Dimitris is the perfect guide for a tour of Athens. He's very knowledgeable, of course, but he conveys his knowledge with great enthusiasm in excellent English. Despite all the problems that Greece is facing, he is clearly passionately proud of his country and his city. If you combine his tour with a tour of the Acropolis, you will have seen the best of Athens. Highly recommended.

George was so passionate about sharing his knowledge of history. He was an archaeologist , which was a great background to discuss the Acropolis. He gave us ideas of things to do and places to eat. He had a great sense of humor and we thoroughly enjoyed our tour with him!

Good communication throughout. We were asked to change date/time and were able to do so with no problem. George was a great guide. An expat Greek living in Houston who is in Athens for a month and we were his only guests. Great chats on ancient and modern Greek history. Very engaging and interesting.

It was incredibly interesting, and the time flew by. On top of that, Dimitris gave us many valuable tips that made it easy to continue exploring Athens on our own. Below the Acropolis is part of Athens you don’t want to miss! Our guide, George, was not only knowledgeable, but passionate about his history! It was infectious how excited he was, and he took us to some out of the way spots we would never have known about otherwise! Definitely recommend!

Good pace to see a lot of things. Our guide (George) was very good. We saw many things different from the prior day tour where we did the acropolis and Parthenon.

Excellent tour of the hidden gems of Athens. Dimitri’s history knowledge and is a wealth of information. He will not only tell you about the Ancient history of the ruins you visit, but provides a good contemporary history of Greece’s national financial woes, but also the impact to the Greek people and the resulting “brain drain”, the mass change in ownership of property and land in the downtown area, and the impending demographic shift that could hurt the country even more. Finally, he genuinely shares his recommendations for any questions you may have about restaurants, bars, desserts, etc. Suggest people book this tour soon after arriving in Greece to provide them with the information to make the most of your visit.

It was a small group and George was our guide. Hugely knowledgeable as an archaeologist and born to teach- great enthusiasm and covered so much history and mythology.

Demetris our tour guild was great. He was very friendly and made this an enjoyable tour. He is very knowledgeable, and took us to some great spots. We were just a small group which was nice, as I find with large groups you can get left behind. I am glad I went on this tour the day after I arrived, as I then had a better understanding of where places were after the tour. Highly recommend.

This hidden gems walking tour in Athens was a great way to spend a morning. We were a small group, which made it feel really relaxed and easy to enjoy. This was a great walking tour. We weee out of season so there was only 5 of us in the group. The guide Dimitris was knowledgable and full of information. Keep him talking and ask him questions he has lots of advice. Although 2hours you are staying mostly in two areas where there are plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars as well as shopping and great views. This tour really set us up for our few days in Athens. He also left us a with a map of his recommendations for bars, cafes etc. I totally recommend this trip

Every year our group of friends go on a city break which starts with a guided tour. Our Athens tour, lead by the wonderful George, was the best city tour we have ever done. George was able to turn the complex history of Athens into a series of colourful and compelling stories which brought the past to life! We left the tour with an armful of tips of where to go for the rest of our trip. On a personal note, George was charming, clever, humourous and passionate. If you come to Athens you must do a George tour!

This was a fantastic introductory walking tour to set us up for our first time in Athens. We were sent plenty of messages in advance and the meeting point was easy to find. Our tour guide was Dimitris who was friendly and so knowledgeable. We walked for nearly two hours and covered most of the sites to see mainly from the outside but with the odd trip into the cathedral and a couple of lovely churches. It gave us a great oversight for the rest of our trip. Dimitris gave us loads of links for restaurants and other sites so was well worth doing. Would definitely recommend.

I went on the city tour yesterday evening, with Dimitris as our guide. It was a nice small group with a lot of personal attention: we could ask anything we wanted and he would answer. He showed us some very nice places in Athens and also helped us making pictures. He had a lot of interesting information to tell about everything we saw and after the tour he sent us his list with favorite places and recommendations, and we can still send him a message for help, for the rest of our stay! Excellent service!

Our time with George was one of the highlights of our trip to Greece and Turkey! Would absolutely recommend, it gave us so much more insight and understanding about the historical context of what we were seeing around the city and gave us SO much more confidence to navigate Athens on our own afterwards. Had a lovely tour with Dimitri, exploring the top sights in Athens at night with a small group. He gave us a great introduction to the city and recommendations for things to do in the following days, including restaurants and sights in other locations that we were going to next. He was very friendly and personable and we would definitely recommend this tour.

Perhaps if we had actually been able to take this tour I could have given it a higher rating. I would just say, if you are looking for a dependable tour, perhaps this isn’t the tour you are looking for. A couple days before our scheduled tour Dimitris reached out via WhatApp (not via Viator) to see if I could change to the noon tour from our scheduled 5 pm tour or one the next day. I told him our flight didn’t arrive until 11 am and we were already booked for the next day, so that wouldn’t be possible. I asked if he needed to cancel. He asked if I could do the 7 pm tour instead. I told him we already had evening plans and again asked if he needed to cancel. He said no, we could stick with the 5 pm tour. Then on the day of the tour I received an email from Viator 4 hours before it was supposed to start, notifying me the tour had been canceled due to weather. There absolutely was no bad weather in sight. I would have absolutely been fine if Dimitris had just canceled when he first reached out to me. I would have had time to find something else for that afternoon. But with just a few hours notice it was too late. So again, I can’t speak to how good the tour is since we never went on it. But if you want to book a reliable tour — this one may not be for you.
