Get Lost In Athens With An Insider

It didn’t offer anything for me… I was already in Athens for 7 days so I had already walked and seen everything on my own. This is probly a tour for people that are just arriving in Athens on their first day.

Eleni was our guide and was fantastic. You do really get lost in Athens with an insider. We walked and talked and she gave us a lot of interesting history and stories about Athens. Went to places we would never had found on our own. Gave us a different insight into Athens and its inner areas. Enjoyable and highly recommended.

Dionysus was an excellent tour guide and incredibly knowledgeable about the history and current events in Greece

Interesting tour, really enjoyed it, Helena was v knowledgeable and answered lots of questions. Would recommend.

Our guide was quite excellent. He was flexible and knowledgeable and gave us a deeper understanding of the areas walked and of Greek culture and society. Thanks to Dionysus, our guide.

Overall, we enjoyed the experience of visiting a variety of neighborhoods. The street art was particularly engaging. But there were some issues, including pacing (which felt somewhat slow) and communication. I would suggest a refreshment break of some sort as well, instead of the guide simply pointing out some popular spots. I'm not sorry we took this tour, but feel it could be improved in terms of pace and organization.

We had a great guided tour with Dionysis which we would recommend to anyone looking for a good overview of Athen. "Get Lost in Athens with an Insider" is a very good start of a stay in a new city, ie one get an overview of where to find what and what to do. Our guide Dionysis is very nice, knowledgeable, down to earth, very good to explain and easy to understand either we ask about ancient history, how Greek live today or tips on what to do in Athen.

Highly recommend this tour! It’s a great way to see parts of Athens on foot and learn some of the history and culture. Dennis was amazing - very knowledgeable, flexible in changing the itinerary, and took us to a great Greek coffee shop we would not have found on our own. It was a great experience!

Hercules was great! Knowledgeable and personal. He had excellent recommendations for restaurants and really made the experience chill and enjoyable!!!!

Okay tour especially for those interested in Street art. Was nice to have someone walk us around the back roads

This was a wonderful experience & we learned so much we never would have known. We loved it. A perfect start to our time in Athens.

Everything on the tour was special and most areas I never would have seen on my own., but I could not understand the guide. She was warm and engaging and knows her information .It would have been perfect if her English was better.She even said if we didn’t understand( she had to wear a mask) she would talk louder, but that wasn’t the problem.

Helena was a wonderful guide with a very good knowledge about street art and also about arqueology. If you’re planning to visit Athens I would recommend to do this tour

Just been up with a group of 12 ladies and Dionysis & Hercules gave us a fantastic walking tour. We saw sights we would never have found on our own and they took us to the fantastic Deli Miran Meze which is a destination in itself. We had a history lesson but in a most interesting way that we never wanted the tour to end. They were also very patient if we lost one of the group into a shop and also so kind to the slower walkers in the group. The street art was incredible. I highly recommend these two guides and still have a smile when I look at my photos.

We had a wonderful afternoon with our tour guide Hercules. He was very knowledgeable and was a pleasure to be with. We met him easily in front of the old church in Monastiraki. We were delighted when we found out we were the only ones on the tour!! We walked all over the city appreciating the diversity of neighborhoods and rich history. I loved the street art and the energy of this city. After enjoying an outstanding view from the base of the Acropolis we went for lunch at a lovely outdoor cafe on a cliff. He helped us negotiate the metro machines and we said goodbye. Though we only met hours earlier it felt like we were old friends!!

As the only 2 people on the tour, it was great that Dionysis tailored everything to us. Having been to Monastiraki numerous times over the last few years, I was excited to find out areas that I had yet to discover and this tour did not disappoint, considering myself an 'old-hat' at navigating the local area, I was very surprised to discover that I had not even scratched the surface of what there is on offer and it made for a great day.

<p>We were the only people on the trip and our guide was awesome. We went to areas that most tourist do not go, saw a lot and felt we got to know the true Athens. Went to a wonderful out of the tourist area for a drink and our guide gave us information about Athens that was interesting and educational. We will always remember this tour and guide.</p>

<p>Sorry did not do this tour because it was soooooo hot in Greece temps above 100 I knew I pass out from the heat maybe next trip : . I will rate it a four star</p>

<p>So much fun! Wound up being a private tour. It was great wandering around the interesting flea markets and back areas of Athen. Would recommend to all.</p>

<p>We enjoyed the tour on our first full day in Athens as it helped give us our bearings and we probably saw places that we would not have seen otherwise. The tour consisted of just my husband and me and our tour guide so that was ideal too. The only criticism we had was that we would have liked to have learned more about the history of Athens in particular and Greece in general. I didn't feel as if we got as much in the way of history and stories. It was much more of a tour of walking from place to place. Our guide was nice and spoke English fairly well but it just wasn't quite as good as some other Viator tours we have taken.</p>

<p>This is a most! The guide provides an incredible insigigh on the city and will give you information that no one and no book would. She was also incredible generous with her time and wrote to us to give us additional tips that made our trip fantastic</p>
