Syntagma is the central square of Athens. The square is named after the Constitution that Otto, the first King of Greece, was obliged to grant after a popular and military uprising on 3 September 1843. It is located in front of the 19th century Old Royal Palace, housing the Greek Parliament since 1934. Syntagma Square is the most important square of modern Athens from both a historical and social point of view, at the heart of commercial activity and Greek politics.
The Central Market (also called Varvakios Agora) is located between Monastiraki and Omonoia Square and is a must see if you like to explore the Greek culture and food The structure was built at the end of the 19th century and is open daily from early in the morning till late.The traditional food market in center of Athens, fresh fish, meet and vegetables full of local taste , colors and smell

It was a very interesting and fun tour! It was definitely worth the money, as it included a guided tour with full-sized portions rather than just samples. You get even your own packages to take home! The tour was even more enjoyable thanks to the knowledgeable and engaging guide, who did a great job of involving everyone.

Tassos was a fabulous tour guide. We not only learned a lot about the food and had several excellent tastings but learned a lot about Greece. We had the opportunity to buy awesome Kalamata olive oil as well as honey. There were just 6 on our tour. All 6 of us would highly recommend! Make sure and book…you will love it!
Tass was a great guide who was very open and provided a laid back tour experience. We had fun trying all the foods he suggested and was accommodating for dietary preferences. Also, props to the organisers for getting us a last minute guide.
We had the pleasure of having Tassos as our guide for this tour, I could not recommend him as a tour guide more. Knowledgable, very patient and very willing to answer all of our questions. There was a lot more history than expected which I really enjoyed - we learnt a lot. I would not recommend eating before this tour - we were given SO much food it was amazing, we came out of it really feeling like we had tried Greek cuisine and learnt more about Athens. Tassos also went above and beyond and showed us to the Acropolis / helped us to get tickets and waited with until we got in to make sure there were no issues with our tickets. I genuinely could not recommend this as a tour more - it was incredible value for money. Our tour went on for longer than expected (4/5 hours) so one to bear in mind if you’re only in Athens for a few days / in à rush for any reason. Thank you so much to Tassos for a great tour!

I personally think the best way to experience a city is through its food scene — especially when you get to do it with a local. Our guide, Tassos, was truly the crème de la crème: so warm, knowledgeable and passionate about Greece. Tassos, our tour guide, was beyond amazing. I highly recommend this food tour to everyone and you must go with Tassos. He is full of information and stories. The places that he took us were so special. The walking tour was supposed to be 3 to 4 hours but we ended up doing the tour for a little over 5 hours. I learnt so much about Greece. Tasio was an excellent guide who knew his way around the Athens neighborhoods like he knew his way around traditional foods and Greek history. It was a lovely experience that I recommend for anyone visiting Athens.
Lots of food on this tour that covers everything from breakfast to lunch. You will probably leave full with leftovers. This tour was like having a friend guide you through the good spots in Athens and than pick/buy all the food for you. You don’t have to think about much. Just follow the leader and learn about the food and culture. Great tour!

Started off with meeting our guide, Tassos. Meeting point was a little confusing at first but a quick message with the provider and they told me exactly where to be at. The wife and I were lucky to be the only ones, so it may have just been a private tour. Tassos took us to many places to try the “must haves” while in Greece. The pace was perfect, it made it more personal with our conversations. I would highly recommend this tour.

This was a superb tour! Our guide, Tassos was so funny, knowledgeable and kind. The pace was perfect and we chatted all the way around. The food was delicious and plentiful with us tasting things and seeing streets and markets we’d never have ventured into or tried. This has been a wonderful four hours! Highly recommend

This tour was wonderful and unexpected and the best tour we ever had! Visalia was a local who grew up in the city and has great knowledge of the area and all the places to eat. She knows Althean culture and traditions and how the Greeks do everything! Plus the history of the foods we tried, which were all so good! Her enthusiasm for the food and the people was infectious and our questions and conversations led us to other foods and fun off her usual script. We all had a lot of fun!

Tassos is fantastic, a wealth of knowledge and a great personality. This was so much more than a food tour. My family had a great time, what an amazing experience! The pace was not rushed we walked a historic part of the city, listening to stories about the sights, the rich history of Greece, her people, culture and food. As if that wasn't enough, the food! We stopped at several shops and restaurants to eat; the food was delicious, sweet, savory, so many flavor profiles. This isn't a typical food tour, you will eat and eat and then eat some more. You aren't eating samples you are getting full portions of some of the most amazing food; so go hungry! From the bottom of my heart, thank you Tassos, you made my family feel welcome and special.
Our family had a fantastic experience with Tass on his food tour. He expertly blended knowledge with the right amount of humor to make a fantastic day - I would enthusiastically recommend this tour for anyone interested in this type of experience. Tass has the uncanny ability to instantly become not just your guide, but a friend. He was able to connect with all the different members of our group, so even if you're shy, this is a great experience. He also perfectly dictated the walking pace for my elderly parents, so if you don't move like you used to, this was still a perfect way to spend time in Athens. The value for this tour is also exceptional... There is plenty of food of all different varieties; all members of our group felt like we 100% got our money's worth. We decided on this tour somewhat last minute, but we don't regret our choice at all and would do it again in a heartbeat.

He took us through the streets and beautiful, authentic establishments. He recommended many other establishments and other interesting places. Had the most amazing walking food tour with Thassos through the streets of Athens. He really brought to life the history of the city and its food culture. As we all know, “everything started with the Greeks!” We felt it was extra special as it was just us as a family of four. We cannot recommend Thassos enough it is a tour not to be missed!
