A nice day tour from Athens in the mountains. Had a guide for the museum and the Delphi grounds. We were given time to explore the grounds on our own.
We had a beautiful day trip to Delphi with our guide. The trip was well worth the Athens traffic jams both coming back and going to Delphi. Our guide was outstanding and we had a fabulous lunch in the mountains on our stop. This was a full day getaway and was a high poibt of our 10 days in Greece. A big thanks to our guide and driver. Bravo.
This was a great day of sightseeing. The van was spotless and the driver, Nikos, very safe. Julia, our guide in the van, was friendly and very knowledgeable. She provided historical context for seeing the ancient city of Delphi and took us to a great taverna for lunch in Delphi after our tour. Voula was our guide for the Delphi Museum and ancient city ruins. She knew her stuff, which made for an interesting tour.
Very comprehensive day tour to Delphi with knowledgeable guides and comfortable van. You will see and learn much about the history of this important site. Only thing to keep in mind is that it is a long day (about 11 hours) from pick up to drop off with about 6 hours of driving (3 hrs or so each day). Overall great experience and highly recommended. Lunch break in the town a fun hour to get to know your fellow trip-mates at a lovely taverna in Deplhi.
It was a good day out. The pick-up from a nearby hotel (I was staying in the smaller streets of Plaka) was punctual at 07:35. The minibus was modern, comfortable and had USB charging by the seat. The driving was good. Visiting Delphi was excellent to tick off and the guide that took us around the museum and site was great. Our guide for the day was super and the restaurant we were taken to was nice with great views. The stops along the way including a look at an Orthodox Church were good. The group was relatively small of circa 10 people. They got us back in goot time also at around 17:00 having driven back through some heavy rain showers. Overall I would recommend it. The time on you own after the guided part to see the Delphi site was a but short, I had to rush to get to the top to see the stadium and back down in time so maybe that could be adjusted (maybe a shorter morning stop), but I guess some people wouldn't walk all the way up there, but I was glad I did to see it!
Nice trip with the small group, Yodha (guide) and driver Maanos. Lovely archaeology sites to visit to the Greek culture better
Roy was a wonderful guide and our tour guide at the museum and site was so knowledgeable. I can't believe how beautiful it is up there and so much history!
The tour and tour guide and driver were excellent. However, the van we travelled in was very cramped and uncomfortable.
We did not love our guide. It was hot and he was complaining sir the heat. But we loved Delphi and loved the hotel and very glad we spent the night.
Great tour! Drive time to Delphi from Athens was filled with local knowledge and shared with our group. The tour of Delphi was truly interesting and fun! Would do it again in a heartbeat!
The tour was very interesting and well-organised. A small group was certainly a good way forward, as disruptions and delays were limited. One thing to improve would be to organise the venue tickets as a part of the overall price, to reduce unnecessary delays and hustle
Our guide "Roy" was so knowledgeable. For an all day trip, we appreciated how our guide provided the history and stories regarding Delphi, but also gave us time on the van/bus to just enjoy the views. The trip to Delphi was farther than I thought, but a wonder drive. We loved the views from the bell tower, the museum tour, the dogs and cats at the temple site, and the free time to either get something to eat or explore the town of Delphi. There was so much amazing history and views that created a truly enjoyable day. This tour lived up to our expectations.
Every aspect of tour handled well. Pickup, transportation, tour guides, restaurant and stops. Great way to spend the day.
This trip was a great way to break up our time in Athens and exploring some of the surrounding area. María was a great guide and the day was both relaxing and full of fun.
Me and my daughter had a wonderful experience. Driver and tour guides were very knowledgeable with a lot of interesting information about sites along the way and the Delphi Oracle site. We recommend having lunch at the end of your day with the entire group! Food was very good and reasonably priced.
Excellent booking! Highly recommend. Our guide and accommodations were great. The museum and archeological site were amazing. Lunch was top tier!
This was such an amazing excursion. Delphi was so worth seeing. The food at lunch was to die for. The guides and driver were great.
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Everyone from driver to tour guide (Gota??) to local tour guide at site were wonderful - all relaxed, knowledgeable and pleasant. The van was very comfortable with usb ports for phone. Highly recommend for a thorough visit to remarkable site in one day.
Expensive for what you get. The tour guide ran us through the museum and archeological site rather quickly. Would have desired more time at both.
So happy we did this tour! It was nice to see the countryside of Greece away from Athens. The mountain scenery was amazing! The ruins and the museum were also wonderful! It was a long day- it takes a full day to do this tour and we were tired at the end, but felt it was well worth it for the adventure of the day! Our driver Soterious was excellent over very challenging terrain and our tour guide Lilly helped orient us with good information in advance of arriving the site and looked after lunch arrangements which were very enjoyable. We had a different guide at the museum and on site for site specific information and he really went in depth and gave the exhibits meaning. It was a great day and we would recommend it!
The trip itself is pretty compressed given that Delphi is 2.5 hours from Athens. It includes nice highlights like visiting Arachova and lunch at a local Greek restaurant. We had a guide with us on the bus and a separate private tour guide through the museum and ruins, which was a nice combination. Where things got a smidge snug was with the time aloted to wandering. We only ended up with about 25 minutes for this, which was hopelessly short. This may have had some to do with a snafu with our particular tour, but for us it meant we really had to hustle to see much on our own. The ruins themselves are spectacular, and our tour guides were both amazing. I'd think that for those looking for a more immersive experience, consider the two day tour or even a rental car. For folks looking to get a quick taste of what Delphi is all about, which is most folks, then this is a great option.
Make sure you bring sturdy shoes as there is a lot of step climbing involved. The views are worth it though.! Vivian and Perocles may for a very good guide and drive combination. Vivian chose the lunch spot in Delphi and got us a special table right by the window. We especially enjoyed a small group which made for a more personal experience. Amazing journey through the Greek countryside and well worth the time and effort.
long ride from Athens but worth it. along the way there are great views of this part of Greece outside Athens. the mountains are especially beautiful. Delphi is truly impressive with an awesome display of artifacts. the trip guide was wonderful and the museum guide was extremely knowledgeable and engaging
Guide Lilly excellent. Van was too tight. We bought a small group tour, but there were 19 people on board.
Both of our guides were very knowledgeable and attentive. Our lunch spot was also very enjoyable. Highly recommend.
Delphi is breathtaking and absolutely worth going to. However, the bus tour guide and pace of the tour made the day a drag. After only being on the bus for 40 minutes we had our first stop at a truck stop for 30 minutes while the guide had a huge sandwich and smoked a cigarette. That was unnecessary. Another stop at Arachova was beautiful, but by the time we got to Delphi, waited around for at least another 20 minutes, went through the museum, and got to the main attraction of the archeological site, the day felt like a let down. We only had brief time at the archeological site before stopping again for a lengthy late lunch, which was nice but seemed an unnecessary use of time. The day just felt like a lot of filler for a disappointingly short time at the main attraction.
I enjoyed my time doing this tour. Firstly, Yota was an amazing guide. Bubbly courteous friendly and helpful. She seems to know a lot and truly enjoy what she is doing. The pick up was a breeze, super comfortable in a small well air conditioned luxury van/minibus. They were even earlier than the time they said they will pick me up. The driver drove safely and smoothly. We didn’t have any trouble along the way. Another guide met us at the museum. They lend us wireless earphone ti hear the guide as she walked us and explained important aspects in the museum and later at the Delphi complex. After that we were picked up by our private minibus and went to have lunch at this taverna with overlooking views in Delphi town. The food was great and priced fairly.
Fantastic trip to the sacred ruins in Delphi is a bit more relaxed town some of the one day trips. Great small group today and fantastic place to share a group lunch and meet some other like solo travelers. Love the ruins and this might be my all time favorite.
The museum is great but the actual ruins are small and a disappointment. But our guide was very k owledgeable
Mirta the guide wa amazing. She was thoughtful and made the effort to get to know all our our names. The driver paracles (we think that’s his name !) was great. Out tour guide Georgia was so knowledgeable. Mirta took us to an amazing restaurant in Delphi as well. Beautiful view
We had a great time on our tour of Delphi. The guides were so personable and knowledgeable. We learned so much!
Delphi was brilliant and overall the trip was great and both guides were brilliant. Only improvements are maybe include the ticket price in the overall fee and logistics regarding meeting points could’ve been smoother. Overall recommend.
Ticket only covered the bus ride. Had to pay €20 each to see the ruins. That was dumb!! The ruins were so destroyed that you really needed a guide to make any sense of the site. Did not have any time to visit the book store. Would not bother seeing this site unless you are really interested in Greek mythology.
Visiting Delphi felt truly mystical. Standing among the ruins, surrounded by the mountains and ancient history, it was easy to understand why this place was once considered the center of the world. There was something powerful and almost sacred about the atmosphere. The guide brought the mythology, the Oracle, and the history to life in a way that made the experience feel meaningful instead of just informational. Lunch afterward was lovely and gave the day a peaceful, authentic finish. It was a long trip, but absolutely worth it. I would recommend this experience to anyone who wants to feel the magic, mystery, and beauty of Delphi.
It was fascinating and awe inspiring to finally see something that I had read about for so many years. The van ride was comfortable, and there were no problems with the meeting location, and although the ride was a little long, the trip was absolutely worth it. Make sure you take water and good shoes and be prepared to hike up a fairly vigorous hill. “Roi” was a fantastic guide, and the site guide (can’t recall his name) was also very knowledgeable and very informative. This trip really gave me a new and insightful viewpoint into the political and spiritual dynamics of ancient Athens.
Maria and our driver picked us up exactly where we agreed to meet, and on time. The narration of different parts of the journey from Athens to Delphi was super interesting. Our guide at the temple was awesome, sharing her knowledge and passion for the ruins and history in the museum. All in a 11/10 for our group. AND the restaurant Maria chose for lunch had beautiful views and even better food. ♥️♥️♥️🇬🇷
Despite your claims to the contrary, your tour is absolutely not as it is advertised. We were not provided an opportunity to explore the town, the only small amount of free time provided was at the site in Delphi and that was literally about 10-15 minutes. Your insistence that this tour is exactly as advertised is a lie, and extremely misleading. In addition, moving forward perhaps you could assume that those taking your tour can be trusted with a coffee. Having to throw out a full coffee because you don’t allow drinks is absurd. We have done dozens of tours, and have never been told you couldn’t bring a coffee. If that’s your policy, please make it clear up front.
For that long of a drive, the vehicles should have much better air conditioning. The ride was very warm and uncomfortable. Tour guide Paul was great!
This tour dies not follow the itinerary in the description, there is no free time. Lunch is communal, you don’t have any options other than where they take you. It was mediocre at best.
This tour is not as described. There was no free time provided and no visit to the village. Lunch was mediocre at best and served to the entire group at one table. The description implies that after the medium and ruins tour you would be taken to town and on your own fur two hours. If you want to spend the day with a bunch of people you don’t know and be forced to dine together, this is for you. If you’re looking to explore Delphi go on your own. Utter waste of money.
While it took a few hours to get there, the trip was worth it. Especially if you are a history buff. Our excursion started in an air conditioned minivan, very comfortable. Our travel master Dinaii ( sorry if I’m misspelling your name) was delightful, knowledgeable, and very pretty. She really took the time to talk to us and explain our coming trip. She said that once we get to the site that we will be escorted by another guide for the museum and actual site. Prior to reaching Delphi we stopped for a photo opt at a wonderful mountain village/town ( I forget the name).. Dinaii took us up a clock tower for a fantastic vantage point. Once at Delphi she handed us over to Georgia (sorry if I butchered your name!) who was our actual guide at the site. TIP: Make sure you have the exact amounts for the entrance fee for your entire party. Not wise to bring large bills as it will cause delays. Our guided tour of the museum and site was exceptional. Well worth the trip to educate yourself on the oracles of Apollo. After the tour was over, Dinaii took us to the most wonderful restaurant with a view and a breeze. The food was fantastic. All in all a remarkable experience. Just curb your expectations on the long road trip to and back.
Feel the energy of the oracle of Delphi! The Delphi archeological sight was incredible, the museum was informative and the town of Arahova was a very cool highlight.
Such a fun cooking experience. Great food and very informative. You will not leave hungry or thirsty.
This was a wonderful tour. Chevy and Julia (at Delphi) were wonderful guides. It was one of the highlights of my time in Greece
The driver, tour leader, and on site guide were all super! The ride was comfortable and safe. You won’t be disappointed if booking with this operator.
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Driver and guide were knowledgeable and very friendly. Lunch was outstanding. Was disappointed that we weren't able to see Tholos of Athena, which is the main picture in the tour add.
Marita and Georgia were fantastic! It was a comfortable, informative tour and they really knew their stuff!
I would highly recommend this excursion! It was ia great day trip out of Athens. The guides were incredible and I found the whole experience very enjoyable.
We had an excellent guide in Jota who gave us great insights. She was very knowledgeable and passionate about her work and the subject matter. Our onl issue was that the vehicle air conditioning was not working on a sweltering hot day which tarnished the experience.
