The tour was excellently organised and thoughtfully planned. Our guide was extremely warm, friendly, and knowledgeable, and spoke excellent English. Unfortunately, I cannot remember her name, but we took the tour on 18 September (Patti - I thnik). Throughout the journey, she provided us with plenty of useful information about everything of interest and was always happy to answer all our questions. Our driver, whose name I believe was Nike, was equally kind and accommodating. At each of the sites we visited, we were welcomed by local guides who were friendly, professional, highly knowledgeable, and spoke excellent English. They also had a wonderful sense of humour, which made the visits even more enjoyable. On the day of our tour, there were only five people in our group. The minibus was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and well air-conditioned. Our guide regularly checked whether we needed anything and whether we had any additional requests. The entire excursion lasted approximately ten and a half hours, and the value for money was absolutely excellent. **I would wholeheartedly recommend this particular tour to anyone!**

It was a very special day. Our guide Pavlos/Paul, kept us amused during the trip telling us very interesting facts not only about the sites we'd visit, but Greece History, culture and society, language and food. The guides we met at the sites were very good too. Me and my friend were very impressed with all the aspects of the trip. Thank you. Carmem and Fran
The bus guide and guides at Mycenae and Epidaurus were great. I very much enjoyed all the sites-Corinth canal, Epidaurus, Mycenae, and Nafplio. It was a very productive, fun day!
We liked this full day experience. The guides were very informative about all of the historical sites we visited. The van was air conditioned and a very comfortable ride. We had six people in our tour group. I should add that we had to pay 20 euros per person for the Epidaurus experience and another 20 euros per prepackaged of the Mycenae experience. These were not really optional. We also had about 1.5 hours in Nafplio in which everyone splits up to go explore and buy their own lunch. I just thought people should know these are not really optional expenses and could be a deciding factor for some people considering this tour.
great tour, very detailed and not over the top. Great to see 3 distinct time periods of Greek history. The guides were fantastic, the driver was awesome.
This small-group day trip was a lot of fun and covered a great area of sites outside of Athens. We first stopped in Corinth for a brief view of the channel. We had an additional guide who was educated in Architecture and History who met us and led the stops in Mycenae and the Epidaurus. She was phenomenal! Both were wonderful sites, specifically given the number of archeological items that have come from Mycenae. Free time followed the guided portion of the tour. Additionally, stopping in the town of Nafplio, which is significant in Greek history, was quite fun. There was time for a very quick lunch after some highlights by our tour bus guide (different guide than the Archeological sites). Overall, the stop in Nafplio felt rushed as we didn’t really have time to walk the streets and check out the historical town. My recommendation to the tour comonany would be to expand this portion of the tour and reduce some of the free time at both Mycenae and Epidaurus. Overall, very fun experience. Enjoyed the smalll group size and the entire length of the day. Would highly recommend to its visitors who wish to break out of Athens proper to experience other locales.
Mycenae: Horrified at the treatment of stray animals!.. it was a hot day. One dog collapsed and died during our tour. There was absolutely NO DISHES OF WATER. Just euthanize the poor things. We cut the bottom of a water bottle off to make a small dish for a cat laying on a bench. She drank 3 of the little bowls of water while my husband held it. It ruined our experience, seeing these poor animal so mistreated. Who ever is in charge of that historic site needs to know how disgusting it is
We had a great tour from Athens with Julia as our guide. The timing between all the stops was perfect for us, allowing us to see a good amount of sights. The other two guides that we had when we were in Epidaurus and Mycenae, Jenny and Patti, were terrific as well.
The tour leader Lilly and driver Nikos were such friendly people that it made all the difference and made this tour thoroughly enjoyable. It was a small group and therefore felt more personal. Lilly had some wonderful stories on the historical myths which she told with a lovely sense of humour. Everything was so well organised and run efficiently. I would definitely recommend this tour to all my friends.
It was a very interesting tour. The guide was very knowledgeable.
A very well-organized trip from start to finish. Our guide, Roi, was informative and engaging, providing valuable insights throughout the journey, while the local guides at each site added depth to the experience. It was a wonderful excursion outside Athens and one that I would highly recommend.
This tour is a good choice for people who are not particularly well-read in Greek history and want a brief overview of the sites and their historical significance. The day was packed with activities, and the time spent at each site was far too short for someone like me, who enjoys taking their time in museums and exploring historical locations in depth. I am not the average Greek tourist in that this was my third visit to mainland Greece, and I consider myself fairly well-read in Greek history. I also read about the sites before the tour, hoping to get more out of the experience. I would recommend this tour to people who want an easy, stress-free day with a friendly and accommodating guide while enjoying a concise introduction to Greek history. However, for history enthusiasts and those who enjoy delving deeply into historical sites, this trip may leave you wanting more.
Everything went well. Good guides. Lots of information. Only the Canal of Corinth was a bit disappointed.
We did the trip as a group of 6 from Athens, but the vehicle was able to accommodate more if necessary. Our driver and main guide Nick was fabulous. We were picked up at our hotel and not only did he do a great job of safely shuttling us to the tour site, but he had lots of great information to tell us about the region. He did a wonderful job answering any questions and making sure our excursion was enjoyable. At the sites of Epidaurus & Mycenae, we were met by local guides who took us through these ancient sites and gave us great insite to life there. Their passion and knowledge for these historical places brough our visits to a much higher level. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting in the area. It really gives an amazing glimpse of an area rich in history & culture, past to the present.
We really enjoyed our day touring the Peloponnese. A small guided tour was the perfect way for us to see the countryside and learn about the ancient sites without the stress of driving ourselves. It is a long day but goes by quickly! Vivian and Patti were excellent guides (shout out to Andi as well navigating the busy streets of Nafplio during the marathon).
Awesome trip! Amazing views from the acropolis at Mycenae, Napflio was charming, Epidaurus inspiring. Guides were informative , charming and personable. Minus one star because tickets were not included — would rather have spent the time in the museums and archaeological sites than in line.
This was a wonderful day trip with superb guides. Our main guide, Athena, was delightful. She was eager to answer all our questions both about the sites we were visiting as well as anything we asked about life in Greece in general. We had additional on-site guides for both Mycenae and Epidaurus who knew their stuff. Nafplio was a perfect stop for lunch. Highly recommended.
Julia was a delightful tour guide! The general experience was expertly managed from stop to stop and gave us great insight into each location. The tour guides for the specific locations, Natalie and Happy, were so informative and really made you put the artifacts you are seeing into context. Julia ensured we had great context going in to each site with wonderful recommendations. I'd highly recommend this tour. Our driver was great as well. Worth the money 100%.
This was a pretty good tour, although a rather long day. The sites were amazing. The driver and guides were very good. It would have been nice to have a few more minutes at the canal, as there was barely time to look at it, have a bathroom break and grab a bite to eat. (As the day started so early there wasn't a chance to eat before hand.) Nafplio was a very nice town and we enjoyed a late lunch there. It also would have been nice to have an extra half hour or so there, but it was a long day so that is also understandable. We would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see these sites. We were supposed to go to Nafplio on a cruise, but it was cancelled. This was a very good alternative way to see these sites.
Excellent and informative tour. Comfortable van, excellent guides. Really enjoyed both Mycenae and Epidaurus.
Great tour very informative Fay was fantastic as her counterpart at the sites a lot of history a must do
Amazing experience. Not rushed, small group and with amazing guides. We were lucky really, since it was a sunday and January we were only 4 people which made it quite personalized.
We booked this trip online and from the information provided at the time were advised the trip costing $198 included lunch. On the tour we were advised no lunch was being provided. From our investigations on return from the trip, the charge should only have been $134 which is what online price was still showing the very next day. On requesting a refund of $64 each (3x $64) it was refused with no proper explanation apart from that’s the end of any further consideration. The response was disgraceful and the company happy to pocket our $192.
This is an excellent tour with an exceptional tour guide. Transportation was wonderful and the itinerary was perfect. Mycenae, Epidauras, Corinth Canal and Naplio should not be missed on your trip to Greece.
What a great tour. Pick up and drop off at our hotel. Athena and Peri (tour guide and driver) were awesome. The Corinth Canal is meh, but a nice stop after an hour in the minibus. The Mycenae and Epidaurus tour guide was top-notch. Lunch at a seafood restaurant in Napflion was one of the highlights of our whole trip. Long winding drive home (and then Athens traffic) but whatcha gonna do? A+++
wonderful experience with Getaways Greece. Excellent communication between tour company, tour guide and ourselves. Debbie our tour guide and Patti, our museum guide were very knowledgeable, and articulate. Patti & Debbi were entertaining and funny with stories behind every exhibit. Our small group consisted of ten people, Debbi had a small quiz on the bus which was fun and made for a very entertaining trip from start to finish. Transportation was very comfortable and spacious. Every stop on the tour was worth it. Nafplio was especially breath taking. Overall, great tour, great price and great pace. highly recommend. (mother/daughter trip 10/8/2025).
Athena was an excellent guide. Lots of knowledge to digest, but also very visual. Highly recommend Mycenae, lunch at Nafplio, Epidaurus.
Fantastic day trip. Long day but very worth it. Our tour guide Debby was wonderful. Entertaining, friendly and informative. Our driver was also great. We saw several amazing places. I loved Epidaurus the most. It was spectacular. Thanks for a great day 😁
Was a great trip! Great to see areas outside of Athens. Enjoyed learning about the history. The museum was great and the theater was amazing!
It is a very long day, but well worth it. It was a great and easy way to get to some of the must see places on our list.
Often the amount of time at a stop was insufficient, especially the stop for lunch. The local guides were knowledgeable but sometimes went into more detail than needed. The minibus was comfortable and the tour leader and driver were competent.
A lot of historical sites. Nafpolio was ver beautiful. Mycanae interesting. A long day. Tour guide knowledgable.
Great way to visit so much in 1 day. Small group is perfect. Our tour guide was very well prepared and nice. Recommend 100% We were back to the city around 6pm
This was an experience not to be missed. Every aspect of it was perfect, even getting rained on in Mycenae. It was magical…sunbeams breaking through the clouds and, of course, a rainbow in the most beautiful setting I may have ever seen. George was our guide that day, and we just can’t say enough wonderful things about him. His English is perfect and his knowledge is extensive. We crammed so much into the day, and while we could have happily spent more time in each location, we didn’t feel too rushed as we have with some other tours. Perfection!
This was a great tour. I wanted to go to Epidaurus to see the theatre however the site contains so much more. So interesting and a great local guide. We are went to the archeological site of Mycenae - also interesting but so different to Epidaurus - to see what may have been the home of Agamemnon. Thesbina and Alexander looked after our small group for the day. Lovely people, very friendly and professional. A full day tour but so worth it. Thank you Thesbina and Alexander!
Had a wonderful experience! This excursion hit a variety of experiences: history, food, and incredible sights. Theodore was extremely knowledgeable and had a great attitude. Andy drove well and we felt safe the whole time. The cost was low and there was a nice balance of scheduled activities and free time. Would highly recommend!
Excellent trip with a wonderful tour guide, Theo. He was very knowledgeable, had excellent storytelling, and a great way of expressing local history. The tour was well organized, with each stop having local guides explaining the unique history of the historic site. It was an amazing day.
The tour guides were great, and that was about the only saving grace of this trip. After paying for both archaeological sites you only spend about 20 minutes seeing everything after spending most of it inside with the tour guide. Then spending almost 2 hours for lunch could have been cut down to maybe an hour or 45 minutes. Either do 2 days or don’t waste your time and money with this tour - you won’t really see anything.
I had an amazing semi-private tour that took us to Epidaurus, Mycenae, and Nafplio in just one day. Our driver, Teddy, was warm and cheerful, making the experience truly enjoyable. The guides shared captivating stories, answering all our questions and bringing the rich history to life. I was left in awe of the wisdom and beauty of these ancient sites. Highly recommend this unforgettable journey!
Tour guide on the transfer van, Debbie, and driver Alex, were very helpful and spoke about the history of the stops. Stopped at and saw the Corinth Canal, Toured Mycenae museum and ruins with guide. Travelled to Nafplio for lunchtime. Viewed the Venetian castles from the shore. Traveled to Epidaurus and a local guide walked us through the museum and the theater. Van ride back to Athens was excellent quiet time. Alex and Debbie were outstanding hosts. Special thanks to them for special service. A very nice day tour of the Peloponnese.
The tour was a very nice experience. Our guide Despoina (Debby) was excellent. She gave us many interesting facts about history and mythology and was fun. Patty, our guide in the aecheolpogical sites, was also knowledgeable and kind. Our driver Andy drove us smoothly in a very confortable van. We recommend this tour for families. Everthing was on time.
A very nice day. I enjoyed seeing the unusual beehive tomb at Mycenae and the theater at Epidaurus is beautiful. Our tour company was well organized, even picked us up at our location. Very nice guides and driver. Learned a lot of interesting things about the early Greeks. Only negative was that we didn't have enough time at our stop at Nafpio, we were rushed to get lunch and had no time to site see the beautiful town.
Great plan for the day! Amazing to learn about the history, enjoy the views and great food!! The guides were knowledgeable and eager to make it a memorable experience!
The guided tours at Mycenae and Epidaurus were very well done. They also give you enough free time to explore both on your own.
Fantastic day. All the stops were interesting and George gave us a great tip for where to have seafood for lunch, it was delicious! It was very hot, but the minibus was well air conditioned and there was plenty of cold water available for us. Thank you
There is a LOT of cool things to see in Greece. This one was just OK in comparison. We had an excellent guide who spoke perfect English. But the tour cost (plus entrance tickets and lunch) was very expensive for what we saw. Greece is amazing, but if we return someday, we will not do this tour again.
Great day excursion from Athens. Our guides, George and Patty, were incredible, and the sites were worth drive. I wish we'd had a little more time to walk around Nafplio, so if you are reading this, one suggestion is don't sit down for lunch but grab a bite and walk instead.
It was a long day, but George handled it well, keeping us informed and entertained with history and cultural information. The sites were interesting and there were good restaurants available for lunch.
George, our tour guide, and our driver were excellent. We learned so much, and the sites were beautiful. Highly recommend. Well worth a day trip out of Athens.
Was a great choice for our holidays , we had a wonderful time! Everything was well organised and overall a very educational experience
