized. Nathan truly allowed us to make the day about us—our interests, our pace, and the things we wanted to see and experience. He was there when we needed him, but never made us feel rushed or like we were on someone else’s schedule. The lake & The Temple Of Poseidon where great. We had a wonderfull day. Melina was the max. So much knowledge about the Greek history and very flexible on the program we wanted. I always like it when a guide make good suggestions. Swimming stop and a top restaurant this afternoon. We had a lovely day with Giorgos! Pickup was easy, the car was very comfortable, and the conversation flowed. My husband and I learned some new greek words and had a lovely couple of hours at the lake (I would recommend booking chairs or daybeds through their site, they come with bar service and towels). We then headed to Poseidon’s Temple, and stopped at a family restaurant on the water for a wonderful lunch before resuming our journey. The temple was breathtaking! Our ride home was smooth, and drop off was just as easy as pickup. Would highly recommend anyone staying in the old town and trying so see more of the countryside of athens!

Such a great day trip from Athens! Our driver Nathan was so knowledgeable about the area and very friendly and professional. The lake was beautiful and the fish nibbling at your toes is a true experience. Nathan recommended a restaurant on the water which was very delicious and had beautiful views and after eating we headed to Poseidon’s temple. It’s quite small compared to the Parthenon, but we thought it was worth visiting as a good add on to the lake because it wasn’t too much further. Overall, we were super happy we took the trip. It was a very relaxing day and Nathan was great!

Absolutely loved this tour….the lake was a great experience with the little fish tickling you…The drive along the coastline was beautiful, I def recommend this company for the lake and the temple. Our driver, Nathan was an awesome guy, he had so much knowledge and it was a great convo during the drive. Very professional driver and clean, A/C car. Be aware this is more of a transportation service than an actual tour because they do not come with you to the temple or the thermal spa. They took extra time to allow us to eat and they brought us to a great restaurant on the water. Highly recommend.

Giorgos was an amazing guide to all things Greek. In addition to taking us to the lakeside spa and Poseiden's Temple, he was an incredible conversationalist and offered us a deep look into Greece's history, culture, and politics. We learned so much! Perhaps one of the highlights was when he took us to an empty seaside restaurant because he knew the owner. The owner's brother fished in the morning and we got to choose which fresh catch we wanted charcoal grilled and served so fresh with only olive oil and lemon -- it was the best fish I've ever had. Oh and we got treated to a bountiful table of Greek salad and grilled zucchini and tzaziki. Amazing and quiet by the Aegean Sea. A few provisos...this tour does NOT cover the cost of the Lake Vouliagmani resort, nor lunch, nor the entrance to Poseiden's Temple. Combined that was another $300 so keep that in mind. However a private all day tour is worth it.

Such a great day! Our tour guide was Harry and he was great! He was so thorough and able to answer all of our questions. He was super accommodating and made sure we had all the time we needed at each stop. The thermal lake was different than we thought. Make sure you bring your own towel and change of clothes. It is not a hot spring but felt great on a hot day. We stopped for lunch and it was one of the best meals we have had. The seafood was so fresh that you got up from the table to pick it out. Lastly, Harry took us for gelato and it was delicious! Could not have asked for a better end to our day.

Everything about this tour was AMAZING!!!!!My son and I were picked up from our hotel on time by the wonderful Nathan.The transport was prestige, clean and air conditioned.Bottled water was provided and we learnt about Greek history/mythology all of the time we travelled to and from our destinations. Lake Vougliameni was stunning and and completely empty when we arrived at 9.30am(the crowds did start to arrive around 10.30 though so go early!).After a relaxing 2hrs at the lake Nathan picked us up and gave us the option of going straight to the Temple of Poseidon or have some lunch as it was only 11.30 we decided to head to the temple at Cape Sounion. The scenery was beautiful and we stopped along the way for a photo of the landscape.After visiting the temple and checking out the gift shop we headed back to the car park where Nathan was patiently waiting.We decided to have lunch at a local taverna that Nathan recommended before heading back to the hotel and we absolutely loved our experience here.Such friendly,happy staff and the food and wine was all very reasonably priced and delicious.We had fried cheese and stuffed vine leaves for starters and sea spaghetti for our mains.The portions were very generous and we received free ice cream before we left.My son was overjoyed when he received a gift of traditional Greek sweets. My only regret was that we didn’t book anymore tours with this company during our stay(only stayed for 3 nights).It was by far our best day of the trip!

We took the private tour to Lake Vouliagmeni and the Temple of Poseidon, and it was absolutely fantastic! Our guide, Marios, was incredibly nice, charming, and highly knowledgeable. He shared so much interesting information and made the whole drive delightful. The entire trip had a relaxed, light, and wonderful atmosphere. Marios also recommended a few great local restaurants for lunch, and the one we chose was excellent and delicious. We had an amazing time and highly recommend this tour with the lovely Marios!
It was a very nice tour. Harry was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. In addition to the Lake and the temple of Poseidon, he knew of some great places to get traditional cuisine and gelato.
Omg! Amazing!!! But the most amazing thing of all was not the 2,500 yr old structure of Poseidon’s Temple, it was Theo!! From the very beginning we were stressed from a horrible trip over here that took longer than 24hrs. We had no luggage, no euros, no nothing. Theo saved the day in every area of our need. I can’t say enough about this guy. I want to tip him but I don’t know how to other than pay pal and I can’t get a pay pal account becouse we lost our card. I have everything but PayPal. Please help me tip him. He deserves every dime!

It turned out to be one of our favorite meals in Greece. The setting was stunning, the staff were wonderfully friendly, and every dish reflected the freshness and simplicity of authentic Greek coastal cuisine. It was a great day with friends, the lake was amazing. And our guide George was fantastic. He had immense knowledge of every area and was extremely friendly and hospitable. In all this was a great time and I would 100% recommend.

The most amazing and relaxed tour in complete luxury, Theo our driver was the best so much knowledge and kind and friendly with expert local wisdom and very professional. This was so good but there was no rush and not trying to squeeze too much in the one day.
Harry the driver was amazing. He was polite and great to chat with. The lake was fun. There were fish that gave you a pedicure if you were not constantly moving. It was relaxing. The trip to Poseidon's Temple was scenic. The Temple was beautiful, a nice walk.
