Itinerary
Meet your guide at Key Tours office, and reach the south slope of the Acropolis, where you will admire the Dionysus Sanctuary and Dionysus Theater.
Walk up the hill leading to the Acropolis significant site and have your camera ready for snapping photos of the historical monuments of Acropolis, including the Parthenon, the Erechtheion, the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, and the Pedestal of Agrippa.
Having explored the Acropolis site and going downhill, you will admire significant sights of the capital of Greece, including the Ancient Agora and the National Observatory of Athens.
Then, you will enter and walk through the unique district of the city, Plaka. For a while, forget the city sounds. Go around Anafiotika, the topmost neighborhood of Plaka and discover with your guide its tranquil, picturesque, and mystic hidden corners. Stroll around the innumerable little alleys and admire the old whitewashed mansions with the carved wooden or imposing iron doors and the colorful painted shutter. Find hidden gems of unspoiled beauty and magnificent views and learn secrets unknown even to many Athenians.
After a while, you will arrive at the Bathhouse of the Winds, the only public bath of Athens surviving at the present days. It dates from the first period of Turkish rule (1453 – 1669) and stands near the Roman forum and the Tower of the Winds.
Passing by the Roman Forum, the Fethiye Mosque Museum and the Hadrian's Library, you will end up at Monastiraki Square, perhaps the oldest surviving square of the city. After the end of the tour, you can visit the flea market, one of the best places to buy just about anything or continue strolling and enjoy your lunch or your coffee at one of the little, picturesque shops, creating memories of a lifetime.

Fantastic experience. Petros, our guide was great, really knowledgable and friendly.
Sofia was fantastic! Very sweet and knowledgeable.
Our guide Socrates provides excellent story and details of both the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum. The entire 4 hours was well paced
Anastasia Riga was great!!!! She made the tour. Wonderful personality. Great knowledge and over all 10/10
Sofia was an amazing guide who knew everything!
Christina was awesome. She was really knowledgeable and very friendly. We had a small group, so we felt as if we were getting some amazing 1 to 1 service.
Mr Neris was a great guide, knowledgeable and talked well articulated and in a proper pace. When he looked around his mouth changed position in relation to the microphone which made the sound sometimes too loud, sometimes too low. A head mounted microphone would be much better. Nevertheless a very good experience.
Great experience with a very knowledgeable and friendly guide. We really wouldn't have appreciated the incredible history of the Acropolis and Plaka had we not booked this tour.
Excellent tour lot of infuriation provided. Our guide Kostas was extremely knowledgeable and made the tour very interesting and went at a good pace. In Plaka he showed us areas we would never have discovered on our own. Thank you Kostas for making the tour so great.
Our guide, Evi S, was magnificent. Her knowledge is incredible and presented very well. She kept our group together and moving at a good pace - no mean feat in the crowd! More history than I imagined. Definitely wear good walking shoes as track is slippery and uneven in parts.
Our guide, Christina was wonderful. She was thoughtful of all individuals within the group. She did not allow attention demanders to take over the group. Her knowledge was amazing and was shared so it could be understood by all. We enjoyed our day with her from start to finish. Thank you Christina!
thanks to kostas he was a perfect tour guide.
I got the tour with Irene, she was really kind and super interesting and interested in Greek monument and mythology so it was a pleasure to listen to her and ask her questions
First off, my guide was incredibly knowledgeable and communicated everything to us clearly. She was open to questions and she is what made the experience better than my overall rating. Without her, it would be lower. The first problem. I booked months in advance and before our trip I was double checking everything. In the email I received I thought I had booked the walking tour to the Acropolis and museum with entry tickets included. I emailed just to be sure. This was not the case. Other reviews also commented on this confusion. I purchased the museum tickets on line but could not get the 8:00 entry ticket to the Acropolis as it was booked. If I had known months in advance I could have purchased this. I had to pay extra money from the same company I was doing the walking tour with to get an entry ticket and an audio guide which you don’t use because you have a personal tour guide. We got at the meeting point at 7:45, the recommended time but we didn’t leave until well after 8:00am about 8:25-39om because they were waiting for people in our group to arrive and they added a new couple to the group as well. This was frustrating since we were stressed to be on time. We basically sat or stood in an office with tons of people for 45 minutes.
Petros provided excellent tours of the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum. He gave lots of information and helpful background to put it all in context. The pace was perfect. He provided just the right number of breaks to allow us to take pictures or to rest. I would highly recommend this tour with Petros.
Lydia is by far the best, most authentic, informed, relaxed tour guide. She was calm and comforting and helped our group navigate lots of information and trekking the early morning tour to the Acropolis … so helpful with local food recommendations too. There were two babies on the tour, and before we went to the next spot to talk, she always made sure the babies were accounted for ❤️We highly recommend her!!
The Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion is simply breathtaking. The combination of ancient history, stunning architecture, and the incredible sunset over the Aegean Sea creates a magical atmosphere. Arrive before sunset to enjoy one of the most beautiful views in Greece. A must-visit if you’re in Athens!
Katarina was the best guide, really good at explaining the rich history of Greece. 10/10
Jimmy was awesome! You can tell he cared about the topics he was talking about and ensuring you enjoyed the experience.
Our guided tour to the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum was thoroughly enjoyable. Katerina was very knowledgeable, a great story teller and added a touch of humour throughout the tour. Thanks again
Our guide was very knowledgeable and experienced - she moved the group through crowds safely and efficiently highlighting many interesting things along the way - we learnt lots and really enjoyed it. Highly recommend
We did the Early Access to the Acropolis & Old Town Guided Walking Tour at 8:15 am May 29/24.The meeting point (Key Tours) was easy to find & check-in was quite well organized. Please be aware that your Acropolis timed entry ticket (20E) must be purchased in addition to the tour price. I purchased mine on line about a month prior. I THINK you can purchase them at Key Tours upon check-in but not entirely sure, so please check with the tour company before you presume this. Our group was divided by languages so our English-only group was only 10 persons (which reduced to 6 after the Acropolis portion, when we continued on to the Old Town portion of the tour). Our guide was outstanding. He was passionate about Greek history & ensured he provided us with enough history to understand all aspects of what we were seeing during the tour. In addition, he took great care to ensure the group stayed together & remained safe on the slippery terrain, & he was expert at finding shady spots where we could all stand while he spoke. Be aware that folks with mobility issues would likely find this tour too challenging. The tour was highly educational & interesting & very enjoyable. I would highly recommend it to others.
Our guide was excellent The whole experience was great ! We thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being able to see the Acropolis close up
Very professional. Great job. And enjoy it very much……..will continue to use your service. Not much more to said…
The tour guide Christina (hope this the right spelling, sorry if not!) was very knowledgeable but got the balance right. I learned enough without it feeling like a history lecture. We got a good amount of alone time to do whatever, pictures etc, too. The pace is leisurely so you don't have to be super fit to join. And getting in early is a good idea due to the crowds and heat later on.
Well organized and friendly environment! The small group helped a lot as we had the opportunity to hear interesting things, while having a good time meeting new people. Thanks for the wonderful tour!
We had a great experience with our guide Kostas. We got a lot of information about the Acropolis and the surround area. We took a walk to places of the ancient Arhens that was impossible for us to discover on our own. It is a highly recomended tour and the best way to visit the Acropolis.
Excellent service! Amazing Experience! Highly recommended!!!! The best way to know Athens and its history
The tour started at 8:30 from key tour offices. From the first minute I had the dealing that it would be ages at experience. Mrs Katie Liapi was so kind with great humor and so deep knowledge about Greek history and mythology. Acropolis is a must to see but also the smooth walk around small streets around old Athens was amazing
I joined the tour with friends from Belgium , France and UK. It was an unforgettable experience . Our guide Katia was a treasure of knowledge and so passionate with great taste of humor. After Acropolis visit we walk around Plaka , Anafiotika Roman Agora . She shows so many hidden places with amazing stories . Highly recommended!!!!
It was a great experience. Parthenon is a must-see monument. The walk in old Plaka was very good and our guide Georgia narrate as a lot of mythology and funny stories. We visited also hidden places difficult to discover by our selves.
This is NOT an early morning tour. Viator subcontracts to KeyTours who does NOT have such a tour. The Acropolis opens at 8:00; we got there after 11:00 and had to deal with hordes of tourists and school children. We were very disappointed to miss the early morning light for photos. Viatour uses a bait and switch tactic to sell this tour.
Everything fantastic. Joana the guide made it ideal, she gave us a lot of information, without overwhelming, she was approachable, available and helpful, she adapted to the group without neglecting the rest, everything was wonderful! Highly recommended
Honestly, this tour is very much worth it because of the guide we had, Cristina K. It was a 2h tour of the Acropolis and it went by incredibly fast for me. Thank you very much for explaining everything so well
The tour was very well organized, the guide Cristina K was incredible, she spoke Spanish very well, she explained everything very well to us, and she was very pleasant.
I think it is a very motivating excursion that you can really enjoy. I advise people to pay for a guide who will tell them many interesting facts.
Guided tour in English lasting about 4 hours (2h30 Acropolis + 1h15 Acropolis Museum). We were accompanied and guided by Ilektra, a knowledgeable and patient guide with excellent English; she told us about the history, life, and interesting facts related to Athens, its history, and life at the foot of and inside the Acropolis. We met at the meeting point a few minutes from the archaeological site at 7:50 AM (Early morning is certainly the best time for the visit, as you avoid the heat which could be atrocious in the summer). Recommended: hat, water, and comfortable shoes; suitable for everyone, but considering that you walk outdoors, uphill, and on uneven and at times slippery ground for 3 hours. Beautiful experience recommended for those who want to visit the Acropolis with the addition of historical information.
The company is extremely professional and organized. The office where it is the meeting point is close to the Acropolis, making it very easy to access. Chris, our guide, even being Greek speaks Spanish as if it were his first language. Extremely attentive!
Our guide Magdalini was incredible! Lots of explanations and information. Very professional!!! Thank you very much!
Natasha the guide is excellent. Very kind, very knowledgeable, always attentive to the whole group. Very didactic in explaining👏👏👏👏👏
Great experience, Cristina the perfect guide
We loved the tour and the attention, Natasja was our Guide and you can clearly tell she is well prepared. The time is perfect for the tour. We loved it, we are from Mexico and we felt excellent attention, Natasja has excellent Spanish and masters the topics. She made us feel very confident. The time is very adequate for doing the Tour.
Very nice site, a bit expensive, €66 per person (€20 for the entrance is okay, €46 for the bus, no)
We visited the Acropolis with the Nadia guide. In 1h30 it was over, he did it in a hurry skipping explanations that then another guide from Athens has explained. We won't repeat.
Bad. We hired a guided tour in Spanish. A few minutes before the scheduled time they sent us a message that there was a 40 minute delay. We arrived at the agreed time and they confirmed us for a later tour but in English, but my partner doesn't speak that language so it was a total waste. Those from the agency blamed Trip Advisor. Terrible!
I found the experience splendid, magnificent. I would like to highlight the work of the Atina Guide who, at all times, proved not only to be a first-rate professional but also a charming and empathetic person. His explanations and stories were a master class with which we made the most of the visit. Thanks Atina!
The m guide is very familiar with Greek history and Athenian culture. In this case the Acropolis was excellently descriptive in a simple and profound way at the same time. After the Acropolis we did the tour of the neighborhood and surroundings and it was also interesting and nice to see. The guide has a Greek name that I don’t remember, thanks to it and keytours
Reservamos visita a primera hora con guía en español y por error de viator nos reservaron un día que solo había guía en inglés. Afortunadamente, el operador griego fue muy resolutivo y nos metió en otra visita con guía en español aunque más tarde, con más calor.
