The stops along the way are pretty interesting too. I only wish my phone camera saved more of the pictures I took or maybe it was the jet lag haha

Itinerary
Depart from Athens to explore the UNESCO-listed Archaeological Site of Delphi with an expert guide and learn how the city was considered the ‘Center of the World’ in ancient Greece and today one of the most famous archaeological sites of Greece. Along the way, you will see the plain of Beotia, an agricultural center and you will also pass by the city of Theva, the birthplace of King Oedipus. Immerse yourself in the myths and monuments of classical Greece on this full-day tour of Delphi from Athens. First stop is a tour of the Delphi archeological site – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and easily one of the most important digs in Europe. Avoid and skip the lines of the archaeological site and walk around the evocative ruins with your guide, see famous monuments likethe monument of the Argive Kings, the treasury of the Athenians, the Athenian Stoa, the Polygonal Wall, the monument of Platea and the Temple of Apollo famous for its oracle.
Second stop is Delphi museum, with it's spectacular exhibits include the frieze of the Treasury of the Sifnians, the Naxian Sphinx, the Statue of Antinoos the metopes of the Athenian treasury, the famous bronze Charioteer, originally created to commemorate a victory during the 476 B.C. Pythian Games, and many other artifacts. Be sure to check out the bronze Charioteer of Delphi and the Sphinx of Naxos.
The Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia is one of the most iconic and photogenic sites in Delphi. Dedicated to Athena, the goddess of wisdom and protector of the sanctuary, it served as the sacred entrance to the Oracle of Delphi for pilgrims arriving from across the ancient Greek world.
After finishing your guided tour you will be transfered at the modern village of Delphi for lunch (own expenses), and free time for a stroll around the alleys
As we depart for Athens, we also make a small stop in Arachova village.

wear good sneakers, lots of stairs but worth it . effie was a great tour director, mountains going up on bus were beautiful
The van was comfortable and clean. The guide was excellent - articulate, very knowledgeable, and efficient with the time. The group was both small and diverse. My only complaint would be the differing communication messages between Trip Advisor and the driver’s organization about when the pick up would take place. The direct contact with the driver resolved the issue. Delphi is a must see and this was a wonderful way to experience it.
Everything was well organised and to time, the guide was knowledgeable and clear in his interpretation of what we saw. As you'd expect, it's quite a long coach journey - the coach was modern, clean and comfortable.
Dephi itself and the guide were very good and informative. However, there were some logistical issues. Tour operator failed to notify us that they'd be picking us up 45 minutes before our official start time. They claimed they notified us on WhatsApp, but there was no message. We scrambled to get ready. Eventually, they came back but it was very stressful. The lunch spot was disappointing. The food quality and especially the service were terrible. There were nice views nearby, but not from the restaurant while dining. There was a bizarre stop at a store 15 minutes later where they said this is your bathroom break, and then 2+ hours back! No bathroom on the bus.
Miscommunication is a big problem we did not get info for the correct pick up time and missed our trip to Delphi. When we called and asked what they could do to help us the reply was “nothing”. Very poor customer service and a really bad attitude on top of it!
My tour group was both for English and Italian speakers. The guide was fluent in both languages, however it made for a longer than necessary tour because the guide did everything twice. Once in English and then Italian. We also did not have the headsets so sometimes it was hard to hear when we were outside at Delphi. I think if there was just one language on a tour more educational information could be provided or cut the tour shorter than currently.
Unfortunately the most popular site, the Athena Pronaia was closed due to landslide! But it was still great trip and the included lunch was amazing 3 course at Hotel Amalia. Fortunately the Sphinx in the museum was available.
The long drive was not what we expected. We travel about 7 hours to and from Delphi. Our guide was knowledgeable but difficult to understand.
Delphi is amazing. Getting to site was challenging. Large bus could not come to our hotel to pick us up and was unable to get through the pictures town 20 min from Delphi. We were held off.by police for 40 min. Lunch was dry and .confusing. Four people were to share a plate of salad.....very strange. Chicken kebob with French fries not the typically Greek meal we had hoped for.
The worst experience ever! No one contacted me, no refund, they just steel my money for the tour and no emergency contact. No notification at the day before. During the day of the tour all the telephones are turned off, so we can not reach anyone …. Even to ask if I can join the next stop (because I didn’t find the spot and the guide). I just received the answer in the lunch time “no refund” - very fair ))) No offering to reschedule, no call, nothing! No client orientation Please select the other company if you don’t want them just to steal your money!! And I’m reading the reviews… I’m not the only one! Companies like this just spoil the reputation of Greek hospitality! Thank you for the spoiled day, enjoy my money that you are not deserving.
The coach left bang on time and the trip was as described. The sites were fascinating and the museum is excellent. Unfortunately it felt like we didn't have enough time at any of the places of interest. It is a very long day, we left at 08.30 and got back at 19.15. There wasn't a toilet on the coach which may be an issue for some.
.Beautiful place doll of history. Dimitri and Thomas we very informative. Would recommend for others.
Alas, no memories; wasted hours waiting for hotel pick up; our trip was confirmed, paid for, unable to contact service day of trip!
Excellent guide, well worth the trip! Guide was knowledgeable, engaging, efficient and well-organized, driver was excellent - archeological site was awe-inspiring, museum was also very nice, although a guide of another group was incredibly rude - most of the guides, including ours, were clearly working to keep their groups moving in a fluid and courteous fashion without obstructing each other. One guide, leading a Spanish-speaking group, was disregarding this protocol and barging through other groups rudely. He also happened to be the only male guide... Coincidence? I think not.
Our guide Dora was awesome from the very best. She gave an overview of different periods of Greece history. Upon arrival in Delphi story continued with so many names and facts. And of course The Place. You gotta see it,because it is impossible to describe it with right words. Thank Dora, Viator and driver of the bus (sorry, forgot his name). Irina and Eugene
As an experienced traveler, I can confidently say that this was one of the worst tours I've ever been on. Despite being operated by a large company, the tour was disorganised and inefficient. It took two hours just to pick up everyone, as the company combined at least three different tours into one bus. After being picked up at 7:30 AM, we didn’t leave Athens until 9:34 AM, which I monitored due to growing frustration. Combining multiple tours like this not only caused delays but also led to unnecessary confusion and frustration among the guests. One of the most frustrating aspects was the unnecessary 20-minute stop at a ski resort in Arachova, in front of a store, which stretched to 30 minutes. It was clear this was a commission-driven detour, adding no value to the Delphi tour. This irrelevant stop detracted from the historical focus of the tour and wasted valuable time. What does a ski resort have to do with Delphi? Anyone with a brain would recognise that this stop was entirely out of place. When we finally reached Delphi, we were only allotted about 2.5 hours to explore both the ruins and the museum with the tourguide, which is far from adequate. This even included waiting for 15 minutes at the museum for other people to arrive. As someone with a deep passion for ancient history and Greek mythology, I was incredibly disappointed by the rushed pace. Delphi is a significant site—larger and more immersive than even the Acropolis—yet we were not given nearly enough time to fully appreciate its historical significance. I would strongly recommend that the company reevaluate how they structure these tours. Combining multiple tours into one bus creates unnecessary delays and confusion, and irrelevant stops like the one at Arachova should be eliminated. Most importantly, more time should be allocated to Delphi itself, as it is a major historical site that deserves more than just a brief visit. Overall, the poor organisation, irrelevant stops, and insufficient time at Delphi significantly detracted from the experience. I would not recommend this tour to anyone serious about exploring Greece’s rich historical heritage. Even if you're not passionate about history, you'll leave feeling disappointed and shortchanged.
Great day trip to the center of the world. The tour guide was fun and knowledgeable! This tour is mostly focused on being lead through the sites and the museum with little downtime to explore on your own, keep that in mind as you’re planning if your someone who prefers a lot of free time. Lunch was fantastic and we did lil stops for shops and views afterward. Great day trip!
Such a wonderful day trip to beautiful Delfi and nearby towns however time needs to be allocated a lite better. Bus journey was super comfortable. It was a luxury coach with super cold air conditioning which was perfect for the hot day time. Maria was an excellent tour guide (GO Tours) as she was very knowledgeable and kept giving us info along the whole trip. Site of Apollo was beautiful but it was big. We had just 30 minutes to ourselves which was not enough considering you have to walk up and down carefully on the path. There are many historical relics to view and due to limited time we missed the Stadium. The Delfi Museum was absolutely beautiful but again due to limited time we didn't get a chance to roam ourselves. Lunch was delicious and the views around the hilltop restaurant are not to be missed If the time can be managed a bit better by the tour company, it would be a five star experience.
The trip was built as English-speaking but when we arrived, the turkey said this is a bilingual English French. The turkey spoke excellent French, but very accented English and difficult to understand. Also, she spoke just one sentence in English and then repeated it in French and then said another sentence in English and repeated it in French. It was very difficult to follow until she completed her story. She should've told the story in English and then completely in French. This also delayed everything because she had a repeat twice, you should say that the trip might be bilingual and not advertise it as English. The trip was over 11 hours and not 10 hours as said on your website
The tour guide Effie was fabulous and very knowledgeable She explained everything beautifully and easy to understand. Not to mention the fantastic driver Fanourios. .
Great tour! Our guide provided lots of information about Greek culture and history. The archaeological site and museum were fascinating. Plus stopping briefly in the small town was an added plus. So picturesque!
The information provided by the tour guide was excellent and her attention to ensuring that we were all looked after and enjoyed the whole experience was excellent. Getting out into the mountain area was fascinating and the site of Delphi and its museum was just amazing.
What made this tour so wonderful for me was the immense knowledge of the tour guide. Unfortunately, I did not write his name down and I can't remember who it was. I took so many tours on this trip! Wandering around in the ruins and the museum would only have been half as spectacular if it was expected that we do it without a guide to bring everything to life. This was one of my favorites of all the tours I took, and it is ironic because I had at one time thought about not going on this tour. I am so glad that I did! Thank you so much to the guide (I hope you can research when I took the trip and please post his name with this review so that he can get some well-deserved accolades!! My apologies to him again for not writing his name down.) After reading other reviews, I saw that some people were very pleased (like me!!!) and some felt disappointed. I try really hard to match my tastes with what the tour offers and that is why I read a lot of the reviews before I make my choice. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who REALLY wants to dig deep into the history of this location, and I hope they get the guide who really impressed me with his outstanding knowledge! His passion for passing on that knowledge is what placed this tour head and shoulders above most of the others that I took! Thank you again for this wonderful experience.
Great for a quick overview of the site with a very quick tour of the museum. Wish I had booked the longer trip with the tour of Meteora. Food was mediocre cafeteria food, and surprised that all drinks, even water, was an additional charge.
A great trip filled with history and archaeology. Our guide, Georgina, was amazing. I highly recommend it.
Great tour of Delphi! The group tour was organized and our tour guide was very knowledgeable about Delphi. We were allowed plenty of time to explore the archaeological site, museum, and village. Lunch was a full course meal in a village. Highly recommended.
We both enjoyed the entire tour. Our guide was informative and professional. Our driver was also professional and friendly.
Amazing place, energy, views, history, oracles, etc., etc. so worth the drive to Delphi to visit this Temple and Sanctuary. I went there with a purpose as I need to heal my heart, body and soul and Apollo is the G-d of healing, light, prophecy. Well, the energy is so strong that one can feel the presence of Gaia everywhere and the deities. Vicky, our guide was a book of knowledge, she knows her history from A to Z and George was an amazing driver. Loved everything about it.
Effie was an absolutely fantastic guide, very knowledgeable and clear, and brought everything to life for us. We learned a lot (and we already thought we knew a fair bit!). The information about the trip on the Viator site is a little misleading though - we didn't have three hours at the Delphi site, just a little over 90 minutes. The museum was very interesting afterwards, but we would have liked a few minutes to ourselves to pop into the shop and go back to some of the exhibits; instead we were ushered back to the coach for the lunch stop. The included (set) dinner really isn't worth it - it isn't very nice and an a la carte menu was available which we would have preferred. The stop off at Aracova on the way back was also a bit pointless - there is nothing there and it would have been better to just get on the road and get back to Athens before rush hour. Overall, the trip was a great way to visit Delphi, and the guide was excellent, which outweigh our niggles, hence giving the tour four stars.
Even the rain couldn’t ruin this tour! Our guide was fabulous! She had so much to share!!! I believe the cost was reasonable except it says includes hotel pick up but only includes a few hotels….
Thoroughly enjoyable day out to the stunning Delphi historical site featuring the Temple of Apollo. Lots of fascinating facts and information from our knowledgeable guide Effy. Nice coffee break stop on the way up at Livadeia with a lunch stop near the beautiful mountain town of Arachova. Snow on Mt Parnassus a bonus to all the other breathtaking views. Excellent Museum adjacent to the Delphi site should not be missed. Good, safe driver. Overall a highly memorable, wonderful day. Definitely recommended!
This trip was so interesting. Our guide was both knowledgeable and helpful. She made sure each of us had a great experience. Delphi was awesome even with the very long bus rides. Lunch was tasty and filling but very rushed. The only negative was the included pick up but from out hotel. The woman was impatient and did not want to answer any questions or explain anything. She was extremely disorganized. We just had to do our best and keep up. I would recommend this one day trip. This site was well worth seeing.
Must see place to go while in Athens. Worth the drive to see these amazing ruins. Scenic trip once your mountains.
Delightful and knowledgeable tour guide, stunning natural setting of the archeological site, and excellent choice of restaurant for lunch. The drive from Athens to Delphi afforded the opportunity to see beautiful parts of Greece and learn more about Greek agriculture.
Museum is very interesting but packed with other tour groups. Not enough time exploring Delphi on your own- less than 30 mins to reach the stadium and back to rejoin the tour. Lunch is average.
I had been wanting to go to Delphi for many many years. I am 61yrs. I put my Ted ( Fred ) on this low column for 60 secs and then had a woman employee there jabbing her finger at my chest and aggressively telling me off. When this interaction was finished, I walked up and sat meditating on a wooden bench near the theatre area . The staff member then came upto me and shouted to put the teddy bear in my bag ( it was at my side and i was not doing anything with it) . I was thinking extremely distressed and I went to complain to the manager. I also lost my tour group for a short time as I was so upset. The tour guide was lovely and I enjoyed the trip overall. Staff should not treat people this way. It would not be allowed in England.
This was a great trip, Delphi was beautiful and they give you enough time to see all of it and roam on your own, but also take you on a guided museum tour. The winery lunch was also well worth it, but there aren't really other restaurants around so I would recommend you sign up for the lunch.
The visit of the archeological site was extremely uncomfortable due to the very high temperatures that we experienced on that day. I understand it would have been impossible to be there at 6 am, the only time frame which would have made the visit enjoyable. The visit to the museum was nice. That part we enjoyed, as well as the location of our lunch in an a/c cool environment.
Gorgeous scenery, awe-inspiring sites--overall a wonderful trip. Effie our guide was so informative, lunch was delicious, and everything was well paced. Highly recommend.
A thoroughly enjoyable day Definitely recommend this trip The guide was very informative The whole day was great
Delphi is a must to see it is spectacular. However the logistics could have been better. The morning pick up was disorganized and took 1 hour looping around to pick up passengers at hotel points very close together. Some of the passengers were off loaded on to other buses for other tours. Not a great start. The bus driver failed to manage the bus temperature.
Except for the nasty traffic leaving Athens, this tour was great! A beautiful archeological site in the mountains was enjoyed by all of us. Lunch was pretty good too. We’ll worth it!
We were picked up at Presidents Hotel on time and left as scheduled . It was a tiring but fruitful whole day trip to Delphi. The lunch was delicious ( we ordered ala carte not the prepaid menu) 👍👍👍 Bus was comfortable with wifi.
Really wished guide would have taken more time at the ruins for education. Felt like there was so much more to tell us and we had to do it on our own. Museum was interesting and lunch was great.
This was a pretty bad tour which is a shame considering that the site of Delphi is so amazing. We had a small tour of 13 people but had to stop 3 times so people could use the bathroom (not including the ending lunch stop and souvenir stand stop which both also had bathrooms). The tour guide's English was not the best and she was difficult to follow. This was made even worse considering this is a headset tour so you are trying to listen to her through one earbud. Other tours were much larger and the guide used his/her actual voice to explain things so I would have preferred the guide would have done that rather than use the headset. But her tour itself was also poor. She rushed us through the site and museum and gave us limited explanation of sites as we walked by them. We hardly stopped. I honestly learned more by listening in on other guides giving other tours. In the museum, the guide got confused on multiple occasions and ended up correcting herself by checking the placards. I feel like I would have gotten more and better information by exploring the site/museum alone and just reading the signs. This was a really bad tour.
Our guide was so knowledgeable! She help explain all the sights and the meaning behind them. The museum was so interesting.
The morning of our original date, we received a phone call asking why we weren't at the pick-up site. Our paperwork said 8:30, but it was not clear that pick-ups start at 7:30. We called Viator Customer Support (who were very helpful) and they were able to reschedule us for the next day. We were picked up at 7:20 (we made it a point to be there early). The pick-ups went on and on and we didn't actually leave Athens until about 8:50. There was a lot of confusion where several buses gathered, and they moved people from one bus to another. Once we arrived at the site, we were expecting to be able to explore the site on our own, but this was a formal guided tour with headphones and transmitters. There were several other groups there and it was difficult to stay with the group. The tour guide was knowledgeable, but we don't care to listen to talking all day. After about an hour at the site, there was again a lot of confusion. Apparently, some people from our tour were being transferred to another 2-day tour, so they had luggage to transfer to another bus. We had to stand around while all this got straightened out, when we would have preferred having more time to explore the site/museum. We spent about 45 minutes at the museum and again this was a guided tour and as there were several other groups, we did not get to see everything. Next, was lunch. We opted not to be included with the group lunch as some of the reviews we read were negative. The description says the restaurant in in the village, so we were thinking that we would find a different restaurant. This was not possible as there is nothing around the restaurant. We did stay at this restaurant and ordered some appetizers which were excellent. Overall, we were glad to see the site and museum, but the tour itself was disappointing.
We enjoyed the history and fun facts that Cassandra told us on the bus ride and at the Delphi site. It was so much easier to enjoy the trip in a nice bus. The lunch was also very enjoyable. This tour was well worth it!
Delphi was spectacular and marvelous. tour guide Maria was very informative and had interesting information. Museum was an excellent addition to exploring the site. It had wonderful art The only negative was the prepaid lunch — while appetizers and dessert was good, only two choices for main course and it was mediocre at best. would have been better off not prepaying and ordering a la carte
