Me and my friend had an amazing time with Renata! We got to walk around different parts of Athens, take pictures & go to the local market. We were the only ones in the cooking class so it was amazing to feel like it was a private lesson just for us. The chef & renata were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the food we were cooking. It was over all a 10/10 experience and I would book again. I love how in all of this, we were able to get to know more about Greek culture and make new connections along the way.

Francesca was a great guide! Very knowledgeable and personable. The food was delicious and very fun to make.
Wonderful experience. We had a great guide/hostess. Loved the market and then we had a fantastic time making our own lunch. Fabulous setting and great memories.
Very fun afternoon. Anastasia was a great guide through the central food market and was so helpful! She even helped me find a little shoe store I’d seen. Really went out of her way! But back to the class … it was a great introduction to some of the classic Greek cooking techniques and a fun way to learn more about the culture.
Amazing tour. Was definitely an enjoyable learning experience and great company and guides.
Had such a wonderful time. Angela was great, giving us tips for places to visit on our stay and giving us a little insight on the history of everything we walked past. The class itself was great with great tips and tricks for everything including choosing the ingredients for each dish. Absolutely worth it and would absolutely recommend!
Great tour! The Central Market was fantastic! We had a great time cooking and learning about the culture! Food was great - lots of it! Highly recommend this tour!! Our guide was very knowledgeable and we had lots of fun chatting while we walked to the market.
Chris was a fabulous guide through the entire experience. We loved the tour of the central market and the cooking class. The food was amazing! Highly recommend!!
A truly fantastic experience from beginning to end! Anastasia was our tour guide, our translator and by the end of our class our friend! The chef was well prepared, generous and thoughtful! I have been to many cooking classes from Paris to Rome and many in the United States. This class was my favorite and one of the best experiences of the many great experiences I had in Athens! Thank you for the great time!
Anastasia was AMAZING! She was so much fun and gave the best insight to local living! This tour was the best part of our trip in Athens so far. 10/10 recommend!
Go introduction to Greek vegetarian cooking. Touring the market first was a wonderful way to acclimate to the culture. The guide and translator, Nina, was very knowledgeable and accommodating.
Our host Nina was amazing. She took us to the market to shop and was very informative along the way, pointing out areas of interest. The cooking class was in a fun atmosphere. They gave us the recipes so that we can make the items at home. The chef was very good and friendly. We got to eat the food when we were done cooking, seated at a table in the restaurant. Very Fun! Would highly recommend!!!
First of all - the chef even he could only speak greek was top . The restaurant was very cute and the food good - so was the cookingexperience- now the rest: the guide a lady ran with us through monastiraki - it was quiet a walk in the heat - she was only talking to the 2 people who literally ran with her in front of our group - no explanation - no show or telling us ehat ww pass or anything. Only personal things what she likes or dislikes - and allover she was rough and inappropriate appearance. Xtreme personal timepressure and not prepared. Had not enough receipebooks as promised and told us to download it for this money overall not worth it
Great experience and lots of food.. guide was very informative and pleasant. Some walking was involved to do market experience.
The cooking class was awesome! We got to learn more about the area we were in while on the way to the central market and the restaurant. Chris, our host, was incredible! So friendly, cheery, and clearly a knowledgeable chef in her own right! They made us feel comfortable and we laughed the whole way through. Very much recommend! Also - the food was delicious!
A walking tour + food preparation class + lunch experience. We enjoyed it all and even more so, the company we had on the tour with us. The meeting place was easy to find, the walking tour was a bit hazardous but also gave you a good feel for how bustling the city streets can be, a good bit of historical information shared, especially when it comes to architecture and culture. We loved the restaurant that the cooking class was hosted in, and then given the freedom to enjoy our lunch at our own pace, the food was wonderful. The chef (instructor) and the guide did a great job keeping everyone involved and having a great time.
Angeliki our host was a gem. She was charming, warm and welcoming. She took us through the Plaka district explaining the areas we were passing on our way to the central market in old Athens., where we purchased our fresh vegetables that we would prepare for our lunch meal. We also went through the meat and fish markets. We arrived at a local tavern where our Chef John was ready to show us how to prepare tzatziki sauce, stuffed grape leaves, Greek salad, stuffed peppers and chocolate sausage for dessert. Exchanging culinary ideas is such a wonderful way to experience a new culture. My only down was that we did not actually eat Our peppers due to no oven and time constraints but the dish was prepared in advance so we could eat our menu that we had learned. Fun experience and good guide to the old town area. Definitely recommend this tour.
Fabulous shopping, cooking, and dining experience with delicious food and friendly, knowledgeable guide and chef! Come hungry!!😋
Wonderful cooking class. Chris was very nice & knowledgeable. We recommend this tour to people who enjoy cooking & like cooking with others. We picked out the vegetables for the cooking tour before cooking
This cooking class was an amazing experience from start to finish! It was fascinating to walk through the market in Athens, and our tour guide was absolutely fantastic – so knowledgeable about the area and incredibly thoughtful with their recommendations for places to try. Learning to prepare popular Greek dishes from the chef was a truly unique and enjoyable experience. I would absolutely recommend this class!
Class was fun. Restaurant setting was too noisy and crowded. Our table to work at was too small for everything we needed. Guide was great. Chef was great. Food was great
We had a wonderful experience seeing the fish and meat markets, cheese market, and the vegetable market. We got a lot of information before we actually started the cooking. Also we were able to see a lot on the walk to the restaurant. It was a pretty easy walk because the weather was beautiful. I don’t think it would be easy for older people in the heat with the summer crowds. The food was delicious and Angie was an excellent guide. I definitely recommend this.
Great Tour, We enjoyed very much Our lovely guide Joanna walked us round the city, then market which was very interesting. Assisted in translating to restaurant chef. Knowledgeable cooking class, my granddaughter loved it.
My husband and I had an amazing time in this tour. Elena was very friendly and knowledgeable not only about the food of the region but also the history and architecture. We picked out a few items at the market before heading to the restaurant to prepare our meal. Everyone was fun and the food was delicious. Highly recommend this tour!
This cooking class is much more than that. It includes a walk of the old Athens and a few visits of landmarks. Our hostesses were so knowledgeable and welcoming. A great activity for anyone. Highly recommended. 👍👍👍
The Athens central market and cooking class was not your typical cooking experience. The recipes and menu were delicious and authentically Greek; however, the class was conducted in the open air dining room of the restaurant (read no air conditioning) with the 8 participants seated elbow-to-elbow at a dining table with the head chef demonstrating while the tour guide translated his instructions. Food courses and portions were huge, but contained no protein. Also be aware that the meeting location is 20 minutes from central market so walking through Athens is required beyond just touring the market. The market visit included purchasing vegetables like tomatoes and cucumbers and buying yogurt, but included no education on how Greek products are special or what to look for when shopping.
A fun and informative activity in Athens. The guide , Johanna, was delightful and the chef very professional. It’s a fairly long walk from the meeting point to the market in the intense heat, for older, less mobile students but we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
A very enjoyable and informative tour with a great guide. We enjoyed visiting the vegetable and meat markets and cheese shop. We then had a great cooking class at a lovely taverna with a knowledgable chef. Lunch then followed, and the food was delicious and plentiful. Highly recommended.
Fantastic interactive cooking class! Our friendly, knowledgeable host took us to a farmers market and guided us on how to pick the best veggies that we would use to cook our recipes. Next we went back to a cute restaurant. A table was set with cooking supplies. We had a personal chef show us step by step how to make authentic Greek salads, tzatziki sauce, stuffed vine leaves, stuffed peppers, and chocolate salami. Then we moved to another table to enjoy all of our tasty recipes. I highly recommend! This is a must do if you’re in Athens.
We had a long day before this Cooking Class and found the later start time (11:00 a.m.) and the relaxing pace to be perfect for our needs! We first had a tour through Athens' Central Market, where our charming guide Nina showed us the produce and cheeses needed to make our dishes. We also learned a little about Greek food culture. Then, we proceeded to a restaurant, where the chef demonstrated how to make five important Greek dishes - tzatziki, Greek salad, stuffed grape leaves, stuffed tomatoes and bell peppers, and chocolate salamis. (Note: carving the tomato to make stuffed tomatoes was the most fun!) Everything was delicious and we got to eat the tzatziki and Greek salad that we made. It takes too long to cook the other dishes so we ate someone else's creation. This was a great way to spend a relaxing day away from the heat, learn something new, and enjoy the fruits of our labor!
George was an amazing tour guide. He was funny, knowledgeable, and very friendly. We really enjoyed the Athens central market shopping experience, and him translating Greek for us. We also loved the authentic Greek cuisine and chef. Would recommend to anyone going to Athens!
Very happy with the company for allowing the tour to still take place we paid for the group tour but because this was the off season we were the only couple. Had an amazing time walking the city with our guide, he was somewhat new to the tour industry but really had the history and city knowledge of how daily life takes place. Gave us so much insight on how life and politics work throughout the city. Allowed us to go to different parts of the market to get the experience. Great translator for our chef experience and was very kind and spoke to our American understanding. Got to know him more and he us in our conversations at the dinner table. He even stayed late to answer our questions and ran late to his dentist appointment. Really put our needs and experience above all else. Would recommend this tour/experience to anyone over any others. FYI also gave us a cookbook that we have used back home many times since the tour helping us rekindle our wonderful experience!
The guide was thoughtful and knowledgeable- amazing English - translating the Greek chef’s instructions. Thevtour through the market was both fun and instructional. The recipes were simple but delicious…a wonderful experience for our family.
The tour was well organized, our guide was pleasant , chef was wonderful , sharing tips for making good tzaziki, how to make sure to purchase real feta….the stuffed peppers were delicious! We enjoyed walking through the markets too. Not much history on the tour itself but a good way to get acquainted with different neighborhoods.
George was a TERRIFIC guide. The whole experience was awesome: from shopping for ingredients in the wonderful markets, to meeting our chef in a charming restaurant, to prepping the whole meal, we had a blast! The food was delicious and plentiful! Please consider this experience when in Athens. we are so very glad we did!
Wonderful cooking class experience. Yelena was our tour guide and she was so lovely. We got to walk around Athens a little bit, shop for our produce at a lovely local store, and do a wonderful cooking class with an amazing Chef. Food was delicious!
I loved this cooking class! Our guide went above and beyond and showed us some beautiful places as we walked to the market. I learned so much ! And the cooking part was so great because it was very hands on and not too hard. It was one of the main highlights of our trip. It’s a must do! You’ll leave wanting to cook Greek food when you get back home. The food, chef and restaurant were wonderful.
We had the most lovely guide Antoinette. We first went to the market and on the way had a lovely walk while pointing out some fabulous sites of Athens. We shopped at the market then went to the restaurant to meet our chef who went through the recipes step by step. It was wonderful and so much fun and at the end we got to have the most delicious lunch. Highly recommend!
Angie was an amazing guide and very friendly. She obviously enjoys her work and her infectious enthusiasm added to a great experience.
Great way to kick off a visit to Athens! Besides shopping at the farmers market we walked through Plaka and got some sight seeing done too. Once we reached the restaurant where we had our cooking class we met the chef, and he was amazing! So knowledgeable, passionate, and kind. Yelen, our tour guide was funny, personable and we felt her love for Athens. My 19 yr old daughter still talks about her today :)! We learned so much about the city, the history and about Greek cuisine. What we cooked was sooo tasty and the lunch afterwards was fabulous, incl a glass of wine. We went as a mother & daughter “team”, and another mother and daughter joined us. We had great fun as a group and getting to know each other. If you decide to sign up for this excellent event, make sure you have something in your stomach. The first two to three hours are walking, shopping, and cooking.
Was such a great day exploring the markets then going to a resturant to cook...there was so much food we got to take some home. Angela was a fantastic guide! 👏
The walk to the market through the old city and the cooking class were fabulous. Very authentic, informative and hands on. Yanis was a great guide and made the day so enjoyable.
Really fun activity. Angelika was our guide throughout and she was very sparkly and fun. First a really relaxed walk through the city and a great way to see the less touristy part of Athens. Then a visit to a genuinely old Greek market to buy the ingredients for the food. Our chef was Janis who was very helpful explaining all the herbs and spices that went into the dishes. He has great knowledge of the produce. Angelika translated all our questions and the answers in an entertaining fashion. At the end we ate all the dishes we prepared but we suspect they were “this is what we prepared earlier”. 😊 Overall we learnt a lot in a really fun way. A BIG thank you to Telis “in the office” for arranging it all at short notice.
It was great experience going to the market together and be able to shop . It would have been better to have greek vocabulary and try ourselfs. To meet at the other end and walk trough Plaka was innecessary. We already knew Plaka from many days in Athens. It was a pitty only one copy x two people even friends. The person without couldn’t take notes, was boring for him/her. The greek salad is too easy for learning, could have been another dish. Great atmosphere, very friendly and relaxed. For the price it could have include a simple and small culinary sample of Greek cuisine( dry herbs, spices…..) more to remember… It was pleasant with Giani and Constantina it could have been more interesting with another dish more elaborated.
Spectacular market visit/cooking that took us into the heart of Athens and taught us to make real Greek Food!! 10/10
This was an amazing tour. The booking was easy, communication was excellent. Our guide was friendly, fun and knowledgeable. He showed us around the area with lots of interesting facts about the city before an excellent trip to the market. Then a great cooking class and wonderful lunch. Followed up with great tips on how to spend our remaining time in Athens. So much more than a cooking class! Thank you!
What a great experience! My tour guide, Telis, was welcoming, kind and extremely knowledgeable. The time spent interacting with the chef while being able to ask many questions, was just what I wanted. It was also a great way to get oriented to the area and it’s fantastic sights. The company was very easy to book with and very accommodating and responsive.
Thanks to Xenia our wonderful and friendly guide to and John our chef who taught us. It was fun learning to prepare many dishes and wonderful to eat the meal at the end.
Our tour guide Constantina was amazing!! This class was a great experience, from walking to the market to learning a little about the history of the food. I went with my daughter and it was one of our favorite days! The time flies and the meal at the end is SO good!
I did this with my two teenage daughters. It was a great experience for all of us. The walk through the markets is a cheeky tour of more than just the markets, which was fantastic! The cooking and the lunch were superb. I highly recommend!
